August 19th – 25th, 2019

The astrology for this week of August 19th through the 25th of 2019 has us increasingly shifting our focus back to our usual everyday experiences.

Summer is winding down, and we are in process of getting back on track, dealing with the specific details of our usual lifestyle.

I suggested in last week’s post that Friday had my least favorite aspect for travel — Mercury square Uranus. As I wrote for this past Friday: “Whenever making travel plans and especially with air flights, I try to avoid days when Mercury square Uranus is operational… We could also have difficulties with all sorts of transmissions — our communication, our Internet, and our movement from place to place.”

My cautionary words were given evidence by U.S. customs and Border Protections computers going down on Friday, snarling international arrivals and causing long lines at airports for travelers trying to enter the country.

This week though begins on a high note. We’re ready to launch new projects, put our personal mark on our activities, and feeling good about the future. The present and the past might have had some downers, but we’re unwilling to go there, no matter the pulls from our past. We can be upbeat and looking at a new chapter of our life to begin.

The first half of this week may have us concentrating on our own interests, seeking breaks from our activities to enjoy brief respites in the closing days of summertime and feeling fairly good about life in general.

This past Sunday, Mars entered Virgo and in so doing created a Grand Trine by Sign in the Earth Element with Mars in Virgo, Uranus in Taurus, and both Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn.
The mid-week through the end of the week has two major Sign changes and a significant shift in the tenor of these times. Venus exits Leo and enters Virgo on Wednesday thereby ending the Stellium in Leo.

On Friday, the Sun exits Leo to enter Virgo triggering a Stellium in the Earth Mutable Sign as the Sun joins Venus and Mars in Virgo. The impact of this Virgo Stellium will be ever more increased next week as Mercury enters its own Sign of Virgo.

Virgo is being emphasized and the Earth Grand Trine is being accentuated. We are moving into a time when we may get more serious, concentrate on achieving our goals and without allowing any specific detail to go unattended.

We shall be under the influence of the Earth Grand Trine through the first week of October. This period is a time for us to ‘make hay while the sun shines’.

We can be highly accomplished with nose-to-grindstone but also keeping our goals ever-present in mind.

The weekend can have us all over the place. It would be wise not to take on more than we can handle. Let’s lower our expectations and surprise ourselves by how much we can achieve through time management and prioritization of our activities.

Monday, August 19th – Break Out – Saturn, Lunar Grand Trine, Mercury, Jupiter. The Moon continues its transit of Aries with the Moon square Saturn. The Aries Moon also triggers a Fire Grand Trine with the Moon trine Mercury in Leo and the Moon trine Jupiter in Sagittarius. This Monday to begin the week can be an expansive day, a day when we are likely to feel highly creative, confident, and looking to start new projects. Unresolved matters might be nagging at us but needn’t trip us up. If we take care of our routine matters, we may have ample time to devote to new projects. Our interest could be more with the new and the different, those activities that truly speak to us, but it is important that we not neglect our responsibilities. There are times when we need to go back in order to move forward. The pulls on Monday and Tuesday of our obligations could slow us down, divert us briefly, but there is no reason for them to stop our moving forward in exciting new directions.

Tuesday, August 20th – Taking Care of Business – Pluto, Sun. Tuesday continues with the Aries Moon with the Moon today square Pluto and the Moon trine the Sun. Tuesday continues in the same vein as yesterday with a push pull between enjoying ourselves and dealing with our tasks. If we try to color outside the lines today, then we could get slapped back. This day may require us to address certain matters and deal with them in accord with the parameters presented to us rather than the conditions we might prefer. Yesterday and today call for us to deal with our regular responsibilities without dropping the ball but to also engage our creativity, stretch beyond our normal limitations, and explore a wide real of possibilities, whether we can participate in our possibilities or just consider them for a future time. While we are all in process of getting back into a normal routine after being missing in action with some of our summer antics, we don’t have to get overly serious. The more we can see our ‘work’ as ‘play’, the more we can enjoy our day-in, day-out life experience with occasional times of stepping off the track. Astrology is all about timing and cycles. The summer may be winding down, but we can feel refreshed and reinvigorated by the summer sun and ready to forge ahead with our goals and ambitions.

Wednesday, August 21st – All Things Possible, Even the Seemingly Impossible – Venus, Mars, Uranus, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus Virgo. The Moon finishes its transit of Aries with the Moon trine Venus early on Wednesday morning. The Moon then goes into Taurus where today the Moon trines Mars, and the Moon conjuncts Uranus. Mercury trines Jupiter. Venus exits Leo to enter Virgo thereby ending the Stellium of three planets in the Fixed Fire Sign. We are likely to be in good spirits today, feeling optimistic about our prospects and ready to put our spirit into action. This is a day when anything seems possible, even the impossible. We might experience or witness a mini-miracle, one of those things that we assume just cannot happen but actually occurs. Let’s keep in mind that intention is the first step in developing our projects. We might not know the exact means to achieve our goals, and we may not need to. Not only do projects have an unfolding all their own. We are also in a paradigm shift where things can occur in a most unexpected manner, a taste of magic of these times. If we would keep our antennae up, work with peripheral vision, and be open to receive, some thrilling situations could arise. It’s important that we not get stuck, or stick ourselves, to same old, same old. As the saying goes: ‘what we can believe, we can conceive’. Wednesday is a ‘feel good’ day when our enthusiasm and due diligence and willingness to try new methods can be a winning approach.

Thursday, August 22nd – Come Together – Saturn, Mercury, Neptune, Pluto, Moon Void-of-Course. The Moon continues its transit of Taurus on this Thursday with the Moon trine both Saturn and Pluto, the Moon square Mercury, and the Moon sextile Neptune. Later in the day, the Moon goes Void-of-Course for seventeen hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Taurus and before the Moon enters Gemini on Friday. If we can avoid being a little too full of ourselves and too much for some people, then this day can be a highly productive day and a one-eighty compared to Monday and Tuesday when we might have groused about our responsibilities impinging upon our personal interests. Although our inclination on this Thursday might be to gloss over significant details and negate certain opportunities in order to concentrate on matters far afield, this Thursday allows us to be highly productive, able to deal with specific details and all the while presenting ourselves in a competent and compelling manner. Our intuitive sense may be heightened today with a feeling as to what goes where and how. This is one of those days when we don’t have to push too hard to accomplish successful results. On the contrary, our pushing too hard and our meddling in the unfolding process might create a push back defeating the ease of achievement today. Let’s be part of the solution today, not be the cause of our problems.

Friday, August 23rd – Get on With It – Moon Void-of-Course, Sun, Venus, Mars, Sun Virgo. Friday has a major shift in energy. The Sun exits Leo to enter Virgo. As it does so, the Sun creates a Stellium in the Mutable Earth Sign as the Sun joins Venus and Mars in Virgo. The energy is shifting away from summertime fun activities into our more usual routine. We may not want to let the summer go or let go of our re-creational activities for that matter. Like a metronome, we could be swinging back and forth on this Friday from doing one thing then another, then something else, and the swings can be between fun events and mundane tasks. Apart from the day beginning with the Sun moving into Virgo, we begin the day with the Taurus Moon Void-of-Course. There is not a great deal of energy as we start the day. We might be stewing in our own juices as if ‘waiting for Godot’. As the day moves forward, the energy ratchets up significantly, and begins a two-day volley of frenzied activity. With the Moon entering Gemini, the Gemini Moon squares the three Virgo-transiting planets of the Sun, Venus, and Mars. We could feel as though we have so much to do and so little time in which to do it. While we could be on overwhelm to the point of doing things halfheartedly and in a half-assed manner, it would be wise for us to get a grip, slow things down, and do one thing at a time competently and effectively. If we try to do too much or try to do too many things, we might just wind up in creating a major mess for ourselves today and tomorrow.

Saturday, August 24th – Run Around – Lunar T-Square, Jupiter, Neptune, Venus, Mars. Saturday continues with the Gemini Moon with the Moon today triggering a Mutable Sign T-Square as the Moon opposes Jupiter and the Moon squares Neptune. Venus conjuncts Mars. Friday and Saturday are two days when it would be important for us to apply braking action to our movements, for otherwise we could be like a runaway train. We may feel as though we have a lot on our plate and willing to add ever more to our ‘to do’ list. It would be wise for us to plan out this day. If we don’t strategize before heading out, we could find ourselves running around and accomplishing little. Time management skills and prioritizing our schedule for the day would be ways to keep a grip on today’s energies. Collaboration may be called for and might help in lightening our load. By streamlining our method, we can be more effective with less expenditure of energy. No matter what we participate in on this Saturday, Friday and Saturday could leave us totally exhausted by the end of the day.

Sunday, August 25th – Rest, Please – Mercury, Moon Void-of-Course, Sun. Late Saturday, early Sunday, the Gemini Moon sextiles Mercury. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for fourteen hours and for much of this Sunday with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Gemini and before the Moon enters Cancer late in the day. The Cancer Moon sextiles the Sun to close out this Sunday. After two fairly hectic, even frenzied, days, Sunday calls for a ‘time out’. We don’t have to stay in bed with the covers pulled up over our head all day, but we might determine that the push – pulls of getting back on track while trying to grasp the dying embers of summer activities may have proven too much for us. This Sunday offers us a day of rest. Please! We may choose to do something different today, explore our possibilities without feeling the need to commit to anything or push ourselves. This Sunday might be a day when we just allow ourselves to do whatever and whichever the way the wind blows. Not too much exertion for us today. We just want to take our time and enjoy ourselves. No need to be stagnant in order to recharge our batteries but recharging, renewing and reinvigorating could be the undercurrent of our Sunday.
