The astrology for this week of September 5th through the 11th of 2022 has its share of good times and frustrating times all leading up to the Pisces Full Moon over the weekend.
The week begins with Labor Day in the US, the last day of the long holiday weekend that often signals the unofficial end to the summer season. Recent delays in getting from point A to point B can be evident as we try to get from our summertime activities into the swing of our regular matters.
Venus exits Leo to enter Virgo with a liability of our interest in good times with good friends diminishing to a more critical and analytical approach to relationships. Venus is in Fall in Virgo with the focus of love, beauty and companionship of Venus tainted by perfectionist tendencies, questioning one’s self-worth and the worth of other people, and a more reserved nature, a far contrast to Venus having been in Leo. It would seem like much of the summertime spark has been extinguished as we look to our regular, normal activities and leave behind the hearty embrace of enjoying life and going for the gusto.
Although we are likely getting back on track, our thoughts and desires may have us consider possibilities beyond the norm with a recognition that during this paradigm shift ‘all things are possible’. Such an attitude could provide the welcoming mat to the magic and mini-miracles that are all part of the paradigm shift from linear, sequential reality into the asequential reality already beginning to occur.
Even as we get a second wind, reenergized by our summer downtime, the push-pull between old and new, between who we have been and who we are in process of be-ing, might have us flummoxed as we deal with the past and its various issues, all the while that our feet and intentions are moving more towards our future.
We come into the weekend with Murphy back on the scene. Late on Friday for some, early Saturday for others, Mercury turns retrograde, re-employing Murphy’s Law of ‘whatever could go wrong can go wrong’ for the next three-week period. Major commitments, significant decisions are better postponed until after Mercury turns direct on the 2nd of October and even better after Mercury comes out of its ‘shadow’ on October 17th when Mercury arrives at the degree in which Mercury had turned retrograde.
The Pisces Full Moon on Saturday reacquaints us with the otherworldly, the ability to see beyond the looking glass, pierce the veil of Maya, and enter the world of possibilities, if we don’t belittle prospects by being overly analytical, critical, or unbelieving.
We end the week and the weekend with a thrust of energy as our innovative abilities come to the fore. Doing different things or doing things differently can spur a ‘can do’ attitude, no matter the conditions and circumstances operating around us or in the world-at-large.
Monday, September 5th – Pushing Through – Sun, Lunar T-Square, Jupiter, Mercury, Venus Virgo. Monday is Labor Day in the US, Labour Day in Canada, and the day could prove laborious. The early part of the day has the Capricorn Moon triggering a Cardinal Sign T-Square with the Capricorn Moon square Jupiter in Aries, and the Moon square Mercury in Libra. Late in the day, the Moon trines the Sun. Venus exits Leo to enter Virgo [12:05 AM EDT], a Sign of Fall for Venus where Venus feels a little sour and less engaging than other Sign transits. Delays may be part of this Monday, and we need to have patience and persistence to push through any frustrations that we might encounter. Although this day for many may be a holiday, we could be more interested in our goals than just having a good time. We may feel blocked by our own impetuousness or put upon by someone’s demands. We have to be wary that we don’t accept a belief that the world is against us. Let’s just acknowledge how dysfunctional so many people and consequently so many situations have become. This is not the ‘normal’ of pre-pandemic days, and we would avoid a great deal of consternation if we accept that during these transitional, transformative times things are not going to run like clockwork. Whether we have been traveling during this holiday weekend or just enjoying at-home festivities, the evening hours provide the energy for us to get back on track. Oh, what a relief it is.
Tuesday, September 6th – Otherworldly – Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, Moon Void-of-Course. Tuesday continues with the Capricorn Moon with the Moon today trine Uranus, the Moon sextile Neptune, and the Moon conjunct Pluto. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for six hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Capricorn and before the Moon enters Aquarius at the end of the day. Hopefully, we used this past holiday weekend to step off the track, catch our breath, and take time for ourselves to recharge and reinvigorate. If we did so, this Tuesday could be one magical day when everything fits neatly into place, and quite possibly not so much of our making as much as our being open to receive the magic and mystery of these times. The transcendental, higher octave planets are engaged, and there can be an otherworldly sense to this day. It might seem that no matter how crazy things seem to be in the world, and it would be important for us to recognize the playbook of the narrative to spotlight one particular issue for a period of time until switching to the next issue, then the next, back to one, and then another, all with the intention of keeping us off-balance, compliant and in a state of anxiety and perpetual fear; the light sometimes shines through the dark, a guiding light that reaffirms ‘all is right in the world’. And so it may be for us on this Tuesday, the opportunity of clearing the way, easing our path, and perhaps with little effort, or at least less effort, on our part. We just have to be open to receive and appreciate that there are greater forces than ourselves working on our behalf.
Wednesday, September 7th – New Directions – Jupiter, Lunar Grand Trine, Mercury, Mars. The dawning of a new day can bring a brightness and a sparkle to our everyday lives. Wednesday has the Aquarius Moon sextile Jupiter and the Moon triggering an Air Grand Trine as the Aquarius Moon trines Mercury in Libra and the Moon trines Mars in Gemini. Whether we witnessed incidents of magic or experienced ‘ah-ha’ moments yesterday, this Wednesday may have us feeling at the top of our game, and as though the fog has lifted and that we are going through an awakening, increased mindfulness that apprises us of the wide range of possibilities we could encounter. We can sense that our own greater understanding is happening to other people too, that we are no longer a stranger in a strange land but that there are other people waking up to the prospect of having heaven on earth and not in some distant, future realm, all the while that we are apparently slogging through a man-made dystopia. Our conversations today might be scintillating and encouraging with an appreciation that the light dispels the darkness. Let’s express our confidence in what I used as my campaign slogan for the US House in 2000: brighter days through better ways.
Thursday, September 8th – It’s Back – Uranus, Saturn, Moon Void-of-Course. Thursday could have us feeling that we are going from yesterday’s sublime to today’s ridiculousness. Last year’s nemesis of the Saturn Uranus square is engaged in the early morning hours as the Aquarius Moon squares Uranus and the Moon conjuncts Saturn. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for sixteen hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Aquarius and before the Moon enters Pisces early on Friday morning. Unexpected situations could arise as we awaken, which might knock the wind out of our sails and leave us groping through much of the day. Past issues unresolved, concerns of other people and surprising developments may force us to put our intended plans for the day on hold as we address matters we had not foreseen. Let’s keep in mind that astrology and life are both about cycles with ups and downs and exaggerated during this time of paradigm shift. We do not have to be thrown for a loop even if today seems to dampen yesterday’s exuberance. Yesterday could have provided the necessary relief for us to deal with any of today’s issues or problems. There is not a great deal of energy during this day except to attend to other people’s worries, so it would be wise for us not to have great expectations, especially the expectation that yesterday’s highs can be replicated on this Thursday.
Friday, September 9th – Convoluted Times – Lunar T-Square, Venus, Mars, Mercury retrograde. The Moon enters Pisces early on Friday morning with the Moon today triggering a Mutable Sign T-Square as the Pisces Moon opposes Venus in Virgo early in the day and the Moon squares Mars in Gemini late in the day. Friday ends with Mercury turning retrograde [11:38 PM EDT]. We are also a day before early tomorrow’s Pisces Full Moon with emotions heightened. Whether yesterday knocked us off track or merely dampened our positive feelings with a dash of negativity, Friday could have our anxiety ratcheted up. We might question whether we have taken care of necessary responsibilities, addressed specific details, and may feel as though we are being victimized by the conditions of these times. Confusion and convoluted situations could have us worrying about this, that and any other number of things over which we have little, if any, control. With Mercury turning retrograde, Murphy’s Law of ‘whatever can go wrong could go wrong’ is engaged. Let’s keep in mind that things get squirrely when Mercury changes direction and during the three-week cycle of Mercury retrograde. It would be wise for us to postpone significant decisions and avoid long-term commitments unless we have given serious thought to any such matters prior to Mercury turning retrograde. This Mercury retrograde back through Libra initially focuses on issues with relationships. With Mars in Gemini and now in the second decanate of Gemini [Libra], we have to find balance between our personal interests and those of other people and seek collaboration and mutual respect. Let’s not let our nerves or anxiety get the better of us, but rather maintain as much of a calm as possible during these tumultuous, disruptive times.
Saturday, September 10th – Reveries – Pisces Full Moon, Sun, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, Moon Void-of-Course. Saturday begins with the Pisces Full Moon [5:59 AM EDT] as the Moon opposes the Sun. The Pisces Moon today also sextiles Uranus in Taurus, the Moon conjuncts Neptune, and the Moon sextiles Pluto in Capricorn. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for almost six and half hours as the Moon finishes its transit of Pisces without making any further connections to the planets and before the Moon enters Aries early on Sunday morning. This Saturday is also the first full day of Mercury retrograde. During these times of paradigm shift when we are moving from linear, sequential reality into asequential reality, there can be times when the empirical is at odds with the possible. Similar to this past Tuesday, the energies suggest that we entertain the fanciful, those prospects that might even seem implausible, and appreciate that in this paradigm shift we are moving from being in control of situations to being co-creators with the magical universal energies unfolding. If we would use this day to allow our imagination to flow without censoring, monitoring or editing, we could come up with some interesting insights as to how we can best proceed in realizing our dreams. Often reveries are the key to unlocking the vast realm of possibilities and making us aware of alternatives which we had not previously considered.
Sunday, September 11th – Go Your Own Way – Jupiter, Mercury, Mars, Sun, Uranus. Sunday has the Moon entering Aries where today the Aries Moon conjuncts Jupiter, the Moon opposes Mercury, and the Moon sextiles Mars. The Sun trines Uranus. With the Moon entering Aries, we begin a new monthly cycle of the Moon’s transit through the Zodiac. We may be feeling upbeat, optimistic, and primed for new beginnings. Although someone may protest any deviation from our norm, let’s keep in mind that our changes can upset various people. It disrupts their semblance of security, demands an alteration in their perception of us, and even forces them to consider what changes they themselves might have to make. But change is not merely inevitable during these times. It is essential in the transformation process we are going through as individuals and as a society. This Sunday we might have to go our own way, since we are unlikely to succumb to the restrictions imposed by other people. This day is a good day for us to stretch into new projects, new interests, and greater exploration of our possibilities. We do not have to feel compelled to commit to any one thing or things, only the sampling of new directions for ourselves.
