The astrology for this week of July 6th through the 12th of 2020 is the last full week of this three-week Mercury retrograde but continues with much of the backward motion due to the other four retrograde planets.
With all the retrograde planets impacting us right now, we may find that we are having to go back over situations, review them, rework them and reconfigure them before we can truly move forward when the planets turn direct.
One area that we are going back over is the fear generated by the virus. Many counties closed their beaches and their recreational outlets over the past weekend, the July 4th holiday weekend.
The anxiety over this virus is likely to go on, with momentary reliefs, through the mid-autumn period. Fear is a powerful control mechanism, forcing us to be more reactive than truly proactive.
This retrograde period is a review time, a time when we can reflect and contemplate on where we have been, what we have come to, and what we might intend for our future. All the while, we are moving forward in our mind’s eye but stalled in our physical responses.
This sense of being in control of our life situations, all the while being stuck in neutral and feeling powerless, may be especially strong during the mid-week period.
What is essential for us to keep in mind when we are feeling blocked is the reality that during this paradigm shift life is no longer unfolding in a straight-line trajectory but rather progressing through various twists and turns. No longer do we have to go straight through any obstacles but rather we could go around them, under them, over them, in order to successfully move beyond our impediments.
It is also important for us to keep in mind, almost mantram-like, that this paradigm shift affords the natural unfolding in most inexplicable ways, the air of magic and mini-miracles occurring ever more frequently. Welcome to the true new world order.
Our willingness to ‘let go, let god’, as affirmed in the twelve-step programs, can open us to the wondrous surprises of things happening without our making them happen but rather by our being in the ‘right place at the right time’.
A mystical understanding could be strong towards the end of the week. By drawing upon our intuitive sense, we might be able to resolve perplexing issues, streamline our operations, and be more effective with less expenditure of energy.
The weekend might have us throwing ourselves into turbothrust, putting the pedal to the metal, and going from racing our engines in neutral into overdrive. Let’s be aware of where we intend to go and recognize that on Sunday things can get increasingly squirrely as Mercury turns from retrograde to direct motion, times when it is difficult for us to shift our pace, get our rhythm.
We are coming out of the reactive mode and taking on a more assertive mode as we gain greater Fire towards the end of the month and in early August. Yes, there will be ‘hot times in the summertime’.
Monday, July 6th – Changing Direction – Saturn, Mars, Venus. Monday begins the week with the Capricorn Moon conjunct Saturn. The Moon then moves into Aquarius where today the Aquarius Moon sextiles Mars, and the Moon trines Venus. Despite our responsibilities and any pressing demands, we are likely to throw off the yoke of obligations and use this Monday as a day of exploration, investigating new trajectories for ourselves and just enjoying ourselves. It’s summertime and even though this can be one hot summer both in regard to the temperature and people’s temperament, we want to have some good times, not be infected by the fear-mongering contagion, and do our own thing with little constraints from other people or from the powers-that-be. This is a good day to get together with a friend[s], those people who are on the same page as we are and discuss our possibilities for the future. We might not be able to fully engage the potentials right now, but we can certainly discuss our prospects and with an appreciation that the paradigm shift does not have to be about restrictions but rather doing things in different ways and new trajectories that could open up to us in the most unexpected manner.
Tuesday, July 7th – Recalibrating – Uranus, Moon Void-of-Course. After a Monday that could have us surfing the waves of limitless possibilities and considering a wide range of hopes and wishes, Tuesday begins with the Aquarius Moon square Uranus in the early morning hours. Early in the morning, the Moon goes Void-of-Course for almost thirty-eight hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Aquarius and before the Moon enters Pisces on Wednesday afternoon. We might feel as though our balloon of great potentialities is deflating as we take a hard, cold look at our resources with us finding them wanting. We may feel as though we cannot truly pull off some of our grandiose plans, and we might find ourselves spinning our wheels. What we have to keep in mind is the paradigm shift, the radical change from linear reality of beginning, middle and end into an asequential reality where things occur in a most unexpected manner, somewhat magical with mini-miracles happening. No longer do we have to do it all, but we do have to work with the energies, adapt to changing circumstance and be flexible in order to fully benefit from the accelerated pace and the disruptions to the stasis. We just need to recalibrate our expectations and keep an attitude of bemusement with an appreciation that life is good and wondrous and not the dystopian perspective that many people are presently harboring. Much of this Tuesday may best be spent reflecting, contemplating and considering the truth to the Japanese philosophy of wabi-sabi with its ‘perfection of imperfection’.
Wednesday, July 8th – Champing at the Bit – Moon Void-of-Course, Mercury, Mars. Wednesday continues with the lengthy Void-of-Course Moon in Aquarius that began early yesterday morning and continues on into the afternoon when the Moon finally completes its transit of Aquarius and before the Moon enters Pisces. The Moon makes no aspects to the planets today. Mercury squares Mars. One of the greatest lessons to be learned for most of us is patience. We have all been conditioned into making things happen, being in control of our life situations, and forging ahead with machete in hand to carve our own path through life. Nice concept, but it may be in sharp contrast as to where life and our lives at the present are leading us. Although the natural process of living is taking our own path upon our own individual journey through this life experience, recent generations have been conditioned into a coddling of entitlement with a recent modus operandi of being reactive rather than proactive with its extreme response of playing the victim card. Very unhealthy, and very out of synch with the natural course of our doing living. Instead of being capable at walking the narrow balance beam, we could either be argumentative with our opinions unassailable or fall into the victim mode with us feeling taken advantage of. Let’s avoid knee-jerk reactions today with the appreciation that we might not have full information or that what information we might have may not be right. We can champ at the bit today, but it would be far wiser for us to avoid impetuous actions or belligerent conversations.
Thursday, July 9th – Trust in the Process – Mercury, Venus, Uranus. The Pisces Moon on this Thursday has the Moon trine Mercury, the Moon square Venus, and the Moon sextile Uranus. This is a day to trust our instincts. Giving ourselves some alone time might provide the quiet and the space for us to come to a greater understanding as to what is going on and how we can best procced. Our thinking may be emotional or intuitive, but we could get the right sense of things if we don’t get maudlin. It would be important for us to discount the input from someone else, for their opinions and suggestions might be more from their personal perspective rather than a detached and clear understanding of the situation. Late in the day, we can have some ‘ah-ha’ moments, wonderful surprises and clues as to how we could be more productive with less expenditure of energy. Let our inner voice guide us today without being distracted or diverted by the chatter or excessive stimuli. Things can work out easily and effectively if we would trust in the process, not try to control or rush things, but allow things to unfold naturally and in their own course of operations. The early morning will set the stage for the rest of the day.
Friday, July 10th – Easy and Effective – Sun, Neptune, Jupiter, Pluto, Saturn. Through proper planning and streamlined methodology, this Friday can be a highly productive day with extreme ease of operations. The Pisces Moon today trines the Sun, the Moon conjuncts Neptune, and the Moon sextiles the three Capricorn-transiting planets of Jupiter, Pluto and Saturn. Drawing upon the comfort and sanctity of our space of operations, we could develop a visionary approach to our day and then go down our ‘to do’ list checking one thing off after another without glossing over the specifics or neglecting any important detail. Let’s not feel rushed today, for everything is likely to fall neatly into place. Eliminating the dross and prioritizing our activities will help us achieve a great deal in a relatively short period of time. This is a day not to waste. Too much is coming together and fitting neatly into place. Thursday and Friday can be highly effective days in dealing with outstanding matters and tying up loose ends.
Saturday, July 11th – Wind to Our Back – Mercury, Mars, Venus. Saturday has the Moon moving into Aries where today the Aries Moon squares Mercury, the Moon conjuncts Mars, and the Moon sextiles Venus. We might have some errands to accomplish early in the day, but as the day unfolds, we are likely to be looking at moving forward with our personal projects, doing whatever pleases us in having a good time, and enjoying time spent with a special someone. With the Moon entering Aries, we are beginning a new month cycle with a focus now on initiations and start-ups. We may be accentuating our individuality, encouraged by someone and encouraging someone to spread the wings and assert our independence, even if contrary to the edicts handed down to the populace by the powers-that-be. We do have to be wary of being impetuous, for we are also in that squirrely time of Mercury being stationary and about to change direction from retrograde to direct motion tomorrow. Caution is advised as we feel this strong impulse of self-assertiveness. Let’s keep track of what we are doing, where we are doing it, and how we are doing it. Rash behavior is not only dangerous but liable to be unhealthy.
Sunday, July 12th – Banging Against the Standards – Lunar T-Square, Sun, Jupiter, Neptune, Mercury direct. Yesterday may have put some high octane in our tank with us emphasizing our desires, focusing on our personal interests, and choosing to do our own thing. Sunday continues with the Aries Moon with the Moon today triggering a Cardinal Sign T-Square with the Moon square the Sun in Cancer, and the Moon square Jupiter in Capricorn. The Sun sextiles Neptune. This is also the day that Mercury ends its three-week retrograde cycle and turns direct [4:26 AM EDT]. We may engage a sense of being ‘a legend in our own mind’ today. We might feel as though we are being divinely guided, that we can do no wrong, and that what we want is what we should have. Lovely thoughts in concept, but the true reality could have us caroming from one issue or problem to another with a little head-banging in the process. This is a day when it would be wise for us to apply the brakes, slow things down, plan our moves and not role play the ‘rebel without a cause’. If we try to push our willfulness too hard today, we might experience a major push-back that leave our intentions in wrack and ruin. Let’s keep in mind that ‘moderation in all things’ is wise advice and accept the suggestion.
