The astrology for this week of October 5th through the 11th of 2020 has two highly significant energy configurations which caution us to be temperate in mind and restrained in body.
This is the last full week prior to the Mercury retrograde that begins next week for its three-week cycle up into Election Day in the US on November 3rd.
The week begins with us in a highly effective and productive mode. We can accomplish a great deal, and it would be wise for us to do so with the impending Mercury retrograde next week. We could focus on our long-range goals, all the while that we are concentrating both on the specifics and the appearance.
This is a week when it might feel like we’re in a ‘start then stop’ mode.
The early part of the week is a time to start with what we need to get done. It is important that we maintain focus and not be distracted by fascinating but meaningless diversions.
This week also has two of my least favorite energy configurations: Mercury opposed Uranus on Wednesday, Mars square Pluto on Friday.
Mid-week cautions us to avoid jumping to conclusions with Mercury opposed Uranus. While it is suggested under extreme caution to avoid air travel late on Wednesday, we have to be aware of hiccups to travel plans, issues with Internet matters, and possible problems with clear communications. Mid-week demands that we truly be aware and mindful of unexpected situations that could impact our intentions.
The end of the week brings us to the long October holiday weekend in the US but also gives us the Mars square Pluto. The possibility of rushing around, acting belligerently and the liability of violent behavior with explosions and intense physical releases are especially strong. Let’s slow things down, apply the brakes, as we come into this weekend.
Over the weekend, there can be some interesting encounters, unexpected meetings and various surprising events. We do have to be wary of indulgence and extravagance over the weekend.
Although there can be some wild whipsaws this week, let’s keep in mind the wise suggestion of ‘moderation in all things’.
Monday, October 5th – Fast Off the Starting Blocks – Jupiter, Neptune, Pluto, Saturn, Moon Void-of-Course. Monday could have us geared up to complete certain matters and conclude outstanding issues. Perhaps we know, whether consciously or subconsciously, that Mercury is about to turn retrograde. Or maybe we want to clear the decks in order to extend our upcoming long holiday weekend. Whatever the reason might be, we may start the week in overdrive. The Moon continues its transit of Taurus with the Moon today sextile Neptune and the Moon trine the three Capricorn-transiting planets of Jupiter, Pluto, and Saturn. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for almost nine and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon completes its transit of Taurus and before the Moon enters Gemini early on Tuesday morning. If we would take the time to plan our schedule for today, visualize our successful accomplishment of various tasks before starting off, then we could easily plow through any number of items on our ‘to do’ list. This Monday can be a highly productive day if we concentrate on what needs to get done and start off early with an understanding that we might be on overdrive as we start the day with our energy fading later in the day.
Tuesday, October 6th – Too Much, Too Soon – Venus. Tuesday has the Moon coming into Gemini with the Moon today square Venus. Hopefully, we got a lot done yesterday, for we might find ourselves increasingly distracted through much of the rest of this week. If we are trying to accomplish various matters today, let’s not try to do too much by rushing through all sorts of affairs. This is a day for us to focus and concentrate, take things one at a time, and address matters in detail in order to successfully complete them. Someone’s suggestions or input can prove a distraction and steer us off track. The more we can trust our own instincts and slow things down, the better our success rate. People can be a little too critical today, looking at the flaws rather than the attributes. Shooting from the lip could create problems with our relationships. This is a day to slow things down — our actions, our movements, and our expressions. Going too far too fast today may lead to too much too soon.
Wednesday, October 7th – All the Misses – Sun, Neptune, Mars, Moon Void-of-Course, Mercury, Uranus. Wednesday continues with the Gemini Moon with the Moon today trine the Sun, the Moon square Neptune, and the Moon sextile Mars. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for almost fourteen hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon completes its transit of Gemini and before the Moon enters Cancer tomorrow. Mercury opposes Uranus. Wednesday calls for us to adjust our perspective, maintain our clear perception, and not entertain the illusory phantoms of our mind. Our thought processes can be quick, perhaps even too quick to effectively bring down to the lower frequencies of the earth plane. This is a day for us to discipline our mind, not jump to conclusions, and evaluate and re-evaluate as we go along. We might find unexpected issues arising virtually out of nowhere. The adverse connections between Mercury and Uranus caution us regarding travel, communications, and high technology. If we can harness the higher frequencies of this day without being thrown off by apparent apparitions, then our insights could be revelatory. We do need to test and re-test any understandings that we get to be certain of their validity. They may not be empirically proven, but just as long as they make sense in our asequential reality, then we can proceed cautiously with new information, and the unexpected ‘ah-has’. We do not have to engage all the misses today — miscommunications, misunderstandings, misdirections, et. al. It does demand a disciplined mind and one that is open to fascinating alternatives to our perceived reality. An either / or type of day, which calls for us to be on our toes, aware and mindful of the changing conditions.
Thursday, October 8th – Eye of the Storm – Moon Void-of-Course. Thursday begins with the Moon Void-of-Course as the Gemini Moon finishes its transit without making any connections to the planets today. The Moon then moves into Cancer, but the Cancer Moon makes no connections to the planets today. This Thursday finds us between two days that have challenging aspects — the Mercury opposed Uranus yesterday, and the Mars square Pluto tomorrow. This Thursday might be a day best served in turning down the volume, releasing our stress, and finding the joy and comforts of our doing life. We could call it a ‘mental health’ day, a day when we are recovering from some of the misguided energies of yesterday and preparing for the ratcheted intensities of tomorrow. Like a hurricane, we might find ourselves having been buffeted by the furies yesterday only to find ourselves in a calm like the hurricane’s eye today before the furies are once again unleashed tomorrow. Time spent in our own sanctuary today allows us to reflect on whatever mind games may have occurred yesterday and would recharge our batteries for whatever antics might occur tomorrow.
Friday, October 9th – Mindful Rather Than Reactive – Venus, Uranus, Lunar T-Square, Sun, Jupiter, Lunar Grand Trine, Mercury, Neptune, Mars, Pluto. Friday could be one intense day. The Moon continues its transit of its own Sign of Cancer. Yesterday, the Cancer Moon made no connections to the planets. This Friday has the Cancer Moon sextile Venus in Virgo, and the Moon sextile Uranus in Taurus. The Moon also triggers a Cardinal Sign T-Square and a Water Element grand Trine. The Moon squares the Sun in Libra and the Moon opposes Jupiter in Capricorn. The Moon trines Mercury in Scorpio and the Moon trines Neptune in Pisces. While these energies could create a push – pull of energies and something of a whirlwind to the day, the kicker to this Friday is the Mars square Pluto. This is a day that calls for, even demands, that we be mindful and keep a rein on how we are expressing our energies and reacting to whatever is going on around us. The liabilities to blow-ups, aggressive behavior, explosions, blasts, and the like cannot be discounted. There is a great deal of power today, and it is essential that we harness the energy effectively rather than the energy running us ragged.
Saturday, October 10th – Lifting the Veil – Lunar T-Square, Mars, Pluto, Saturn, Moon Void-of-Course, Venus, Uranus. Saturday continues with the Moon in Cancer and with the Moon triggering the Cardinal Sign T-Square again, this time with different players, as the Moon squares Mars in Aries, the Moon opposes both Pluto and Saturn both in Capricorn. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for almost eight and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon completes its transit of Cancer and before the Moon enters Leo late in the day. Venus trines Uranus. We could put ourselves in high gear today as we seek to balance errands that need to be addressed and activities that we want to do either by getting out of town or by engaging in fun activities without any feeling of restraint. The late day can provide an interesting encounter. We might meet someone unexpectedly with whom we enjoy spending time, or we could find an interesting bargain to add to our home environment or personal wardrobe. This is a day for us to appreciate the ability to balance needs and desires and deal with both interests without either resentment for one or wistfulness for the other.
Sunday, October 11th – My Turn – Lunar T-Square, Uranus, Mercury, Sun, Jupiter. Sunday has the Leo Moon triggering a Fixed Sign T-Square with the Moon square Uranus in Taurus, and the Moon square Mercury in Scorpio. The Sun squares Jupiter. This is a day when we might need to restrain our self-absorption. If we are overly confident and fixed in what we want the way that we want it, we could be banging up against the reality of these present times. This is a day when we may push the envelope, try to do too much, spend too much, and be a little too much for other people. We can be looking for some fun times and willing to do so at great extravagance. If we are going shopping today, it would be wise to keep in mind that following days could bring buyer’s remorse. A liability of overdoing and doing without considering the consequences are strong today. This is a day when our narcissistic tendencies and a sense of entitlement can wind us up with high bills and a feeling of disappointment that what we thought would give us an uplift proved only to disappoint and frustrate us. This Sunday calls for moderation in all things, for our tendency today would be to go over the top. It would be wise to remind ourselves that ‘living simply isn’t simply living’. Often our greatest joys come with little or no expense.
