The astrology for this week of December 14th through the 20th of 2020 can have us singing the Fats Waller classic song ‘The Joint is Jumping’ with an affirmation of the refrain: “It’s really jumpin’”
The energy this week opens the door to a brand, new era with energy configurations that can have us riding the waves into the new paradigm of the Aquarian Age. The main thing will be for us to maintain our balance, be flexible and adaptable during these tumultuous and disruptive times.
This is the last week of the autumn season prior to next Monday’s winter solstice and the beginning of the winter season.
The week begins on Monday with the Sagittarius New Moon, a Solar Eclipse, which connects the two ‘good guys’ of the planetary realm with the sextile between Venus and Jupiter, and engages a complementary coming together of brain and brawn with Mercury trine Mars.
We are off to the races this week with various Sign changes, two of them major, major. On Tuesday, Venus exits Scorpio to enter Sagittarius triggering a brief Stellium in the Mutable Fire Sign. Relationships, which might have been dicey over the past three weeks with people being suspicious and jealous, may lighten up with a stronger upbeat quality as we look to enjoy the holidays under dramatically changed conditions.
The Sagittarius Stellium is short-lived as Mercury exits Sagittarius on Sunday to enter Capricorn.
The Capricorn Stellium that has enforced impositions and restrictions over this past year also comes to an end this week, as two of the Capricorn-transiting planets exit the Cardinal Earth Sign to enter the Fixed Air Sign of Aquarius. These are the two major, major Sign changes, as first Saturn on Thursday and then Jupiter on Saturday enter Aquarius.
Welcome to a new world order and the greater thrust into the paradigm shift with the technological revolution of the information age.
To borrow again from the Fats Waller song, this week can be characterized as:
“This here spot is more than hot
In fact, the joint is jumpin’”
Monday, December 14th – All Together NOW – Neptune, Mercury, Mars, Sagittarius New Moon, Solar Eclipse, Sun, Moon Void-of-Course, Venus, Jupiter. Monday begins the week with the Sagittarius Moon square Neptune, the Moon conjunct Mercury, the Moon trine Mars, and the Moon conjunct the Sun at the Sagittarius New Moon [11:17 AM EST], a Solar Eclipse. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for over eleven hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon completes its transit of Sagittarius and before the Moon enters Capricorn late in the day. Venus sextiles Jupiter, and Mercury trines Mars. This Monday can have us firing on all cylinders. We might feel as if everything is coming up roses, going our way, and that we are invincible in whatever we choose to do. Rose-colored glasses are an upbeat way to view the world, and I wouldn’t want to diminish any ‘feelgood’ attitude, especially after months of our feeling tied down, restricted and inhibited by the fear mongering associated with the virus. It would be wise that we temper our confidence and enthusiasm and try to maintain a realistic viewpoint. The New Moon does impact the next two weeks up to the Full Moon on the 29th, and these two weeks allow us to put our best foot forward, so long as we can maintain our balance on the shifting sands.
Tuesday, December 15th – Better Ways – Uranus, Venus, Saturn, Venus Sagittarius. Tuesday has the Capricorn Moon trine Uranus. Venus sextiles Saturn prior to Venus exiting Scorpio to enter Sagittarius [11:21 AM EST]. This Tuesday can be a highly productive day, a day when we can streamline our operations and be incredibly resourceful. If we focus on our goals and what we wish to achieve, we could get a lot done without any excess or things unresolved. We are going through major shifts this week, we are nearing the end of the year, and it would be wise for us to tie up loose ends and deal with outstanding matters, in order to have a clean slate on which to draw new trajectories, consider alternative approaches, and be more effective with less expenditure of energy. Let’s attend to our responsibilities and be open to unexpected incidents that might herald options and alternatives of which we have not been aware. We may be stepping onto the magical mystery tour as we further engage the paradigm shift and enter asequential reality. We might not want to be encumbered by the dated, outmoded, and past issues that could be irrelevant to our future. Relationships can be more upbeat. We’re less liable to put people under the microscope to see their flaws, more likely to accept people as they are, and may even embrace the sentiment ‘let’s live and let live’.
Wednesday, December 16th – Taming the Beast – Neptune, Mars, Pluto. Wednesday has the Capricorn Moon sextile Neptune, the Moon square Mars, and the Moon conjunct Pluto. If we can harness the energy and tone down our intensity, this Wednesday could be a highly productive day when we could deal with our responsibilities, attend to the details, and conclude various matters. The key element for a successful day is for us to avoid taking on too much, rushing through our activities, or being overly self-absorbed. Planning our day instead of rushing into our day would help devise our logistics and focus on our priorities. We may prefer doing something other than our tasks at hand, but it would be wise for us to deal with our pressing demands first and then take the time to explore new ventures. It’s important for us to keep in mind that much of our attention will soon focus on our future plans and autonomous projects. Before we get there, it might be best to clean up and clear out the debris of our past so as not to be saddled with outstanding matters as our concentration shifts to future engagements.
Thursday, December 17th – Welcome to Your World – Jupiter, Saturn, Venus, Uranus, Saturn Aquarius. Thursday begins the day with the Capricorn Moon conjunct Jupiter. The Moon then goes into Aquarius where today the Aquarius Moon conjuncts Saturn. The Moon sextiles Venus, and the Moon squares Uranus. Saturn exits Capricorn to enter Aquarius [12:04 AM EST]. Wednesday and early Thursday are best served taking care of outstanding matters and completing routine tasks. We are entering a new world, a new ‘normal’ to our daily living. With Saturn today and Jupiter on Saturday, we are being thrust increasingly into the Technological Revolution of the Information Age. Saturn will be transiting Aquarius into the late winter of 2023. We saw a prelude to the Saturn Aquarius characteristics during the Spring period of this year when Saturn briefly transited the Sign. Due to the virus and society’s response to it of a lockdown, many of the major characteristics in our lives changed drastically. School became virtual instruction at home. Doctor appointments became telemedicine events. Our job was done by telecommuting from our home. Technology became our major means of communication and primary ways of our involvement in the world. Much of what we experienced during this past Spring may become characteristic of our new ‘normal’. Streamlining our operations will demand self-discipline and time management skills, and in the process may provide us ever more time previously used in shuttling to and from, whereas now our home base may become the major center of all our life activities. In order to acclimate to our new ways of living, we could find ourselves having to purchase equipment or software or other items in order to effectively deal with our new modes of operation.
Friday, December 18th – Reach Out of the Darkness – Mars. Friday continues with the Aquarius Moon with the Moon today sextile Mars. There may not be a great deal of energy as we approach the weekend, at least the energy for work or attending to our usual obligations. On the contrary, with Christmas week next week, we may be more geared up for holiday. If we can get away, we might choose to do so on this Friday. Otherwise, we are likely to celebrate with family, friends and colleagues in whatever format we choose, whether in person or through our various forms of telecommunications. If the authorities plan on continuing imposition of the lockdowns during this holiday period, they may have great difficulty in enforcing their rules. The Aquarian energy is associated with freedom, individuality, doing one’s own thing and greater autonomy rather than conformity. It could prove interesting to what degree people are willing to comply with edicts handed down from above [state authorities, not god]. As people become use to the anxiety provoking and fear mongering, the spell of the warnings lessens. With the increasing strength of the Aquarian energy, people are more likely to do what they choose to do. Instead of being controlled, marshalled and herded by fear, people might decide to reach out of the darkness and determine their own paths to pursue.
Saturday, December 19th – All Things Possible – Mercury, Sun, Moon Void-of-Course, Venus, Uranus, Jupiter Aquarius. Saturday can have us feeling upbeat, optimistic, and ready to spread our wings. The day begins with the Moon completing its transit of Aquarius, and with the Moon sextile both Mercury and the Sun both in Sagittarius. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for almost four hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Aquarius and before the Moon enters Pisces. The Pisces Moon today squares Venus, and the Moon sextiles Uranus. The Sun conjuncts Mercury, and Jupiter exits Capricorn and enters Aquarius [8:07 AM]. We are likely to be taking off today, whether physically in traveling or figuratively in our thoughts of all the things we could engage that would allow us to exhibit our full range of talents. Yes, this Saturday is likely to have us upbeat and looking at the wide, wide world of possibilities. With this weekend being the weekend before the Christmas week, the spirit of Christmas, and the spirit of the Winter Solstice where the light is born in the darkness, can put us in a soulful mood. We are likely to give thought to all the expressions of good cheer and the promise of magic and miracles that both the paradigm shift and the winter solstice promise us for the days ahead. Even if we feel shackled by physical circumstance, we may come to the realization that, no matter the earthly restrictions, our spirit and our soul are always able to fly free.
Sunday, December 20th – Endings and Beginnings – Neptune, Mercury Capricorn. Sunday has the Pisces Moon conjunct Neptune, and Mercury exiting Sagittarius to enter Capricorn [6:07 PM EST]. The Mercury change in Sign ends the brief Stellium, or powerpack, in Sagittarius that we had since last Tuesday when Venus entered Sagittarius to join Mercury and the Sun in the Mutable Fire Sign. The Moon in Pisces has the Moon transiting the last Sign of the Zodiac, and this Sunday is the last day of the autumn season prior to tomorrow’s Winter Solstice and the beginning of the winter season. We are also coming towards the end of this year — endings and beginnings, paradigm shift. Tomorrow has the ‘great conjunction’ of Jupiter and Saturn, both having come into Aquarius this week, and a conjunction that is the closest conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn in 800 years. We may be highly moody and extremely emotional today. If we would take the time to step away from the hurly-burly of our lives and reflect, contemplate and consider, we are likely to be filled with the spirit of goodness and love, the true reflection of the universe and our constant opportunity for expression on the earth plane. We are about to cross the threshold into a new age, what some might consider as an entry into the promised land, a golden age, and a leaving behind of the dark age, which the Hindus refer to as the Kali Yuga. Endings and beginnings, although with the paradigm shift into asequential reality there are no endings, no beginnings, but rather continual unfoldings with inexplicable twists and turns. A new day dawning.
