The astrology for this week of April 19th through the 25th of 2021 shifts the energy as we lose some of our impetuous, fiery temperament to a slower, more careful and practical approach.
The week begins with two major Sign changes and far-reaching implications. Both Mercury and the Sun exit Aries to enter Taurus. We lose any planets transiting the Fire Element, except for the occasional but brief transit of the Moon through the Fire Signs, and we create a Stellium of four planets in the Fixed Earth Sign as Mercury and the Sun join Venus and Uranus in the Venus-ruled Sign of Taurus.
An additional factor to these planets transiting Taurus is our nemesis for the year, the Taurus – Aquarius square exemplified by the Uranus Taurus – Saturn Aquarius square, is in play and accentuated.
Any tendency to make waves and stand up for what we want could be muted by the lack of the Aries energy and the reinforcement of the Taurus energy. Many of us may engage a lockstep pace whereby we accept the notion to ‘go along to get along’. So much for the revolutionary independence that some of us might have engaged over the past four weeks. We can all be expected to fall in line. Restrictions could be reimposed, all under the guise of loosening the parameters of the lockdowns.
The mid-week is liable to have our creative outlets thwarted. We might feel that we just don’t have it in us to be the lonely warrior in expressing our talents when our voice merely echoes within the confines of our personal world.
The latter part of the week might have some surprising developments. We may see evidence of the paradigm shift with incidents of serendipity, synchronicity and being in the right place at the right time.
We have another Sign change on Friday as Mars exits Gemini to enter Cancer. Instead of the run around we might have exhibited since March with us going from one thing to another to yet another, our physical energy might not be as ‘hyper’, and we could spend more time around our home base tending our gardens and preparing our environment for outdoor activities.
The weekend is a good time for us to attend to errands before we focus our attention on our social interactions. We do have to be wary. Our nemesis for the year – the Taurus Aquarius square – is triggered by Venus and Mercury transiting Taurus both square Saturn on Sunday. Everyone may be fixed in their opinion, rigid in their beliefs, and unwilling to entertain anything contrary to what they accept as true. It would be far better to keep incendiary issues from our discussions and try to maintain superficial and pleasant topics to our conversations. This schism in our societies might go on throughout this year, an indication of the shifting paradigms where some are willing to step into an ascension and a revelation of a broadened reality, others reverting to the so-called ‘tried and true’ and the acceptance of the narrative being promulgated.
Monday, April 19th – Slow Down, You Move Too Fast – Neptune, Pluto, Moon Void-of-Course, Mercury Taurus, Sun Taurus. Monday begins the week with the Cancer Moon trine Neptune early in the day, and the Moon opposed Pluto late in the day. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for six hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Cancer and before the Moon enters Leo early on Tuesday morning. Mercury exits Aries to enter Taurus [6:29 AM EDT], followed by the Sun exiting Aries to enter Taurus [4:33 PM EDT]. Our intuitive sense may be heightened as we start the week on this Monday. Either we can use foresight to plan out our day, or we could find ourselves being swung around by our moods and emotions. Finding a balance between what we need to do and what we wish to pursue might seem like a tenuous walk across a narrow beam, but it is an essential exercise to maintain our mental health. To do otherwise could have us falling into a victim mode of despair and despondency. The change in Sign of both the Sun and Mercury today also eliminates the Fire Element, similar to what we experienced for much of this year up to the Vernal Equinox last month when the Sun first entered Aries. The movement of the Sun and Mercury into Taurus creates a Stellium in the Fixed Earth Sign as the Sun and Mercury join Uranus and Venus in the Venus-ruled Sign of Taurus. We may become less impetuous, more interested in taking things step-by-step. Instead of emphasizing our individuality, we could be more compliant to the rules and regulations being espoused. This Taurean energy also amplifies the Taurus Aquarius square with the push pull between old and new, between innovation and security, between uniqueness and conformity.
Tuesday, April 20th – Putting a Damper On – Sun, Mercury, Venus, Uranus. Tuesday has the Moon moving into Leo where today the Moon squares the four Taurus-transiting planets of the Sun, Mercury, Venus and Uranus. Tuesday and Wednesday trigger the Taurus – Aquarius energy in a Fixed Sign T-Square with the Leo Moon square the Taurus planets today, and the Moon opposed Saturn in Aquarius tomorrow. We may be champing at the bit today wanting to put our individual mark on our involvements and seeking venues for our creative self-expression. But we might also discover that our intentions are thwarted by the lack of resources, the standards imposed, or a general fatigue and discouragement. Let’s keep in mind, always keep in mind, that every journey begins with a first step. Things could take longer than we would like. That’s life. Things unfold in their own natural rhythm, sometimes remarkably fast, other times deadeningly slow. We can only do the best that we can with the recognition that there will be times of acceleration and other times of seeming stagnation. And yet the journey continues. Let’s use this day to consider options and alternatives to the ways and means by which we can accomplish our goals and give voice to our capabilities.
Wednesday, April 21st – Alone or Together – Saturn. Wednesday has the Fixed Sign T-Square completed with the Leo Moon today opposed Saturn. Yesterday we had the Taurus planets in square to the Moon. Today, the Moon opposes Saturn. Again, the Taurus Aquarius square that challenges us throughout this year is engaged by the Moon trigger yesterday and today. This Wednesday raises the question as to whether our goals and ambitions lie solely in our own personal domain or whether we need the assistance and collaboration of someone else or other people. Benjamin Franklin raised the issue when he stated: “We must, indeed, all hang together or, most assuredly, we shall all hang separately.” The importance of input from other people, either as trusted confidantes for their suggestions or as mere admirers of our efforts, cannot be discounted. We may have the desires and the talents to accomplish our greatest plans, but often the appreciation and advocacy of our intentions by someone or other people give us a second wind to continue on, even when our energies flag and we question our ability to achieve successful results. We do not have to be ‘islands unto ourselves’, but we can still express our talents in whatever venues we choose and with the recognition that delays and frustrations are often key ingredients of the process. They allow us to stop, evaluate and re-evaluate before moving ahead. Today is a day to be gentle with ourselves and with other people.
Thursday, April 22nd – Out of the Darkness – Jupiter, Mars, Sun, Mercury, Venus, Uranus. The Moon begins the day with the Leo Moon opposed Jupiter, and the Moon sextile Mars. The Moon then moves into Virgo where today the Moon begins its trine to the Taurus-transiting planets. The Moon trines the Sun and Mercury, and tomorrow the Moon trines Uranus and Venus. Venus conjuncts Uranus. Our options may seem many, our possibilities few. Although we may feel stymied early in the morning, once in gear we could have the courage and determination to move ahead with our plans without anything barring our progress. With an awareness of the conditions and circumstances in which we are operating, we can effectively deal with whatever we need to address and do so with grace and style. We might also be privy to the magic of these times, where things can neatly fall into place virtually of their own accord. This is a day for us to neither feel blocked in furthering our interests nor the belief that we have to do it all. The universe works and we could experience a surprising development today. We just have to be open in order to receive.
Friday, April 23rd – Finishing Touches – Uranus, Venus, Neptune, Mars Cancer. The Moon continues its transit of Virgo with the Moon in the early morning hours trine both Uranus and Venus both in Taurus. Late in the day, the Moon opposes Neptune. Mars exits Gemini and enters Cancer [7:49 AM EDT]. Yesterday and today can have us dealing effectively with details and taking care of our responsibilities. This is a day for us to engage innovative ways of accomplishing necessary tasks without allowing anything to be glossed over. Late in the day, we might feel somewhat muddled, engaging fantasies or embracing anxieties rather than clear thinking and focused intent. Mars moving out of Gemini into Cancer can lessen our desire to run around and engage any number of things. We might prefer to stay at home, deal with home and family matters, and tone down our energy. Relaxation is a form of re-creation, and we may be far more interested in the sanctuary of our personal life rather than being out and about. The weather is getting warmer, and we can have the sense that staying at home is no longer the restrictions imposed upon us by the lockdowns but instead is the base from which we operate with new methods and the comforts of home we may have created for ourselves over the past few months.
Saturday, April 24th – Errands then Gatherings – Pluto, Moon Void-of-Course, Mars, Mercury, Uranus. Saturday continues with the Virgo Moon with the Moon today trine Pluto. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for five hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Virgo and before the Moon enters Libra where today the Libra Moon squares Mars. Mercury conjuncts Uranus. If we would make our ‘to do’ list of errands early in the day, we could proceed with our errands expeditiously in the morning hours, checking off one task after another. Time management skills can be engaged for us to prioritize our morning schedule and accomplish more in a shorter period of time. As the day progresses, our interests are likely to shift to quality time with that special someone or the special people in our life. Social engagements are likely better today than tomorrow. We could also be privy to some surprising news and unexpected developments. Let’s be sure to have some space in order to take advantage of any opportunities that suddenly come along. This Saturday might be a day when our awareness increases, and we are able to see or hear things that alter our opinions and increase our understanding of certain issues.
Sunday, April 25th – Tread Lightly with a Bemused Attitude – Saturn, Venus, Mercury. Sunday has the Libra Moon trine Saturn. Venus conjuncts Mercury, and both Venus and Mercury square Saturn. Although we may be in contact with someone, we need to be wary of the interaction today. A desire to connect can be appealing, but we need to keep in mind that each of us, all of us, are operating with a very short fuse. As individuals, families, society, we have been placed under a great deal of stress by this virus contagion and the responses to it. Our mental health has been affected. Many of us have fallen prey to the concerns and anxieties generated by the fear mongering, first over the CoVid implicated deaths, now by questioning the efficacy of the vaccines. It is important that in our social interactions we keep to encouraging and uplifting subject matter. We don’t need the Eeyores or the naysayers to add to our stress level. On the contrary, it is important that we have those people around us who see the good things in life, the blessings in our lives, and the opportunities of a brighter future. Let’s take off the blinders, work with peripheral vision, and embrace the wide world of prospects without feeling the need to justify our bemused attitude or explain the ways by which we shall achieve a more idyllic lifestyle. Intention is always the preliminary stage to the first steps in the journey to a better life. Besides, we are going through a paradigm shift from linear, sequential reality to asequential reality where things occur often in the most inexplicable ways, as if by magic or miracle.
