The astrology for this week of July 8th through the 14th of 2019 has us in the first full week of the three-week Mercury retrograde cycle and you know what that means: Murphy’s Law is in effect with ‘whatever can go wrong could go wrong’.
This past week saw significant earthquake activity in California. From mid-May through mid-August we have planets transiting Cancer in opposition to the Saturn and Pluto transiting Capricorn. The push – pull between home, family and obligations can be strong, but so too can geophysical phenomena. It’s all about structures and releasing strains on those structures. Already, we have seen increased geophysical activity with the explosive eruption of Stromboli in Italy on July 3rd, an increased alert level for Hawaii’s Mauna Loa, earthquake activity in Chile and in New Zealand and the earthquakes in California. The two major areas of geophysical activity, the Pacific’s Ring of Fire and the Alpide Belt, both seem active with volcanic activity and earthquakes and may continue to do so through mid-August. The Full Moon, a Lunar Eclipse, on the 16th with its strong gravitational pulls could trigger more geophysical activity.
The week starts off pleasantly enough. We may be attentive to putting our best foot forward in order to impress. Our style both in appearance and in presentation can be beguiling. We could have some surprising encounters as though we are a magnet to the thrilling and the exciting.
Too much of a good thing can trigger problems for us with the mid-week period warning us that ‘if we dance to the music, we must pay to the piper’.
Any indulgences, excess or over-optimism to begin the week may have a nasty snapback during the mid-week period. We have to be wary that we are not pushing our agenda, being too forceful, all under the assumption that we can do no wrong.
From the magic of possible serendipitous occurrences to start the week, we could get hammered by our obligations and by our racing forward without accounting for the parameters of circumstances and conditions. Blithely going along may have us making certain missteps that can have grave costly consequences.
Since it’s summer, we might far prefer to have our head in the clouds without keeping our feet solidly on the ground.
The end of the week and the weekend seem more upbeat. We may feel that we have dodged a bullet, if we did not injure ourselves by rash actions during the week.
The weekend is a fine time for recreational pursuits, creative ventures and travel out of town. Much of the weekend could have us embracing the ‘lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer’.
Monday, July 8th – These Magic Moments – Mars, Mercury, Venus, Uranus. Monday begins the week with the Moon entering Libra where today the Libra Moon sextiles Mars, the Moon sextiles Mercury, and the Moon squares Venus. Venus sextiles Uranus, and Mercury conjuncts Mars. This Monday may be a highly active day, a day when we engage other people and give the impression of having our ‘stuff’ together. We can be dramatic without being overbearing. We seem to have style and presence with the ability of winning other people to our side. Let’s remember that Mercury has just turned retrograde on Sunday evening. While we may be passionate about what we wish to communicate, we also have to be certain that our thrust of energy doesn’t have us either tongue-tied or a little overbearing in our presentation. Some interesting incidents might occur on this Monday, so it’s important for us to keep our antennae up and be open to receive some exciting, even startling, news.
Tuesday, July 9th – The Good Can Be Overwhelming – Jupiter, Lunar T-Square, Sun, Saturn, Pluto, Moon Void-of-Course. Whatever magic moments or mini-miracles that might have occurred yesterday can grease the wheels of our sense that ‘all is right in the world’ as we start the day with the Libra Moon sextile Jupiter. Our ‘feel good’ attitude may not last, for the Moon then triggers a Cardinal Sign T-Square with the Libra Moon square the Sun in Cancer, and the Moon square both Saturn and Pluto both in Capricorn. The Sun opposes Saturn. Whether we encountered a serendipitous connection yesterday or are just more appreciative and consequently more accommodating of someone else, we might choose to put more focus today on someone else’s needs than our own. And therein could lie a problem. While we can be gracious and considerate today, we have to be wary that in helping someone we’re not involving ourselves in a bottomless pit where enough assistance is never enough and demands ever more of our time and resources. Balance is required today — helping someone out is fine so long as it is not in detriment to our own pursuits. Tuesday can have us attending to any number of matters, and demands could be made upon us. If we try to do too much, we could find ourselves on overwhelm, exhausted and resentful. Balance is called for with an equal level of give and take. Later in the day, the Moon goes Void-of-Course for almost fourteen hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Libra and before the Moon enters Scorpio early on Wednesday. The energy is strongest earlier in the day and dissipates later in the day.
Wednesday, July 10th – At What Cost – Lunar T-Square, Mercury, Mars, Uranus, Venus. Wednesday has the Moon moving into Scorpio where today the Scorpio Moon triggers a Fixed Sign T-Square with the Moon square both Mercury and Mars both in Leo and the Moon opposed Uranus in Taurus. We end the day in the evening hours with the Moon trine Venus. Wednesday is one of those days when we might feel like Sisyphus rolling the boulder up the mountain only to have it fall back. Wednesday could prove one frustrating day. Whatever our plans for this day might be, there can be unexpected issues that crop up. This is a day for us to put nose to grindstone, not try and hurry anything, but take things step by step. Before we start the day we might choose to strategize our day, prioritizing truly important matters with the understanding that things might take longer than anticipated. It would be wise for us to consider the costs of our intended involvements today, costs in time, energy and resources. We might not enjoy all the matters that are presented to us today, but it would be suggested that we just grin and bear them, rid ourselves of the extraneous, and realize that every step forward is a closer step to completion. Evening hours call for relaxation, whether we chose to stay at home or go out for a leisurely dinner.
Thursday, July 11th – Super Being in Mind, Klutz in Action – Saturn, Neptune, Sun, Pluto, Moon Void-of-Course, Mars, Uranus. Thursday is one of those days when we might feel that we have everything lined up and able to execute our plans without a hitch. The Scorpio Moon today trines Neptune, the Moon trines the Sun and the Moon sextiles Pluto. The Sun trines Neptune, and Mars squares Uranus. Having a ‘can do’ disposition is a first step to successful accomplishment. The second step is often putting plans into action. We might have the first step well conceived but the actual implementation could be haphazard. With a desire to move things along, we could be hasty in our actions with a liability to accidents. If we would maintain awareness, be mindful, and slow things down, we might avoid needless accidents. This is a day not to rush things and to be careful around machines and equipment. We need to be cautious today and rein in our gusto to get things done in a hurry. Late in the day, the Moon goes Void-of-Course for fourteen and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Scorpio and before the Moon enters Sagittarius on Friday.
Friday, July 12th – Wide World of Possibilities – Moon Void-of-Course, Mercury. Hopefully, we weren’t careless yesterday and avoided a world of hurt for ourselves. Friday starts slowly with the Moon Void-of-Course as the Moon finishes its transit of Scorpio without making any connections to the planets and before the Moon enters Sagittarius where later in the day the Sagittarius Moon trines Mercury. We may be slow starting as we begin this Friday. We might be more interested in getting rid of certain matters in order to clear the decks prior to the weekend. If we made a mess of things yesterday by being a klutz or not considering the consequences of our actions and created quite a conundrum for ourselves, Friday morning is a time for us to clean up our mess, get rid of the garbage, and tidy around our environment. As the day progresses, we may be feeling more inspired and desirous of spreading our wings. Even if we stay put, our thoughts can be upbeat and far away. We are more interested in foreign intrigue, things beyond our normal realm of experience. We can give thought to a wide world of possibilities with the recognition that all things are possible.
Saturday, July 13th – Off on a Lark – Mars, Jupiter, Neptune, Moon Void-of-Course. Saturday continues with the Moon in Sagittarius with the Moon today trine Mars, the Moon conjunct Jupiter, and the Moon square Neptune. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for twenty-one and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon completes its transit of Sagittarius and before the Moon enters Capricorn late on Sunday evening. We could be high flying on this Saturday, looking for adventures that thrill and excite us. We are likely to feel pumped and interested in outlets that give full rein to our energy. Whether recreational pursuits or creative outlets, we want to enjoy the summer games that allow us to show off our individual talents and prowess. Nothing may be too much for us on this Saturday. We can be full steam ahead, exerting ourselves without modulating our activity. This is a day when we might go for the gold, but with a liability of burning ourselves out by the end of the day. While we have a great thrust of energy today, let’s use it for pure enjoyment and engaging the greatest avenues of adventure without doing too much or dissipating our energy on irrelevant activities. This Saturday is truly a day to embrace the ‘lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer’ but without getting too crazy in our involvements.
Sunday, July 14th – Behind the Eight Ball – Moon Void-of-Course, Sun, Pluto. Sunday continues with the Sagittarius Moon Void-of-Course with the Moon making no connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Sagittarius and before the Moon enters Capricorn late in the day. The Sun opposes Pluto. The Moon’s lack of connections to the planets today indicates a lack of effective energy in getting things done with our external involvements. Not that the lack of lunar energy is all there is on this Sunday. On the contrary, we have one powerful energy configuration operating but an energy that might be more internal than externalized. The Sun opposes Pluto. An explosive and eruptive energy to contend with, we might feel as though we have an itch under our skin. A sense of discomfort can be intense as we consider what we are doing and how we are doing it. This sense of itch can erupt at any time with us determining what we might want to eliminate in our life. This intensity could also trigger earthquakes or volcanic activity or severe atmospheric storm systems. But for us, on an individual level, we may be doing a great deal of soul searching and finding aspects of our life circumstance to be wanting. If we could get out of familiar surroundings today, we may better understand what we need to prioritize in our life and what we need to be rid of. One beauty of summer is the opportunity to take interludes from our regular lifestyle in order to reflect where we are, what we are doing and where we are intending to go. This Sunday can provide us with one of those interludes.
