On February 7th at 8:00 PM local time, the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi will begin with the opening ceremonies. Earlier that day, Mercury will have turned from direct motion to retrograde motion.
With a Chechen terrorist leader in July stating plans to disrupt the Sochi winter Olympics and twin suicide bombings carried out on December 29th and 30th in the important transportation hub of Volgograd, concern has been raised about possible terrorist activity directly impacting the games themselves.
Certainly, the astrological chart for this year’s Winter Olympics does not seem auspicious. Combined with Mercury having turned retrograde, Mercury is also in a Sign of its Detriment, Pisces, and Mercury is conjunct Neptune, the ruler of Pisces.
The liability towards communication problems, communication breakdowns, lack of clarity and confusion cannot be overstated.
News reports indicate that as many as four ‘black widows’, female suicide bombers, may have penetrated the security ring of steel put into place by Russian authorities.
The question as to whether any terrorist incidents occur during the Sochi games will be determined by the Russian police and security forces, of which there are said to be as many as 40,000 at the Sochi games.
But with Mercury just having turned retrograde, not only must the force be with security personnel but so too must clear-headedness, clarity of vision and intuitive foresight.
Let’s hope and pray that everything goes smoothly despite the difficult energies indicated.
