The astrology for this week of November 30th through the 6th of December 2020 can have us scurrying around in the holiday mode exacerbated by our exhaustion from the extended [extending] lockdowns.
We start the week with the Gemini Full Moon, a Lunar Eclipse, and a sense that certain matters have finally been concluded. While we might assume that situations have been completed and various issues resolved, it would be wise for us to keep in mind the age-old idiom ‘the devil is in the details’.
By glossing over the particulars, we could easily lead ourselves down a garden path based upon hype and an acceptance gained from only a cursory consideration.
As the week unfolds, we may feel more upbeat, more engaged in the holiday spirit that adds to an attitude of wish fulfillment, an escape from our mundane reality, and a desire for a perfect world without hard, cold reality impinging upon our fantasies.
Impinge reality might do, for although our focus can be on closing out this godawful year of 2020 with hope for a better 2021, our past might rear its ugly head with us being tripped up by habit patterns and engrained behaviors. It’s hard to shake off what we have done, whom we have been, when we still have a degree of attachment to the old and familiar.
Despite the pulls of responsibilities and obligations towards the latter part of the week, the weekend allows us to traipse into fantasyland, embrace the idyllic and engage playful and fun events.
This is a week, like life itself, that has a myriad of variations.
Monday, November 30th – Light of Clarity or Delusion – Gemini Full Moon, Lunar Eclipse, Sun, Mars, Neptune, Moon Void-of-Course, Mercury, Saturn. Monday begins the week with the Gemini Full Moon [4:30 AM EST], a Lunar Eclipse, as the Gemini Moon opposes the Sun. The Moon sextiles Mars, and the Moon squares Neptune. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for over twenty-three hours as the Moon finishes its transit of Gemini without making any further connections to the planets and before the Moon enters Cancer late on Tuesday evening. Mercury sextiles Saturn. This is a day that demands we keep our wits about us and not get carried away by various diversions or distractions by trying to do too much. Once engaged, we could be fast out the door, ready to put our mark on our world and forcefully advance our interests. We have to be wary of being arrogant and narcissistic, for without planning our day we could rush headlong down the garden path without realizing there’s a brick wall awaiting us at the end. And what a misfortune our haste and self-absorption might create, when proper planning can provide the right navigation tools by which we could harness our energy effectively and be highly productive once rightly focused. The Mercury sextile Saturn completes Mercury’s sextile aspects to the three Capricorn-transiting planets, the earlier two to Pluto and Jupiter occurring last week. We may be especially clear and accomplished today, if we would draw upon brain before brawn.
Tuesday, December 1st – Conceptual Rather than Practical – Moon Void-of-Course, Mercury Sagittarius. Tuesday begins the month of December with the Gemini Moon Void-of-Course for much of this day as the Moon makes no aspects to the planets before the Moon enters Cancer late in the day. Mercury exits its own Sign of Gemini to enter Sagittarius [2:51 PM EST], a Sign of its Detriment where Mercury’s mental faculties can be highly expansive taking into account all the many facets of a situation, including the proverbial kitchen sink. We may be far more upbeat than we have been, but our practically might be minimal at best. After what might have been a manic Monday, this Tuesday could have us considering all our possibilities, and especially those that are far afield. Although we might be hampered in physical distant travel, we might enjoy getting out of Dodge in our mind’s eye. Being anywhere other than where we are can be highly appealing. Today may be better served letting our mind wander rather than expecting us to get a great deal done. We might have to hunker down later in the week, even if we go kicking and screaming, but today is a day for us to figuratively spread our wings and float along the air currents of our mind.
Wednesday, December 2nd – Alternatives – Uranus. The Cancer Moon sextiles Uranus today. This is a day for us to think outside the box and take into account our options and various alternatives. Changing things up in our personal space can trigger more significant changes later. We just have to start with minor alterations to get things going. Streamlining our operations could have us being more effective with less expenditure of energy. Drawing upon technological tools or time-saving equipment may enhance our productivity. If we are in a shopping mood, we could come across some bargains, real finds that can make our daily life far easier. We can also be witness to some interesting synchronistic happenings, those incidents that reflect the paradigm change into asequential reality. The sense of sequential, linear reality may be dropping away as we experience what we might have earlier called magic and miracles. These unanticipated events may not be earth shaking but they can be head scratching, as we wonder how certain things come about, sometimes solely by our being in the right place at the right time. This is a day for us not to get in our own way or try to be the sole controller of our life’s unfolding, but rather to be open to receive some surprising occurrence. Life happens, and we need to embrace the opportunities even if they run contrary to our own belief system or to our understanding of what is really going on.
Thursday, December 3rd – Push Pulls Between Reality and Fantasy – Lunar Grand Trine, Venus, Neptune, Lunar T-Square, Mars, Pluto. The early part of the week could have had us traipsing through a fantasy world where possibilities seemed limitless, even the impossible plausible. This Thursday can have us in a push pull between having our head in the clouds pulled down by our having our feet on the ground. Focusing on the idyllic, we have a Lunar Grand Trine in the Water Element with the Cancer Moon trine Venus in Scorpio, and the Moon trine Neptune in Pisces. Our sensitivity is enhanced with a feeling that everything does in deed work out in the end. While we might be inclined to a passive receptivity today, the Lunar T-Square impels us to action as the Moon squares Mars in Aries early in the day, followed by the Moon opposed Pluto late in the day. Even if we would prefer to while away our time in the realm of limitless possibilities and the magic of these times when things can occur with minimal effort, if any, on our part, we may feel our responsibilities and our need to power our own direction to be too strong to neglect. And, thus, begins the paradox of these times — assertive action to make things happen vs. the acceptance of serendipitous occurrences and our being provided opportunities not of our own making. The paradigm shift we are all experiencing is a tug-of-war between old and new, between linear, sequential reality of beginning, middle, end and the asequential reality of things occurring in most inexplicable ways, often without what seems to be any rhyme or reason.
Friday, December 4th – Back on the Chain Gang – Jupiter, Saturn, Mercury, Uranus. Coming off of last evening when we might have felt our routine obligations impinging upon our escapist tendencies, we start this Friday needing to deal with our responsibilities and tying up loose ends prior to the weekend. We start the day with the Cancer Moon opposed Jupiter and Saturn both in Capricorn. The Moon then moves into Leo with the Moon trine Mercury late in the day and the Moon square Uranus to end the day. We may need to bring certain issues to conclusion, and it would be wise for us to address outstanding matters, even if we have to ‘grin and bear it’. This is a day to do work before play. We don’t want to bring many demanding tasks into this weekend, a weekend that seems better geared for us to have a good time, enjoy ourselves and recharge our batteries. Straightening things up and clearing the decks would be advised for the early morning hours. As the day unfolds, we are likely to be feeling upbeat, wanting to spread our wings, and putting our own enjoyment ahead of any obligations. We do have to be wary of the expenses related to fun events. We could go for the gold, and in the process spend a great deal of gold.
Saturday, December 5th – Good Time Charlie – Lunar Grand Trine, Sun, Mars, Venus, Moon Void-of-Course, Neptune. Saturday continues with the Leo Moon with the Moon square Venus, and the Moon today triggering a Fire Grand Trine with the Moon trine the Sun in Sagittarius and the Moon trine Mars in Aries. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for over twenty-one hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Leo and before the Moon moves into Virgo Sunday afternoon. Venus trines Neptune. Thursday gave us a Lunar Grand Trine in Water. Today gives us a Lunar Grand Trine in Fire. We may have more fire in our belly today, but we do need to keep track of our finances. Fun events could prove expensive, so it would be wise for us to budget our times and our monies. Relationships can be close to idyllic. Interactions with other people may concentrate on a soulful quality. This Saturday is truly geared to FUN, so let’s deal with our responsibilities on Thursday and Friday in order to have a blank slate on Saturday to fully enjoy ourselves. Friday night and Saturday are times when we could fully appreciate the true joy in living.
Sunday, December 6th – the Calm – Moon Void-of-Course. Sunday continues with the Leo Moon Void-of-Course with the Moon making no connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Leo. In the afternoon, the Moon moves into Virgo. There are no planetary aspects today, and so not a great deal of energy. With the Moon still going through Leo during the morning into the early afternoon, we may choose this day to continue the good times we are likely to have experienced on Saturday. Unlike yesterday when we might have gone for the ‘gusto’, this Sunday is more likely to be a time when we take the energies down, focus on relaxation and re-creation and just enjoy ourselves without us pushing the limits. As the day unfolds, we may be looking at what we need to do when the new week starts tomorrow. We can start to schedule and plan out our week ahead. But much of this weekend is geared to having a good time and enjoying ourselves.
