The astrology for this week of May 20th through the 26th shifts the energy dramatically as we go from a heavy emphasis on solid, stalwart Taurus to a strong influence of airy, light-hearted Gemini.
The week begins with the Sun exiting Taurus to enter Gemini. We continue with a Stellium of four planets in Taurus with Venus, Mercury, Jupiter, and Uranus all in the Venus-ruled Fixed Earth Sign. By the end of the week, the Taurus Stellium will end as Venus on Thursday and Jupiter on Saturday exit Taurus to enter Gemini and trigger a Stellium in the Mutable Air Sign as Venus and Jupiter join the Sun in Gemini.
There is a lightening up that goes on as we move through this week. We may become more scattered, less focused, but engaging the sentiment that variety is the spice of life.
Despite a somewhat casual approach to matters, we have the opportunity of considering a vast array of possibilities for our future — what we want to do, who we want to be, where we want to go, etc.
The Sagittarius Full Moon on Thursday accentuates spreading our wings with a liability of engaging too much, some of our engagements possibly proving to be only castles in the air. The two ‘good guys’ of the planetary realm, Venus and Jupiter, are conjunct, and we may be feeling that now is the time to let the good times roll. Venus exits its own Sign of Taurus and enters Gemini.
Lifting a heaviness from our shoulders and releasing the ties that bind may be the tenor of these next few weeks. As we let go of encumbrances, we can sample potentials and embrace a far lighter attitude to life. Let the victim-minded engage their dystopian future of civil discord, violence, wars, pandemics, food insecurities and the like. For us, we could see all the wondrous realities occurring in our world just as nature blossoms, comes into the full bloom of springtime, and paints the landscape in a swath of vibrant colors.
The end of the week and over the weekend may have us enjoying social occasions as we celebrate the unofficial start to summer with the long Memorial Day holiday weekend. ‘The more the merrier’ might have us going from one event to another to yet another. With Jupiter exiting Taurus to enter Gemini, a Stellium in the Mutable Air Sign is triggered as Jupiter joins Venus and the Sun in Gemini.
Jupiter will transit Gemini for the next twelve months. Jupiter is in Detriment in Gemini, and the liability is to take on too much but only in a cursory manner. Conversations can reveal the gift of gab and an interest in any number of things but without deep thought or intense penetration.
This week triggers a major shift in energy and a welcome one for us to reflect on the statement: “Life’s too mysterious, don’t take it serious.”
Monday, May 20th – Whittling Down – Moon Void-of-Course, Pluto, Sun Gemini. Monday begins this week with the Libra Moon Void-of-Course. The Libra Moon makes no connections to the planets. Later in the day, the Moon moves into Scorpio where the Moon squares Pluto and triggers a Fixed Sign T-Square with the Moon opposed Mercury on Tuesday. The Sun ends its transit of Taurus and enters Gemini [8:59 AM EDT], the first of three planets this week to exit Taurus and enter Gemini with Venus entering Gemini on Wednesday and Jupiter entering Gemini on Saturday. This day can be one where our attitude and disposition are unleashed with a tendency for us to see all sorts of possibilities and potentials. We might feel like a kid in a candy shop with a desire to savor everything no matter the consequences of our actions. Even if we go overboard today on our sampling and considering a wide realm of prospects, the latter part of the day could have us whittling down some of our considerations. Focusing on those involvements that truly speak to us would help us discard the non-essential and irrelevant, matters that only serve as needless distractions. From the many to the select few is a way that we might see this day. The entry of the Sun into Gemini begins a four-week free-for-all with us here, there, and everywhere. And why not? It’s springtime, the season of new beginnings, renewals, and renaissance.
Tuesday, May 21st – Wants, Needs – Mercury. Tuesday continues with the Scorpio Moon with the Moon today opposed Mercury. Last evening, we had the Scorpio Moon square Pluto triggering a Fixed Sign T-Square that is completed on this Tuesday morning with the Moon opposed Mercury. Although we are more interested in throwing wide our engagements, wanting to try out any number of activities, a healthy discernment of what we want compared to what we need could help us avoid taking on too much and spinning our wheels engaged in silly involvements. We do need to avoid acting like spoiled children whose eyes are too big for their stomach and just want this, that, and the other, and then some more. Discretion and selectivity are rare qualities in our entitled society, but it would be wise for us to seriously consider what we choose to take on rather than jumping in with both feet into a myriad of different projects. Restraint is called for, a behavior that will become increasingly important as we move through the next four weeks with the barrage of Gemini influence. During this time, it will be important to be mindful of our finances and our expenses.
Wednesday, May 22nd – Strategizing before Acting – Saturn, Uranus, Sun, Pluto. Wednesday continues with the Scorpio Moon with the Moon today trine Saturn early in the morning, and the Moon opposed Uranus later in the day. The Sun trines Pluto. Cleaning up our base of operations and strategizing our day would help us get on the right track to start the day. We can focus on what is truly important for us to engage with the recognition that we are concentrating on the most significant and discarding the superfluous. We are not interested in wasting our time. It would also be suggested that we stay aware of changing conditions. Even the best made plans can be upset by unexpected variables, which might be the case towards the end of the day and early tomorrow. During these volatile times of the paradigm shift, it is essential that we stay mindful of dramatic shifts that could occur without notice. We constantly need to be alert and adaptable to the shifts and changes that happen during these times. Let’s make our plans today but in pencil with a large eraser and not be too attached to achieving what we wish to accomplish the way we wish to carry them out. Let’s keep in mind the Taoist saying of ‘bend like a reed or break like an oak.’
Thursday, May 23rd – Divine Design – Venus, Jupiter, Neptune, Moon Void-of-Course, Pluto, Sagittarius Full Moon, Sun, Venus Gemini. Thursday has the Moon completing its transit of Scorpio during the overnight hours with the Scorpio Moon opposed both Venus and Jupiter, and the Moon trine Neptune. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for almost an hour with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Scorpio and before the Moon enters Sagittarius early in the day. The Sagittarius Moon sextiles Pluto in orb of the Full Moon when the Sun opposes the Moon [9:53 AM EDT]. Venus conjuncts Jupiter, and Venus sextiles Neptune. Jupiter sextiles Neptune. Venus exits Taurus, a Sign Venus rules, and enters Gemini [4:30 PM EDT]. This is a day that could have us feeling like it’s made in heaven. Everything can fit neatly into place virtually of its own accord. We could use this day to contemplate our next steps, our future goals, and how best to expand our involvements. We are about to enter a period of four weeks when we could be all over the place, so it would be wise today for us to determine a best practices approach and a well-considered itinerary regarding how we choose to move forward. This is a primo day so long as we don’t get carried away with ourselves. Staying grounded and focused allow us to broaden our reach and successfully attain our goals.
Friday, May 24th – Work then Play – Saturn, Mars. This Friday has the Sagittarius Moon square Saturn, and the Moon trine Mars almost at the same time. This is a day for us to rein in our enthusiasm and take care of what we need to get done. We might want to take off for an early long holiday weekend, but responsibilities could hold us back. This is the beginning of the Memorial Day weekend in the US, often considered the unofficial start to summer. Let’s deal with what we wish to complete before we head out the door. If we are going away, we might want to add on additional time due to traffic delays, travel frustrations, and liable storm systems. We may feel stymied by circumstance or our obligations, some of which could be home and family-related, but to avoid resentments or bursts of anger I would suggest we deal with any demands before we launch into our weekend activities. With an emphasis on ‘me’ activities, we are liable to be a little too much for some people. Narcissism and self-absorption would create unnecessary difficulties. This day can begin a fun weekend, but this Friday suggests we work first then play.
Saturday, May 25th – Party All the Time – Neptune, Moon Void-of-Course, Venus, Pluto, Jupiter Gemini. Saturday continues with the Sagittarius Moon with the Moon today square Neptune before the Moon goes Void-of-Course for not quite an hour as the Moon completes its transit of Sagittarius without making any further connections to the planets and before the Moon moves into Capricorn where today the Capricorn Moon makes no connections to the planets. Venus trines Pluto, and Jupiter exits Taurus and enters Gemini [7:15 PM EDT] to begin its year-long transit of Gemini, a Sign in which Jupiter is in Detriment. Jupiter triggers a Stellium in Gemini as Jupiter joins the Sun and Venus in the Mutable Air Sign. With this weekend being the unofficial start to summer in the US, we may be hell-bent to enjoy ourselves with indulgences likely. Fascinating social interactions would allow for lofty discussions of possibilities, some of which may be fantasies of the mind but enlivening and exciting, nonetheless. There is a levity to the day, moods lightening up, no matter the weather. No parade rainers for us today, even if we are one of those people drenched under atmospheric precipitation. A ‘feel good’ attitude can be contagious, and we are likely to stay away from news but crank up the tunes. Although the liability to go off the deep end is possible, the Moon coming into Capricorn can keep us grounded. It’s time to enjoy ourselves. Summer fun.
Sunday, May 26th – Bop ‘Til You Drop – Mercury, Saturn, Mars. Sunday continues with the Capricorn Moon with the Moon today trine Mercury, the Moon sextile Saturn, and the Moon square Mars to end the day. Although this is a long holiday weekend in the US celebrating the unofficial start to summer, this Sunday could have us highly industrious. We can accomplish a great amount, tending to the particulars, and preparing ourselves for outdoor summer activities. Whether we are off and away or just staying home, we are likely fully engaged today. Recreation, re-creation, or home projects, whatever we are engaging we are likely to exert a great amount of energy with the likelihood of exhausting ourselves by the end of the day. Although Sundays have traditionally been considered a day of rest, there’s little rest for us today as we go about having fun and participating in recreational activities, or we spend our time fixing things up and giving ourselves time to pursue working on items on our ‘to do’ list. Let’s try to be measured in our expenditure of energy today, although the liability will be for us to bop until we drop. Thankfully, we may have tomorrow off as we complete the long Memorial Day holiday weekend.
