The astrology for this week of December 7th through the 13th of 2020 can have us feeling like Alice peering through the looking glass.
This week is highlighted by Neptune energies whereby what we see may not be what we get. Transparency might be limited, our clarity at best opaque. This is a week for us to tone down our expectations and take nothing at face value.
Our tendency, and our desires, could be to spread our wings and expand our involvements. Like a bird in a gilded cage wanting to fly, many of us may have had more than enough with the lockdowns imposed upon us by various authorities. We can be champing at the bit, but it would be wise for us to be cautious in regard to how we might choose to broaden our activities.
While extreme actions are likely this week, what we have to be wary of is any liability to falling into victim mode, assuming that we are merely pawns in the control of the powers-that-be.
Conditions may be limiting, but our reaction to circumstance is largely up to us, our attitude and our behavior.
Let’s focus on what we need to get done, attend to the details, and appreciate how we can best proceed under the present parameters.
There is no need for us to get frustrated. More so than ever before, these times of paradigm shift promise sudden and dramatic alterations to life and how we are doing life. Now reflects the advent of things happening often in the most inexplicable ways and sometimes without much effort on our part, except for us to be open to receive.
Next week heralds a major transformation as first Saturn and then Jupiter move out of Capricorn to enter Aquarius. The Stellium in Capricorn that has dogged us this year will be over. We shall be crossing into a new world order with the Technological Revolution and the Information Age, indicative of the Aquarian Age.
In deed, we are moving out from the old and into uncharted waters of the new. We may need to fasten our seat belt for the wild whipsaws we might encounter, but let’s sit back and enjoy the wild and crazy ride.
Monday, December 7th – Working on the Periphery – Uranus, Lunar T-Square, Mercury, Sun, Neptune. Monday begins the week with the Virgo Moon trine Uranus, and the Moon triggering a Mutable Sign T-Square as the Moon squares both Mercury and the Sun both in Sagittarius, and the Moon opposed Neptune. This is a day for us to incorporate streamlined methodology and to stay focused on what we wish to accomplish. As the saying goes: ‘the pathway to hell is paved with good intentions’. And so it may be on this Monday. Despite the fact that we can be highly accomplished as we start the day, our sense of ease and infallibility could land us in a heap of trouble by our trying to do too much, by our being distracted by needless diversions, and by our dropping our attention to detail. While we can engage various projects in a best practices approach, we have to be wary of chopping and changing throughout the day with us winding up with nothing but various threads of outstanding matters without completion to any. We may want to get on with things, deal with any number of issues, but it would be wise that we not get in our own way. Being receptive and open to unexpected means of doing our routine tasks can be far more effective than biting off more than we can chew.
Tuesday, December 8th – Picking Up the Pieces – Venus, Pluto, Jupiter, Saturn. Yesterday might have started off with everything falling neatly into place. The day then might have degenerated into boundless confusion where our confidence had us like a dog chasing its tail, running around but not achieving much except a whirlwind of activity. This Tuesday is in sharp contrast to yesterday’s antics. Today, the Virgo Moon sextiles Venus, and the Moon trines the three Capricorn-transiting planets of Pluto, Jupiter, and Saturn. As opposed to yesterday, when we might have taken on more and more activities but without much success in our endeavors, this Tuesday allows us to virtually move mountains and accomplish great results. We can be highly astute as to our expenditures, whether our expenditures are our time, our monies, our focus. Attention to detail will go a long way in advancing our long-term ambitions. We may have to have nose to grindstone, but we seem to be highly resourceful, resilient and perseverant today. No matter the confusion we might have created for ourselves yesterday, this Tuesday allows us to pick up the pieces, put things neatly together, and successfully develop our projects. This is a primo day for us to be extremely productive and effective in everything we do. Later in the day, the Moon exits Virgo to enter Libra.
Wednesday, December 9th – World of Confusion – Mercury, Sun, Neptune. Wednesday has the Moon in Libra with the Moon sextile Mercury later in the day. We also have one of the Neptune configurations that can trigger a world of confusion this week. On Monday, we had the Moon opposed Neptune as it triggered a Mutable Sign T-Square. On Saturday, Mercury squares Neptune. And today the Sun squares Neptune. This is a day when we have to be wary of our plans and intentions. We could be looking at ourselves with unbounded confidence but a confidence that may be more akin to ‘a strong offense is a good defense’ rather than a solid belief in our abilities. It would be wise for us to draw upon the advice of a trusted confidante, not a ‘yes’ person but rather someone who is both our advocate and willing to tell it ‘like it is’. We can have an inflated ego today but without seeing clearly what is in front of us, and an ego expression that might mask our personal vulnerabilities and insecurities. This is a day for us to go slow, not rush headlong into anything, and with a recognition that whatever we engage we could always turn back from. It would be wise for us to acknowledge our self-doubts and hash out with someone our plans before we move forward with them. Although none of us like confusion, I always say that ‘confusion is the starting point of wisdom’, for confusion forces a detachment from our belief system and mindset and potentially offers a blank slate and a fresh perspective from which to view things.
Thursday, December 10th – Keeping One’s Own Counsel – Sun, Lunar T-Square, Mars, Pluto, Jupiter, Saturn, Venus. Thursday has the Moon continuing its transit of Libra with the Moon today sextile the Sun and the Moon triggering a Lunar T-Square in the Cardinal Signs as the Libra Moon opposes Mars in Aries and the Moon squares the three Capricorn-transiting planets of Pluto, Jupiter, and Saturn. The Moon then exits Libra to enter Scorpio late in the day. Venus sextiles Pluto. We could accomplish a great deal today IF: we would prioritize our activities, not get full of ourselves or ahead of ourselves, and not be drawn away from our tasks by the demands or needs of someone else. Other people’s input might prove confusing or a needless distraction. This day is better served by having head down, nose to grindstone, engaging humility and by attending to our responsibilities. Concentrating on the details would assure few missteps and make certain that we are proceeding in a solid manner. We can be highly resourceful, but we do have to be wary of being completely self-absorbed. Someone might take our attitude of self-focus as an exhibit of narcissism and arrogance. Relationships could prove dicey, but it would be wise to keep in mind that any personal issues may be more the other person’s agenda when in reality we might prefer to be left alone in order to do our own thing.
Friday, December 11th – Second Wind – Uranus, Sun, Mars. The Scorpio Moon on this Friday opposes Uranus, and the Sun trines Mars. We may feel energized and ready to take on the world today. Whether we had any dustups yesterday or were able to skirt personal issues, today is a day when we are feeling optimistic, ready to spread our wings, and looking to expand our involvements. Whatever allows us to put our personal mark upon affairs could be enticing. Although this Friday may prove to be a ME day, unexpected situations can arise that force us to change our plans. Let’s keep in mind that two of the characteristics of these tumultuous and disruptive times during this paradigm shift are flexibility and adaptability. With changing circumstance comes changes in direction and alterations to our intentions. If we get stuck on how we want things and the ways we want to proceed, we could get one of those lateral lobotomies that the universe might give with a whack to the side of our head. This is a day to put our personal mark upon things, but such a disposition doesn’t need us to spend a fortune in doing so. Let’s broaden our involvements without going broke in the process. And keep in mind that the true excitement in life is enjoying the journey and not obsessing on the presumed destination.
Saturday, December 12th – Visualization and Implementation – Neptune, Pluto, Venus, Jupiter, Saturn. Saturday continues with the Scorpio Moon with the Moon today trine Neptune, the Moon conjunct Venus, and the Moon sextile the three Capricorn-transiting planets of Pluto, Jupiter and Saturn. Late in the day, the Moon exits Scorpio to enter Sagittarius. Thursday may have had some screwups when the Moon squared the Capricorn-transiting planets, abetted by a tinge of narcissism that could have crept in with the Moon opposed Mars. This Saturday, on the other hand, gives us the impetus to give thought to what we intend for the day before putting our spirit into action. By planning our day and drawing upon good time management skills, this is a day when we can conceive the right action for our engagements and then implement our plans in a structured and orderly way. There are times when we can be in a rush, fly out the door, and often solely on the proverbial wing and a prayer. Today is not one of those times. On the contrary, we might give thought to our plans for the day. We can be highly effective and productive today without our missing a beat or anything left unattended. The combination of visualization in our planning and the implementation of a best practices approach can grease the wheels for a highly successful day when we could accomplish a lot.
Sunday, December 13th – From the Sublime to the Ridiculous – Mercury, Neptune. The Moon transits through Sagittarius without making any connections today. Mercury squares Neptune. This week may have seemed like a roller coaster with various ups and downs, times of clarity, other times of confusion. The confusion might have come with the adverse aspects of Neptune with the Moon opposed Neptune on Monday, the Sun square Neptune on Wednesday, and now again today with Mercury square Neptune. Yesterday could have been clear as a bell with our intuitive and feeling sense heightened and our ability to be grounded, practical, and effective in doing whatever we set out for ourselves. Yesterday might have seemed sublime. As astrology deals with cycles and changing patterns of energy configurations, we are not always in an idyllic setting. Today can be challenging for us to keep our thoughts logical, practical, and realistic. Our thoughts could entertain all sorts of ideas, wide-ranging, some of which border on the ridiculous. Today is not a day to make significant decisions, and it might be best to defer any major purchases. What we see might not be what we get, so it would be suggested we take everything today with a grain of salt, be tentative in our judgements, and not get swept up in a wave of fanciful beliefs. We may have our head in the clouds, but we need to keep our feet firmly planted on the ground.
