August 5th – 11th, 2019

The astrology for this week of August 5th through the 11th of 2019 can provide us with moments of great delights and upbeat experiences that might be the best times of this summertime.

This is a week when we might be looking to fully embrace summertime activities. No matter what our mundane demands may be, we’re more interested in good times with good friends.

The week begins with us enjoying the company of other people. Plans may be made for a fun get-together and contemplation of plans for future endeavors. We might be called upon to help out someone.

Let’s just watch that we’re not overextending ourselves by taking on too much. Chores around our environment could prove costly with unexpected repairs or maintenance needed.

The mid-week through the latter part of the week into the weekend is a time for us to spread our wings. Feeling confident and enthusiastic, we might feel that far is not too far. Whether we get out of town or engage interesting new activities, we are likely to be in a highly expansive mood. Let’s just be wary of excess and indulgence as we pursue the good times of the summertime.

The early part of the weekend can continue with us flying high, feeling good, and engaging all sorts of possibilities.

We end the weekend with a flurry of activity on Sunday with Jupiter turning direct, Uranus turning retrograde, and Mercury exiting Cancer to enter Leo to strengthen the Fixed Fire Stellium as Mercury joins the Sun, Venus and Mars in Leo. Combined with Jupiter turning direct in its own Fire Sign of Sagittarius, these energy configurations are likely to ignite or stoke the fire in our belly.

Autumn may be approaching with the pull to get back on track of our mundane affairs, but there’s still a great deal of fire left in the summer season and we are likely to want to bask in the summer glow.

Monday, August 5th – Live for Today – Venus, Sun, Jupiter, Saturn, Pluto, Mars. The week begins with the Moon in Libra with the Moon sextile Jupiter and the Moon trine the three Leo-transiting planets of Venus, the Sun, and Mars. The Moon squares both Saturn and Pluto both in Capricorn. This is a day for us to fully enjoy ourselves. No matter the responsibilities that might be beckoning, today is better suited to good times with good friends. We can easily excuse any reluctance to deal with pressing demands with the justification that it’s summertime when the living should be easy. Back-to-school sales may be harkening the approach to autumn, but we could be unwilling to let the summer go and might choose instead to put our tasks on the back burner and engage instead flights of fancy. Whether we get out of town or travel in our imagination, we are likely to be in a ‘feel good’ attitude, enthusiastic, optimistic and upbeat, a contagious disposition shared by our mutual admiration society. We might not be Nero, but today we are liable to be okay fiddling while Rome could be burning.

Tuesday, August 6th – Guilt Ridden – Mercury, Moon Void-of-Course, Uranus. Tuesday has the Moon finishing its transit of Libra with a square to Mercury. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for eight hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon completes its transit of Libra and before the Moon enters Scorpio where late today the Moon opposes Uranus. There are times when we would prefer to get out of our own environment in order to avoid issues that are demanding our attention. This Tuesday could be one of those days. The sense of ‘nowhere to run to, nowhere to hide’ can plague us today as we are asked to address unintended slights or hurts we might have caused by being too obstreperous or self-absorbed. Maybe we were ‘shooting from the lip’ and said some things without taking into account unintended consequences. If we have to make amends to someone today, let’s do so without flagellating ourselves by overdoing our guilt. This Tuesday may have us spending too much and possibly with some of the expenses being needless gestures to excuse our mea culpa. If we have screwed up as a result of knee-jerk reactions, we can acknowledge our mistakes, learn from the incident and move on from the matter.

Wednesday, August 7th – Excess, Indulgence, All in the Name of Summer – Venus, Sun, Saturn, Neptune, Jupiter. Wednesday starts a three-day cycle of going for the gold with the likelihood of spending a great deal of gold. The Scorpio Moon today squares both Venus and the Sun both in Leo, the Moon sextiles Saturn, and the Moon trines Neptune. The Sun trines Jupiter. The liability of excess and indulgence over this three-day period is caused by a heavy dose of Jupiter and our ‘feel good’ attitude whereby we are willing to spend on all sorts of purchases to add fuel to our exuberance and enthusiasm. These three days may find us in a highly expansive frame of mind. Nothing is too good for us, for we are considering immediate gratification more than the costs ratcheting up on our credit card balance. Our justification could come in various forms from the idea that it’s summer and we can spend money either to participate in fun activities as we move towards the end of summertime or to purchase necessary items for our impending autumn. If we keep track of our expenditures, we might avoid digging ourselves a larger hole in our financial debts. These three days advise us to keep in mind the concept that sometimes ‘the best things in life are free’. We don’t always have to spend too much to warrant our having a good time, but a good time is certainly in the cards, at least most certainly in our stars.

Thursday, August 8th – All This and More – Pluto, Mars, Mercury, Moon Void-of-Course, Venus, Jupiter. Thursday completes the Moon’s transit of Scorpio with the Moon sextile Pluto, the Moon square Mars, and the Moon trine Mercury before the Moon goes Void-of-Course for six and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Scorpio and before the Moon enters Jupiter-ruled Sagittarius later in the day. The two ‘good guys’ of the planetary realm, Venus and Jupiter, are in trine. Impetuous actions today could prove costly. Impulse purchases with the justification of ‘I want it now’ can be expensive. If we would plan our budget, prioritize our schedule and figure out the truly necessary involvements, we could save ourselves a great deal of grief. Yesterday, today, and tomorrow might have us feeling confident, upbeat and exuberant, and at the same time going out on a limb assuming that everything will work in our favor. Attitude is an important factor in how things work out, but irrational exuberance could prove as dangerous as downright despair. Let’s try and keep a rein on our perspective and not merely see things through rose-colored glasses. We can have great fun and enjoy ourselves, but it would be wise for us to be mindful, aware, and attentive to the true reality of what is going on.

Friday, August 9th – One More Time – Jupiter, Venus. The enticing feelings of accentuated Venus and Jupiter influence we may have felt over the past two days crescendos on this Friday. We’ve been under the favorable Venus and Jupiter influences since Wednesday, and today is little different. This Friday continues with the Moon’s transit of Jupiter-ruled Sagittarius with the Moon today conjunct Jupiter and the Moon trine Venus. We maintain an expansive and optimistic disposition. If this week allowed us to get away, travel and spread our wings, it has been a good week to do so. Even if we are staying in our normal circumstances, then we might have felt a happy glow about things. The key to these days is to modulate our sense of enthusiasm and exuberance. The only vice to being upbeat and optimistic is the too muches. We could easily take on too much, spend too much, indulge too much. Let’s enjoy ourselves but keep track of our expenditures. If we would prioritize our activities and focus on what would give us the most ‘bang’ for our buck, we could temper our desires.

Saturday, August 10th – It Ain’t Over ‘Til – Sun, Neptune, Mars, Moon Void-of-Course. Saturday continues with the Sagittarius Moon with the Moon today trine both the Sun and Mars, and the Moon square Neptune. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for nine hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Sagittarius and before the Moon enters Capricorn early on Sunday morning. The great baseball player and street philosopher Yogi Berra made various awe-inspiring comments, one of which was ‘It ain’t over ‘til it’s over’. That comment could sum up this Saturday, for the strong Jupiter influence of the past three days trickles on during this Saturday with the Moon transiting Jupiter-ruled Sagittarius. And tomorrow Jupiter will punctuate the week with Jupiter turning from retrograde to direct motion. What an expansive, even over-the-top, week we may have been experiencing. Today is geared for more fun, more travel plans, more embracing the summertime events. In the process, we may forget, or neglect, some of our household responsibilities. Over the past few days and including this Saturday, we are geared more to spreading our wings and enjoying ourselves. Even if we have been back at our usual activities or preparing for our impending autumn schedule, we are likely to have fully engaged some good times this week. Like a child at a carnival, we could have been all over the place this week, exploring, engaging, and to the point of wearing ourselves down. Like the tidal actions with its ebb and flow, we might have been in the flow for much of this week. And like the tidal actions, there will come a time for an ebbing of our excitement and enjoyments as we return to being more serious about our life.

Sunday, August 11th – Twists and Turns – Uranus, Mercury Leo, Jupiter direct, Uranus retrograde. Sunday has the Moon moving into Capricorn where today the Moon trines Uranus. The main elements to this Sunday are the shift in direction of two planets and a Sign shift for a third. Jupiter ends its four-month retrograde cycle to turn direct, reinforcing its transit of Sagittarius, a Sign that Jupiter rules. Uranus turns retrograde for its retrograde cycle through the rest of the year. And Mercury exits Cancer to re-enter Leo, adding a fourth planet to the Leo Stellium as Mercury joins the Sun, Venus and Mars in the Fixed Fire Sign. This sense of twist and turn on this Sunday seems appropriate with the energy shifts and also with the recognition that the height of the summer is upon us while the impending autumn may unofficially begin next week with school openings, orientations and a thrust to getting back into a familiar, or a new, routine. We may feel that we’re on a balance beam bridging the summertime activities with our normal regimen. The question of balance is everything, and this day allows us to think outside the box as to how best to attend to our differing pulls. Sunday allows us to streamline operations and be more effective with less expenditure of energy. If we have become skilled at adaptability, then we could certainly have it all today — both enjoying ourselves in the games of summer and also dealing with necessary matters associated with our usual involvements. No need for us to have a singular focus today, especially in light of these times calling for us to juggle any number of situations without letting any one drop and for us to utilize time in a qualitative manner than merely a quantitative measure. These times call for us to play the xylophone rather than do the one-note Samba.
