The astrology for this week of January 4th through the 10th of 2021 may have us fast out of the gate to chart our course into new beginnings.
The week begins with us meticulous in our observations and considerations as we plan our priorities and how we choose to develop our resolutions for this new year of 2021. While we might have a broad spectrum of interests and activities to draw upon, we can focus on the truly meaningful and those involvements that address our greatest hopes and wishes.
The parameters in our game of life may have shifted and changed, but we are better able to navigate the currents. No longer are we feeling solely compliant to the edicts handed down. We are willing to be attentive and cautious, but we are unwilling to put our life on hold. And this may be the major challenge of this year 2021 — power struggles between individual freedoms and authoritative restrictions.
As this week unfolds, we could draw upon input from other people, from sources other than our own understanding, to advance our goals and make our way into a future that crosses the threshold from the old paradigm of linear, sequential reality into the new paradigm of asequential reality where we do not have to do it all but we can draw upon unexpected incidents that pave our way forward through what we might have previously termed as magic or miracles.
This week has several planetary Sign changes.
On Wednesday, Mars ends its six-month transit of Aries, the Sign that Mars rules, to enter Taurus, a Sign in which Mars is in Detriment. Impetuousness and self-assertion to the point of narcissism may be replaced by a more plodding, stubborn approach and with less intensity than we might have expressed over the past half year.
Friday has two planetary Sign changes as Mercury exits Capricorn to enter Aquarius, and Venus exits Sagittarius to enter Capricorn. We now have two Stelliums or powerpacks with one in Capricorn and the other in Aquarius with Mercury, Jupiter and Saturn in the Fixed Air Sign of Aquarius, and Venus, the Sun, and Pluto in the Cardinal Earth Sign of Capricorn. While we can use these two powerpacks to have our head in the clouds and our feet on the ground, we have to be wary that we maintain the balance between the two and not be compromised by either being too airy and futuristic without considering the practical means to attain our dreams, or so practical and earth bound that we discount and negate the possibility of the plausible, and even more so the possibility of the so-called seemingly impossible.
With the various significant shifts going on this week, we shall have to be flexible and adaptable to the changes occurring. But if 2020 taught us one thing, it was learning the skills of flexibility and adaptability to changing circumstance. Welcome to a new world order.
Monday, January 4th – Keeping the Eye on the Ball – Mercury, Pluto, Lunar T-Square, Neptune, Venus, Moon Void-of-Course. The week begins with the Moon in Virgo and the Moon trine both Mercury and Pluto both in Capricorn. The Virgo Moon also triggers a Mutable Sign T-Square with the Moon opposed Neptune and the Moon square Venus. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for eight hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Virgo and before the Moon enters Libra early on Tuesday morning. Mercury conjuncts Pluto. Coming off the long New Year’s holiday weekend, we might jump into this week with our eyes ablaze to a wide realm of possibilities. As if starting our life anew, we may feel as though we have a wide range of involvements to engage. Some can be fascinating distractions, others more significant participations. With our society attacking us with constant stimuli and hype, it is essential that we hone our critical analysis skills in order to decipher those things truly worth of our time and those that would prove merely a waste of our time. Our mind today is likely to be laser-like with our ability to cut through the dross and get to the gems of our possibilities. No taking the eye off the ball today, for plans made can be water-tight with attention both to the big picture of our intentions and the specific details necessary to successfully realize our goals.
Tuesday, January 5th – Different Perspective – Saturn, Jupiter. Tuesday has the Moon moving into Libra where today the Moon trines both Saturn and Jupiter both in Aquarius. Yesterday could have had us so focused that we concentrated primarily on our ambitions and determined how best to go forward with our plans. In the process, we might have put on blinders to avoid the peripheral distractions and diversions that also could have been coming at us. Through conversations and discussing our plans with other people today, we can take off our blinders and be open to options and alternatives we might not have taken into account. This Tuesday is a good day for us to reach out to people, get their perspective and their sense of what is going on. We can even utilize someone as a good sounding board for what we are contemplating as our resolutions for this new year. Like an accordion, yesterday might have had us contracting our views and today could have us expanding our options. The metronome of contraction and expansion is a large part of this year 2021 but may eventually lead to the right balance point. Remember Goldilocks!
Wednesday, January 6th – Slowed Down by Blockages – Sun, Pluto, Mars Taurus. We might have begun this new year of 2021 with a thrust of energy and concentrated attention. Astrology is all about cycles with the recognition that there are times when we are operating at the top of our game, other times when it feels hard just to scrape by. Wednesday and Thursday of this week could feel more like the scraping by. This Wednesday has the Libra Moon square both the Sun and Pluto both in Capricorn. Mars exits Aries to enter Taurus [5:27 PM EST]. The energy shifts dramatically today. Much of our input yesterday, whether from ourselves or from other people, may seem to be unrealistic and blocked by the conditions we encounter. We might feel frustrated on this Wednesday, but let’s keep in mind that any delays or thwarting of our plans can allow us to recalibrate and reconfigure. While the past six months as Mars was transiting its own Sign of Aries could have had us moving forward with all flags flying and a self-absorbed liability with us being overly impetuous, we are now more willing to take things step-by-step and lay solid foundation stones for our future goals. Slowing things down does not mean that they come to a halt but rather allow things to evolve in their own manner by their own process.
Thursday, January 7th – Let It Go – Mercury, Venus, Lunar T-Square, Mars, Saturn, Jupiter, Uranus. Thursday begins with the Libra Moon square Mercury, and the Moon sextile Venus in the early morning hours. The Moon then moves into Scorpio where today the Scorpio Moon triggers a Fixed Sign T-Square with the Moon opposed both Mars and Uranus both in Taurus, and the Moon square both Saturn and Jupiter both in Aquarius. Wednesday and Thursday could prove frustrating. Thursday asks, no really demands, that we pare down our expectations. We might start the year with a bucket list of resolutions, but a great many of them are hopeless intentions and wishes that have little likelihood of happening, and that’s despite our living during a most magical time when things can change dramatically and suddenly without previous indications. This day calls for a winnowing, cutting the extraneous and the superfluous from our plans for action. Either we might not have the resources necessary to carry out some of our grand plans, or we may discover that some of our intentions fare better in our imagination than in true implementation. Let’s avoid stomping our feet today, and instead use the day to rid ourselves of the extraneous. Delays and frustrations could serve as significant braking actions and help us avoid being on a runaway train.
Friday, January 8th – Listening to Our Muse – Sun, Neptune, Pluto, Mercury, Mars, Mercury Aquarius, Venus Capricorn. After what might have been a difficult Thursday with delays and frustrations and things liable to have gone awry, Friday is a totally different set of circumstances. The Scorpio Moon today sextiles the Sun, the Moon trines Neptune, and the Moon sextiles Pluto. The Sun sextiles Neptune, and Mercury which enters Aquarius today squares Mars. Mercury enters Aquarius [7:00 AM EST] and Venus enters Capricorn [10:41 AM EST]. We now have two Stelliums, two powerpacks, with Sun, Pluto and Venus in Capricorn, and Mercury Jupiter and Saturn in Aquarius. These two Stelliums will allow us to have our head in the clouds with our feet firmly planted on the ground. With major shifts in energy with the two planetary Sign changes we might feel a little disconcerted today. If we keep focused, trust our intuitive sense, and concentrate on our priorities, we could tie up various loose ends and complete outstanding matters. This is a day for paring down in preparation of new directions that we may sense are our ‘right’ trajectory for this new year. We can accomplish a great deal in advancing our plans with a pragmatic approach and a willingness to heed the signals along the way.
Saturday, January 9th – Expanding our Reach – Mercury, Saturn, Jupiter, Venus, Mars. Saturday has the Moon moving into Sagittarius where today the Sagittarius Moon sextiles the three Aquarius-transiting planets of Mercury, Saturn and Jupiter. Venus trines Mars, and Mercury conjuncts Saturn. We might be in a highly expansive mood today, looking to extend our reach and put our energy into our future goals. Times spent, whether in person, on the phone, or by text, can be enlivening and add fuel to our fire of interests and intended adventures. We are likely feeling upbeat, willing to look beyond the present, mundane affairs to the vast distances of possibilities and prospects. Our relationships may be on the uptick. None of us are looking for confrontations or adversarial interactions. This is a day for us to embrace appreciation for and support of each one of us ‘marching to our own drummer’. This year is a year of emphasizing individual freedoms, liberties, and even pushing the envelope against any restrictions imposed by authoritative agencies. But our march into our future is not harebrained, for we are probably considering the most streamlined methods and drawing upon the advances in technology to make our progress with our plans by being more effective with less expenditure of energy and working smarter rather than harder.
Sunday, January 10th – Seductive Appearances – Neptune. Friday and Saturday could have been two highly productive days, days when we were given glimpses into our future possibilities with a belief that what we saw was what could be achieved. On this Sunday the Sagittarius Moon squares Neptune. Although the new year often offers a wide cornucopia of possibilities, and despite the fact that the paradigm shift opens the door to asequential happenings where things can occur in a most inexplicable manner; the challenge for each of us and for everyone of us is to avoid arrogance and falling back into the old mindset that it is solely through our own efforts and the strength of our will that things happen. If we revert to the old belief of our having singular control over matters, we could find ourselves falling into a trap where we are seduced by the hype and the appearances without our doing our due diligence about the components or the consequences of our potential actions with the liability of our embracing fantasies that have little hope of successful realization except for our belief that if we want it, it will be so. While there are times when we can make great advances in our journey through this life experience, we are also cautioned not to run too far too fast without checking the parameters and evaluating our course or the purpose of our actions. Let’s not get snookered by scintillating appearances. Stepping off the track allows us a fresh perspective and a detachment from our focus or obsessions. This day might best be served by a ‘time out’, resting, relaxing, and reinvigorating rather than pushing ahead.
