The astrology for this week of April 13th through the 19th of 2020 offers glimpses of light at the end of the tunnel with many of us champing at the bit against restrictions, limitations, stay-at-home orders, and social distancing.
Mercury having exited Pisces to enter Aries this past Saturday ends the two and a half months cycle when illusions, delusions, deceptions and the like were flouted to increase fear, despair, and panic.
We all could feel ‘enough already’, and the statistics and data may indicate either effective cautious prevention or an overblown reaction to this pandemic, which can also raise the question as to ‘what is really going on?’, ‘what other agendas are operating behind the scenes?’
While we might believe that it is time for the powers-that-be to loosen their grip on our lockdown, the release may be slow coming especially during the first half of this week when we could be banging up against the recent rules and regulations put in place.
The first half of this week might better serve us in dealing with our obligations, outstanding matters and past issues yet to be resolved. We might far prefer to be in an initiatory phase, but it would be wise for us to clean up and clear out tasks not yet completed in order to have a blank slate for when the lifting of our restraints occurs.
The second half of the week seems a great deal more upbeat and inspired. Instead of focusing on the holds to our movements, we may be looking at the distant horizon, the possibilities of our future and giving thought and expression as to what we plan to do next. These recent few weeks have changed us — all of us, both individually and as a society. We might not be fully aware of the dramatic transformations that have gone on, but we do recognize that our future is not our past. As if giving greater credence to the paradigm shift, we are not going back to an old ‘normal’. On the contrary, life has changed and so have we. Like a blank slate, we can reset our own lives and choose how to proceed in the future less encumbered by our past identities.
The weekend might be a time of exploration, even if our terrain to investigate is more our internal realm than our external landscape.
We end the weekend with the Sun exiting Aries and entering Taurus. Our intentions to move ahead may be strong, but we might also have greater patience to take things step-by-step, some of the steps being baby steps, others possibly quantum leaps. The times are not merely a’changing. The times have radically altered.
Welcome to the paradigm shift. Welcome to the altered states.
Monday, April 13th – Not Here but There – Mercury, Uranus. Monday begins the week with the Moon in Capricorn and the Moon square Mercury and the Moon trine Uranus today. With Mercury having entered Aries over the past weekend and ending its two and a half months transit of Pisces, we might start this week wanting to get on with what we want to do. Our thoughts might be initiatory with a desire to move ahead unencumbered, but our logistics can be blocked by the ‘stay at home’ edicts or by our own outstanding obligations. We could be battling against the tides as we begin this day with a liability of our personal arrogance and our desire for complete control over situations proving to be our self-undoing. If we get stuck into a belief of being the sole determiner of our course of action, we might experience a significant pushback. Even if we start the day banging our head against the wall, there can be a letup in our frustrations and our ineffectiveness as the day proceeds. By taking off our blinders, thinking outside the box and being amenable to doing things differently, we could move into the flow of the natural unfolding. Surprising developments could open up doors of which we were not aware, making things easier, and affirming the truth that things can work out if we are willing to work with the energies rather than trying to solely control them. It will be our choice as to how we wish to proceed, either being bullheaded with constant blowback or being receptive to doing things differently and in accord with the natural unfolding. We can make it easier on ourselves, but we have to have our antennae up and be willing to alter our patterns of behavior.
Tuesday, April 14th – Tap a Little Harder – Neptune, Pluto, Sun, Jupiter, Moon Void-of-Course. I often say that to learn a lesson the universe taps us lightly on the shoulder. If we don’t get the lesson, the universe taps a little harder. If we still don’t get the lesson, the universe is liable to give us a lateral lobotomy, a whack on the side of the head. This Tuesday might be one of those days when the universe taps us a little bit harder. Change is difficult. Few of us embrace major changes to our style of life, our ways of doing things. And yet, and especially now, we are being asked to go through major alterations and transformations to the way we do our living. This Tuesday continues with the Capricorn Moon with the Moon today sextile Neptune, the Moon conjunct both Pluto and Jupiter, and the Moon square the Sun. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for almost eight hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon completes its transit of Capricorn and before the Moon enters Aquarius early on Wednesday morning. The Sun squares Pluto. If we would listen to our inner guidance, assume a calm attitude, then we could easily plow through many of the outstanding matters that are hanging over us. We might prefer to do something other than the tasks at hand, and who could blame us? Many of are suffering from ‘cabin fever’, wanting to be out and about, and resentful of our present lockdown and the unresolved issues that are beckoning us. If we would just deal with what we need to do, we could save ourselves a great deal of frustration and anger. All of us want to get on with our lives, but this day offers us the time and inclination to clean things up and clear out matters that we do not want to pursue in the days ahead. Tax Day may have been postponed until the Summer, but why wait until then to do what is in our subconscious, or our conscious mind, prodding us to do for tomorrow? Let’s take care of the outstanding issues, so that we have clear space in the days ahead for new adventures.
Wednesday, April 15th – Where Be the Taxman – Saturn, Uranus, Mercury, Venus, Sun, Jupiter. The Moon moves into Aquarius early on Wednesday, and the Moon today conjuncts Saturn, the Moon squares Uranus, the Moon sextiles Mercury, and the Moon trines Venus. The Sun squares Jupiter. Usually in the US this day is Tax Day, the day the federal income tax returns are due. Not so this year. Due to the pandemonium associated with the pandemic, here in the US we all have been given an extension to file and pay to July. Instead of present reality [whatever that is or however we define it], we might prefer to cast our attention to our future prospects with a good round of conversations with various people about what we are going to do once we come out from under the lockdown. The beauty of projections is the fact that anything and everything seem possible. There are no limitations, no matter our resources or our capabilities. In the conceptual of our mind’s eye, we can be anything and everything, do anything and everything, and be successful in whatever we might eventually engage. Yes, this Wednesday is a good day to wander through la-la-land. And why not? We may have played enough video games, watched enough movies, discussed our dystopian or utopian viewpoints to utter tedium, and have nothing left but to engage flights of fancy. We are not listening to any wing clippers today, only interested in companions who can share in our Walter Mitty-like escapades.
Thursday, April 16th – Up, Up, and Away – Mars. The Moon continues its transit of Aquarius on this Thursday, and in the early morning hours the Moon conjuncts Mars. Our thrust of energy for this Thursday may occur in the early morning hours and carry through the rest of the day. Our tendency to be anywhere other than here, which could be more mentally than physically, a sensation that we might have engaged yesterday, continues on into this Thursday, and even Friday. We could feel in a state of delirium, as though we have stepped off the earth plane and entered a totally different dimension. And why would that seem surprising when our normal lives have been suspended, and in the process altered, transformed with the new sense of reality beyond our present ken? Welcome to the paradigm shift, the dramatic transformation from the so-called solid foundations of linear reality of beginning, middle and end, into asequential reality where it is difficult, if not impossible, to explain what’s up, what’s down, all in a kaleidoscopic mix of events happening in most random ways and often occurring with absolutely no rhyme or reason. This Thursday allows us to step into this new dimension with us feeling like a tag-along in The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.
Friday, April 17th – Enter Faith – Sun, Moon Void-of-Course. Friday begins with the Aquarius Moon sextile the Sun. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for almost four hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon completes its transit of Aquarius and before the Moon enters Pisces where the Pisces Moon makes no connections to the planets today. Someone could prove uplifting, even inspirational, for us today. It’s as though something we hear or discuss can remove the blinders from our eyes and make us understand that in truth all things work out the way they are supposed to — whether we like it or not. As the day continues, our feeling nature can be heightened, our sensitivity increased, and our faith bolstered. We may not be fully aware of where we are headed, but we can draw upon the belief that ‘god and the higher forces have far greater plans for us than we could have ever imagined for ourselves’. These times provide a ‘time out’ during which we can gauge how we have been doing life and whether in truth we might find a better way, a more fulfilling and healthy manner of living life. While none of us like the restrictions and deaths associated with covid-19, nature seems to have gotten a reprieve from humankind’s impacts. There is less pollution, the air is clearer, the waters cleaner, and there seems to be a natural renewal occurring at the same time that human society is going through the pangs of health and economic distress. Perhaps today would allow us to consider the opportunities, even blessings, disguised behind the pandemic crisis.
Saturday, April 18th – Infusion of Creative Affirmation – Uranus, Venus, Mercury, Mars. Saturday continues with the Moon in Pisces with the Moon today sextile Uranus and the Moon square Venus. Mercury sextiles Venus to begin the day, and Mercury sextiles Mars at the end of the day. It is often in the quiet, those moments when we step away from the frenzy of our daily living, that we get those ‘ah-ha’ moments, those incidents of revelation and understanding that had escaped us previously. With our habitual patterns no longer relevant, we can broaden our mind to possibilities never considered, much like removing the blinders from a horse in order for the horse to see all around and no longer from the narrow perspective of looking solely straight ahead. And so it may be for us on this Saturday. By hearing something or becoming aware of something, we can infuse ourselves with a creative affirmation of our abilities and our talents. No longer do we have to feel merely reactive to life’s curveballs, prey to the vagaries of these disruptive times, and victim to conditions or circumstance. On the contrary, we could determine how best to play the hand we’re dealt, how we might move ahead with our goals and our ambitions no matter the landscape in which we find ourselves. Even if we encounter naysayers to our plans or hear from the Eeyores who see life from only a dystopian perspective, we are likely to pay them little heed. We have a stronger belief in ourselves, a faith in our life’s journey, encouragement from someone or from what we hear, and we know that we can do this, no matter what we encounter along the way.
Sunday, April 19th – Seed Planting Time – Neptune, Pluto, Jupiter, Moon Void-of-Course, Sun Taurus. Sunday continues with the Moon in Pisces with the Moon today conjunct Neptune, and the Moon sextile both Pluto and Jupiter both in Capricorn. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for seven and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon completes its transit of Pisces and before the Moon enters Aries early on Monday morning. The Sun exits Aries to enter Taurus. This Sunday may be a day when we put spirit into action. As though driven by instinct, we could have a sense of our priorities and how best to accomplish the specifics associated with our significant projects. This day can feel like we’re tilling the soil in preparation of planting our seeds. From some of the new ideas and thoughts of the past month, we are ready to start to initiate new projects. Even if our movements are still limited by government edict, we can begin to develop our garden whether we do so initially mentally, or we begin to do so physically. We are looking to be practical, effective, working with less stress and strain and being productive. We are more willing to take things step-by-step, and such an attitude could well be one of the benefits of this lockdown period — the enforced need of slowing things down, dispensing with needless distractions, and becoming more zen-like focused on the truly significant aspects of our lives. The birth in nature occurring now might also give us greater incentive for our own rebirth, renewal, renaissance.
