The astrology for this week of November 18th through the 24th of 2019 has us picking up the pace with ever greater intensity and a better focus on the truly significant to engage.
The week begins with us likely feeling our oats in an expansive and determined mood. We may put our individual and unique mark on everything that we are doing. We could be crowing about our latest greatest accomplishment, no matter how large or diminutive that accomplishment might be.
This week teases us with two Stelliums of three planets in a particular Sign, brief powerpacks that gun the system.
The first Stellium occurs by Mars exiting Libra, a Sign of its Detriment where Mars is uncomfortable. Mars enters Scorpio, a Sign that Mars co-rules with Pluto, and briefly joins the Sun and Mercury in the Fixed Water Sign. Our energy may seem indefatigable, and to whatever we put our attention we can virtually move mountains by our grit and persistence alone.
Mid-week has Mercury ending its three-week retrograde cycle, and what a Mercury retrograde this one has been! I have experienced, and I have heard from others, how convoluted this Mercury retrograde has been with wastes of time, wastes of energy, wastes of monies — a virtual dump heap of delays, frustrations and severe indications of Murphy’s Law in operation with its ‘whatever can go wrong could go wrong’.
Whenever Mercury changes direction, we have to be especially careful that the worst of a crazed Mercury doesn’t get the best of us. Consequently, it is essential that we be ultra-cautious mid-week, for otherwise we could suffer miscommunications, travel problems, computer issues and other curve balls that ratchet expense after expense.
It takes some time to get our balance in the swirling and shifting energies of Mercury turning direction.
The Scorpio Stellium is short-lived, a three-day occurrence, as the Sun exits Scorpio on Friday to enter Sagittarius, triggering a three-day Mutable Fire Stellium as the Sun joins Venus and Jupiter in Sagittarius until next Monday when Venus exits Sagittarius to enter Capricorn, which at that time has Venus trigger a Capricorn Stellium, but that’s for the following week.
With the Sun in Sagittarius, and especially on Sunday when the two ‘good guys’ of the Zodiac, Venus and Jupiter, join together, we can feel like we’re in seventh heaven. In a confident and expansive attitude, our optimism and our involvements may know no bounds. While this may be a primo period of ‘feel good’ temperaments, it could be tempered and even adversely impacted by the Mars opposed Uranus on the same day. Pushing the envelope with the assumption that everything will go our way just by reason of our wanting it so might trigger a major pushback with liable catastrophes and making us accident-prone.
During these highly volatile times, it is essential that we maintain balance no matter how narrow the balance beam of our life’s activities may be.
Monday, November 18th – Despite Cautionary Signs – Mercury. We begin the week with the Moon continuing its transit of Leo and with the Moon today square Mercury. We may be hell-bent to put our creative mark on our projects and do whatever we damn well please on this Monday. No matter the evidence in front of us suggesting otherwise, what we want is what we are likely to do on this Monday. We can forego cautionary signs indicating to go slow, to take our time and be flexible enough to adapt and change if necessary as we proceed. On the contrary, we might intend to go for the gold no matter the obstacles or expenses in the way. This is a day for us to curb our enthusiasm, a suggestion likely to be highly difficult under the blind faith and false optimism we could be feeling. Taking the time to schedule our day, calculate our time and budget our finances, could help us prevent going overboard and chasing illusory pipedreams. People may choose to be on center stage today, expressing their personal preferences, but much of the information divulged may be more fanciful than realistic. It would be wise for us not to get caught up in the machinations of someone’s, or even our own, imagination. Let’s heed the cautionary signs or else tempt the hands of fate.
Tuesday, November 19th – Glimpses of the Possibilities – Venus, Jupiter, Sun, Moon Void-of-Course, Mars, Mars Scorpio. Tuesday may be a highly pleasant day and could give us a glimpse of what is to come over the weekend. The Leo Moon today trines both Venus and Jupiter both in Jupiter-ruled Sagittarius. The Moon squares the Sun just before the Moon goes Void-of-Course for four and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon completes its transit of Leo and before the Moon moves into Virgo where today the Moon sextiles Mars, which earlier in the day exited Libra to enter its own Sign of Scorpio and in so doing triggers a Stellium in the Fixed Water Sign as Mars joins the Sun and Mercury in Scorpio. With a thrust of physical energy and greater determination, we could feel on top of the world as we start this Tuesday. Our confidence and optimism may know no bounds, and our attention can be on our prospects and our possibilities rather than on our daily affairs or even taking into account our liability of stretching our resources thin to carry out our intentions. Whatever our ‘feel good’ disposition may entail, it might serve only as a prelude to what this coming weekend could offer us when Venus and Jupiter come together. Let’s consider our plans enthusiastically but without irrational exuberance and wait to implement until we come out from under the Mercury retrograde and maybe even the Mercury retrograde ‘shadow’ that goes on until the 7th of December.
Wednesday, November 20th – Expedited Means – Uranus, Mercury, Neptune, Mercury direct. Wednesday has the Virgo Moon trine Uranus, the Moon sextile Mercury, and the Moon opposed Neptune. For many of us, the highlight of the day and cause for great celebration is Mercury ending its three-week retrograde cycle as Mercury turns direct. Even though we may feel as if we have come out from under a cloud, we still need to be careful as we adjust to the shift in energy. If we would be methodical in our approach to this day, we could achieve a great deal and do so in streamlined means. This is a day for us to think outside the box, all the while that we are looking at the big picture and still dealing with the essential specifics. We can blend a highly effective strategy with our unbridled confidence to give thought to our next six weeks and rounding out the year in a positive and upbeat manner. But, and it’s a very large BUT, we have to be certain that our vantage point is realistic and considers the liability, or the opportunity, of the law of unintended consequences. Especially during these times of the paradigm shift with its wide swings in volatility, we have to keep our feet on the ground while we might have our head in the clouds. Recognizing that our projects, our activities, and our involvements all have a life of their own will help us to avoid being overly controlling and appreciate the mystery and the magic of these times of the shift from linear, sequential reality into the asequential reality where things can occur in a most inexplicable manner. As the saying of transformation advises us: adapt or die.
Thursday, November 21st – Reining In – Saturn, Pluto, Venus, Jupiter, Sun. Our effectiveness yesterday, even if convoluted as we navigated the shift in Mercury from retrograde to direct motion, can be ratcheted up severalfold today, at least as we start the day. Thursday continues with the Virgo Moon with the Moon today trine both Saturn and Pluto both in Capricorn. As the day progresses, the Moon squares both Venus and Jupiter both in Sagittarius. We end the day with the Moon sextile the Sun before the Moon exits Virgo to enter Libra to close out the day. If we didn’t get off track into an illusionary and delusionary realm as we ended Wednesday, then we can start this Thursday with our head down and our focus on dealing with what needs to get done. This Thursday is a good day to clean up some of the messes that might have occurred during the three-week Mercury retrograde cycle that ended yesterday. And messes there were! This is a good day to concentrate on mundane matters, address any pressing needs and to keep our eye on the ball. Although we can be highly effective today, checking off one item after another on our ‘to do’ list, we have to be wary that we don’t get overconfident or attempt too much. Enthusiasm and optimism is all well and good, but we are increasingly feeling a sense of ‘good time Charlie’ whereby we might negate certain realities by emphasizing overconfidence and blind faith. Let’s keep in mind that the volatility of these times creates wide swings, swings between irrational exuberance where we assume nothing can go wrong and desperate despair where we believe that nothing will go right. These times demand balance and the embrace of the British wartime slogan of ‘Keep Calm and Carry On’.
Friday, November 22nd – Lift Your Eyes – Sun Sagittarius. Friday has the Moon in Libra, but this early transit of the Cardinal Air Sign has the Moon making no connections to the planets today. The main energy of this Friday is the Sun exiting Scorpio to enter Sagittarius. As it enters Sagittarius, the Sun triggers a Stellium in the Mutable Fire Sign as the Sun joins the two ‘good guys’ of the Zodiac, Venus and Jupiter, in Jupiter-ruled Sagittarius. This day may kick off a weekend of good times with good friends. Everything may be all fun and games… until someone gets hurt. We are moving into a highly expansionary mood, some of which can be explained by the impending holidays, much of which could be attributed to the energy configurations. Especially over this weekend, many people may be on a high, discounting all the negativity presented in the media and emphasizing a desire for, at the very least, peace in our own personal world. Even if there is an elephant in the room, we are likely to negate it. No Eeyores for us right now. The gloom of doom is not something we wish to engage. No, these times, this weekend, allow us to go for the gold, enjoy our talents and our abilities, and surround ourselves with people of our ilk. It may be party time with good friends for good times.
Saturday, November 23rd – Grin and Bear It – Saturn, Pluto, Venus, Jupiter. Thursday had us productive early in the day able to deal with what needed to get done before shifting later in the day to a liability of over enthusiasm and an assumption that everything would work out in our favor whether we concentrated on our best work or just allowed things to slide. Thursday had positive aspects to the Capricorn-transiting planets and negative aspects to the Sagittarius-transiting planets. This Saturday does a 180 switch with the Libra Moon square both Saturn and Pluto both in Capricorn to begin the day, and with the Libra Moon sextile both Venus and Jupiter both in Sagittarius late in the day. We may start the day with our list of errands, projects and other activities that seem more obligations and responsibilities than weekend fun. Some of the tasks we may get involved with might not be self-directed but rather at the behest of someone else. Let’s avoid resentment, which would get us nowhere except angry and exhausted. This is a day to do what needs to be done, get it out of the way, and then enjoy the latter part of the day in social gatherings or even a short journey out of the familiar. Late Saturday and much of Sunday can be a highly upbeat time. We just have to watch that we don’t push the envelope and go for extreme good times.
Sunday, November 24th – Top of the Mountain, Bottom of the Ravine – Mars, Uranus, Mercury, Venus, Jupiter. In A Tale of Two Cities, Charles Dickens wrote: “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times,…”, and he continued on that vein of parallel opposites. Such a sentiment might also reflect the energies for this Sunday. Today has the Moon in Scorpio with the Moon conjunct Mars, the Moon opposed Uranus, and the Moon conjunct Mercury. The key players by influence for this day are Venus conjunct Jupiter, and Mars opposed Uranus. This is not a day when we are likely to do things, any thing, in half measure. This Sunday may be one intense day, a day of extremes — irrational exuberance and irrational actions. With the two ‘good guys’ of the Zodiac, Venus and Jupiter, coming together, we can have a burst of expansive energy, believing that everything is going our way. We can be confident, optimistic and looking to expand, even if we are relying solely on blind faith. Once engaged, there may be no stopping us. We do have to be careful of reckless, impulsive actions, for we could be accident-prone. Assuming that everything will work out in our favor, we could go too far out on a limb, or fly too close to the sun, or… you get the idea. This is a day for us to embrace positive attitudes but to temper both our disposition and our actions. Temperance movement would harness our upbeat attitude with an ability to do things differently and with a determination to accomplish our goals.
