The astrology for this week of February 17th through the 23rd of 2020 heightens our emotions and plays with our imagination. Whether our anxiety and fearfulness are increased or we blend our sensitivity with practical application will be our choice, always our choice.
This week is the first full week of the three-week Mercury retrograde cycle, and this one for much of its retrograde going through Pisces, a Sign in which Mercury is uncomfortable, in Detriment, and where our thinking becomes diffuse and tarnished by uncontrollable reactions based upon feelings rather than reasoning.
The question for each of us, and every one of us, is how we decide to deal with so-called ‘present reality’. Either we can be victim and fall prey to circumstance and projected fears, or we could be proactive using the combination of intuitive foresight with determined perseverance to advance our interests.
The week begins with situations foreign to us impinging upon our personal world. They might influence us indirectly but do they truly impact us directly?
We may not choose to answer the question or might not be able to answer the question as our mind is awash with possible illusions, delusions and hallucinations. This is a time when what we see might not be the true reality of the situation. It is also time for us to take everything we see or hear with not a grain but rather a large block of salt.
The mid-week period allows us to accomplish a lot if we avoid distractions and tamp down concerns that are largely irrelevant to our personal world. We can be highly accomplished as we draw upon innovative solutions, utilize advanced technology, and consider the options and alternatives that would streamline our operations and make us more productive and expeditious.
The weekend would be a good time for us to participate in a scavenger hunt, open to all possibilities, even the seemingly impossible. We never know from where the next clue to advance our personal interests might come. The weekend may provide some surprising information from the least expected source. We do need to have our antennae up and be open to receive.
The weekend comes to closure with the Pisces New Moon and the accentuating of both the Pisces Stellium and the Capricorn Stellium. No matter the appearance of what seems to be going on, we are entering a phase that affirms the proverb of ‘where there’s a will there’s a way’.
Monday, February 17th – Blurred Vision – Neptune. Monday is the first full day of the three-week Mercury retrograde cycle, and this one could prove a doozy. For those intrigued by horror movies and scary programming, this Mercury retrograde is likely to ramp up their anxieties and fears, even to the extent of role-playing Chicken Little with the attitude of ‘the sky is falling’. For other people, this Mercury retrograde can only be challenging with miscommunications, misdirections, misunderstandings, and other forms of mis’s liable to gum up the works. Whenever Mercury turns direction, whether from direct to retrograde or retrograde to direct motion, things get especially squirrely. It’s all a question of finding our rhythm and pace during the most discordant passage of the cycle. Consequently, this Monday can be vexing, a situation amplified by the fact that the Moon in Sagittarius squares Neptune in Pisces today. Our clarity of thought can be severely lacking as our perspective may be skewed by our emotions and anxieties. This is a day that calls for braking action, taking the time to re-evaluate what we are doing and why we’re doing it. We could easily be run by our feelings today, and our feelings might verge more on paranoia than the true reality of the situation. Today asks us — no, really demands — that we grab hold of our emotions and not fall prey to society’s present go-to of victimhood.
Tuesday, February 18th – I’ve Got This – Sun, Mars, Uranus, Sun Pisces. Tuesday begins with the Sagittarius Moon sextile the Sun. The Moon then moves into Capricorn where the Moon today conjuncts Mars and the Moon trines Uranus. Late in the day, early Wednesday, the Sun exits Aquarius and enters Pisces. A main characteristic of astrology is timing, the ability to gauge the astrological weather to be cognizant of the atmosphere in which we are operating. Yesterday could have had various people quivering in fear or anxiety. No matter what people might have focused on, there is any number of horsemen of the apocalypse upon which to rationalize our heightened concerns. For some people, the desperation would be tied to the projected pandemic of the corona virus with several thousand deaths while the flu season in the US is estimated to have already killed 14,000 people with little notice much less a hue and cry. For others, the terror is tied to global economic slowdown leading to recession [promised by some economists for 2018 and 2019 and now 2020] and an eventual worldwide economic depression. And for still others, the horror may be the liability of nuclear warfare or, failing that, the end of life on earth as a result of human-induced climate change. Despite the projections of doom and gloom by the chorus of Eeyores, there are times when ‘the sun’ll come out’ and the shining could start on this Tuesday. We may start this Tuesday with a thrust of energy and a willingness to walk on the sunny side of the street. With an upbeat attitude and the encouragement of someone, we could sally forth with confidence, perseverance and itinerary in hand. Tuesday through this coming weekend might be highly productive, and we may be able to accomplish a lot. Not only can our determination be indefatigable, we could draw upon streamlined methods and innovative ideas to advance our ambitions. The theatrics in the world-at-large might have little impact on us, especially if we would concentrate on our own activities, maintain awareness of the vagaries of the Mercury retrograde, and not be drawn into the lunacies of the crazies acting out.
Wednesday, February 19th – Focused Intent – Mercury, Venus, Jupiter, Neptune. Wednesday continues with the Capricorn Moon with the Moon today sextile both Mercury and Neptune both in Pisces, the Moon conjunct Jupiter, and the Moon square Venus. With an upbeat attitude and a sense of knowing what goes where, we can accomplish a great deal. Although we might prefer some ‘play’ time today, it would be wise for us to concentrate on matters at hand. Some of our involvements may relate more to our mundane affairs than our creative ideas. While our regular routine can be tedious, this is one of those days when we could plow through any number of pressing demands and do so in an optimistic and confident manner. Tuesday, Wednesday and some of Thursday are days to get things accomplished. We might not have a lot of fun today but may have to put our pet projects aside in order to effectively deal with the fundamentals of our lives. This Wednesday is a good day for us to straighten around the home and provide a pleasing atmosphere in which for us to operate. To prevent feeling squelched by our responsibilities we could give some time to making plans for the coming weekend to have some fun and enjoy the company of others. Right now, it would be better to be in harness and utilize the energies to take care of what needs to get done.
Thursday, February 20th – Before Stepping Out of Line – Pluto, Saturn, Moon Void-of-Course, Uranus, Jupiter, Neptune. Thursday has the Moon completing its transit of Capricorn with the Moon today conjunct both Pluto and Saturn. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for almost four hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Capricorn and before the Moon enters Aquarius where today the Moon squares Uranus. Jupiter sextiles Neptune. We might be champing at the bit to be done with our usual obligations. The past two days could have had us with nose-to-grindstone and accomplishing a great deal. We might have felt as though we were running a marathon and by today we might feel fatigued and ready to get off the track. Before we end our productive run, the morning hours of this Thursday may be the time for us to do the sprint. We can tie up various loose ends, bring certain matters to conclusion and check to be certain that nothing has been skipped over or missed. It’s important that we be ever vigilant to the fact of the Mercury retrograde where Murphy’s Law of ‘whatever can go wrong could go wrong’ is in effect. This is a day for us to trust our instincts, for we may be able to sense whether everything is in place or some specific unattended. As the day progresses, we might decide to treat ourselves. We can be proud of what we might have accomplished the past few days with a reward in order for jobs well done. Let’s just avoid splurging whereby we spend too much on a lark without the compensatory satisfaction.
Friday, February 21st – Highly Accomplished by Day, Fun Enjoyment at Night – Venus, Moon Void-of-Course, Mars, Uranus. The Aquarius Moon sextiles Venus late in the day. Mars trines Uranus. Friday is a day for us to think outside the box, use alternative means and streamlined methods to accomplish a great deal in a fairly short period of time. Being Friday, we might want to close out the week with a major push of clearing our ‘to do’ list in order to have the weekend to do whatever we might choose. The Moon continues its transit of Aquarius with the Moon sextile Venus at the end the day. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for twenty-six and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon completes its transit of Aquarius and before the Moon enters Pisces early on Sunday morning. Mars trines Uranus. Innovative persistence can have us getting more done in a far shorter time than we might realize. We may decide on purchases that would streamline our operations — investments in equipment and technology that are time saving yet highly productive and effective tools for us to utilize. We do need to keep in mind the Mercury retrograde. If we do go ahead and make significant purchases today, let’s be certain of the warranty protections just in case something goes awry with our purchases. We may be working at a fast pace and working for the weekend, which we intend to be a time of engaging whatever captures our fancy. Pleasant get-togethers in the evening can be fun with mutual admiration.
Saturday, February 22nd – Whatever Captures our Fancy – Moon Void-of-Course, Sun, Uranus. Saturday continues with the Aquarius Moon Void-of-Course with the Moon making no connections to the planets today. The Moon continues being Void-of-Course until the early morning of Sunday when the Moon moves into Pisces. The Moon is also on the dark side of the Moon prior to tomorrow’s Pisces New Moon. The Sun today sextiles Uranus. Hopefully we dealt with pressing needs over the past few days and can use this Saturday to be in the moment and do whatever captures our fancy. This Saturday is a good for exploration, for spreading our wings and engaging spontaneity. We aren’t interested in plans already made or commitments made for this Saturday. We would rather take this day as it comes and be able to do things on the spur-of-the-moment. With the recognition that initiations are best begun with a waxing Moon, this day is better served as a day without any significant connections. Let’s play everything today by ear, allow the day to unfold as it may and just enjoy the freedom of no obligations, no commitments, no plans. A blank slate allows us to draw whatever we wish upon it. We might experience the truth to the idea that the universe has far better plans for us than we could ever imagine for ourselves.
Sunday, February 23rd – The Force With Us – Uranus, Pisces New Moon, Sun, Mars, Mercury, Venus, Jupiter. Early Sunday, the Moon moves into Pisces where today the Moon sextiles Uranus shortly before the Pisces New Moon when the Moon conjuncts the Sun. The Moon sextiles Mars, and the Moon conjuncts Mercury. The two ‘good guys’ of the planetary realm, Venus and Jupiter, are in square aspect to each other. Sunday impacts the next two weeks up to the Full Moon on the 9th of March, the day that Mercury ends its three-week retrograde cycle and turns direct. By Sign, the four planets in Pisces sextile the four planets in Capricorn. Add to this power pack, the harmonious influence of Uranus, and we have a forceful energy where we can blend our foresight and vision with determination and practical application and a dose of innovation and streamlined methodology to virtually move mountains and do so in the most expeditious and effective manner rather than the grunt and groan of brawn and brute strength. This is a day, and a two-week period, when we might draw upon the concept that ‘the force’ is with us. We just have to have a ‘can do’ attitude, not get in our own way, and a willingness to be open to the serendipity of alternatives of which we may not be aware. While many people have fallen into playing the life game as passive observers and engaged a victim mentality whereby life is happening to them, these are dynamic, disruptive and exciting times where things can change unexpectedly, dramatically and suddenly in less of a nanosecond of time. The opportunities for transformation are large, but to embrace the opportunities we need to be flexible and adaptable to changing circumstance. The one fly in the ointment today would be a liability to ‘too much’, as the Venus Jupiter square aspect encourages us to take on and engage more, more, more. Let’s enjoy the magic of these times without being excessive or greedy.
