The astrology for this week of February 3rd through the 9th of 2020 offers us some interesting connections and startling news before we come to a weekend of fun activities.
There are two Sign changes this week, both of which have the two planets moving into Signs of their Detriment, where each is uncomfortable. Mercury exits Aquarius to enter Pisces on Monday, and Venus exits Pisces to enter Aries on Friday. Our thinking may become more diffuse, and our decisions based more on emotion than reason. Relationships could become testy as we question ‘what have you done for me lately?’ The week reaches a crescendo with the Leo Full Moon late on Saturday, early Sunday.
The week may begin with push-pulls between what we need to do and what we would prefer to do. In the US, Monday is ‘Super Bowl Monday’ with an estimated 17.5 million employees expected to miss work due to ‘hangover’ from Sunday’s Super Bowl festivities. Various parts of the world celebrate other sporting events. The 2014 FIFA World Cup is estimated to have lost 131 million working days as employees skipped their work the next day.
This Aquarian ‘New Age’ highlights creativity and entertainment with many of us geared to be observers to sporting events, theatrical productions, movie presentations and a wide-range of television and streaming programs.
Despite whatever may be holding us back as we start the week, this week begins with a frenzy of activity. Our adrenaline might be rushing and our intentions to cover many bases, but our clarity of thought could be missing with the consequent action of our racing around mindlessly.
While we might be whirling around, there can be someone who grounds us and gets us back on track. Our focus may be lacking and the broad range of possibilities enticing early in the week. To some degree our lack of concentration could prove a positive benefit. I always say that ‘confusion is the starting point of wisdom’, for confusion dispels our reliance on the ‘tried and true’ and opens wide the consideration of a multitude of variables.
Mid-week, surprising news and startling insights could make us aware of new trajectories or streamlined ways of doing things. We just need to be open in order to receive. Serendipity can be in play, and we might find ourselves being in the right place at the right time.
The end of the week and the weekend seems highlighted for good times with good friends.
A week when we might have a lot going on, this week is also a week when we might get further indications of the paradigm shift with an appreciation of the mystery and the magic of these times.
Monday, February 3rd – Impelled or Impaled – Mercury, Venus, Saturn, Mercury Pisces. Monday begins the week with the Taurus Moon square Mercury just before the Moon exits Taurus to enter Gemini, and just before Mercury exits Aquarius to enter Pisces. Venus sextiles Saturn. We may have the sense that there are various commitments we need to attend to today. A sense of overwhelm regarding all that we discern on our plate, or a feeling of being hungover from the Super Bowl celebrations, or the desire to run our commentary on ‘the game’, could keep us from doing what needs to be done. Procrastination is a means by which we can avoid our responsibilities and obligations, and this Monday could have us in procrastination mode. Not that it’s a comfortable space for us to stay in, and we might find ourselves going from sluggish stance to hyper-activity. While we might not be able to ground ourselves and avoid whipping around trying this and doing that without accomplishing much in the meantime, someone could prove to be our grounding rod and assist us in regaining our focus and getting us back on track.
Tuesday, February 4th – Adjusting our Sights – Sun, Neptune. The Moon continues its transit of Gemini with the Moon today trine the Sun, and the Moon square Neptune. Conversations today could broaden a wide realm of possibilities, pursuits we might consider to engage. We are looking for activities that truly speak to us, activities that allow us a greater sense of independence and freedom of movement. We might hear of intriguing situations of which we had no awareness. This Tuesday and Wednesday are days to have our antennae up, work with peripheral vision, and be open to receive. These two days allow for startling insights and surprising information. We do have to be careful not to get so engrossed in so many possibilities that we assume we can do them all. Tuesday and Wednesday also has the Gemini Moon triggering a Mutable Sign T-Square with the Moon square Neptune today, and the Moon opposed Mars tomorrow. Without due diligence and adjusting our sights, we could try to take on too many involvements, some of which might prove distractions that only lead down a blind alley. We need to maintain a focus today without closing ourselves off to things that might just come out of the blue. Leaving space for the unanticipated would allow us to have the time and space to test the unexpected waters.
Wednesday, February 5th – Weaning and Awakening – Lunar T-Square, Mars, Venus, Moon Void-of-Course, Uranus, Mercury. Tuesday and Wednesday of this week can be two high-energy, hyperactive days. We have the physical energy and the intense curiosity to explore and participate in any number of activities. Much of our engagement might be more sampling than commitment, and that behavior may be the most appropriate, since much of the energy of these two days relates to serendipitous encounters rather than scheduled events. Wednesday has the Moon completing its transit of Gemini with the Gemini Moon triggering the Mutable Sign T-Square as the Moon opposes Mars, and the Moon squares Venus. The Moon then moves into Cancer where today the Moon sextiles Uranus, and the Moon trines Mercury. Mercury sextile Uranus. The day begins with much of the run around that we might have been doing yesterday. We could have the sense that ‘the world is our oyster’, but we have to watch for an element of gluttony. We could try to take on too much, juggle too much, and just have a bad case of the ‘too muches’. Although we may be geared up from yesterday to do anything and everything, this liability of overwhelm without due diligence can eventually taper off as the day progresses. As the day proceeds, we might get a better grip on ourselves, slow things down, be less reactive and less hyper-active than we had been earlier in the day and yesterday. The interesting thing is that as we slow things down and take a quieter stance, the door opens to stepping into a different dimension, a time-space of serendipitous incidents where things can occur in a most inexplicable manner. We could be privy to the magic of this paradigm shift — hear about extraordinary possibilities, witness miraculous encounters, and be open to wondrous surprises. Tuesday and Wednesday are days for us to be totally open and receptive to things occurring in a most asequential manner — exciting, random happenings. Indications of the hard-to-explain give greater evidence of the paradigm shift in which we find ourselves.
Thursday, February 6th – Sanctity of Safe Space – Jupiter, Neptune. Thursday continues with the Cancer Moon with the Moon today opposed Jupiter, and the Moon trine Neptune. We could have witnessed some quirky and interesting incidents yesterday and / or the day before. If we did, then we might feel quizzical about how such events could possibly occur. We may also realize that there are times when we need to get out of our own way, discount our accepted beliefs about reality, and instead be open to the hard-to-explain. Increasingly, each of us is having the opportunity of experiencing or witnessing strange occurrences. Can we call them magic or mini-miracles? They are only magic and miracles if we have our blinders on, accept our conditioned beliefs of reality, and assume that everything unfolds in a sequential manner. But that’s not where we are any longer. With proliferating indications, we are seeing how things can unfold in a strange even seemingly ‘abnormal’ manner — e.g. finding a parking space right out in front of the store that you intended to shop in, thinking about someone with whom you had not been in contact for a while and then hearing from them, and other strange occurrences. In order to appreciate the ‘strangeness’ of these times, it is often necessary for us to step off the track, slow things down, and reflect in the quiet of our own space. This Thursday could be one of those days when we take our time, tune out the bombardment of stimuli, and contemplate any fascinating and startling incidents in the sanctity of our safe space.
Friday, February 7th – Living for the Weekend – Pluto, Saturn, Moon Void-of-Course, Venus, Uranus, Venus Aries. It seems as though recent Fridays have focused on tying up loose ends, completing certain tasks and concluding routine matters before we come into the weekend. And so it appears with this Friday. The Cancer Moon completes its transit of Cancer and does so with the Moon opposing both Pluto and Saturn. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for seven hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon completes its transit of Cancer and before the Moon enters Leo to kick off a fun-engaged weekend. Venus exits Pisces to enter Aries, a Sign of Detriment for Venus, where Venus in relationships is less collaborative and tends to be more self-absorbed. The Moon in Leo today trines Venus and the Moon squares Uranus. While we could be racing to attend to mundane matters, we are liable to gloss over the details just to get things finished. The evening hours may have us more interested in what we want to do with little input from anyone else. We have to be wary that what we want doesn’t put a dent in our finances, since our appetites and desires can be extreme with satiation unlikely.
Saturday, February 8th – My Way or the Highway – Saturday has the Moon in Leo with the Moon making no connections to the planets. We are moving towards the Leo Full Moon early on Sunday morning, late this Saturday evening. We might feel in a highly expansionary mood today with a desire to spread our wings, broaden our reach, and either take off out of Dodge or expand wide our activity participations. Where a problem arises is that we might assume we have more resources — time, finances, energy — than we actually have. With a liability of being too self-focused and assuming an air of invincibility, this Saturday might have us overdoing it, no matter what that ‘it’ might be. This is a day when we have to avoid putting our health at risk by assuming that we’re a lot younger and stronger than we actually are. In grandiose style, we may spend more money than our financial reality would warrant. Relationships could be strained as people seek to be the center of attention with scarce consideration of anyone else’s interest. This Saturday is a day when our tendency may be to overdo with consequent ill effects that might eventually need us to remedy particular situations. Let’s try to put the brakes on our overreach or else possibly suffer the ill effects.
Sunday, February 9th – Over the Top – Leo Full Moon, Sun, Mars, Moon Void-of-Course, Uranus. Sunday begins with the effects of the Leo Full Moon as the Leo Moon opposes the Sun to begin this Sunday, end Saturday evening, dependent upon where we are. The Moon then trines Mars before the Moon goes Void-of-Course for seven and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon completes its transit of Leo and before the Moon enters Virgo late in the day. The Virgo Moon trines Uranus to end this Sunday. We may feel at the top of our game on this Sunday and willing to shout it out to all concerned. Our enthusiasm, and self-absorption, may know no bounds. We might feel highly regal with the expectation of everyone acknowledging our majesty. Such an attitude could stress our relationships. People might just be too much for other people. If someone is unwilling to appreciate our grandeur, we may just take it on the road, get out of Dodge, and share our ‘wonderfulness’ in unfamiliar terrain. As the day progresses, the helium can be let out of our balloon, and our ego focus deflate. The latter part of the day could find us more grounded, less self-absorbed and preparing for the week ahead. Hopefully, we used this weekend to recharge our batteries and reinvigorate ourselves without stepping on too many toes or overdoing our expenditures. Freshened by the ‘fun’ we’ve had, we can consider options and alternatives and streamlined methods by which to accomplish what we need to get done in the coming week.
