The astrology for this week of December 30th, 2019, through January 5th, 2020, can have us enthusiastic about the prospects for this new year thanks to some surprising news that encourages us to go for our goals.
We begin the week contemplating the endings and the beginnings that this week connotes. An ability to think outside the box combined with an appreciation of the random happenings increasingly evident during these times may reinforce the belief that all things, even the seemingly implausible, are in deed possible.
Although this week symbolically speaks to ‘out with the old, in with the new’, we might be far more judicious and discerning in what we wish to rid ourselves of and what we choose to enlist.
We could be exuberant while still being pragmatic. This is a time when we can have our head in the clouds and still have our feet firmly planted on the ground.
While the sense of closing out 2019 may be foremost in our mind at the beginning of the week, the mid-week period through the weekend might focus more on the new trajectories we could engage. We are entering a new year, a new decade, and numerologically a year that can be a year of the Master Builder when we can put down firm foundations for our projects, activities and involvements that we wish to pursue.
The question for each of us as we enter this new year and this new decade is whether we have the fortitude to reach for our dreams or if we are willing to merely settle for the so-called ‘easy’ way and maintain the complacency of discontent.
Certainly a sense of expansion and broadening our interests can be strong during this week. We might feel bound by regulations, restrictions and old patterns, but much of the ties that bind could prove only an illusion, a delusion of disempowerment that might not be able to stand against the asequential realities of these times where things can occur in a most unexpected, even inexplicable, manner.
We are living during disruptive times, times when things can change suddenly and dramatically and often without even a heads-up or moment’s notice.
From closures to begin this week, we end the week with initiations and launching forward into a world where magic and mini-miracles may be ever more apparent.
Monday, December 30th – Wondrous Surprises – Mars, Moon Void-of-Course, Mercury, Uranus, Jupiter. Monday begins the week with the Moon completing its transit of Aquarius and with the Moon square Mars. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for over five hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Aquarius and before the Moon enters Pisces where today the Moon sextiles both Mercury and Jupiter both in Capricorn and the Moon sextiles Uranus in Taurus. Mercury trines Uranus. One of the key elements to astrology, and to living life itself, is the issue of timing. There are times when we try to push forward and everything seems to stand in our way and block our movement. And there are other times when things seem to operate so easily, so smoothly, with little resistance to our action. Timing, it’s all about ‘right’ timing. We can have a sense of this issue of timing on this Monday. We could start the day trying to force our will upon situations, trying to initiate future projects and to have other people conform to our schedule. We might want what we want only to suffer pushbacks and needless expenditures in energy, costs and with little to show for it. As the day progresses, things seem to move far easier and more smoothly. It may be a case that we get out of our own way and allow things to unfold. While we might want to get on with the new projects we have in mind, this is a time best served in tying up loose ends, clearing up outstanding matters and cleaning the decks in order to have a fresh palette from which to draw upon. The latter part of the day could present us with some fascinating surprise[s], hearing about possibilities we might not even have considered. This day allows us to see indications of the new paradigm where we are no longer in total control of events [as if we ever were], but rather have us see ourselves as co-creators with the universal unfolding with its random and unanticipated variables that can prove far more exciting than what we had envisioned for ourselves.
Tuesday, December 31st – Out with the Old with Hope and Trepidation – Sun, Neptune. Tuesday is the last day of 2019, New Year’s Eve, with us standing on the threshold of a new year, and a new decade. The Moon continues its transit of Pisces with the Moon sextile the Sun and the Moon conjunct Neptune. This is a day for us to bring closure to the year we have just journeyed. The new year awaits us, and our imagination can run rampant with high hopes and desperate trepidations. We know where we have been, have hardly a clue as to where we are going. While it would be wise to keep our wits about us, tie up loose ends that we would prefer not to bring into the new year, some of us may instead engage in indulgences as though excesses would blind us to our realities. No matter how we choose to spend this New Year’s Eve, we might benefit with periods of reflection, acknowledging lessons learned, challenges met, and disappointments survived. Let’s bless the year passing, for despite the chaos and disruptions during 2019, each of us and all of us have had some wonderful experiences and various opportunities to make the very best of the situations we encountered. Today is a day to celebrate ‘out with the old’. Tomorrow we can embrace the hopes and promise of the new, no matter our anxiety or fear of the unknown.
Wednesday, January 1st – In the Year 2020 – Saturn, Pluto, Mars. Wednesday begins the new year of 2020 and offers us a brand new start. We may feel somewhat hung over as we begin this Wednesday, for the Pisces Moon is completing its transit of Pisces. As it does so, the Moon sextiles both Saturn and Pluto both in Capricorn, and the Moon trines Mars. Late in the day, the Moon exits Pisces to enter Aries. A sense of unresolved issues to begin this day can have us dealing with responsibilities and tasks at hand. Many of us have this day as a holiday, and it would be a good day to finish our filing of last year’s affairs and especially those we wish to conclude rather than bring into this new year. This is a day for us to address those pesky details, sweep clean outstanding matters that have little relevance to our new year, and provide a clean slate upon which to draw our resolutions for this new year. 2020 is a Master Number in numerology, a 22 that reflects the Master Builder. If we draw upon the mastery of the number we can build upon rock. If we bring the 22 down to a 4, then we are liable to build upon sand, maintain a slog of mediocrity, and just feel burdened by our daily woes. Our choice, always our choice. Late in the day, the Moon exits the last Sign of the Zodiac, Pisces, and enters the first Sign of the Zodiac, Aries. We may start the day reminiscing and dealing with ‘auld lang syne’, but we end the day focused on the present and our future and relegate our past to the dustbin of experience.
Thursday, January 2nd – Better Ways – Jupiter, Mercury, Sun. Thursday continues with the Aries Moon with the Moon today square three of the five Capricorn-transiting planets — Jupiter, Mercury, and the Sun. Mercury conjuncts Jupiter. Breaking patterns can be hard. Patterns can be engrained into the very core of our being. Many bodywork techniques speak to the realization that we store our emotional reactions, traumas, into our physical body, until through bodywork we release the blockages, those pent-up emotional reactions stored in the body that keep us locked up into repeated emotional reactions. We may be geared on this Thursday and at the beginning of this new year to start, launch and initiate our resolutions for this new year, some of which are major breakaways from our past. Our liberation might be stymied by our responsibilities, by our anxieties of the unknown, and by our questioning our ability to break free of the past. We might feel as though drastic changes would be like jumping into a chasm, a void whose depth or circumstance may be far beyond our comprehension or our capabilities. With Mercury conjunct Jupiter we can have the sense that ‘all things are possible’, a sense that is often reinforced at any new beginning, at the first step of any journey taken. If we would engage our enthusiasm for the new with a confidence that we shall be guided in our new beginnings, then we can proceed with optimism for our new projects and for new activities to pursue. We do not have to employ an ‘all or nothing’ attitude to start this year’s journey. On the contrary, like building a suspension bridge, we can put down slat by slat of our future engagements, all the while turning back on occasion to deal with our past before progressing forward once again. Eventually, we shall get to the other side, to our new sense of being in the future, and then and only then shall we have the choice of cutting the ties that bind.
Friday, January 3rd – Onward – Venus, Saturn, Pluto, Moon Void-of-Course, Mars Sagittarius. Friday continues with the Aries Moon with the Moon today sextile Venus, and the Moon square the last two of the Capricorn-transiting planets, Saturn and Pluto. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for almost fifteen hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon completes its transit of Aries and before the Moon enters Taurus tomorrow. Mars exits Scorpio to enter Sagittarius. Even if we feel hampered by our tasks, outstanding matters or responsibilities, Friday has us more in gear with our future plans and prospects. Discussions with other people could reveal some fascinating possibilities of which we were not aware. Let’s be open to the ideas and suggestions presented, keeping in mind that ‘where there is a will, there is a way’, a proverb more valid during this paradigm shift into asequential reality than ever before. We have moved into a period of magic and mini-miracles where boundaries, even boundaries between dimensions, are breaking down. Even if we buy into limitations and restrictions, they are more an old pattern of bygone eras [or is that errors?] than the new template of unexpected events happening in a most inexplicable manner. With Mars entering Sagittarius, we are likely revving our engines to expand our interests and engage new pursuits. No matter the perceived limitations, we may feel as though there is no stopping us now, especially with us crossing the threshold into this new, ever more powerful, new year of 2020. Now is a time for us to ‘go for the gold’ by working smarter rather than harder.
Saturday, January 4th – Easier with Confidence – Moon Void-of-Course, Uranus, Jupiter. Saturday may be slow starting with the Moon finishing its transit of Aries without the Moon making any connections to the planets. It might feel like ‘dead space’, but it could also be a time when we pump ourselves up, feel the juice flowing through our veins, and preparing ourselves to initiate our resolutions in a pragmatic, practical manner. As the day progresses, the Moon exits Aries to enter Taurus with the Taurus Moon conjunct Uranus and the Moon trine Jupiter in Capricorn. With the Taurus Moon trining the Capricorn-transiting planets today, tomorrow, and early Monday, these three days can be highly productive, seed-planting days. We might be surprised with the ease by which we can move things forward. We are looking to streamline operations and we could feel as though the universe is assisting us in finding the most expeditious ways of accomplishing our plans. We may have a sense that whatever we are intending can actually work out. Let’s maintain humility, for if we get arrogant and narcissistic, then we are liable to get in our own way and shoot ourselves in the foot. If we are optimistic and open to alternative means, we could find ourselves further down the road towards our goals than we could have possibly imagined.
Sunday, January 5th – Everything in its Proper Order – Mercury, Sun, Neptune. Sunday continues with the Taurus Moon with the Moon today trine both Mercury and the Sun both in Capricorn, and the Moon sextile Neptune. Yesterday through today into Monday can be a highly effective and productive time. We can create the right template for ourselves to get this year in gear. Creative visualization, whereby we envision the process of conceptualization through implementation into manifestation, is a strong tool in blueprinting our plans for successful results. By joining our intuitive sense with our hands-on approach, we could move things along, take into account possible hiccups along the way, and devise a ‘best practices’ strategy to accomplish our goals. Although weekends are often focused on recreational activities, this weekend might best be served by engaging re-creational activities, where we plan and start to implement our new pursuits for this year.
