December 23rd – 29th, 2019

The astrology for this week of December 23rd through the 29th of 2019 has us smack dab in the holiday spirit of Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanzaa, and no matter our religious or philosophical beliefs, we may be celebrating, looking forward to new opportunities in the year ahead and fully embracing an upbeat and grounded attitude.

The week begins with some of us taking off, whether we are physically traveling or just journeying through the decorative lights and sparkles of this time of year. Although many people have been anxious, fearful and angry, we can lighten our disposition, step away from our mundane worries, and consider the wonder and magic of this holiday season.

Whether or not we decide to make specific resolutions, we may use this week not only to participate in the fun gatherings. We can also bring closure to matters of our past, all the while considering what we might wish to engage in our future.

The New Moon mid-week is a Solar Eclipse with the Sun Moon conjunction also conjunct Jupiter and all three trine to Uranus in Taurus. The gifts at this time might not be solely the presents under the tree or the gifts we give to each other. There may be some wonderful surprises, a sense that things are not merely progressing forward but that a sense of serendipity and synchronicity is at play, offering us as humankind incredible opportunities — gifts — that virtually come out from nowhere.

While we are still participating in social gatherings during the latter part of the week, we could also be focused on our goals and our ambitions, cleaning up our loose ends that we do not want to bring into the new year and also preparing the way for us to launch new activities and projects as we enter the new year.

The weekend can have us spending times with friends and loved ones.

We have a Sign change on the weekend with Mercury exiting Sagittarius to enter Capricorn, adding to the Stellium in the Cardinal Earth Sign as Mercury joins the Sun, Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn. The weather might be cold and brutal, but we are geared up for the year ahead, the year of 2020, a Master Number in Numerology that speaks to the Master Builder. We may reinforce our commitment to build upon rock rather than upon sand with our projects and our activities for the days ahead.

Monday, December 23rd – Fly Away – Moon Void-of-Course, Venus. Monday begins the week with the Void-of-Course Moon completing its transit of Scorpio with no connections to the planets before the Moon enters Sagittarius where later in the day the Moon sextiles Venus. Although this Monday could be slow starting, we might be getting our house in order either preparing to welcome guests for the holiday festivities or readying ourselves to get out of town. A tendency to hold our cards close to our chest, focus on what needs to get done and tie up loose ends may be the early part of the day. As the day progresses, we could be far more upbeat and looking to fully engage the festivities of the season. Time spent with good friends out and about in celebration of the holidays is likely to put a smile on our face. Whether we travel literally or figuratively today, we can leave our troubles behind, have a good time, and just enjoy our self.

Tuesday, December 24th – Flurry of Options – Neptune, Sun, Uranus. The Moon continues its transit of Sagittarius with the Moon today square Neptune. The Sun trines Uranus. It’s Christmas Eve and for those celebrating Christmas tomorrow this day could be a day of runaround, doing the last minute errands, purchasing the final gifts, and completing the necessary finishing touches to tomorrow’s festivities. The energy may be ratcheted up today, and it would be wise to have a game plan, enlist time management skills, and itinerary in hand before we start out on the day. Otherwise, we could be pulled in various directions by any number of distractions. If we could avoid the obligations and commitments today, that might be our preference. For many of us, this day is best served not by running errands but rather by being spontaneous and by participating in whatever catches our fancy. By not being in harness to what we need to do, we could come across some wonderful surprises. We just have to look up, be open to receive, and have the time to take advantage of the serendipities.

Wednesday, December 25th – Happy, Happy – Mercury, Moon Void-of-Course, Uranus. Wednesday is Christmas with much of our daily activities grinding to a halt as we take the time to luxuriate in gift giving, family gatherings and sumptuous dining. The day begins with the Sagittarius Moon conjunct Mercury before the Moon goes Void-of-Course for eight and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Sagittarius and before the Moon enters Capricorn where late in the day the Moon trines Uranus. We are also on the dark side of the Moon prior to the Capricorn New Moon, a Solar Eclipse, late today, early tomorrow. This is a day for us to enjoy ourselves. Alleviated of the pressures of our daily lives, we can feel like a weight is lifted from our shoulders, relax, play and have a good time with good friends or by our self. There is not a great deal of energy today, and that’s exactly what we might like, since a certain quiet is welcome relief from the fast-paced lives we all tend to live. Without pressing demands, we can consider options and alternatives that our daily lives just don’t allow for. Tuesday and Wednesday with the Uranus influence are days when we can take off our blinders, see from peripheral vision, and look all around at what might inspire us and provide us both the most excitement and freedom in doing ‘our thing’.

Thursday, December 26th – All This and More – Capricorn New Moon, Solar Eclipse, Sun, Jupiter, Neptune. Late on Wednesday, early Thursday, we have the Capricorn New Moon, a Solar Eclipse, with the Moon conjunct the Sun. This New Moon also conjuncts Jupiter and by orb the three bunched together planets trine Uranus. We end the day with the Moon sextile Neptune. This New Moon provides the signature for the next fortnight up to the Full Moon on the 10th of January. And what a signature this energy configuration offers us! This is a day and a signature when we can devise our goals and intentions for our days ahead. It would be wise for us to remember the key element of these times of paradigm shift — we are co-creators with the universal unfolding and NOT the sole arbiters of the circumstances, conditions, or even direction, of our personal journey. The more we can be open to the indications of mini-miracles and magic that this paradigm shift provides, the easier our path will be. This is a time when we can embrace all possibilities, even the seemingly implausible, for this next two-week period may reveal unexpected opportunities, surprising situations that alter our trajectory, yet also speak to our most heartfelt desires.

Friday, December 27th – Tactical Planning – Saturn, Pluto, Mars, Moon Void-of-Course, Sun, Jupiter. Whatever thrust of energy we might have felt as a result of the New Moon configuration yesterday, this Friday allows us to begin our journey towards our future by devising the right template by which to accomplish our goals. The Capricorn Moon today conjuncts both Saturn and Pluto, and the Moon sextiles Mars. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for over eight hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Capricorn and before the Moon enters Aquarius early on Saturday. The Sun conjuncts Jupiter. This is a day for us to complete outstanding matters that we do not want to bring into the new year, all the while that we are giving thought to our projects and activities we intend to launch in the coming year. Let’s keep in mind that this new year of 2020 is a Master Year, a year of the Master Builder when we can put down solid foundations for our goals and our ambitions. The ‘force’ will be with us so long as we reach for our full potential and not get blindsided by old issues unresolved. This Friday we may be feeling upbeat with an appreciation that even though it is a calendar marking, the new year does promise ‘out with the old, in with the new’. While we can do our due diligence about the ‘best practices’ approach to realize our goals, it is essential that we keep in mind that we are entering the asequential reality where things occur not in a sequential manner but rather things occur in a most random and inexplicable way. We are called upon to keep up our antennae, work with the energies unfolding, maintain humility, and enjoy the ride. Disruptions will occur, but they don’t have to be anxiety provoking but rather seen as wondrous opportunities of change and transformation.

Saturday, December 28th – Twist and Turn – Uranus, Venus, Mercury Capricorn. Saturday has the Moon moving into Aquarius where today the Moon squares Uranus and the Moon conjuncts Venus. Mercury exits Sagittarius to enter Capricorn adding to the Cardinal Earth Stellium as Mercury joins Jupiter, the Sun, Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn. One of the fascinating aspects of these times is that straight line trajectories no longer turn out to be straight lines but rather various twists and turns. No matter what our plans for this Saturday might be, we may find that we are having to alter our intentions. Things today can shift and change. While social gatherings can be fun events, we have to be wary of the costs involved. This is a day when even a ‘bargain’ would seem costly. Let’s keep track of our expenditures, yet at the same time be open to the twists and turns as interesting events could open to us. The latter part of the day could have us talking up a storm with someone who has fascinating ideas we might consider to pursue.

Sunday, December 29th – In the Still. Sunday continues with the Aquarius Moon, but the Moon today makes no aspects to any of the planets. There is not a whole lot of energy on this Sunday, which may be welcome relief from the Christmas celebrations and a nice respite before the New Year celebrations. This Sunday may be like a blank slate, whereby we have nothing pressing on us to do and consequently can do whatever we choose to do. Taking time to explore options and consider alternatives would allow us to seed our consciousness regarding the limitless possibilities that the new year offers. We might enjoy some alone time today or to get together with a special someone or special friends. The beauty of this day is the fact that in the stillness anything can develop. Let’s keep our antennae up, be open to receive and just enjoy the stillness that often is pregnant with opportunities of which we were not aware.
