The astrology for this week of November 2nd through the 8th of 2020 may have us scurrying around, seeking shelter from the vicissitudes of these tumultuous times, and trying to get a handle on things as Mercury ends its three-week retrograde cycle and turns direct.
The week begins with us trying to get a grip on how best to proceed, all the while that we are juggling any number of things. For many of us in the US, we are trying to acclimate to this past Sunday’s ending of daylight savings time. We may fall back with an extra hour of sleep, but our daylight hours continue to shorten as we approach the impending darkness of winter.
There is no fall back position in our lives now at a time when we have to maintain constant vigilance, be ever mindful and fully aware of the conditions and circumstances in which we find ourselves.
Mercury turns direct on Tuesday and ends its three-week retrograde cycle. Conversations can be pointed with people pontificating their opinion. Information could be skewed according to the prevailing narrative, which is the propensity of this post-modern world where everything becomes relative and more liable to be subjective rather than objective.
We might all seek reassurance from a trusted friend despite the liability of confusion and chaos.
The latter part of the week can have us finding solace in our home. Even if we have made certain commitments or have certain responsibilities, our choice could be to postpone engagements and spend some alone time in our personal sanctuary with those people we love.
The weekend would be a time for us to re-create whether that means our participation in fun events or our observing creative endeavors.
All in all, this week asks us to be good to ourselves and appreciate the sentiment that ‘life’s too mysterious, don’t take it serious’.
Monday, November 2nd – Hurry, Scurry – Venus. Monday begins the week with the Moon entering Gemini. Late in the day, the Moon trines Venus. This is the last full day of the Mercury retrograde and also the day before Election Day in the US. People may be in a hurry, scurrying around but accomplishing little. Why does it seem that everyone is waiting for a shoe, or more likely an anvil, to drop? Shop owners are boarding up their windows. Commentators are fueling the flames by discussing the liability of riots, lootings, burnings and a civil war. And then, of course, there’s the pandemic and the spiking of cases with threats of a further lockdown. Welcome to the apocalypse or, at least, a dystopian view of our future. This day suggests we all just ‘chill out’, a concept that is liable to be neglected. If we don’t get caught up in the frenzy and the fear mongering, we could use this day to enjoy the camaraderie of a good friend. Not everybody needs to be a Debbie Downer or an Eeyore. Some of us can look to the benefits of these tumultuous times, whereby things can change dramatically and suddenly. Despite the negativity saturating society presently, let’s keep in mind the paradigm shift. We are moving from linear, sequential reality into the asequential reality where things can occur in the most unexpected ways. Today would allow us to see the broad spectrum of possibilities where even the seemingly impossible could be possible.
Tuesday, November 3rd – All the Misses – Mars, Neptune, Mercury direct. Tuesday continues with the Gemini Moon with the Moon today sextile Mars and the Moon square Neptune. Mercury ends its three-week retrograde cycle and turns direct. Today is Election Day in the US, and the Mercury retrograde to direct occurring today also occurred on Election Day in 2000, a most convoluted presidential election that was ultimately decided by the US Supreme Court. We might not to have go to that same extreme this election, but certainly this day is liable to all sorts of conflicting information both due to Mercury turning direct and the Moon square Neptune. If we could look over our past three weeks, consider what we might need to rework or finish, then we can make our plans for moving forward with our projects and our endeavors. It would be wise for us to give some focus to our own personal interests today and not get caught up in the frenzy of the election discussions. My concern is, and has been since looking at the next six months, that we are heading into a turbulent time, a time when there can be significant acting out, a time demanding that we not get caught up in the crazy theatrics but keep our own personal world in mind to stabilize us and give us a semblance of control, even if our control is only on our emotions and our responses. This day calls for us to take everything heard and said with a grain of salt, because this day can be chocked full of misses — miscommunications, misunderstandings, misdirections, and other various misses.
Wednesday, November 4th – Glimpse of Clarity – Mercury, Moon Void-of-Course. Wednesday has the Moon trine Mercury before the Moon goes Void-of-Course for eight hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon completes its transit of Gemini and before the Moon enters Cancer later in the day. Although there may be continued disagreements about what is going on and with some people expressing their rage, we could have moments of clarity regarding the way forward. This is a good day for us to give thought to our plans for the future, those activities we might choose to pursue. Talking it out with someone is a good way to brainstorm our possibilities and the ways by which to realize our goals. Even if we’re only preaching to the choir, conversations with those people who share our opinions could prove enlivening and enlightening. We may not be totally clear about the unfolding ahead of us, but we might have a better sense of the conditions ahead, be less anxious and can focus on playing the cards we’ve been dealt.
Thursday, November 5th – From the Safety of our Home – Uranus, Sun, Lunar T-Square, Venus, Mars. Thursday has the Moon in Cancer with the Moon today sextile Uranus, the Moon trine the Sun, and the Moon triggering a Cardinal Sign T-Square with the Moon square Venus in Libra and the Moon square Mars in Aries. This Cardinal Sign T-Square has all three of the planets making up the T-Square in Signs they rule, a very powerful configuration. This day talks about our instituting change but doing so in a balanced manner in order to avoid upsetting other people or capitulating our personal needs to the p.c. culture. Although ‘be the change you wish to see in the world’ is wrongly attributed to Mahatma Gandhi, what Gandhi actually said was: “If we could change ourselves, the tendencies in the world would also change. As a man changes his own nature, so does the attitude of the world change towards him…We need not wait to see what others do.” Although the generations of entitlement and the characteristics of a nanny state have permeated our culture, the true excitement and joy in our living is our personal journey, taking things step by step, at times stubbing our toes, other times feeling the exhilaration of our successes. Today is a day when we can incorporate change into our lives, streamlining our operations, becoming ever more independent and autonomous, and looking to a future that allows us to fully engage and exhibit our most creative talents. The one caveat to the day is for us to do our major adjustments in the comfort of our home or internally and not to try to go too far too fast. To paraphrase an old but wise saying ‘the best can yet become’.
Friday, November 6th – Conceptual or Practical – Neptune, Lunar T-Square, Jupiter, Pluto, Saturn, Mercury, Moon Void-of-Course. Friday has the Cancer Moon trine Neptune, and the Moon triggering a Cardinal Sign T-Square with the Moon opposed the three Capricorn-transiting planets of Jupiter, Pluto and Saturn, and the Moon square Mercury in Libra. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for almost six hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon completes its transit of Cancer and before the Moon enters Leo early on Saturday. Mercury squares Saturn. We may feel pulled by our responsibilities today. But we’d far prefer putting our responsibilities on the back burner or on someone else’s shoulders. We might want to complete various outstanding matters prior to the weekend in order to be free and clear for some weekend fun. Things are often easier in concept than in practical implementation, and that could be the case on this Friday. We have to be careful not to push through on certain matters without carefully attending to the specifics and particulars. We could have the liability of just finishing things in a haphazard manner. This is a day to heed the craftsman’s advice of ‘measure twice, cut once’. Unfortunately, this Friday is a day when we are unwilling to heed any advice. On the contrary, we might do what we feel we need to do without interference and without careful evaluation. It would be far better to leave certain matters for a later date if we are just going to rush through them, but our tendency might instead be to engage Larry the Cable Guy’s slogan of ‘Git-r-done’.
Saturday, November 7th – Few Restraints – Uranus. Saturday has the Moon moving into Leo where late in the day the Moon squares Uranus. Fun may be our focus today. After the free-for-all aftermath of the US election, we might be ready and intent on having some good times. If we can do things spontaneously today, that would be our preference. Whatever form of recreation we wish to engage, we are geared for our own personal re-creation. Enough with the craziness in the world-at-large. By having a blank slate on this Saturday, we can color it in any way we choose. Despite the recent lockdowns and the impositions placed upon us by the powers-that-be, we are looking for few, if any, restraints upon our time and our movements today. The one thing we have to be careful about is our expenditures, whether those expenditures are our time, our energy, or our monies. We could be more extravagant than we might like with the eventual pushback of costs we would not want to endure. Moderation is a lost attribute, but today calls for, might even demand, ‘moderation in all things’.
Sunday, November 8th – Good Times, Good Friends – Venus, Mars, Sun. Sunday continues with the Leo Moon with the Moon today sextile Venus, the Moon trine Mars, and the Moon square the Sun. Much of today’s energy occurs in the morning hours. This is a good day to start our day early with the intention of having a good time with a good friend. We all need occasional respites from what appears to be going on in our society, and today we can find those quality moments with special friends. Our activities don’t have to be earth shattering, for even walks in nature and quiet conversations can be uplifting and enlightening. This weekend offers us opportunities of self-care, taking the time to be good to ourselves, appreciate the many blessings in our lives, and enjoy the advantages in living life. It is unnecessary to fill up our day with countless activities. Even moments of reflection and contemplation can nurture our soul and lift our spirit. It is essential that we not lose sight of the true reality that ‘life is good’.
