The emotional whipsaws with various ups and downs and different push pulls continue during this December.
The Mutable Sign T-Square of Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces that we have been dealing with all Autumn is accentuated during this month along with the Cardinal Sign T-Square as Mars continues its transit of Libra and triggers the Uranus in Aries, Pluto in Capricorn square.
This month can provoke high anxiety and a liability to act whether we strategize our moves or merely make knee-jerk reactions. We could feel as though we are picking up the pace, fast forwarding but without fully understanding our direction or considering the consequences of our actions. There may be times when we blithely forge ahead, other times when we may feel as though we are hitting the wall.
On the 4th of December, Mercury squares Jupiter and Venus exits its own Sign of Libra to enter a Sign of its Detriment, Scorpio, where Venus is not comfortable. We may be making our plans for holiday get-aways with little consideration for the expense involved. We are moving into the holidays with anticipation and expectation of making the forthcoming holidays full of good cheer.
On the 6th, the Sun sextiles Mars and Mars squares Pluto. We may be looking at spreading our wings, pushing the envelope, but some of our actions could prove impetuous without our fully considering the coordinates with the liability of crashing into the wall. There can be some extreme actions taken during this time, and we would have to be wary of collateral damage and unintended consequences.
We may want to break down much of the old structures and formats of our lives, but it would be wise to keep in mind that change does not necessitate throwing out the baby with the bath water.
We are all going through transitions and transformations, but the greatest shift is likely to be internal. We do not have to overthrow all our external matters in order to reflect the inner change. We might find that our inner transformations allow for a smooth but deliberate way in which we do things, even things to which we have long been accustomed.
It would be wise to keep in mind that volcanic activity can either be effusive or explosive. So too with the Pluto energy operating on all of us, operating on us in our individual lives but also operating in the collective, society and the world-at-large.
We can make dramatic changes in how we do our lives, but it is unnecessary that we throw everything overboard and start from scratch. Such drastic actions would be an explosive way of dealing with change, while the more subtle but equally dramatic shifts in how we are dealing with our life circumstances can be the effusive way of transformation.
The first half of December can be explosive at times, and we could experience increased sabre rattling and possible missteps due to impetuous actions. Storm systems can be intense, and there could be increased earthquake and volcanic activity. We might all feel as though we need a form of release. Steam vents of participating in diversions and distractions would prove far better than allowing things to build up to a point of extreme anger outbursts.
The 8th of December has the Sun trine Uranus. We may look to express a new sense of ourselves, give thoughts to new interests we are looking to develop over the next year, and draw upon the holiday spirit to bolster our dreams with the realization that the forthcoming holidays represent the birthing of the light in the darkness with all its sprinkling of magic and miracles.
Mercury exits Sagittarius to enter Capricorn on the 9th of December, followed on the 10th with Mars opposed Uranus and on the 11th with the Sagittarius New Moon and Venus trine Neptune. Impetuous actions at this time can precipitate accidents. This would be a time for us to be less involved with the active focus on the material realm and engage instead the ethereal of the non-physical realm. There are times to act, times not to act. And this mid-December period suggests that our actions could be impulsive and careless, while our willing to listen and wait can be rewarded with the serendipity of these times where we find ourselves being in the right place at the right time.
A mirror to the paradigm shift can be evident at this time of the New Moon and the influence it carries over the next two weeks. We may find that the more we try and make things happen, the more we experience pushbacks and difficulties in achieving our goals. An active stance could seem Sisyphus-like whereby we push and push trying to roll the boulder up the mountain only to have it fall back down.
If we take a more reflective tone, utilize the tai chi moves, be flexible, mindful and aware of the conditions, we could find that the way is made clear with little effort on our part.
As we enter this holiday period and in the quiet interludes of our celebrating with family and friends, we could discover the universe working its magic with things happening in a most mysterious but thrilling manner.
Holiday preparations can have us feeling buoyant and excited, but simplicity and genuine appreciation may be far more rewarding than excess and extravagance.
Entering the second half of December, the Sun squares Jupiter and Mercury sextiles Neptune on the 14th, Venus sextiles Pluto on the 17th and Mercury conjuncts Pluto on the 19th. If we would engage a philosophical attitude to our lives during this mid-December, we might gain comfort and nurture from recognition of the deepening of our character. We might seek out those people with whom we have a deep, soulful connection. We could also plan our future laser-like in accord with what we now understand to be the quality in our lives.
Autumn ends on the 20th of December with Mercury square Uranus. People may be heading off for the holiday week, but the travel delays and difficulties could prove compounded. This energy can create disruptions and disturbances in communications, movement and transmissions.
Winter begins on the 21st of December at the Winter Solstice as the Sun exits Sagittarius and enters the Cardinal Sign of Capricorn. Winter begins with an Earth Grand Trine and gives us support to put our spirit into action. We may feel as though we have the talents and abilities to journey forward no matter the circumstances we might encounter along the way. We have had the past seven years to get our sea legs on the paradigm shift. We may have come to an appreciation that the ways of the past no longer work for the present, much less the future. If we have truly gotten our act together — an act of honing our adaptability and flexibility — then we are well prepared for whatever comes our way.
The winter season can be a highly productive time, a time when we can advance our ambitions and realize some of our goals.
The 24th of December has Venus sextile Jupiter, followed on Christmas Day of the 25th with a Cancer Full Moon, Mercury trine Jupiter and Uranus ending its five-month retrograde cycle and turning direct. Just as this holy day in Christianity celebrates the birth of Jesus who would become the Christ, this time of year with the Winter Solstice in the northern latitudes celebrates the birth of light at the greatest point of darkness.
From this point and with the signature of the Winter Solstice, we can take our shapeshifting experiences of recent times and now focus on those projects and involvements that have real meaning for us and give our lives true purpose.
We may feel as if we have gained a second wind and that we are more on track of walking our individual pathway and engaging our personal journey. We might feel divinely guided as the Sun sextiles Neptune on the 29th with a sense that our inner knowing and intuition will lead us in the right direction.
The 29th also has Mercury square Mars. We might want to hold our cards close to our chest, for some people may sense the changes we have gone through and our reinvigoration and may question whether our intentions are reflective of who we have been or an aspect of a new characteristic with which they are unfamiliar. Let’s keep in mind that whenever we make significant changes and go through our transitions that become radical transformations, not everyone we know will necessarily applaud or encourage the shifts within us. Very few people embrace much less like change. People prefer a certain stasis. If someone becomes aware of major changes going on within us, it can scare them. Not only does it demand that they change their definition of us based upon their experience of who we are, but it also raises an undercurrent question as to whether they have to make significant changes as well.
The 30th of December has Venus exiting Scorpio, a Sign of its Detriment where Venus is not at all comfortable, to enter Sagittarius. We may seek to broaden our social circle and incorporate people of different backgrounds and different cultures as we look to expand our own perspective and extend ourselves beyond the normal enclosures of our lives. This movement will also add fuel to the Mutable Sign T-Square but the influence will be felt more as we enter the new year of 2016.
