The astrology for this week of March 23rd through the 29th of 2020 brings us more fully into the Spring season and its promise of renewal and rebirth with the Aries New Moon on Tuesday.
We start the week on the dark side of the Moon prior to Tuesday’s New Moon. We may begin the week with the wind to our back as we look to close out certain outstanding matters.
The world may seem to have ground to a standstill due to the reactions to COVID-19, but there is no reason for us not to use this time to play catch up with issues that we have put on the back burner unable to attend to. The ‘pause’ button might have been hit, but eventually the ‘reset’ button will be engaged. Let’s use the beginning of this week to deal with the specifics and particulars that we would prefer to complete before we truly jump into the Spring season.
Tuesday gives us the Aries New Moon, the imprint for the next two weeks, and the real beginning of the Spring season. With all of us hunkering down, we can use much of this week and next week to consider what new trajectories we may wish to explore and start to initiate new projects.
We can be hunkering down as a result of governmental edicts, but there is no reason for us to put our lives on hold. On the contrary, we could use this time as an incubation, a period when we reflect and give thought to how we could make our lives more reflective of who we are now as opposed to our old habitual patterns that were more attuned to whom we have been.
This mid-week period may have us somewhat conspiratorial and rebellious. Not that we are going to storm the castle. We might instead take off our blinders, affirm our individual existence, and give thought to the many options of involvements that truly speak to us.
As though we have been thrown back upon our own resources, we might realize that if we are going to make it during these times of intense disruptions, we are going to have to do it for ourselves, both by focusing on how each of us can personally take care of ourselves individually and by concentrating on how we can assist our loved ones and our friends to not merely make it through the night and survive but rather to use these challenging times as a catalyst by which we can actually thrive.
It’s an old saying but a true one — “ABC – adversity builds character.”
Our focus on our personal well-being could prove an impetus for us to put our spirit into action. Like a pebble in a pond, our taking good care of ourselves can have ripple effects, whereby other people refute the victim mode and start to take care of themselves too. If we all do this, the effects can be tsunami-like and from the dire challenges of these times we might create a more uplifting, fulfilling lifestyle and society of the future.
The latter part of the week and the weekend allows us to seed our consciousness and seed our actions with actual involvements in new directions. We can draw upon the technology and our own innovations not only to implement new procedures but to reach out to other people, even under the restrictions of social distancing, to affirm that we are not only all in this together but that we can meet the present challenges and come out from them healthier and stronger than before — both as individuals and as a society.
Monday, March 23rd – Fully Engaged – Jupiter, Pluto, Mars, Moon Void-of-Course, Saturn. Monday begins the week with the Moon completing its transit of Pisces with the Pisces Moon sextile the Capricorn-transiting planets of Jupiter, Pluto and Mars. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for ten hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon completes its transit of Pisces and before the Moon enters Aries where late in the day the Moon sextiles Saturn. Mars conjuncts Pluto. This can be one high energy day. If we channel our intensity, then we could virtually move mountains. Being on the dark side of the Moon prior to tomorrow’s New Moon, this day would largely benefit with the idea of completion and conclusions, tying up loose ends that we do not want to bring in the next expansionary cycle. Not only do we have the New Moon tomorrow, but tomorrow’s New Moon is in Aries and gives greater indication of the beginning of the new astrological year, which began with last week’s Vernal Equinox when the Sun came into Aries but is now more fully triggered by the Aries New Moon. This day allows us to accomplish a great deal but without belligerence or getting in our own way. We are likely to have a sense as to what we need to complete and be rid of. Let’s trust our instincts, take things step by step and avoid being the proverbial ‘bull in a china shop’. Much of today’s energy occurs in the morning hours, but by building up a head of steam we can coast through much of this day with our completions, conclusions and resolutions. Late in the day, we may be champing at the bit to engage our new projects, our intended springtime activities. We won’t have to wait too long, for tomorrow provides the opening bell with the New Moon.
Tuesday, March 24th – The I with Style – Aries New Moon, Sun. Tuesday has the Aries New Moon as the Moon conjuncts the Sun and truly triggers the Spring season. The imprint of this New Moon influences the next two weeks up to the Full Moon on the 7th – 8th of April. At the same time, this New Moon may give evidence of our willingness to take a proactive stance and be less reactive to what ‘appears’ to be going on, a reactive stance we may have engaged for much of this year so far. Although the Aries energy and the ‘Spring fever’ syndrome can often be like the primal scream of “Here I am”, this Aries New Moon is flavored by the influence of Venus going through its own Sign of Taurus with Venus trine both Jupiter and Pluto over the early part of the coming weekend concurrent with the Moon then transiting Taurus. In the emphasis upon our personal ‘I’, we might be more tempered with a display of class and finesse. Our ability to adapt to the changing tides with style and grace may be evident, but first we have to get through tomorrow before things level out or we level ourselves out. This New Moon also makes connection with Uranus in a minor harmonious aspect. We are on the threshold of the paradigm shift with all its disruptions, as we move from one mode of operating into a totally different set of circumstance. Things can change quickly and unexpectedly, and even if we drag our heels at being unsettled, the movement is in the right direction and will prove to be for our lasting benefit. There’s a new day dawning, and it may be brighter and more scintillating than what we have been accustomed to.
Wednesday, March 25th – Banging Up Against – Jupiter, Pluto. Wednesday has the Aries Moon square both Jupiter and Pluto both in Capricorn. With yesterday’s Aries New Moon we might have gotten a second wind, energized and wanting to go forward according to our own personal whims and in our own individual direction. Unfortunately, our personal interests may not mesh with the limitations and restrictions presently placed upon us by governmental authorities. The sense of cabin fever instilled both by the winter season and now by government lockdown can have us wanting ever more to spread our wings, exhibit our independence and be a little rebellious. Our insistence to spread our wings today could bang up against the curfews and limitations placed upon us as a result of the covid-19 pandemic. This is a time when we may have to ‘grin and bear it’, even if such a disposition runs counter to everything we want and believe. Instead of grousing about the situation, let’s channel our energy productively in taking care of business, dealing with outstanding matters and trying to see the sunny side of our present circumstance. Being angry about our present circumstance is only a waste of energy and has no real effective returns. Let’s keep in mind that people at different times and in different parts of the world have had it far worse. We are blessed, so we could also use some of today to count our blessings rather than rail against our restrictions.
Thursday, March 26th – Let the Universe Do It’s Thing – Mars, Moon Void-of-Course, Saturn, Uranus. We start Thursday with the Moon completing its transit of Aries with the Moon square Mars in Capricorn. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for seven hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Aries and before the Moon enters Taurus where today the Taurus Moon squares Saturn and the Moon conjuncts Uranus. Whatever we might have been bucking against yesterday can continue in the early morning hours of this Thursday. We could exhaust ourselves even before we start the day by the push-pull between what we want and what we know we need to do. We may feel as though our wings are being clipped, that we are being warehoused and to some degree prisoners in our own homes. As the day proceeds, we might be less agitated, more willing to engage patience and take things step by step. Even if we have certain new trajectories to develop, we might feel blocked by our lack of resources. What we need to be cognizant of is that during this paradigm shift the ‘tried and true’ may have been tried but is no longer true. Not only is it necessary for us to think outside the box, but it is also essential that we recognize that in this paradigm shift things may occur in a most unexpected manner. And so it could prove for us today. After banging our head against the wall, or at the least trying to move unsuccessfully ahead with familiar methods that may no longer work for us, we could be privy to unexpected situations that ease our way, grease our wheels. From the frustrations early in the day we might find ourselves delighted by things developing in an almost magical manner as we end the day. And the lesson to be learned? That we have entered a new paradigm whereby things can occur with little effort on our part if we are willing to let go of control, be receptive to the unanticipated and the alternative, and realize that things can be far easier than difficult the more we align ourselves to the energies unfolding. For many of us, this is a time of reset.
Friday, March 27th – Easing the Way, Planning our Actions – Mercury. Thursday evening could have given us a heads-up regarding better ways. And we can employ them on this Friday as the Taurus Moon sextiles Mercury. We may draw upon our thinking processes to get things going, but this day would best be served by reflection and contemplation, more so than putting our plans into implementation. Considering our circumstance and the resources available to us, we might consider our options to devise our best approach. Discussions with other people can provide a sense of security, a new template of stability, during these most tumultuous times. Our imagination may be heightened today, but we still need to focus. Like adjusting a telescope, this is a day to fine tune our attitude and our perspective. This is not a time to fall back into victimhood, but rather a time to recognize that any problem, any challenging situation, also has within it the components of a solution. We need not wrack our brain for the answers, but we do need to quiet our mind, be calm, and to be open to alternative ways that can successfully resolve the issue. Let’s keep in mind the sage affirmation that ‘we never get more than we can handle.’
Saturday, March 28th – Spirit in Action – Neptune, Jupiter, Venus, Pluto, Mars, Saturn. Saturday could be one primo day, a day when we can accomplish a lot. The Moon sextiles Neptune, the Moon conjuncts Venus, and the Moon trines the three Capricorn-transiting planets of Jupiter, Pluto and Mars. Venus trines both Jupiter and Pluto. Late in the day, the Moon exits Taurus to enter Gemini, and the Gemini Moon trines Saturn. Drawing upon yesterday’s reflections and strategic planning, we might today rely upon our intuitive nature, that sense of ‘knowing without knowing’. Saturday is a day when we might feel divinely guided, have the sense that our guardian angels are close at hand, and that we are getting right information as to how best to proceed. Our blinders could be removed in order for us to be aware of potent options. We may feel as if we can proceed with our intentions and our plans today and without much effort on our part. Not only could we have a calmer attitude about our new ‘normal’. We might also recognize that things are falling neatly into place at the same time that we are gaining a greater composure and greater compassion. It’s fascinating to note that whenever humankind goes through crisis that’s also the time when much of humankind step up. The true goodness in people, the expression from spirit and soul level, often is exhibited as people help people, all with the understanding that we are all in this situation together and with the belief that together and with help from the universal forces we can successfully overcome any challenge. This Saturday is a day when we might have various examples of people exhibiting spirit in action.
Sunday, March 29th – From the Sublime to the Ridiculous – Sun, Mercury. The Gemini Moon on this Sunday sextiles the Sun, and the Moon squares Mercury. Although the past two days might have been highly effective, days when we could have gotten our act together to deal productively with what is going on in the world and its direct impact on our lives; this Sunday may have us reinforce our abilities to cope before we fall prey to the Eeyores and naysayers who choose to see our present predicament as but a never-ending slide into chaos and calamity. While the past two days could have bolstered our confidence in our abilities to deal with our present circumstance and heightened our faith in an eventual positive conclusion to present conditions, those people focused on the negative, the hand-wringers and critics who see nothing as done well, can put a real damper on our spirits. We have to be wary not to fall into the pit of despair based upon ‘information’ presented to us by the hand-wringers. Our imagination could be stoked with thoughts and images of the very worst case scenario. Misery may love company, but I always suggest not to make it your company. The late hours of this day demand that we discipline our mind and not give into the negativity of impotence being projected. Attitude is a major determiner of our state of mind and our well-being, and our attitude is a choice, always our choice.
