This week we may be feeling the wind to our back and things progressing forward. There may be some hitches in our way, possible tornado-like winds at times, but generally this can be a highly productive week when we can launch forward with new activities and develop interests that emphasize our personal tastes. Not that we shall go blindly into the night. Even if we begin projects spontaneously, we are likely to be strategic in our planning and adept at being resourceful and getting the most bang for our buck.

We start the week in a rather moody but visionary manner.
Our intuitive sense is strong and our ability to concentrate on the fundamentals and get down to basics is sharp. There’s nothing going to be put over on us. We are too on top of things to let anything get by us. We do need to be aware that people could play on our sympathies and our empathy. But even if we sacrifice some time to help someone else out, we are likely to manage our time expeditiously. We are not looking to waste time this week, nor waste our energies on the superfluous and the meaningless. We have too much intention regarding our own projects to get thrown off track.

While we begin the week with great sensitivity and strong feelings, our attention is riveted on what we want to do and how we want to do it. We are not looking at being limited or restricted and we may be far more interested in initiations than maintenance.

We might also find that we are doing the Texas two-step, with one foot forward, two feet back; two feet forward, one foot back. Reunions and reconnections could highlight some of this week and we might have to put some of our new interests on hold as we tend to a recapitulation with people from our past. We do have the energy to juggle, to work with time in a subjective manner, whereby we can get more done by focus and then switching than we might be able to accomplish at other times.

We could also experience that some people are just too needy and demanding too much of our time. We could feel aggravated and even create irritations in our relationships if we feel that other people are getting in our way or asking too much of us.

The latter part of the week and over the weekend, we may attend to various details and responsibilities that we are committed to. We may have strategized our plans earlier in the week, being diverted by personal matters during the week, but at the end of the week and over the weekend we might put into practice more of our plans.

We end the weekend with a Solar Eclipse at the time of the Gemini New Moon and the Sun having just entered into Gemini. With the Sun in Gemini we reinforce a Mutable Sign T-Square that will go on until early July. We may be juggling a great deal, having too much on our plate, and getting overwhelmed to the point of missteps and miscalculations.

Before we get there, let’s use this week to accomplish as much as we possibly can, for the Force is truly with us.

Monday, May 14th – Dream a Little Dream – Mercury, Pluto. Monday begins the week with the Pisces Moon sextile both Mercury and Pluto. Mercury also trines Pluto. Our sensitivities are strong and our moods can sway, but we have the ability to feel what is right and how best to reach our goals. We can imagine how things should be, take a pragmatic approach by which to achieve our dreams and wrap it all up in a pretty package that is appealing to other people. This day is a day not to waste, for we can be spot-on with our decisions and by our sense of how things should go. We might also be purchasing necessary equipment, the tools essential to making our dreams come true. This is not a day to rush the river but rather patiently and strategically take things step by step. Timing is everything and we may have our rhythm and pace down to the most perfected way of doing things. If situations have been perplexing or we have experienced difficulty in finding solutions, today allows us to trust our instincts and draw upon laser-like vision to see what is going on and how best to approach the manner for a successful conclusion. Let’s draw upon our own resources and talents and forego the input of other people or the cacophony of consensus opinion.

Tuesday, May 15th – Waking Up on the Wrong Side of the Bed – Jupiter, Venus, Sun, Moon Void-of-Course, Venus retrograde. We could start the day enthused by what we plan to do, but someone could throw a monkey wrench into the spokes of our wheels and create an upset to our well-considered schedule. Tuesday has the Pisces Moon sextile Jupiter, square Venus and sextile the Sun to begin the day, in the early morning hours. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for close to ten hours making no further connections to the planets as it finishes its transit of Pisces and before entering Aries later in the day. Venus also turns retrograde today. This is a day to shake our head and engage a sense of bemusement at human foibles, other people’s as well as our own. If we don’t take things in a lighthearted manner today, we could get upset by disruptions or demands from someone near and dear to us. Should we go there, we could create a needless division in our relationships. Although we might enjoy the camaraderie of other people, our breeziness in our interactions with other people could turn and we might find ourselves hitting a sour note with someone. Let’s keep in mind that these times call for flexibility and adaptability with the recognition that no matter how much we plan or how focused we may be, there are always unanticipated variables that can spring up and create a mess of our intended schedule. This Tuesday could be one of those days. We could start the day with great intentions, hit a few bumps in the road and then go off and sulk, feeling resentful and victimized. Why go there when we should realize by now that timing is everything, that there are times when we can easily slide through all situations, other times when the slightest irritation could upset the applecart.

Wednesday, May 16th – Come Hell or High Water – Uranus, Pluto, Mars. Wednesday has the Aries Moon, which today has the Moon conjunct Uranus and square Pluto. Mars trines Pluto giving greater emphasis to the Earth Grand Trine that we have been influenced by since last November. We may be a law unto ourselves today. We might want to do whatever we want to do, and do it in the way we choose to do it. No matter the obstacles, no matter the restraints, this is a day when we can move mountains. Our determination is unstoppable. Although we have the power and energy and persistence to do what we feel we need to do, let’s not waste the energy on some silly involvement just to prove our independence and our autonomy. We are not interested in pleasing other people today, only ourselves. With such a disposition, let’s channel our attitude and our focus into areas that have some real purpose and are truly meaningful to us. Even if we meet restrictions in the way, we can think outside the box and determine how to deal with any impediments so that they neither slow us down nor bring our forward movement to a halt. This is a day when we can get a great deal done, no matter the conditions or circumstances that we encounter. By focusing ourselves on the essential involvements, we can accomplish a great deal come hell or high water.

Thursday, May 17th – Honey Not Vinegar – Venus, Saturn, Moon Void-of-Course. Thursday has the Aries Moon sextile Venus and opposed Saturn. Later in the day, the Moon goes Void-of-Course for over twelve hours making no further connections to the planets as it finishes its transit of Aries and before entering Taurus tomorrow. We may assume that everyone is on the same page with us, but we might also experience that someone is not. We can want what we want, but few of us are islands unto ourselves. Our lives are intertwined with other people — some times that is a blessing, other times we might assume it to be a curse. Those times when we sense our relationships are a blessing are also often those times when people are agreeing with us. Those times when we believe our relationships are a curse are often those times when other people disagree with us or stand in the way of us getting what we want the way that we want it. Today could be one of those days when we might feel put upon by someone else. Either they may be making demands on us or they could be standing in our way. They might try to convince us that their blockage of our plans is in our best interests, but we just might not want to hear it. Let’s be certain not to create great discord in our relationships today. Let’s keep in mind the old saying that we ‘can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar’. After a brief dustup early in the day and with the wind knocked out of our sails, the energy dies down. We might move into a sense of resentment, or we could change our focus and recognize that there are times when limitations can actually work to our benefit and allow us to take a sideways trajectory or divert our attention by doing something else instead of our planned activity. Getting out of doors, engaging an activity that is uplifting and making plans to get out of Dodge in the future would all be remedies for any discontent that the morning might have generated.

Friday, May 18th – Keeping it in Mind – Neptune. Friday has the Moon in Taurus and the Moon sextile Neptune. If we would stand our ground and not be swayed by distractions or opinions, we could realize the steps necessary to get ever closer to the realization of our dreams. We have the patience and the foresight today to both strategize and move the ball forward, getting ever close to the achievement of our goals. This is a day to take things step by step, all the while that we are flexible and adaptable to shifting conditions. Reflection today is an important attribute to keep us ever mindful of possibilities and prospects we may not have taken into account or that evolve as things unfold. Let’s keep in mind that these times are volatile times, times when things can change the parameters of a situation in a nanosecond of time. By keeping our ear to the railroad track and taking note of even subtle changes, we can work expeditiously and engage the notion of working smarter rather than harder. We can also keep on track, even if the track seems to take some interesting twists and turns. This is a day when we can blend our intuitive sense with a ‘can do’ attitude. We just need to be certain that we are not diverted or distracted by the cacophony of input from external sources.

Saturday, May 19th – The Earth Crescendo – Lunar Grand Trine, Pluto, Mars. Saturday is a day when we can take care of various details, tidy things up and wrap up loose ends. The Taurus Moon today reinforces the Earth Grand Trine with the Moon trine Pluto in Capricorn and the Moon trine Mars in Virgo. This is also the last day of the Sun’s transit through Taurus, with the Sun set to exit Taurus and enter Gemini tomorrow. We are also in the dark side of the Moon with tomorrow’s entrance of the Sun into Gemini also the time of the Solar Eclipse with the Sun Moon conjunction and New Moon in Gemini. Although the Earth Grand Trine that we have experienced since November continues through mid-June, the power of the Earth Grand Trine will be lessening. This Saturday is a good day to deal with outstanding issues, lay the solid foundation stones of projects that we have already engaged and finish up matters that we would prefer not to bring into a less-focused time when we might start juggling any number of things, again. We may have been plodding along over the past several weeks, but the energy is about to ratchet up, so let’s use today to focus on completion, have our well-blueprinted plans in mind, and take care of specific details that could otherwise unravel when we are less focused and more easily distracted. We may be taking care of errands today, dealing with particular issues and using the day to bring closure rather than initiation.

Sunday, May 20th – Awaiting the Circus Back in Town – Mercury, Jupiter, Moon Void-of-Course, Solar Eclipse, Sun, Sun Gemini. We start Sunday with the Moon finishing its transit of Taurus. As it does so, the Moon conjuncts both Mercury and Jupiter. We may have our game plan firmly in mind but as paraphrased in poet Robert Burns’ admonition: ‘the best-laid plans of mice and men often go awry.’ And so it could be for us on this Sunday. Although we start the day focused with our intentions, we may discover that our plans do not mesh with the unfolding of circumstance. For while the day begins with the Moon in Taurus conjunct Mercury and Jupiter, the Moon then goes Void-of-Course for ten and a half hours making no further connections to the planets as it finishes its transit of Taurus and before entering Gemini. During this Void-of-Course Moon, the Sun exits Taurus to enter Gemini. The Moon later today moves into Gemini where it conjuncts the Sun and creates a Gemini New Moon and a Solar Eclipse. The energy shift may seem quite dramatic, as we move from a plodding, focused energy to a more scattered, easily diverted energy with a kaleidoscope of events, situations and people to match. We may feel as though we are moving into a time when it is increasingly evident that the Circus is back in town. Shall we be observers, participants or ringleaders in this circus maximus? No matter how we choose to play it, we are likely to see the clowns in full play. Discernment will be needed to keep us from being swayed by the hype, the image and the appearances that might have no connection to the true reality. Caveat to all!

This week we can effectively strategize and move our projects ever closer to realization and completion. This is a highly productive week, so long as we do not get distracted or diverted by unexpected events and surprising situations.

We start the week with our energy ramped up, ready to go, but we may be out of the starting gate before considering our schedule, checking our itinerary or even focusing on right direction. We may be full of ourselves as we look for exciting new forays and search for thrilling grand adventures. We just have to be careful not to trip over our fantasies or stumble over our daily responsibilities. More so early this week than ever before, we could easily buy into the sense of the grass being greener… somewhere other than where we are. We may be confident and optimistic and solely focused on expanding our interests and exploring new realms. The routine, usual and habitual will hold little appeal for us, for we are set to sail to new worlds and unwilling to heed advice. We are far more likely to throw caution to the wind. This wild exuberance could take us through Monday and Tuesday with our feet unlikely to touch the ground.

As we come into the mid-week, we hit the ground with a soft landing and a strong focus on a best practices approach to achieve our goals. The Earth Grand Trine is reinforced and we can combine our strategic plans with a spot-on intuitive understanding. This is a time for us to strategize and focus on what we want to accomplish and how best to go about doing so in the most expeditious manner possible. Although we might be tempted by distractions and sudden surprises which could be tantalizing, it would be wise for us to concentrate on the most meaningful projects and use the energy to get a great deal done. This Grand Trine that we have been enjoying since mid-November is good for another month, ending in mid-June, so let’s take advantage of the productive energies to manifest and use it to get things done.

The end of the week and over the weekend can be a time for us to step off the track, put aside our usual obligations and concentrate on social get-togethers and enthralling discussions. Reunions and reconnections this weekend could be both heart-warming and revelatory. Like a scavenger hunt, the weekend could provide us clues in regard to our next step and might offer a sense of uplift to build up our confidence. We end the weekend with enthusiasm and determination and a readiness to move ahead with optimism and a sense of invincibility combined with inevitability.

Monday, May 7th – Much To Do, Little Time To Do So – Lunar T-Square, Neptune, Mars, Uranus. We start the week with us fast out of the gate, ready to take on the world and then some, and a fervent desire to expand our activities and broaden our reach. The enthusiasm may be great in the abstract, a little harder to achieve in reality. While the week begins with the Moon in Sagittarius, this Sagittarius Moon creates a Mutable Sign T-Square as the Moon squares Neptune in Pisces and squares Mars in Virgo. We may have the exuberance but possibly not the due diligence. We could race out the door with good intentions, but our strategic planning could be more a belief in our confidence than a pragmatic approach to the day’s activities. We could find ourselves a little helter-skelter as we buy into ill-conceived notions and bounce from one thing to another without doing anything effectively. We could easily skip over details, make some off-the-wall assumptions and accept a belief that our confidence will make all things right. Although we could feel as though we have found ourselves in a blender, whirring around and even feeling pulverized, if we can avoid total exhaustion and a feeling of defeat, then we might also discover that confusion is in deed the starting point of wisdom. The day may begin with us stumbling and stubbing our toes, it might also allow us to let go of our sense of control over matters and become more open to doing things in a different way. We may start the day with a T-Square, but the Moon then trines Uranus. Like a Houdini getting out of chains and strait jackets, we could free ourselves of the conundrum at the beginning of the day or be freed by circumstance. No matter what our plans might be, our schedule may go askew and we could discover that the opportunity of the day lies beyond our periphery, just out of sight, but able to engage if we are open to receive the unusual and the unexpected.

Tuesday, May 8th – Cutting Through the Chatter – Venus, Saturn, Mercury. Tuesday continues with the Sagittarius Moon with the Moon today opposed Venus, sextile Saturn and trine Mercury. If we will tune our sensibilities to what we understand clearly and tune out the cacophony of input that is neither lucid nor on-target, this day could prove to be a day when we can devise our plans and present our ideas in a confident and winning manner. We may need to draw upon someone for a solid sounding board, someone who can critique and shape our ideas and focus our intentions. The problem with the beginning of this week is too much information and an inability to filter out the extraneous and the wrong information. We may need to draw upon advice from people who are objective and detached in order to hone our thoughts, ideas and our plans. We can cut through the chatter with a little help from our friend[s]. Our enthusiasm could create a greater picture and a bolder ambition for us than we could possibly manage effectively or bring to successful completion. These two days, Monday and Tuesday, could prove the saying of ‘our eyes bigger than our stomach’, although in this case our desires and our ambitions being larger than our capabilities or that circumstances warrant. ‘Less is more’ is a mantram we might want to keep in mind for Monday and Tuesday.

Wednesday, May 9th – Focusing Our Goals – Neptune, Uranus, Mars, Pluto, Mercury Taurus. Although the past two days could have had us going from here to there and possibly making a heap of trouble for ourselves, this Wednesday allows us to get back on track with due diligence and the right approach to attend to our plans and move our goals ahead. Wednesday has the Moon in Capricorn and the Moon today sextiles Neptune, squares Uranus, trines Mars and conjuncts Pluto. Mercury exits Aries to enter Taurus. With such an emphasis upon the Earth Element, this mid-week period allows us to get our feet back on the ground, to be more realistic about our goals and the means to achieve our goals, and provides the opportunity for us to address the truly meaningful in the most expeditious of ways. While our spontaneous nature might be dampened, we can be far more focused and willing to take care of what needs to be done. We do have to watch for tempting distractions that might appeal to our sense of autonomy and freedom of movement. If we divert our attention, we might do so as but a brief respite from our intensity of concentrating on a practical application of our energies and our resources. This Wednesday is a day when we can accomplish a great deal. We might draw upon our experience and our usual methodology, both of which would allow us to streamline our operations. This Wednesday might not be the most exciting of days, but it can be highly productive.

Thursday, May 10th – Trusting Our Instincts – Sun, Jupiter, Saturn, Mercury, Neptune. There are times when we need to go against the general consensus and buck someone else’s opinion. This Thursday can be one of those days. If we were productive yesterday, then this Thursday could have us building upon such effectiveness and be even more successful in accomplishing our projects and advancing our interests. The Earth Grand Trine is emphasized today, thanks to the Capricorn Moon trine both the Sun and Jupiter in Taurus and Mercury sextile Neptune. The Moon does square Saturn and therein lies the rub. Other people might not agree with our plans or our approach. They may critique our efforts, find them wanting, but today is a day for us to trust our instincts. Although we could be a little too generous or excessive today, our intuitive sense is ratcheted up severalfold. Even if we cannot persuade other people to the rightness of our actions, it would be wise for us not to fold our tent if we do not win universal approval of our plans. Let’s keep in mind that someone may know us by definition, based upon past experience, but they may not be totally aware of our skill set and our desire to develop our talents. Our gut feeling of what is appropriate might be far more accurate than past experience or other people’s critique. There are times when we have to have trust, engage blind faith and go against the currents of public opinion and general consensus. Today could be one of those times. Let’s take things step by step with a recognition that we might not be walking in a straight line but may need to take a sideways step every now and then to get to where we are going. In a two-dimensional world a straight line might be the shortest distance between two points, but in a three-dimensional world such a theorem just does not work. Let’s engage the three-dimensional, even fourth and fifth dimensional world, and realize that this straight line theorem may work in a two-dimensional world and in the abstract but would be completely wrong in true reality. Let’s trust our instincts today but with a willingness to evaluate and re-evaluate as we go along.

Friday, May 11th – A World of Possibilities – Mercury, Uranus. Friday has the Moon in Aquarius with the Moon square Mercury and sextile Uranus. We are far more interested in making future plans today than with focusing on our routine obligations. We may have had to thread the needle over the past two days, but if we have concentrated on what needs to be done in taking care of our plans, addressing pressing issues and dealing effectively with routine matters; then this Friday could start off with our engaging the weekend early. We may want to jump off the track, put aside our routine obligations and engage surprising developments. This is a day for us to raise our gaze from putting one foot in front of the other and embrace a world of possibilities. This is the 11th and in numerology the eleven is representative of the visionary, the dreamer, that person who can see possibilities within the abstract of materials. We could easily go on a bender today, engage possibilities that are seemingly impossible. And why not? We are moving into a paradigm where sequential progression gives way to asequential reality, where B may not follow A, and P might not be followed by Q. Our world of possibilities is limitless, even the seemingly impossible being possible. The more we can step off the track today, not limit ourselves by either our expectations or a sense of containment, the more likely we are to experience surprising developments and a wonder of things occurring without our making them happen, a world of serendipity and synchronicity with things arising out of the blue.

Saturday, May 12th – Good Times But At What Expense – Sun, Jupiter, Lunar Grand Trine, Venus, Saturn. Friday and Saturday we need to keep a firm grip on our expenditures. We might have a tendency to be extravagant and overly generous. The Aquarius Moon squares the planets in Taurus: yesterday Mercury, today the Moon squares both the Sun and Jupiter. Although we might easily overspend and step off into extravagance and excess, we could justify our expenses as necessary investments into our future goals. Justifications might ease our consciousness but they could also ease our resources, lightening our checkbook and depleting our asset base. As the day progresses, our tendency to indulgence and overdoing could drop away. We might attend instead to get-togethers with good friends, reconnections and reunions with people we have not seen for a while. The Aquarius Moon creates a Grand Trine with the Moon trine Venus in Gemini and the Moon trine Saturn in Libra. This day could have us stepping off the track of our usual scenario and reacquainting ourselves with people from our past and engaging in fun events with others. Although this Saturday seems replete with gatherings and social occasions, we might want to put a cap on how we present ourselves and to what expense we are willing to go to impress others. We can have a great time with friends today, but let’s avoid grandstanding or showcasing our extravagance.

Sunday, May 13th – Feeling Good and Expressing It – Sun, Jupiter, Neptune, Mercury, Mars. Sunday could have us feeling optimistic, confident and enthusiastic about… ourselves. The Sun conjuncts the Sun, and Mercury trines Mars. The Moon moves into Pisces where it conjuncts Neptune and opposes Mars. We may be feeling good about ourselves and intent on having other people show us some respect. Not that we need people to fall down at our feet in worshipful reverence, although we might not mind that and even sinfully expect it. We want to put on the Ritz today, show ourselves off to the best of our ability and possibly impress other people with our allure and our success. But are people presenting a Hollywood set, whereby the appearance presents a together and luxurious image, all the while that the façade is held up by two by fours with no real content behind the scene? Possibly so. This is a day when the image can be enticing and seductive, but the reality might not match the appearance. We need to take everything with a grain of salt today. We could easily buy into how things are presented to us without our taking the time for due diligence and seeing if truly the reality matches the appearance. We may be excessive and extravagant today, expecting nothing less than the best for ourselves. This day could border on the shallow and the superficial. If we go there or buy into it from other people’s display, then we could find ourselves engaging the old saying that ‘if we dance to the music, we pay to the piper’. Forget taking things with a grain of salt today. We might need a boulder of salt instead in order to cut through the display and to get to the heart of the matter.

This May could prove a little schizophrenic with the month beginning with strong Earth energies and ending with an accent on the Air Element with the Sun having moved into Gemini, the Sign of the Twins, and a Stellium of three planets in the Mutable Air Sign. The twins can be a split personality, even multiple personalities, all reminiscent of the 1963 Lou Christie pop song ‘Two Faces Have I’.

Yes this month of May, sometimes referred to as the ‘merry month of May’, can have its ups and downs. But what month, what week and even now what day, doesn’t have its roller coaster of ups and downs?

The month begins with a strong emphasis on the Earth Grand Trine that has been influencing us since mid-November. We may be looking at planting our seeds of new projects, moving things along, and all with a solid, even plodding, manner. We are looking at taking care of details, focusing on the specifics, all the while keeping our eye on the ball and concentrating on the most meaningful and important facets of our lives.

We are still balancing our personal interests with the needs of other people. We can use people we trust as a solid sounding board, helping to temper our enthusiasm, restraining our impulsiveness and fine-tuning our approach so that haste does not make waste.

This balance, sometimes a push pull, between our personal needs and those of others could be stressed on the 5th when Mercury opposes Saturn on the day of the Scorpio Full Moon. We could feel a little down, hampered by our responsibilities and putting on blinders to see only that which we want to see and only that which lies straight ahead of us.

While we might feel a little irritated, even aggravated, by other people’s input, such detached perspective could keep us from stepping in it, overdoing things or heading off with great confidence but little patience. Otherwise, we might be lemmings heading the parade and moving quickly towards the precipice. We have to constantly evaluate and re-evaluate whether our desires are truly meaningful and self-fulfilling.

This is also a time when we need to look at our resources and, more importantly, be resourceful in regard to our involvements, our finances and our plans for the future.

We may do a major Spring cleaning in this first week of May, getting rid of stuff that no longer works for us and creating room for things that are more in synch with our essential selves. It would be wise for us to note what is going on in the world at large, for the influence of Scorpio that we feel around the 5th of May could give us a heads-up regarding energies and areas we might have to more significantly address from this Autumn period of 2012 through 2014 when Saturn transits Scorpio.

The mid-May period can be a time when we are feeling at the top of our game. It is a time when Nature is in full blossom, and we may be feeling something similar within ourselves.

On the 9th, Mercury exits Aries and enters Taurus adding greater influence to the Earth Grand Trine and joining the Sun in its transit of the Fixed Earth Sign. Mercury sextiles Neptune on the 10th, Mercury trines Mars on the 13th and Mercury trines Pluto on the 14th. Also on the 13th, the Sun conjuncts Jupiter. On the 16th, Mars trines Pluto.

This mid-May period can be a time when we are considering purchases and justifying them as necessary. We may be enthusiastic and confident, feeling able to meet any challenge and not merely survive but thrive even during these volatile times. If we avoid rushing the river, we could strategize a best practices approach, come up with the most effective and expeditious ways of achieving our goals, and have the focus in mind to convince even the loudest naysayer that our intentions and our plans are well-considered with a strong hint of brilliance.

Our thinking can be incisive and we can develop strategies to accomplish our goals concentrating both on the necessary details and on the bigger picture. This mid-May period allows us to hone our plans and focus our intentions.

Even if we have felt discouraged or blocked as a result of changing conditions over the past few years, mid-May has us with a fire in our belly and a focus in our mind. We can engage brain and brawn to get a great deal done.

It is essential that we always keep in mind the necessary tempering process. Even though we can move things ahead almost effortlessly, we have to look and not leap, evaluate, step cautiously and move forward all the while working with peripheral vision and being aware of the circumstances operating around us and mindful of the opportunities that can arise out of the blue.

This month can be largely paradoxical, with us easily gliding along in early May period and hitting bumps towards the latter part of May. It may seem as if this month is like a weather vane, whichever way the wind blows. And much of it can be due to the transits of the personal planets — the Sun, Mercury and Venus.

The personal planets transits through Taurus reinforce the Earth Grand Trine and provide opportunities for us to be highly effective and incredibly productive and strongly confident with optimism and enthusiasm to match.

The latter part of May increases the Gemini influence and with it a Mutable Sign T-Square as the Gemini-transiting planets square Mars in Virgo and square Neptune in Pisces.

On the 20th of May, the Sun enters Gemini and with it a Solar Eclipse at the time of the Gemini New Moon that day.

During this latter part of May, the hypesters and hipsters may be out in full regalia, selling their wares, enticing the unaware of prospects and potentialities that seem oh so good in presentation but have nothing truly to back them up. Like a Hollywood set, the appearance may be lovely and seem substantial but the truth is that the façade is being held up by two by fours with no real substance or depth associated with it. We should be wary of promises made and the intentions of those making the promises. This time could be a time when people are ‘talking the talk but unable to walk their talk.’

Although we might see a wide palette of possibilities, we could also feel either as though our hopes are dashed or that we are in a state of perpetual confusion during the latter part of May. The Sun squares Neptune on the 23rd. Mercury enters Gemini on the 24th, and Mercury squares Neptune on the 27th.

Although we still have the influence of the Earth Grand Trine, there is now increasing static with the liability of misunderstandings and misperceptions. We may still want to push ahead with changes and new ways of expressing ourselves thanks to the Gemini-transiting planets sextiling Uranus. But the T-Square of the Gemini-transiting planets first squaring Neptune, later squaring Mars, can indicate both a lack of clarity with a high likelihood of confusion initially and then a tendency to gloss over specifics and negate important details later on.

These two aspects of this Mutable Sign T-Square can serve as a prescription for disaster, or at the very least for badly stubbing our toes and a severe liability especially from the latter part of May through the first week of June.

As I wrote at the beginning of this piece, this month of May can be reminiscent of the Lou Christie song ‘Two Faces Have I’, the chorus of which goes:

	‘Two faces have I
One to laugh and one to cry’

Awareness, mindfulness and due diligence will go a long way for us to maintain balance, do what we can do and not get sidetracked by specious promises or alluring possibilities.

This month is paradoxical but provides the energies for us to move things forward and to hone our abilities of making our way across the balance beam of the vagaries of daily life.

May 2012… some times Merry, some times Not…

This week may be slow starting but we should not assume that everything is right in the world or in our personal realm. Even if the week begins a little unsettled, even quiet, there is a great deal stirring below the surface. In fact, the week could be like a volcano with issues percolating below the surface ready to vent at any time and a build-up towards the Full Moon on Saturday-Sunday. Like any volcanic eruption, the release of lava can either be an effusive flow, whereby the venting is quiet and non-dramatic, although drastic nonetheless; or the release can be explosive, laying waste to all around it. How the release occurs is largely up to us and our action and reaction to the intensity of these times and the style of dance we do with the people in our lives.

The early part of the week could have us highly productive, although we might be productive despite our best efforts to take ‘down time’ or engage the pleasurable activities of Spring. We could play hooky but that would be a waste of energies that might allow us to be more effective with less expenditure of energy. It is our choice, always our choice, as to whether we work in harmony with the energies or do our own quixotic journey and tilt against the windmill and the force of the energies.

The mid-part of the week may focus on our personal relationships. In so doing, however, we might be less likely to seek harmony and right connection and more liable to be on a different page than everyone else. Maybe we are just feeling ornery but there could be the tendency to draw lines in the sand, throw down the gauntlet and be itching for a fight. Let’s keep in mind the image of the volcano and its release and choose the effusive flow rather than the cataclysmic explosion that could wreak havoc on our interactions with other people. We might be looking for a safe harbor to vent our frustrations, but it’s just not right to take our reactions to the intensity of these times out on those that we love and care for.

It is interesting that this week’s energies are very spiked, times of intense energy, other times when we might feel like the deflated balloon with no energy whatsoever.

As we head towards the weekend, we are also heading towards the Full Moon on Saturday–Sunday. While some people say that every day now seems like a Full Moon, just as some people say that every day now seems like a Mercury retrograde, this Scorpio Full Moon can be incredibly intense, with people willing to take a ‘slash and burn’ approach and an attitude of ‘take no prisoners’. The weekend calls for us to be on our best behavior. We could wreak havoc that we might have to take precious time to repair in the days and weeks ahead. Any intense emotional release could also leave us totally exhausted with not only the desire, but also the need, for Sunday to be a day of rest.

An intense week this week might prove to be. The more we can be amused by the foibles of human nature, and even our own foibles and follies, the less likely we are to get caught up in playing the victim, the martyr, the misunderstood, or the wreaker of vengeance. Humility and detachment are important this week to avoid getting ensnared by intense energies and letting fly with whatever is at our means in impulsive reaction to even the slightest irritant. Let’s all be careful out there and do no harm.

Besides, if we feel put upon, we don’t have to take immediate action. On the contrary, we can keep in mind the advice of Oscar Wilde who wrote: ‘For people with good taste, vengeance is best served cold.’

I know the statement is casebook Scorpionic, but so too is this coming weekend’s Full Moon.

Monday, April 30th – Hurry Up and Wait – Venus, Jupiter, Saturn, Moon Void-of-Course. There is a saying in the entertainment industry that reflects the behavior on projects: ‘Hurry up and Wait’. We could be feeling that way as we start the week. The early morning hours finish the Moon’s transit of Leo and as it does so, the Leo Moon sextiles Venus, squares Jupiter and sextiles Saturn. We may have all sorts of plans to initiate the week, feel totally energized and ready to go, but as we know to paraphrase the well-known sentiments of Robert Burns from many years ago, ‘the best laid plans…’. Yup, we might start the day in high gear and then run out of gas as the Moon goes Void-of-Course for almost nine hours making no further connections to the planets as it finishes its transit of Leo and before entering Virgo. If we try and force issues today, we could experience the boomerang effect with things flying back in our face. We might use the time to tie up loose ends, give callbacks to people who have left messages for us and write those emails we have long put aside. We might have begun the day with a great deal of enthusiasm, but we just might not have the energy to push forward nor the due diligence to do it right even if we can pull up some energy from our reserves. We might also consider this day as a ‘mental health’ day when we take time to enjoy some fun times without putting too much pressure on ourselves to accomplish much.

Tuesday, May 1st – Chain of Fools – Neptune, Mars, Lunar Grand Trine, Pluto, Sun. Today is May 1st, also known as May Day, the International Workers’ Day. A popular quote attributed to Karl Marx has always been: ‘Workers of the world, unite! You have nothing to lose but your chains.’ And then in 1967, Aretha Franklin had a major hit with her classic single ‘Chain of Fools’. What this all has to do with this Tuesday, I don’t know and therein lies the rub of this day. For the day and the month of May begin with the Virgo Moon opposed Neptune. There could be some confusion going on, either a minor irritant or a major delusion that could lead us the way of ‘wrong way Corrigan’. If we would take the time to see both the big picture and the details necessary to realize our goals, then we might not go off half-cocked today heading forcefully forward but without itinerary much less direction. This day can be a powerful day, but we do need to get a grip on what is really going on and what we intend to do. If we diligently plan and strategize the course of our day, we could virtually move mountains today, if that’s what we choose to do. For the Moon today reinforces the Earth Grand Trine as the Virgo Moon conjuncts Mars and trines Pluto in Capricorn and also trines the Sun in Taurus. This is a day not to get involved in diatribes or the verbal hype of politicians who would never make the grade of statespeople. This is a day for us to have our nose to the grindstone, work expeditiously, and with passion and determination, get more done today that at other times might take days or weeks.

Wednesday, May 2nd – Is Anybody Out There? – Jupiter, Venus, Moon Void-of-Course. Wednesday begins with the Moon finishing its transit of Virgo and as it does so, the Virgo Moon trines Jupiter and squares Venus. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for over fifteen hours making no further connections to the planets as it finishes its transit of Virgo and before entering Libra. As I wrote above, this week is a time of spiked energies, times when we may feel full and robust and blowing around like a helium balloon, over times when that balloon might feel as though we are totally deflated, exhausted with very little energy to move forward. We might begin this day taking care of what needs to be done, but we also have to be careful that we are not critical of other people or other people are critical of us. We could have the wind knocked out of our sails by any missteps early in the day and that could set up a chain reaction [really! The chains were referred to yesterday] whereby we spend the rest of the day stewing in our own juices, critiquing what we might have done, judging what someone else might have done. We could be thrown back on our own resources, but it would be wise to avoid a long period of self-examination with us being the judge, jury and executioner. Let’s take care of the little things we need to get done and not worry ourselves about the big things or those things that are beyond our control.

Thursday, May 3rd – Back on the Track Again – Mercury, Venus, Lunar T-Square, Uranus, Pluto. Thursday has Mercury sextile Venus and the Moon in Libra. The Moon creates a Cardinal Sign T-Square as the Libra Moon opposes Uranus in Aries and the Moon squares Pluto in Capricorn. This is a day when we could get what we want. The power of persuasion and the ability to present things in an appealing manner could prove easily seductive. While we could be back on the track again, moving our interests forward and gaining advocates along the way, it would be important that we focus on other people’s interests all the while that we are advancing our own interests. Sounds Machiavellian, doesn’t it? And to some large degree, the Machiavellian in all of us may be coming out. This day could be one of those Mutual Admiration Society days when people are falling all over themselves with compliments but still with their own objectives firmly planted in mind. We may have to engage tai chi moves, be flexible and adaptable, for some curve balls and blockages could develop during the day that force us to shift, change and always to be pleasant and ingratiating. If we work with other people, we are likely to find that we win ourselves some significant advocates. But there could be a liability to a tug of war, so if that ensues, just drop the rope and don’t play the game. This can be a very pleasant day. We just need to slow it down, take our time and enjoy the repartee with those special people in our lives.

Friday, May 4th – Going Out of Our Way – Venus, Mercury, Saturn. Friday begins with the Moon finishing its transit of Libra. The Libra Moon trines Venus, opposes Mercury and conjuncts Saturn. No matter what our plans for today might be, we could be more involved in what someone else wants or needs than our own personal decisions. While we might be called upon to help someone out, our willingness to put things aside and assist them can be well appreciated and could benefit us in the long run. Thursday and early Friday have us back with our relationship focus, seeking a balance between what we want and what other people want. We may go out of our way for someone else, but the scales will be eventually balanced. As the day progresses, the Moon exits Libra to enter Scorpio as we move closer to the Full Moon late on Saturday, early Sunday. We may suddenly have a desire to clean things up and clear things out. We might start feeling a great deal more intense and might even seek to withdraw in order to recharge our batteries and regroup. Errands this weekend may be something that we feel the need to do, but it would also be wise to consider cleaning up our finances by looking at our revenue stream, our expenses, any debts we might have and our investments. I hate to, but feel the need to, draw your attention to the energy shift in the Autumn when Saturn exits Libra and then enters Scorpio for its two and a half year cycle, which could raise issues regarding finances, resources and taxes. This weekend would be a good time to keep our eyes and ears wide open for any indications of what we might see over the next two and a half years starting in October.

Saturday, May 5th – Down to the Bone – Mercury, Saturn, Neptune, Mars, Pluto, Scorpio Full Moon, Sun. Saturday has Mercury opposed Saturn. The Moon is in Scorpio, and today the Moon trines Neptune, sextiles Mars, sextiles Pluto, all leading up to the Scorpio Full Moon at the end of the day or early Sunday as the Scorpio Moon opposes the Sun in Taurus. We may have all sorts of pleasant ideas of going on retreat, getting down by the water, reflecting on our lives and what they are all about. We might feel as though we have become the wise philosopher, the sage, the savant. Nice concept but playing the savant might be an illusion and could only have us being the idiot to the savant. While we might be incredibly moody and wanting to float away on our reveries, we might find that we are pulled back to the earth plane by what we have to do. And some of what we might have to do could be an inventory taking and a cleaning out the stables of our stuff. This is a day when either we choose to do so or we are encouraged [or is that forced?] by someone else to get rid of extraneous matter, make our dump runs and do a strong Springtime cleanup and clearout. With today’s Full Moon we could feel quite intense with our mood swings gyrating wildly between victim and provocateur, between martyr and savior, between masochist and sadist, between… [get the picture?]. This Saturday is a day for us to focus on cutting to the core, stripping down to the bone, and getting to the very basic fundamentals. We do need to rein in our emotions, for otherwise we could whipsaw in our moods and our temperaments. A heads-up regarding what is going on in the world at large would be wise, for we might be given indications of highlighted areas over the next three years. Today is also Cinco de Mayo, a day of Mexican celebration, which became a national US celebration only in the last decade. But in the US, this 5th of May is often used as a justification and a license to drink to the point of excess and beyond. People may be looking to escape their daily reality today, so let’s all be careful out there.

Sunday, May 6th – After the Fall – Jupiter, Moon Void-of-Course. Early Sunday, we continue with the influence of the Scorpio Full Moon. The Scorpio Moon opposes Jupiter before the Moon goes Void-of-Course for over thirteen hours making no further connections to the planets as it finishes its transit of Scorpio and before entering Sagittarius. We may have overdone it yesterday, no matter what we chose to do. We could have worked too hard clearing things out, cleaning things out. We may have partied too much, having too good a time. We might have found ourselves an emotional mess as we went through the metronome of moods, feelings and sensitivities. Whatever we might have done yesterday, today we could be feeling burnt out, overwhelmed and truly done. This Sunday would be a good day to hang out, relax and just enjoy the comforts of home. Let’s not put too much of an expectation on what we should do today. We might just need to use this Sunday as a day to rest, regroup, slow things down and just relax. We can gear up for the coming week, and recharge from the week we are just ending. Even if we have all sorts of scheduled plans for this day, we might choose to take them down a notch or two.

This is a week when we could literally move mountains. With the influence of this past Saturday’s New Moon in Taurus and with the Sun reinforcing the Earth Grand Trine to bookend this week by the Sun trining Mars on Monday and the Sun trining Pluto on Sunday, we can be highly productive, get a great deal done and concentrate on a best practices approach and on the most meaningful projects we have on hand. If we take things step by step, we could make remarkable headway towards fulfilling our plans and realizing our goals.

Not that this week will be a mere walk in the park. We have a few clunkers along the way. We shall need to maintain our focus and not get distracted by fascinating diversions. We should keep our tongue in check, even tongue in cheek, and avoid lashing out at any objections to our intentions. And we need to keep from being overly emotional or getting reticent about our decisions and actions, or the flip side of becoming too belligerent or fixed with an attitude of ‘my way or the highway’.

We have some caveats for this week, but all in all this is a week not to let go by without accomplishing a great deal and moving forward with our deepest desires and our greatest objectives.

We could start the week a little flustered. We may be in high gear, ready to put the pedal to the metal, but we could dither around by questioning where to go, what to do first and eventually only spinning our wheels. Why go there when we could easily strategize and prioritize before throwing ourselves into fast forward. A little bit of patience and a modicum of planning can put us in the right direction whereby we start the week full speed ahead in right direction without engaging a dithering around or caroming from one interest to another without getting much done.

If we would start the week with our objective in sight and our means of engagement well-considered, then we might proceed smoothly and quickly. As we do so, it would be wise to keep our eye on the ball but also to evaluate and re-evaluate both our progress and our process. These times ask, really demand, that we be fast on our toes and able to swiftly adapt and change as shifting circumstances call for a tweaking or total realignment of our ways forward.

The mid-part of the week could prove dicey. We may question our motives and our goals and even falter at the first sign of impediments to our way. We have to be careful not to be blinded by our emotions or by our reticence about whether we can pull off things we wish to achieve. We might start second guessing ourselves and therein lies a major problem, and an obstacle of our own making. If we don’t get in our own way or allow our faith to falter, then this mid-week period could prove a hiccup to our week, a speed bump to our drive that might only serve us to evaluate and re-evaluate how we are coming and whether we need to shift and change our means of approach.

The latter part of the week and the weekend might see us regain our confidence, even to the point of overconfidence. The flip between self-consciousness and complete arrogance may be extreme so it would be important for us to find a balance to that metronome of reticence and belligerence. The weekend can be a time for fun activities but to not let down our guard.

This week and this fortnight from this past Taurus lunation can prove to be one of the most productive periods of the year, a time when we can harness our passion and our strength to make even the impossible probable.

Monday, April 23rd – In Turbo Drive but Getting Nowhere? – Sun, Mars, Lunar T-Square, Neptune. The day could be a little slow starting. Not that we don’t have the drive or the passion today. We just might not have a focus, a direction or an itinerary. This Monday has the Sun triggering the Earth Grand Trine that we have been experiencing since last November. Today, the Sun trines Mars. The Moon is transiting Gemini and today creates a Mutable Sign T-Square as the Moon squares Neptune in Pisces and the Moon squares Mars in Virgo. We may have all sorts of projects, interests and intentions in mind as we start the day. But we could also be playing pachinko, with various ideas and concepts bouncing around in our mind. The possibilities seem endless, our appetite insatiable. We may want it all and that could prove a problem. For we might even feel on overwhelm with the wide range of prospects to engage. If we would focus, concentrate on what we want to accomplish first, then we can get into gear, avoid spinning our wheels, and be highly effective in a short period of time. The day could be slow starting due to our dithering around but we have a lot going on in our mind. We just may have difficulty getting into motion. Once in motion, however, we can get more done in a shorter period of time than usual. Our passion will be our drive.

Tuesday, April 24th – The Magic Wand – Uranus, Mercury, Venus. Tuesday is a day to think outside the box, have our antennae up and note the signals along the way. The Gemini Moon today sextiles Uranus, sextiles Mercury and conjuncts Venus. This day might seem as though we have been handed a magic wand. Things can come remarkably easily. We just have to be open to doing things differently and taking advantage of opportunities that might arise suddenly and unexpectedly. Magic is afoot and we may have the wand to engage some incredible situations. Our mind is insightful with a sprinkling of revelatory ah-has now and again. If we would combine a pragmatic concentration and a willingness to be open to streamlined methods, then this day could have us sitting on cloud nine, all the while our feet are firmly planted on the ground. Not only can we be incredibly insightful, but our communications can be sparkling and enticing. This is one of those days when everything may seem to be going our way. People are delighted by what we have to say and the way we say it. We can make people aware of possibilities that they might never have considered, and people can act that way for us as well. This is a day to be open to acting on the spur of the moment, engaging surprises spontaneously and allowing ourselves to be impulsive.

Wednesday, April 25th – Oops, Mashing Toes, Sparks Flying – Mercury, Pluto, Saturn. Wednesday is not a day when we necessarily have to regroup, but it is a day where we might find that we have to rework some things that we launched with great enthusiasm. There could be obstacles in our way today. Mercury squares Pluto and the Gemini Moon trines Saturn. Although we might have had all flags flying over the past few days, this Wednesday could have us hitting the wall against certain standards, restrictions and situations just getting in our way. Everyone may be a little full of themselves and could try to win their point more by force and what they want rather than by reason and agreement between the parties involved. Perhaps we were too enthusiastic yesterday or bought into our ability to bring everyone to the table. Today, we may have to regroup, draw upon the tried and true and ask for the advice of someone we trust as to whether we are on the right track or have gotten off onto the highway to nowhere. Discussions can become heated, but it would be wise not to get so attached to our viewpoint that we lose sight of the ability to hone, fine tune and even change our thoughts and our processes. Flexibility is called for and a willingness to let go of our belief regarding how things should work. Let’s keep in mind that these times are times of volatility and radical change. What was true yesterday might in fact be totally false today. The need for flexibility and adaptability and not holding too hard on what we want the way we want it are keys to making this day work. If we become rigid in our opinions, we could either be drawing lines in the sand or someone else could draw them for us.

Thursday, April 26th – The Maze or the Labyrinth – Neptune, Mars, Sun, Lunar T-Square, Uranus, Pluto. Some of yesterday’s frustrations could seep into this Thursday. The Moon enters Cancer where today it trines Neptune in Pisces and sextiles both Mars in Virgo and the Sun in Taurus. The Moon also creates a Cardinal Sign T-Square as the Moon squares Uranus and opposes Pluto. Today is not a day to try and force issues or make great leaps forward. On the contrary, this day is better served by focusing on the details and by taking things step by step. We can keep the big picture in mind, but it would be wise to concentrate on the specifics and the particulars. Thursday is a day to do stealth maneuvers, to move our interests ahead in a quiet, methodical manner without bombast or dramatic approaches. We can either be in a maze or a labyrinth today, the difference being that the maze will only be confusing, leading us one way, then another and possibly getting lost in the process. Such an approach would only prove self-defeating and exhausting, possibly having us banging our head against walls and even questioning our capabilities and diminishing our self-confidence. If instead we see this day as a labyrinth whereby we take things step by step with the recognition that we will eventually get to the center, to the core issues and able to achieve the big picture by resolving the little details along the way, then we can move forward step by step without raising concerns in other people and without creating adversarial relationships along the way.

Friday, April 27th – Broadening the Focus – Mercury, Jupiter. Friday continues with the Cancer Moon, which today squares Mercury and sextiles Jupiter. Similar to yesterday, this Friday is a day for us to have nose to grindstone, take care of what needs to be done and not be overly dramatic in the ways that we are doing things. If we try to rush the river, advance our interests quickly with passion but without strategy, we could find ourselves like a deflated balloon, once full and robust, now flat and empty. We might consider this day as a day when we need to put much of our personal interests on the back burner, take care of family needs and fix things up around our home. The latter part of the day we might feel as though we have gained a second wind. We do need to be certain not to become extravagant or overspend today, for we might have the tendency to seek some indulgence to offset any emotional upset. The weekend is upon us and we may be looking to step off the track and focus on pleasurable activities and enjoyable events. We do have to avoid going from one extreme to the other, for while we might want to concentrate on fun, we can still accomplish a great deal and advance our interests before the weekend is over.

Saturday, April 28th – Looking for the Good Times – Saturn, Moon Void-of-Course. Late Friday, early Saturday, we might have a tete-a-tete with someone, discussing past matters, dealing with any unintended slights or hurts. The Cancer Moon squares Saturn. A walk down Memory Lane in discussion with someone could clear the air but also be emotionally jarring. Once we have dealt with any issues in our significant relationship, we might take time just to catch our breath. The Moon goes Void-of-Course for nine hours making no further connections to the planets as it finishes its transit of Cancer and before entering Leo. Although the day may be slow starting with us even considering pulling the bed sheet up over our heads, as the day progresses, we get a second wind. We are looking for fun activities, getting involved in recreational pursuits and interested in enjoying ourselves. This day is paradoxical for it could be slow starting with a great deal of emotion to begin with, followed by an energized spark that has us blowing our horns.

Sunday, April 29th – Sharp Focus – Sun, Pluto, Uranus, Mercury. Sunday is the bookend to Monday, for on Monday the Sun reinforced the Earth Grand Trine with the Taurus Sun trine Mars in Virgo. Today, the Sun reinforces the Earth Grand Trine with the other point to the Grand Trine, as the Taurus Sun trines Pluto in Capricorn. The Leo Moon today trines both Uranus and Mercury and the Moon squares the Sun. Today is a day when we can feel empowered, at the top of our game, and able to work things to our will. We are willing to consider alternatives, engage streamlined methods and work smarter rather than harder. We can be operating on all eight cylinders but we also have to avoid being excessive. We can accomplish a great amount today and more so if we concentrate on projects that are the most important to us and we consider a best practices approach to achieve our goals. If we are engaging recreational activities, we could prove to be a fierce competitor. We are not looking to waste this day but to use it to our best abilities, whether we focus on our work or on our play. Nothing is done in half measure today. It’s all or nothing at all.

On next Tuesday evening, the 24th, I shall be giving a presentation on Relationships as seen through Astrology. The talk will be a lively discussion of the good, the bad and the ugly of relationships. The talk is sponsored by Greenwich Continuing Education and will be held at Greenwich High School at 7:00 PM.

To register for the class, Me & My Shadow: An Astrological Look at Relationships, please call (203) 625.7474.

With the enjoyment and the pleasures, with the drama and the upsets, our interactions with people are key elements in our normal functioning world. Relationships can be heavenly or a nightmare from hell, and sometimes both.

Among the possible examples discussed tonight will be Kate Middleton and Prince William, John Lennon and Yoko Ono, Katherine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown.

Every one of us is involved in relationships. The 17th Century English metaphysical poet John Donne wrote the immortal words: ‘No man is an island, entire of itself’.

We need other people in our lives. We want other people in our lives. For our significant relationship we seek out our soulmate, that twin flame that completes us and makes us whole.

In Jungian psychology, the shadow is the part of ourselves that we know least about. Through Astrology we can discover, explore and heal our shadow side through our relationships.

What attracts us to someone? What astrological types are we drawn to? What are the healthy relationships and the less healthy relationships that we draw into our lives?

Who is right for you? Who would be a difficult, although learning, relationship for you?

These and other questions about relationship are discussed in this evening’s program.

I’m looking forward to sharing my thoughts and my insights about relationships and I hope you will join me at this exciting evening program.

I shall be in Connecticut from this Friday, the 20th, through Sunday, the 29th. I still have some spots available for in-person astrology sessions in Stamford if you know someone who would like to meet with me.

This is another highly active week. We may start the week a little confused and discombobulated. We might not know in what direction to turn, but we are likely to feel impelled towards some form of movement. We do need to keep from feeling victimized and immediately reacting to every situation. We could have the sense that we need to do something, anything, in order to get moving and get things accomplished. It would be wise for us to avoid a rush to action. Impulsiveness could create a helter skelter approach that might lead us only into harm’s way.

As the week progresses, we are likely to feel energized but also more grounded and practical. We may no longer rush to judgment but on the contrary could be looking at working with a best practices approach and taking things in an orderly, focused and streamlined manner.

The highlights of the week are two Sign changes, with Mercury moving into Aries and the Sun moving into Taurus, and then the Taurus New Moon over the weekend with significant altered reality awareness to end the weekend.

Mercury moves out of Pisces and back into Aries at the beginning of the week. Our moodiness can drop away and we might feel less impacted by the ‘slings and arrows of outrageous fortune’. Misunderstandings can lessen and we may be less sensitive to possible, unintended slights. We are still in the ‘shadow’ of the Mercury retrograde, possibly retracing steps we had taken back in March.

The Sun moves into Taurus towards the end of the week. The Sun in Taurus gives greater weight to the Earth Grand Trine that we have experienced since mid-November of this past year. We can plant the seeds of our intended projects in fertile ground and have slightly more patience to allow the seeds to gestate and germinate.

A pragmatic, focused direction can be accentuated thanks to the Taurus Lunation over the weekend, with the New Moon creating a signature for the next fortnight up to the Full Moon on May 5th.

With the New Moon giving greater force to the Earth Grand Trine and the Sun Moon conjunction sextile Neptune, with the Sun exactly sextile Neptune to end the weekend, the same day that Mercury is conjunct Uranus, we may feel divinely inspired and guided in regard to making manifest those things that will support us and provide venues by which we can thrive.

Now more than ever before we could fully believe that all things are possible. And all things are possible.

This week is a mixture of energies, a kaleidoscope of different temperaments, feelings and intentions. To some degree, this week is akin to a saying attributed to Mark Twain about the weather in New England: ‘If you don’t like the weather in New England, just wait a few minutes’.

Monday, April 16th – Off and Running? – Neptune, Pluto, Lunar T-Square, Mars, Venus, Mercury Aries. This Monday starts the week with us a little dazed, possibly unsure of our schedule but ready to get into fast gear as soon as we wake up. It’s a nice concept to see a fast start to the week, but we have to avoid that we don’t engage a race to nowhere. The Moon in Pisces today conjuncts Neptune, sextiles Pluto and creates a Mutable Sign T-Square with the Moon opposed Mars and square Venus. Mercury exits Pisces to enter Aries. We may be on the fast track today but we have to avoid merely reacting to other people’s quandaries or getting involved in needless distractions, which then force us to cut corners and gloss over significant details. We might need to focus our drive and concentrate on fewer situations without getting diverted by the broad range of diverse interests beckoning to us. Today is a day for us not to get caught up in the whirlwind of activity but rather to see what needs to be done, consider how we can best accomplish the priorities and not get diverted from our trajectory.

Tuesday, April 17th – Kid in a Candy Shop – Jupiter. We may be feeling like a kid in a candy shop on this Tuesday. If living in the US, we have had a brief reprieve from filing our taxes, since the 15th fell on a Sunday. But more than that, we might be looking for a little indulgence today. The Pisces Moon sextiles Jupiter. The liability towards excess and extravagance cannot be discounted. Our emotions can easily overrule our practical sense, and we could spend more on our whims and desires than might be practically realistic. This is a day when we might believe that whatever we want we should have. No cutting the corners for us today. If we feel like an enchilada, we may want the entire enchilada. We might not do anything in half measure today and that’s where the problem could arise. We could have a tendency to overdo today, no matter what arena we are involved with. We could spend too much, eat and drink too much, play the savior / martyr to other people’s conditions and circumstance and virtually wear a sign on our back indicating that we will do whatever anyone, including ourselves, wants us to do. This day is a day when things can go over the top. Our emotions can be strong, with wild mood swings. We may all be feeling the pain, whether our own, someone else’s or the world at large. We can also be ecstatic and exuberant, all with no true basis in reality.

Wednesday, April 18th – All About Me – Mercury, Uranus. With the Moon moving into Aries on this Wednesday and conjuncting both Mercury and Uranus, we can be totally self-focused, self-absorbed, even self-centered. This day is an ‘all about me’ kind of day, a day when we want to explore and investigate situations that truly resonate with us and also allow us to step out of our normal routine and consider conditions that are exciting and new to our frame of reference. We may be looking to be islands unto ourselves with little consideration for other people’s interests or their needs. We may have some startling insights, unexpected situations arising and look to change some aspect of ourselves. Whether we do a personal makeover, spice up our wardrobe or engage activities unfamiliar to us, this Wednesday is a day when we may not be content with the familiar or routine but rather a day when we take machete in hand and cut our own path, all the while in exploration of anything that captures our fancy.

Thursday, April 19th – Banging our Head Before Finding the Way – Pluto, Venus, Sun Taurus. Thursday could begin with us getting one of those lateral lobotomies, those whacks on the side of the head, which could prove a wakeup call to our personal whims and the standards of our responsibilities. The day begins with the Aries Moon square Pluto. Yesterday had us merely going along, doing our thing with little concern for its impact on other people or the unintended consequences of some of our yesterday decisions and actions. Today could have us being reined in, our impetuous nature and our desires being restricted, restrained and even quashed. We may have felt there was a new day dawning but we might not have dealt with issues unresolved. This Thursday allows us, could even force us, to deal with those incomplete tasks that we might have put aside or even assumed that we wouldn’t have to deal with. This Thursday may have us tying up loose ends and also honing some of our projects that have proven mere distractions and idle interests. We can concentrate on those situations that are the most meaningful. Whether we do the honing or the fine tuning comes from outside of ourselves, once we have determined the truly significant we could provide an honest and appealing presentation as to what we want and how we want it done. Through due diligence and concentrated attention we can win advocates to our side. The Sun exits Aries and enters Taurus today, reinforcing the Earth Grand Trine. We might have greater patience and a willingness to take things step by step, even if during that process some of the steps are baby steps and others are giant leaps. We can find our way if we are willing to let go of control over situations and embrace the concept that ‘god and the universe have far greater plans for us than we could ever have imagined for ourselves.’ Such a letting go is all part of the magical mystery tour of these times of paradigm shift.

Friday, April 20th – Do Unto Others – Saturn, Moon Void-of-Course. The Moon continues its transit of Aries and opposes Saturn today. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for eight and a half hours making no further connections to the planets as it finishes its transit of Aries and before entering Taurus. This is a day when we may need to balance our personal interests with those of someone else. We might feel compelled to take care of someone’s needs, engage someone’s drama or address someone’s personal matters. The balance between ‘me and thee’ can be like a teeter-totter whereby we want to do our own thing, expand our activities and have wide-ranging interests. But our responsibilities and obligations to someone could get in the way of our free-wheeling desires to do whatever we might choose to do. We could find the balance point between our personal wishes and the desires of someone else, if we would be receptive listeners, utilize time management and realize that we are not islands unto ourselves but rather engaged in a social community with our interactions with other people often asking us to put our focus on the back burner in order to engage the interests of others. As the day progresses, the energy dies down. We are less enthusiastic about expanding our reach and more attentive to a slower, even plodding, pace whereby we concentrate on taking things one step at a time and certain that we have covered the necessary particulars of each step.

Saturday, April 21st – Productive, Effective and Highly Attuned – Taurus Lunation, Neptune, Lunar Grand Trine, Mars, Pluto. Although there can be a sense of new starts and new beginnings with today’s New Moon, which creates an imprint and influence over the next two weeks, we might not be rushing out the door. On the contrary, we are likely to be far more focused, attentive to a best practices approach and both effective and productive in whatever we might do. This Saturday’s New Moon conjuncts the Sun, sextiles Neptune and triggers the Earth Grand Trine as the Moon in Taurus trines Mars in Virgo and trines Pluto in Capricorn. Starting with this Saturday, we have crossed the threshold into one of the most highly attuned periods of the year when we can virtually move mountains and do so in a concentrated manner. This is a day and a period of time when we can be far more effective with less expenditure of energy. Not only can we advance our interests. We can do so in a charming and non-intimidating manner. We seem to have it all going on now. We have a visionary sense of what could be. We know where we might want to go but we are also considering the specifics and the details regarding how we can get there. While this time promises a highly successful period, we also have to recognize the challenge of not falling into our old societal mindset of our ability to control and make things happen. We might assume while everything is going our way that we have created the parameters by which to succeed. If we buy into such an egocentric perspective, we might be putting on blinders, closing ourselves off to the magic of these times. But, if we can recognize that the energies have shifted and then work with the energies, we can become both co-creators of our future and be open to the magic of serendipity and synchronicity, things coming to us in the most unexpected ways.

Sunday, April 22nd – Vision Keeper with a Little Help from the Universe – Sun, Neptune, Jupiter, Mercury, Uranus. This Sunday can offer us gifts from the universe. We just have to be open to the magic. This day is a high frequency day when our higher faculties are fully attuned. The Sun sextiles Neptune, Mercury conjuncts Uranus and the Taurus Moon conjuncts Jupiter. If we do not close ourselves off to the world of possibilities and so-called impossibilities, then this day can be a day when various gifts from the universe are presented to us. The main thing for us is to get out of our own way and let the universe provide. Our intuitive nature and our inspired self can be truly on target today. Our feelings, our senses, our openness to receive and our willingness to acknowledge something beyond the usual, the routine and our own belief system could be the key to entering a wonderland of understandings, new realizations, different directions and a myriad of prospects. This is a primo day for wonder and surprises to abound. Since it is such a high frequency day, we also need to accept the liability that some of our mechanisms may have glitches to them. It is all a question as to whether our equipment can keep up as a conduit of the high frequencies coming through. If they cannot, then we could experience problems with computers and the internet, difficulties in our travel and communications, and errant situations arising that keep us on our toes. I would also suggest that we take moments to reflect on what is occurring, time to allow the nickels to drop in regard to how things could be. We might see and witness how we no longer have to do it all but rather the natural unfolding of the universe, even if that unfolding occurs in an asequential, non-linear manner that many of us may not be accustomed to. Yes, in deed, we are on the magical, mystery tour. Let’s embrace the fact that a new paradigm is operational.

This week could be volatile and even explosive, as we try to get a grip on whether we are coming or going. There are directional changes of two planets that could provoke some rather nasty outbursts, knock us off center, and tenderize us to the magic of these times.

The week begins with a sense of the unanticipated entering our lives. We could hear from someone or connect serendipitously with someone who gives greater credence to our talents and makes suggestions regarding trajectories we might consider but that we had not taken into account.

Let’s be aware that these times are volatile, times of eliminations but also times of things coming about in the most unexpected ways. These times call for our letting go — letting go of old and outworn situations, letting go of rigid and fixed beliefs, letting go of the ways we have done things and letting go of our assumptions of control in order to be open to the magic and mini-miracles of these times.

Problems with traditional formats may come to light this week with implosions liable to upset the way things are. We might wonder whether we are truly on the road to economic recovery or whether we have merely swept things under the rug to be dealt with later in time. A sense of disgust with the powers-that-be can be stepped up, as we all now see with uncanny ability the reality that the emperor has no clothes.

While we might be concerned about certain difficulties still unresolved, we do not have to throw our hands up in despair or take a catatonic disposition. On the contrary, we could see the magic of these times, the serendipity and synchronicity of non-linear and asequential reality where we do not have to do it all but we do have to be open to the limitless possibilities. We may feel that no matter what is occurring in the world at large, if we take care of our own personal world, we can not only survive these times but will actually thrive within the conditions around us.

Spring is in the air and with it a sense of the magic of these times. All things are possible, and nothing should be accepted as impossible.

Monday, April 9th – Twists and Turns – Mercury, Venus, Uranus, Lunar T-Square, Neptune, Mars. Monday could begin with a slow start to the week. We might not want to get out of bed and even as we do, we could be operating in slow motion, even distracted by some needless household chore that keeps us from running out the door. The Moon ends its transit of Scorpio with a trine to Mercury. We may have all sorts of plans in our mind, all with the intention of streamlining our operations and ridding ourselves of the extraneous. As the day proceeds, the Moon enters Sagittarius where the Moon creates a Mutable Sign T-Square as the Moon squares Neptune in Pisces and squares Mars in Virgo. We may be all over the place, trying to deal with our obligations while also engaging our fantasies of possibilities. To add to this combustible mix, Venus sextiles Uranus. Exciting but unexpected situations could arise that throw a monkeywrench into our plans. Can we do it all? Juggle not only our scheduled plans but also some wonderful new opportunities? Possibly, but probably not effectively. We know what we need to do, but we also see some thrilling scenarios opening up to us as we hear from people or bump into people who make us aware of our talents and abilities and propose enticing prospects for us to consider. After the Moon creates the T-Square, the Moon trines Uranus and opposes Venus. We may be far more interested in the new and the unique, less so in our usual routine matters, and we could wind up with so much on our plate that we have difficulty attending to it all. Let’s deal with what needs to be done and look at how we can expand our involvements without dropping the ball of our responsibilities.

Tuesday, April 10th – Boom, Bam, Bang – Sun, Pluto retrograde. Tuesday has the Sagittarius Moon trine the Sun, a very pleasant energy when we might feel that we have it all together in our lives. A nice concept, no doubt, but where things get squirrely today is the change in direction of Pluto, as Pluto turns retrograde. This shift in direction of Pluto often coincides with explosive or implosive energies, and this shift today could also see some leader showing up with egg all over their face. The energy today could have us pulling back the curtain on the wizard of oz screen to see what is really going on. We might feel as though the rug has been pulled out from under us, that some of our goals and ambitions are only images in our mind, the grand delusions of us following pipe dreams with little basis in reality. It would be wise for us today not to make definitive judgments or allow our feelings to impact our commitments. This is one of those days when we need to suspend judgment, to allow the jury to be out and for us to just ride the wave, even if we feel that we are being body slammed. Today is an intense energy, and we might feel like we are caroming and hitting the wall. We may hit the other side of the wall on Friday, but on this day we might feel that things are crashing down around us. Let’s keep in mind the image of the phoenix, that mythological bird that from its funereal pyre rose from the ashes to soar ever higher. We may feel bruised today, but if we let go of our need for control, we might also experience new doors opening to us, and new adventures for us to embark on.

Wednesday, April 11th – Reining In – Mercury, Saturn, Moon Void-of-Course, Neptune, Mars, Uranus. Wednesday begins with the Moon in Sagittarius square to Mercury and sextile Saturn. We may not be thinking clearly as we start this day. Drawing upon someone we trust as a sounding board could prevent us from going off the deep end and getting ourselves in trouble. We may have to rein in some of our desires and our expectations. If we slow things down and not be seduced by promises or by illusions, this day can be a productive and effective one. The Moon goes Void-of-Course for almost six hours making no further connections to the planets as it finishes its transit of Sagittarius and before entering Capricorn where the Moon becomes more focused, more grounded and sextiles Neptune, trines Mars and squares Uranus. Many of the illusions earlier in the day seem to drop away and we can concentrate on the truly meaningful. We may be far more productive. We can use a visionary perspective to see the big picture and a detailed approach to address the specifics. We might feel constricted and not able to fully embrace our personal desires, but this is a day not to make waves or act rebellious but rather to recognize that by addressing pressing matters first we then have the time and space to create new adventures for ourselves. With the Moon in Capricorn, the Moon also triggers the Earth Grand Trine that we have had as an influence since last November. This triggering of the Earth Grand Trine occurs today and tomorrow.

Thursday, April 12th – Expanding in a Focused Manner – Pluto, Jupiter. The Capricorn Moon today finishes its trigger to the Earth Grand Trine that it started yesterday. Today, the Moon conjuncts Pluto and trines Jupiter. We can move ahead with our projects and expand our involvements, all the while that we are concentrating on the most important and meaningful activities. Much can be accomplished on this day. We could virtually move mountains. We have the determination and the focus and also the confidence. We are likely to take things step by step, streamline our operations and be attentive to what needs to be done, and done in a best practices manner. Wednesday and Thursday are powerful days. We may be primarily concerned with our responsibilities, our goals and our ambitions, but just as long as we are not distracted by the superfluous and we keep our eye on the ball, we can get more done than usual and move ever closer to the realization of our dreams. Wednesday and Thursday would be best served by our having our nose to the grindstone.

Friday, April 13th – Forget the Fear, We’re in High Gear – Lunar T-Square, Sun, Saturn, Mercury, Moon Void-of-Course, Mars direct. Friday continues with the Moon in Capricorn. Whereas yesterday and the day before, the Moon in Capricorn was triggering the Earth Grand Trine, on this Friday the Moon creates a Cardinal Sign T-Square with the Moon square the Sun in Aries and square Saturn in Libra. The Moon sextiles Mercury before the Moon goes Void-of-Course for almost six hours making no further connections to the planets as it finishes its transit of Capricorn and before entering Aquarius. Friday also has Mars ending its retrograde cycle and turning direct. Today is Friday the 13th, but our fears can dissipate, as we become more engaged in launching new interests and new activities. We may have greater responsibilities today, more to do, both as a result of Springtime projects we have already initiated and also from someone else’s needs or demands. We do have to be careful not to switch into high gear without fully taking into account our itinerary, much less our direction. If we go off with great intentions but without checking the conditions, we might end up only spinning our wheels. This Friday is a day NOT to get caught up in the whirlwind of activity and lose our sense of direction. On the contrary, we may have a great deal on our plate but utilizing a well-considered strategy could also allow us to get most things done. We seem to get a second wind but like Spring itself this second wind could be gusts and, at times, tornado-like. Let’s harness the energy to take care of our responsibilities and meet any challenges other people might present us.

Saturday, April 14th – Enjoyable Camaraderie – Uranus, Venus. Saturday can be an especially pleasant day. The Moon is in Aquarius and sextiles Uranus and trines Venus today. We may feel that this Saturday is like a scavenger hunt. Unless we have scheduled ourselves to the hilt, we might engage activities in a spontaneous way. Clues can be presented and thrilling opportunities could arise. Getting together with friends and doing things we don’t normally engage can be part of a fun Saturday. We might feel almost child-like with the awe and wonder of surprising and exciting possibilities. The less committed to plans for this day, the more we might get out of this Saturday. This day can be a day of magic and mini-miracles, those serendipitous happenings that are far more enjoyable than anything we might have planned for ourselves. Whatever captures our attention today can be one of those clues in the scavenger hunt that leads us down a fun and highly enjoyable trajectory. With synchronicity afoot, we can bump into interesting people, be made aware of possibilities we could hardly imagine, and find ourselves highly entertained by the unexpected situations that might arise.

Sunday, April 15th – Taking it Down a Notch – Jupiter, Sun, Saturn. Sunday is often portrayed as a day of rest and this Sunday could prove its characteristic. If we are taking a day to rest on this Sunday, it might not be due to the general characteristic as much as our being at the point of exhaustion. Yesterday might have been a thrilling and exciting day, but we might have also engaged so many activities as to wear ourselves out. This Sunday has the Moon in Aquarius square Jupiter, trine Saturn and sextile the Sun. The Sun opposes Saturn. Yesterday might also have been a ‘me’ day, one of those days when we concentrate on what we want to do, even to the point of creating consternation for other people. Like the saying goes: ‘if you dance to the music, you pay to the piper’. We might have fully enjoyed the dance on Saturday, but Sunday could have us dealing with the errands and needs of other people that we put on the back burner yesterday. We can take care of what needs to be done today, concentrate on the specifics and engage the interests of other people. We do have to avoid being extravagant today, for we might have a tendency to absolve any guilt placed upon us for yesterday’s ‘fun times’ by throwing money or gifts at the offended parties. The balance between self-interest and relationship needs could be a balancing act, but let’s avoid caroming from one extreme to another. We may have been a little too self-focused recently but that doesn’t mean that we have to overdo it on the penance with the sentiment of mea culpa enforced upon us by other people. Blame games are just too old and overdone to engage.

I shall be back in Connecticut and available for in-person sessions in Stamford from Friday afternoon, April 20th, through Sunday evening, April 29th.

If you, or someone you know would like to meet with me while I am in Connecticut, please contact me to schedule an appointment.

While in Connecticut I have two talks scheduled on the topic: Me and My Shadow: An Astrological Look at Relationships.

“For many of us, relationships are what make our lives worth living. With the enjoyment and the pleasures, with the drama and the upsets, our interactions with people are key elements in our normal functioning world. Relationships can be heavenly or a nightmare from hell, and sometimes both. Every one of us is involved in relationships. We need other people in our lives. We want other people in our lives. For our significant relationship we seek out our soul mate, that twin flame that completes us and makes us whole. In Jungian psychology, the shadow is the part of ourselves that we know least about. Through Astrology we can discover, explore and heal our shadow side through our relationships. How are we attracted to someone? What astrological types are we drawn to? What are the healthy relationships and the less healthy relationships that we draw into our lives? Who is right for you? Who would be a difficult, although learning, relationship for you? These and other questions about relationships are discussed in this evening’s program. Well-publicized relationships will also be explored to show the attraction, the love and sometimes the discord that celebrity relationships have encountered.”

My evening talk at Greenwich High School in Greenwich is on Tuesday evening, April 24th. To register and for further information of this evening program, please call: 203.625.7474.

This first week of April is action-packed but also a slippery slope when we might have real difficulty getting our solid footing. We could find ourselves spinning with confusion, lack of clarity and a dance with the trickster, people appearing one way and the reality being something quite different.

Our intense desire for what we want and what we are trying to achieve can lose some of its appeal and luster by the way we package our projects and the way we present ourselves. While we might have felt that we had it all together, threads and strands could show an element of wear and tear and fabrication.

Early in the week, Venus exits its own Sign of Taurus and enters Mercury-ruled Gemini on Tuesday, followed by Mercury ending its retrograde cycle and turning direct on Wednesday. We can become incredibly glib, talkative and looking to make our case whether we have the facts to back it up or not. On the contrary, we might find ourselves expressing and being receptive to the hype of the moment, those mind games and word plays used to win acceptance and support.

Towards the latter part of the week we might become more considerate of other people’s needs. We may even seek to make amends for the self-focused, self-absorbed and self-centered tendencies we could have been exhibiting over the past two weeks.

The weekend would be a good time for an intense Spring cleaning, clearing away the clutter, cleaning up our messes. We might choose to go through our old baggage, both literally and figuratively, and see what we can easily part with. We don’t want to be carrying around a great deal of garbage, and the weekend could be productive for dumping the extraneous, superfluous and unneeded from our lives.

Quite a week, this first week of April can prove to be. Let’s try to slow things down, not act impetuously and have a little bit of kindness for our fellow beings. At the same time, it would be wise for us to maintain a jaded eye, be skeptical of the demonstrations of camaraderie and always consider the possible consequences of our actions, even keeping in mind the law of unintended consequences. Yes, this early April can be a real carousel, which might leave our head spinning if we allow ourselves to get ungrounded and caught up in the whirlwind of intense activity.

Monday, April 2nd – King of the Hill – Sun, Jupiter. Monday begins the week with the Moon in Leo and the Moon trine the Sun and the Moon square Jupiter. We may be full of beans and full of ourselves today. We are feeling creative, at the top of our game and possibly a little dictatorial in the sense that we know not only what is good for ourselves but also what is good for everyone around us. Yes, this day could have us commanding other people from our sense of omnipotence and knowing what is best for all concerned. Narcissism might be rampant today with everyone sure of themselves and sure of everything else. Aaargh! While this day could be highly creative, we do have to watch for being overly confident. We could be seeing only what we want to see and how we want to see it, and such a viewpoint might prove extravagantly expensive. We may spend too much, overstep our bounds and be a little too bellicose for other people. Everyone may be looking for an audience and assuming that they are preaching to the choir. The chorus might not be heard, however, since the focus could truly be hearing only one’s own words. We may be feeling at the top of the game but likely to be playing only to ourselves. A little humility might keep us from going overboard and trying to be larger than life.

Tuesday, April 3rd – Talking the Talk, Talking the Walk – Saturn, Venus, Neptune, Mars, Venus Gemini. Tuesday begins with the Leo Moon sextile Saturn and the Moon square Venus in Taurus. The Moon then exits Leo to enter Mercury-ruled Virgo and shortly thereafter Venus exits its own Sign of Taurus to enter Mercury-ruled Gemini. The Moon in Virgo opposes Neptune and conjuncts Mars. And this is the last day of Mercury retrograde as Mercury grinds to a stationary position just before turning direct tomorrow. Whew, that was all a mouthful, but possibly nothing like this Tuesday when talk can be rampant. We might begin the day still certain about the rightfulness [or is that righteousness?] of our own opinions and judgments. And if we engage such an attitude, we could incorporate the sentiments of wrong way Corrigan and head off in one direction, all the while intending to go off in a different direction. Yes, this Tuesday could be a little crazy-making. Miscommunications, misunderstandings and misinterpretations could be the order of the day. Where a problem might arise is in our ability to convince ourselves that we are heading in the right direction, doing the right thing but without checking the conditions as we go along or evaluating and re-evaluating during the process. Talk may be cheap but it could also lead us down the garden path without seeing the brambles or the pitfalls along the way. This Tuesday is a day to take everything said to us with a grain, or boulder, of salt. Anything that seems too good to be true is likely to be… too good to be true.

Wednesday, April 4th – If Only – Lunar Grand Trine, Pluto, Jupiter, Mercury direct. Wednesday has Mercury turning direct, ending its three-week plus retrograde cycle. This Mercury retrograde may not have been disastrous, only hitting severe bumps in the road. Of course, during this Mercury retrograde cycle, Mercury moved back out of Aries and entered Pisces, where Mercury is uncomfortable and loses logic and reasoning ability to emotion and lack of true clarity. We may have operated more from emotion, and our reactions to situations may have incorporated the concept that a ‘strong offense is a good defense’. We shall still be in the ‘shadow’ of the Mercury retrograde until the 22nd when Mercury crosses the degree in Aries that it turned retrograde at the end of March. If we don’t over think things but attend to what needs to be done and address our responsibilities, we can accomplish a great deal without falling into a confused or emotional state. For this Wednesday has the Moon in Virgo triggering the Earth Grand Trine with the Moon trine Pluto in Capricorn and the Moon trine Jupiter in Taurus. If we keep our nose to the grindstone, not get distracted by maudlin sentimentality, we could virtually move mountains and advance our interests. The key to this day and these two weeks will be to maintain our focus and not be diverted by mood swings. That could prove a tall order but let’s keep in mind that this time can be effective and successful if only…

Thursday, April 5th – What it is, What it ain’t – Mercury, Moon Void-of-Course, Venus, Uranus, Neptune. Thursday can be one of those mad hatter days. Not a bad hair day as much as slightly insane. Not only have we just had Mercury turn direct, which could be a little unnerving around the first days whenever Mercury turns direction. We start this Thursday with the Moon in Mercury-ruled Virgo opposing Mercury in Pisces, where Mercury is uncomfortable and also with Mercury having just turned direct. Glossing over details, not having full information and basing decisions more on appearances than substance could be part of the illusion of this Thursday ramped up by Venus square Neptune. We are unlikely to be on firm footing today but rather swayed by the images and the hype prevalent. The Moon goes Void-of-Course for almost ten hours making no further connections to the planets as it finishes its transit of Virgo and before entering Libra where the Moon trines Venus and opposes Uranus. We could easily get caught up in a wave of excitement far more interested in accepting whatever pleases us rather than our doing the due diligence to see whether we are chasing moonbeams in the sky or actually moving in right directions. If we could rein in our emotions, dampen our desires for wish fulfillment and get more realistic about what is truly going on, then we might limit the liable damage we could do to ourselves. Judicious actions and sober decisions are called for today but possibly too few of us will engage them.

Friday, April 6th – Catching Up – Pluto, Libra Full Moon, Sun. Friday continues with the Moon in Libra. Today, the Moon squares Pluto and then opposes the Sun at the time of the Full Moon. Our routine matters may demand our attention and call for us to take care of business. This Friday can be a catch-up day, a day when we deal with outstanding issues. We might have been either on a flyer during some of this week or slightly unproductive. Today calls for us to catch up with friends, tie up loose ends and prepare for the weekend and a weekend when we may be focused on errands and a good Spring cleaning. This Full Moon on Friday also asks us to find the balance between our personal interests, our individual needs and our own agenda and those of other people. If we have been merrily going our own way over the past two weeks, and it is likely that we have done so, then this Friday may call for us to make amends for any slights to other people that we might have unconsciously made. Even if our schedule is full, a note or an email or a call to those important people in our lives would be a welcome sign. It would be wise for us to get out of our own way today and be diplomatic and socially correct.

Saturday, April 7th – Doing What Needs to Be Done – Saturn, Neptune, Mars, Venus. Saturday begins with the Libra Moon trine Saturn. The Moon then moves into Scorpio where the Moon trines Neptune and sextiles Mars. Venus squares Mars. Yesterday might have had us playing catch-up with people we needed to contact. Today could have us starting a weekend of a good Spring cleaning. We may be focused on clearing the decks and ridding ourselves of stuff we no longer need or use. We might get so caught up in the eliminating process that we become almost obsessed with cutting to the core. We have to be careful that we are not getting rid of things that might still have some life to them or that we could use in the days ahead. Not that we should become hoarders and not get rid of anything. But we might be so enamored with clearing things away that we just start throwing away anything and everything. Let’s take our time, do an appropriate inventory taking and then start our Spring cleaning in a mindful manner. Let’s also be aware that in doing our errands and doing a clean-up, various memories and emotional issues are likely to arise. If they do so, it would be wise to keep in mind the image of us standing under a waterfall and the droplets of past experiences, past incidents, and old matters flowing over us but not getting stuck on us. Whenever we clean things out, it is like opening Pandora’s box and a flood of memories and emotions are likely to sweep over us. This weekend is also a significant religious weekend, with today being the start of Passover and tomorrow Easter Sunday. We may be doing a great deal of reflecting this weekend, considering what is truly important for us and what we need to be freed from.

Sunday, April 8th – the Rebirth of Spring – Pluto, Jupiter. This Sunday is Easter Sunday, the day of resurrection in Christian theology and representative of the renaissance of Spring. This Sunday continues with the Scorpio Moon, which today sextiles Pluto and opposes Jupiter. Although this weekend is a great time to do a significant Spring cleaning and clearing out, we might also feel like the emperor with no clothes, naked unto the world. There is a wise and true saying that states ‘the cup has to be emptied before it can be filled’. The universe does not like a vacuum and as we clear things away we make space for the new to come forward. While this is a natural law and a law of being, we also have to avoid rushing the river, making things happen before their time. Such a tendency could occur today. Although this weekend is prime for a strong clearing out and cleaning up, we could have the tendency to fill spaces with new stuff. We could be looking to put on our Springtime finery, whether clothes shopping or additions to our home furnishings. We have all been conditioned to be active and acquisitive, but spending time in quite contemplation can also provide a hiatus between what we have done, where we have been and what we might do and where we might go without re-creating our past.
