September 30th – October 6th, 2019

The astrology for this week of September 30th through the 6th of October 2019 intensifies the emotions with many of our thoughts swayed by our feelings.

The week begins with our considering what we are done with and ready to be rid of. There’s a great intensity during this week, and we have to be wary that we don’t react impetuously without our giving thought to ramifications of our actions and the liability of unintended consequences. Everyone may be on edge, and it would be wise to smooth things over and ratchet down the intensity a notch or two or more.

Relationships might be part of the collateral damage this week, since we are more likely to be looking at flaws rather than attributes. Let’s not be precipitous in our judgments, our words or our actions. And that may be a tall order this week, especially mid-week.

Any simmering resentments early in the week can explode in hostile behavior towards the end of the week.

Thursday could prove to be one intense day. Mercury exits Libra to enter Scorpio, the Fixed Water Sign co-ruled by Pluto and Mars. Thursday is also the day when Pluto turns direct. Whenever Pluto changes direction, whether from direct motion to retrograde motion or from retrograde to direct, there is often a major release of energy. This release can be geophysical with earthquake and volcanic activity. It might also take the form of blasts of energy — explosions and bombings. It may even create an itch under our skin with a liability of our tongue being sharp and biting. If we can handle the energy, and these energy configurations are liable to be too hot to handle, this day could force us to consider whether we are truly engaging real purpose in our lives.

Friday has another Sign change, as Mars exits Virgo to enter Libra. As it does so, Mars ends the Earth Grand Trine by Sign that has gone on since Mars entered Virgo in mid-August. The Earth Grand Trine has supported practical application, productivity and the ability to achieve successful results with our mundane matters.

The weekend may find us dealing with errands and a good autumnal clear up and clean out. We might also experience the weekend to provide a brief reprieve from the intensity of these times and the wild emotional swings of this passing week.

Monday, September 30th – Inner Realignments – Uranus. The Moon enters Scorpio where today the Moon opposes Uranus. We may start the week holding our cards close to our chest. We might feel jealous and secretive, much of this feeling arising more from a sense of lack within ourselves. Our security could feel jumbled, and an unexpected situation arising can be like the straw that broke the camel’s back. Disruptions to our schedule, unanticipated expenses may be triggers that set us off with us choosing withdrawal rather than moving ahead. It’s important for us to keep in mind that these times challenge our old belief systems and our traditional structures. These times ask, really demand, that we be flexible and adaptable to changing circumstance. Even if we dispute the assertion, we truly never get more than we can handle. Volatility is ratcheted up severalfold this week, and it would be wise to keep in mind the Taoist advice: ‘bend like a reed or break like an oak’.

Tuesday, October 1st – Me and Me Alone – Saturn, Neptune, Pluto, Venus. Tuesday continues with the Scorpio Moon with the Moon today sextile both Saturn and Pluto both in Capricorn, and the Moon trine Neptune. Venus squares Pluto. Our tendency to withdraw and focus primarily on our own personal projects can be strong today. With nose-to-grindstone, we can accomplish a great deal, especially in regard to closures, completions, and resolutions. We may not be interested in collaboration today, might prefer to do things on our own terms. By going it alone, our progress may be like greased wheels as we knock out one thing after another. Relationships today can be a little dicey. Either we could, or someone else could, say the wrong thing, even unintentionally, that would make us question whether to continue the contact or not. We may be looking more at the flaws in other people rather than the attributes. Our sensitivity is strong today. Interactions with other people may have us in a reactive mode rather than a proactive stance. As a result, we might put ourselves in a victim frame of mind when by focusing more on our own activities and less on social engagements we could avoid some interpersonal hiccups.

Wednesday, October 2nd – Quiet Before the Storm – Mars. Although Wednesday is ‘hump day’ coming as it does in the middle of the work week, this Wednesday seems less like a crescendo and more like a brief respite. The Moon finishes its transit of Scorpio and the Moon sextiles Mars early in the day. The Moon then moves into Sagittarius, but the Moon makes no aspects today as the Moon starts its transit of Sagittarius. We may put finishing touches on certain projects, tie up loose ends, all with the hope that we can start up new activities as we come into the rest of this week. Yesterday might have been a highly productive day if we kept our head down and didn’t involve ourselves with any contentious situations. The beginning of this week may have had us withdrawing, focusing on what we needed to get done without a great deal of interference or participation in social activities. We might feel lighter, more upbeat as this Wednesday progresses. Instead of concentrating on getting rid of various matters that might have held our interest the past two days, we may be feeling ready to stretch, expand our involvements and move on with new projects. One of the things we have to be wary of during these tumultuous and disruptive times is not to act like a metronome where we go from one extreme to the other and back and forth, extreme to extreme. The volatility in the world right now is excessive and we need brief moments to stop, take a breath, and recharge our batteries before getting back into the foray.

Thursday, October 3rd – Pulling Up the Covers – Sun, Neptune, Jupiter, Pluto direct, Mercury Scorpio. Thursday continues with the Moon in Sagittarius with the Moon today sextile the Sun, the Moon square Neptune, and the Moon conjunct Jupiter. Pluto turns direct, and Mercury exits Libra to enter Scorpio. We might have gotten a second wind thanks to yesterday’s lighter and more optimistic input. And today could have us feeling confident and ready to take on the world. Where a problem could arise is the world that we are evaluating is a world in major change. Let’s be cognizant of the twists and turns that have occurred, even the subtle shifts, before launching forward on this Thursday.
We are in an expansive mood, less concerned about how our actions might impact anyone, but we may also be projecting both our conditions and our intended outcome. There can be blasts, explosions and major disruptions on this Thursday as Pluto turns direct. On a larger scale, these eruptions can be geophysical activity of earthquakes and volcanoes, or intense atmospheric storms, or people acting out violently. It is essential that as we move ahead today we be aware and mindful of changing circumstance. This is a day when we need to exercise extreme care. Even the slightest movement can unleash a torrent of consequences. Today is a day to go slow with constant check-ins as to shifting parameters as we move ahead.

Friday, October 4th – Getting a Grip – Venus, Moon Void-of-Course, Mars, Mercury, Mars Libra. Friday begins with the Sagittarius Moon sextile Venus. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for ten hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Sagittarius and before the Moon enters Capricorn. Mars exits Virgo and enters Libra bringing to an end the Earth Grand Trine by Sign that has gone on since mid-August. This Earth Grand Trine has given us the impetus to be productive, effective and able to successfully deal with the swirling tides of these changing times. We lose this grounded component with wild swings now more apparent. As the Moon moves into Capricorn, the Moon squares Mars and the Moon sextiles Mercury. This is a day for us to find balance between our personal interests and the input from other people. All of us are being asked to juggle ever more now than we have in years past. There is an acceleration going on, the pace of living picking up, and we need to maintain a semblance of equanimity to deal effectively with all that we are dealing with. If we don’t get caught up in the hurly-burly of these times or give too much weight to other people’s opinions, then we can balance out the pros and cons of any situation and come to a determined judgment of what is really going on, all with the recognition that during these times things can change dramatically in a nanosecond. Friday asks us to focus. We need to concentrate and weigh out those things for us to address, those things we need to eliminate, and those things that are mindless diversions. Planning in pencil with a large eraser is encouraged. Without the planning we can be swayed by other people and what appears to be going on, and can find ourselves running in circles.

Saturday, October 5th – Commitments Effectively Handled – Uranus, Sun, Saturn, Neptune. Saturday continues with the Capricorn Moon with the Moon today trine Uranus, the Moon square the Sun, the Moon conjunct Saturn, and the Moon sextile Neptune. Saturday might be errand day, the day we deal with the loose ends of our lives in order to tie them up and bring completion to certain matters. Although someone might suggest our doing something other than what we have planned for the day and no matter how enticing their ideas may be, today is better served by our completing certain tasks at hand. If we think strategically and employ time management skills, we could complete more today than we might have first imagined. While other activities may be far more fun and more enticing, this weekend is geared to a good clean up and clear out. By getting rid of the dross, we can focus on our priorities, the matters in our lives that are truly meaningful. Instead of grumbling about what we have to do, let’s be imaginative and discern the best, easiest and fastest ways to do what we need to do. We may not finish all our tasks and tie-ups today, but we might surprise ourselves to see how far we have come in getting rid of the extraneous and in clearing a path for new adventures.

Sunday, October 6th – Cleaning Up – Pluto, Venus. Sunday continues with the Capricorn Moon with the Moon today conjunct Pluto and the Moon square Venus. Late in the day, the Moon exits Capricorn to enter Aquarius. Yesterday and today are geared for a good autumnal cleanup. If yesterday we dealt with our obligations, tasks at hand and tying up certain matters better left behind, then this Sunday allows us to put the finishing touches on our clean up and clear out. Focusing on mundane matters and addressing pressing needs are not always fun, but it does allow us to clear space for the new and the different. As we deal with any specific details we might have glossed over earlier, we can appreciate a job well done. Someone might have wanted us to do something other than an autumnal cleaning this weekend, but there are times when we need to do what we have to do and other times for us to enjoy ourselves in the company of other people. First things first, and this weekend focuses on getting things out of the way in order for us to have more time with other people later on.
