The astrology for this week of October 21st through the 27th of 2019 may have us playing to our strengths and enjoying our connections with other people.
The week starts on a mystical tone. Someone or something might trigger our depth of feelings, bring out our spiritual aspects, and engage our compassion and our desire to nurture. Like the saying ‘what goes around comes around’, the week begins with an attitude of gratitude and some likely karmic tie where what we might have done in our past is now richly rewarded.
We can feel more alive early in the week and looking to express our creative self. Not that we are liable to come from egotistical narcissism. No, on the contrary, we could find ourselves speaking from our heart and expressing our spirit and on a soul level.
The mid-week finds a significant shift in energy as the Sun exits Libra and enters Scorpio. As it moves into Scorpio, the Sun creates a Stellium in the Fixed Water Sign, as the Sun joins Mercury and Venus in Scorpio. Similar to nature in the higher latitudes with the stripping away of the leaves on the trees to reveal the bare essence of the landscape, so too for us we may focus more on the essentials and less on the superfluous in our life.
The positive aspect of the Scorpio emphasis is the opportunity to turn inward and concentrate on the truly meaningful, whereas the negative characteristic of Scorpio could have us becoming more intense, secretive and jealous of what we don’t have.
Much can be accomplished during the latter part of the week with more of our achievements being a paring down and eliminating the dross rather than the acquiring and the accumulation of more stuff.
We end the week with the Scorpio New Moon on Sunday with the New Moon impacting the next two weeks. Whether we choose to do so or the universe steps in to assist us, this next two week period can raise issues with our resources with unexpected situations proving costly and pointing the way as to how best to get our house in order. Any sense of ‘normal’ may go out the window as we seek to navigate the swirling currents of these times. Welcome to the fun house.
Monday, October 21st – I Knew You When – Sun, Uranus, Venus, Neptune. Monday begins this week with the Cancer Moon square the Sun. The Moon then moves into Leo where late in the day the Moon squares Uranus. We may be slow starting as we begin the week. We might have to address someone’s issues and provide assistance in matters other than our own. Even if we try and force things, we may find that things do not go according to plan. While on a mundane and superficial level, we could experience pushbacks and obstacles in our way; the beauty of this day can be found in the sense of connection with someone. Venus trines Neptune, and we might encounter someone with whom we feel a spiritual bond, a sense of comfort that belies the amount of time we have known that person. A feeling that we have known that person at some other time, in some other dimension, may be strong today. Such a relationship can seem idyllic, as if reconnecting with someone with whom we have a soul connection. Today is a day to forego concerns about what seems to be going on in the world and to concentrate instead on the subtle but enlivening aspects of our own life.
Tuesday, October 22nd – Goldilocks Syndrome – Mars, Venus. Tuesday continues with the Leo Moon with the Moon sextile Mars to begin the day, and the Moon square Venus to end the day. Feeling our oats and encouraged by someone, we could be gung-ho as we begin the day. Our desire to broaden our reach and expand our activities can have us reaching for the stars or, at the least, on a tear to doing too much. This day might be similar to the story about Goldilocks and the three bears. We could start the day going for too much only to find later in the day that we have gone too far. These extremes of excess and abstinence might lead to just enough, but the whipsaw could be dizzying. This is a day to embrace the concept of ‘moderation in all things’, but a sentiment we are unlikely to engage. If we do not moderate our activities, then we might experience the universe doing so for us. Let’s try and apply braking action in the morning hours so that we don’t have to cut way back later in the day. While we are in a society that supports the idea of getting everything we want, there is truth to the suggestions by both Oscar Wilde and George Bernard Shaw that the two tragedies in life are not getting what we want, and the other is getting it. The question of balance speaks to moderation rather than extremes.
Wednesday, October 23rd – Down to the Bare Bones – Jupiter, Mercury, Moon Void-of-Course, Sun, Uranus, Sun Scorpio. This whipsaw between too much and too little that we might have experienced yesterday continues as we begin this Wednesday. The Moon finishes its transit of Leo with the Moon trine Jupiter, and the Moon square Mercury. The universe has a way of shaving off the excesses in our life, and we could experience this characteristic both yesterday and also today. Any overreach on our part can lead to a significant pushback. The Moon goes Void-of-Course for over ten hours as the Moon completes its transit of Leo with the Moon making no further connections to the planets and before the Moon enters Virgo later in the day, where today the Moon sextiles the Sun, which has just entered Scorpio, and the Moon trines Uranus. The latter part of this Wednesday allows us to work smarter, cut to the core and come up with interesting alternative methods that are far more streamlined and give us more bang for our buck. The most significant energy of this Wednesday is the Sun exiting Libra to enter Scorpio. The Sun’s entrance into Scorpio creates a Stellium and powerpack in the Fixed Water Sign as the Sun joins Mercury and Venus in Scorpio. While we might have dithered on our seesaw of too much and not enough over the past two days, we can now truly focus on the most significant and concentrate on the truly purposeful. We are entering into some of the most intense period of the year but also a phase that allows us to take an internal review of how we’re doing life. On the short term, it might be more of a question of a good autumnal cleanout than accumulating more stuff.
Thursday, October 24th – Getting Down to Business – Saturn, Neptune. Thursday and Friday can continue with Wednesday afternoon’s attention to mundane matters and specific details. Today the Virgo Moon trines Saturn and the Moon opposes Neptune. The key to this day is keeping our eye on the ball and addressing what needs to get done in order to advance our ambitions. We may have a good template by which to progress and in a way that is appealing in our presentation. We might seem serious and no nonsense, and that would be the right attitude to take on this Thursday. Today and tomorrow allow us to accomplish a great deal, but we do have to be wary of distractions or trying to do too much. It’s important that we recognize that there are times to work hard, other times to play or loaf about. Astrology is all about ‘right’ timing. Today and tomorrow are best served by working both harder and smarter. We can enjoy our selves and the company of others over the weekend. Thursday and Friday are days to sprint in dealing with outstanding matters, advancing our interests, all the while that we are focused on the most significant issues to address.
Friday, October 25th – Calling All Angels – Venus, Pluto, Jupiter, Mercury, Moon Void-of-Course. If we have utilized this ‘get ‘er done’ attitude of the past two days, then we could find ourselves on a roll on this Friday, getting a great deal done and being shown appreciation and gratitude for what we have accomplished. The Moon continues its transit of Virgo with the Moon sextile Venus, the Moon trine Pluto, the Moon square Jupiter, and the Moon sextile Mercury. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for almost seven and a half hours as the Moon completes its transit of Virgo without connecting to any of the planets and before the Moon enters Libra later in the day. Venus sextiles Pluto. There are times in our earth life experience when earthly angels step forward, pat us on the back, and say ‘job well done’. This Friday can be one of those days. As if calling in invisible chits, we could find people coming forward and assisting us in realizing our goals. Connections with people today can be deep and gratifying. By getting a lot done today, extending ourselves without overextending, we might find the evening hours to open a weekend of fun enjoyment with our special someone or the special people in our life.
Saturday, October 26th – Social Engagements Without Commitments – Mars, Saturn. Saturday continues with the Libra Moon with the Moon conjunct Mars and the Moon square Saturn. We are also on the dark side of the Moon prior to tomorrow evening’s New Moon. Saturday can be a fun day when we choose to participate in unique events with someone else or other people. We are more interested in our future than our past, our unknown rather than our known, and feeling adventurous to step beyond the usual. This Saturday can provide us with adventures and a glimpse into what could be. If we are not hampered by our obligations or our sense of responsibility, then we can engage all sorts of possibilities. Not all of our prospects are likely to be realistic, but they don’t have to be. We are on the dark side of the Moon, the time before we set off on a new round of initiations, a time when we can dream our dreams without concern as to whether they are realistic or merely pipedreams. After all, these times of the paradigm shift do suggest the possibility of the seemingly impossible.
Sunday, October 27th – Skiing the Moguls – Pluto, Jupiter, Moon Void-of-Course, Scorpio New Moon, Sun, Uranus, Mars, Saturn. Sunday begins with the Libra Moon square Pluto, and the Moon sextile Jupiter. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for twelve hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon completes its transit of Libra and before the Moon enters Scorpio where late on Sunday the Moon conjuncts the Sun at the time of the Scorpio New Moon and the Moon opposes Uranus. While late Wednesday through Thursday may have been highly productive, Saturday and Sunday are geared to good times with good friends. We are on the dark side of the Moon so the time for enjoyment and laid back activities seem appropriate since it is only with the waxing Moon introduced by the New Moon that we get up and running over the next two weeks. This New Moon configuration has the Moon opposed Uranus. Mars also squares Saturn. The signature for the next two weeks calls for us to be astute, mindful, aware and cautious with eyes in the back of our head and on the sides of our head in anticipation of any unexpected incoming. While these times seem crazy-making at best, the next two weeks open wide the gates to the bizarre with wild antics and knee-jerk reactions. Let’s be careful out there, tip toe without stepping on toes, and avoid any incoming.
