The astrology for this week of October 28th through the 3rd of November 20019 can have us lamenting: “It’s back.”
Yup, this week gives us the scary frolics of Halloween on the same day that we enter the third and final of this year’s Mercury retrograde.
Being under the influence of this past Sunday’s Scorpio New Moon with the Sun Moon conjunction opposed Uranus, we may find this week to be slightly convoluted at best with our desire to escape our regular routine.
But as Martha Reeves and the Vandellas warned us in their 1965 pop song, there’s ‘nowhere to run to, baby, nowhere to hide’.
This Mercury retrograde operating under Murphy’s Law of ‘whatever can go wrong could go wrong’ may be ratcheted up exponentially thanks to the Scorpio New Moon influence and especially the Uranus curveballs where unexpected matters might trip us up.
The week may begin benignly enough, although with us itching to do something different and get out of the discomfort of our familiar. Maintaining a strong hold on our finances would prevent us from overspending or making reckless purchases.
With Mercury turning retrograde on Thursday, it is suggested that we complete important matters prior to the Mercury retrograde or postpone significant decisions until after Mercury turns direct on the 20th of November.
The end of the week has Venus exiting Scorpio, ending the Stellium of three planets in Scorpio and with Venus exiting a Sign of its Detriment, where Venus is uncomfortable and can taint our relationships with secrecy and jealousy.
With Venus entering Sagittarius, the two ‘good guys’ of the planetary realm – Venus and Jupiter – are now both in the Jupiter-ruled Mutable Fire Sign of Sagittarius. Expansion can be our focal point but with a cautionary heads-up that we’re under the Mercury retrograde influence and the impact of the Scorpio New Moon with its Uranus intrigues.
Broadening our involvements while maintaining mindfulness and awareness of changing circumstance would allow us to widen our scope utilizing extreme caution.
The weekend may be geared towards taking care of business, attending to errands and dealing with the specifics of our mundane matters on Saturday. Sunday allows us to participate in good times with good friends or just stepping off the track of our regular routine.
Monday, October 28th – In ‘n Out – Saturn, Neptune, Sun, Uranus. Monday continues with the Moon in Scorpio with the Moon today sextile Saturn, and the Moon trine Neptune. We could be highly effective today by blending both our intuitive sense and our practical application. We might get a great deal done, feel as though we are being guided in our movements, and with a sense that things are falling neatly into place. What a marvelous experience, but an experience that can only occur if we don’t get in our own way. And therein could lie a problem, for this Monday also has the Sun opposed Uranus. Yesterday’s New Moon configuration, which impacts the next two weeks, had the Sun Moon conjunction opposed Uranus. No matter what our plans may be, there could be unexpected variables that disrupt our intentions and change the course of action. This Monday could have us trying to force things to our will. The liability of our upsetting the apple cart cannot be discounted with subsequent huge costs both financially and in our effectiveness. We may be champing at the bit to assert our mastery over circumstance or just choose to step away from our schedule to exert our willfulness. Either of those two responses might be highly detrimental. Why go there when we can restrain our impulses, do what needs to get done, with the recognition that this Monday can be a highly productive day prior to Thursday’s Mercury retrograde?
Tuesday, October 29th – Heart and Soul – Pluto, Venus, Mercury, Moon Void-of-Course. Tuesday’s Scorpio Moon sextiles Pluto, and the Moon conjuncts both Venus and Mercury. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for almost four and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon completes its transit of Scorpio and before the Moon enters Sagittarius later in the day. Tuesday may be a day when we fully appreciate the comfort and support we receive from our loved ones. A highly emotional day this Tuesday, we have the opportunity of concentrating on the true purpose, the real meaning of our life. Like peeling an onion, we can strip away the layers of the many characteristics of our life and get down to the core — the heart and soul of our living. People may be far more connected with each other without concern about the superfluous but rather the focus on the depth of each individual’s being. This would be a good day to express in action, more so than in our words, our attitude of gratitude for those special people in our life. More may go on today than meets the eye, but any gesture, no matter how slight, can be recognized and appreciated by the recipient.
Wednesday, October 30th – Messing with My Mind – Neptune, Mercury, Venus. Wednesday has the Sagittarius Moon square Neptune. Mercury is conjunct Venus, one day before Mercury turns retrograde, and two days before Venus exits Scorpio to enter Sagittarius. Much of today’s energy occurs later in the day. We are on the threshold of significant shifts in energy, and consequently this Wednesday can be disjointed. What we see may not be what we get. We have to be wary that we’re not dealing on blind faith today, for our assumptions could be totally off the mark. Although we might be feeling upbeat and encouraged by someone else, this Wednesday and tomorrow implore us not to give way to hopes and wishes that have little basis in reality. Despite the fact that world events are crazy-making with widespread anxieties contagious, it is essential that we stay grounded and not be thrown by the wide whipsaws of either irrational exuberance or downright despair. Seeking sanctuary and creating a ‘safe space’ for our selves would provide a healthy buffer from the bizarre antics operating in the world at these times. Let’s try to avoid the static of bombardment of information overload from messing with our minds, and instead keep focused and embrace the philosophical concept that all we see may just be but an illusion.
Thursday, October 31st – Tricks and Treats – Mars, Jupiter, Moon Void-of-Course, Mercury retrograde. Thursday is the last day of October and also Halloween, a day once of celebrations and festivities before the p.c. crowd put a damper on it. Early on Thursday, the Sagittarius Moon sextiles Mars, and the Moon conjuncts Jupiter. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for twelve hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Sagittarius and before the Moon enters Capricorn late in the day. We could start the day upbeat and in a treating sort of way. We might express our creative side in the wardrobe we choose to wear today, in the yumminess of baked goods and candy to share, or in an optimistic and friendly manner. Anything wrong with any of that? No, treats are always fun, just ask your cat or dog by placing a treat in front of them and see if they decline — not too likely. Unfortunately, the duality of nature often seen in the extremes has on this day the potential for treats but also for tricks, the latter coming in the form of Mercury turning retrograde. Mercury almost made it to Sagittarius but in the last two and a half degrees of Scorpio Mercury turns. For the next three weeks, we have to suffer under the influence and liable consequences of Mercury retrograde. Since it takes some time for adjustment in this shift of energy, today can be convoluted with traffic problems, unexpected expenses, and technological glitches. Treat and trick.
Friday, November 1st – Saints Go Marching – Uranus, Sun, Venus Sagittarius. Friday continues with the Capricorn Moon with the Moon today trine Uranus, and the Moon sextile the Sun. Venus exits Scorpio to enter Sagittarius, thereby ending the Stellium in Scorpio and joining the other ‘good guy’ of the Zodiac, Jupiter, in the Jupiter-ruled Sign. Enlisting new methods to deal with our situations could find us being highly productive in a most expeditious way. Not only can we be effective in what we are doing, but we can also do things in a most resourceful manner. No excess for us today. We are more interested in streamlining our operations, working smarter rather than harder, and accomplishing more without much expense. This Friday is a good day to tie up loose ends, bring matters to conclusion, and clear away the debris before the weekend. Our relationships are likely to improve with the Venus Sign shift. We are less liable to be secretive, jealous or snarky. On the contrary, we may be more optimistic and willing to look at things on the sunny side of life. With both Jupiter and Venus now transiting Sagittarius, we are likely to be more upbeat, in an expansive attitude and confident about our future prospects.
Saturday, November 2nd – One Step at a Time – Saturn, Neptune, Mars, Pluto. Saturday continues with the Capricorn Moon with the Moon today conjunct both Saturn and Pluto, the Moon sextile Neptune, and the Moon square Mars. This Saturday is a fine day for straightening out things, attending to errands, and dealing with mundane matters that have been on our ‘to do’ list but that we just haven’t gotten done. Someone might suggest we do something other than our tasks at hand, but such a distraction would only slow us down or pile up our ‘to do’ list. Astrology is all about timing, and today is better served in completing certain tasks and taking care of business. We can enjoy ourselves another time, such as tomorrow, but for today let’s attend to necessary matters and get certain issues out of the way.
Sunday, November 3rd – Geared for Adventure – Mercury, Venus, Uranus. Sunday begins with the Moon finishing its transit of Capricorn with the Moon sextile Mercury. The Moon then goes into Aquarius where today the Moon sextiles Venus and the Moon squares Uranus. If we accomplished many of our errands yesterday and now can put to rest our ‘to do’ list, this Sunday is ripe for good times with good friends. We may have an itch to get together with people who have a broader perspective than our own, someone or some people with whom we could have a grand adventure. We might choose to get out of town, broaden our involvements, and take on new activities. We do have to be wary of the costs involved and not engage in any extreme sports. This is a day for us to enjoy ourselves, spread our wings and explore all realms of possibility. Let’s be aware that we are operating under Mercury retrograde and a time when unexpected variables might interrupt our intentions and cause us to change our plans. These times, and especially this two-week period from last Sunday’s New Moon up to the Full Moon on the 12th, demand that we be flexible and able to adapt to unexpected circumstance.
