The astrology for this week of March 18th through the 24th of 2019 tells us that Spring has sprung as we come to the Vernal Equinox and the astrological new year with the Sun ending its zodiac cycle by exiting Pisces and entering Aries.
The week may begin with us dithering about, tying up loose ends, dealing with the particulars. None of us can wait for springtime, even if we still have to deal with the last full week of this Mercury retrograde. We might have grand ambitions for our springtime, but it would be wise that we clear away debris that we do not want to encumber us as we move forward into the season of rebirth, renewal and new beginnings.
The first two days of the week may not have us fully energized. The more that we can keep our head down, attend to pressing matters and clean up our act, the better it would be. Putting one foot in front of the other without being distracted by tantalizing prospects could clear the slate in order to engage new and exciting activities as we come into Spring.
The mid-week period gives us the Vernal Equinox, the start of the Spring season as the Sun enters Aries. Not only can we have our motors running, but we are likely to have roadmap in hand and persistent determination to forge ahead with our greatest ambitions. We may feel that nothing can impede our progress, a sure sign of ‘Spring fever’ when we feel that the world is our oyster and that we have survived and not succumbed to a winter of discontent.
The mid-week also gives us the Libra Full Moon shortly after the Vernal Equinox. Although we are most interested in plowing ahead with our own goals and our own pursuits, we have to be wary that we don’t lose sight of what is going on with our closest associates. We might all be a little too self-absorbed, too self-involved even to the point of being narcissistic.
The latter part of the week could find us out on a buying spree, all with the justification of adding style and panache to our wardrobe and to our surroundings. What we need to avoid is any case of our one-upping each other, trying to outdo each other in giving a good impression, all with the end result of ratcheting up our credit card balances.
The end of the week and the weekend may be a time for closures, for bringing completion to certain matters. A spring cleaning might be in order with a recognition that as we go through articles and items of our past we are likely to open a Pandora’s box of intense emotions. The weekend can be a very deep and spiritual time, a time when we reflect on where we have been and also a time when we consider the true essence and significance in our living.
Monday, March 18th – Too Much on the Plate – Lunar T-Square, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Moon Void-of-Course, Uranus. Monday begins the week with the Moon completing its transit of Leo and in the process the Moon triggering a Fixed Sign T-Square with the Moon opposed Venus and the Moon square Mars in Taurus. The Moon trines Jupiter before the Moon goes Void-of-Course for almost ten and a half hours as the Moon finishes its transit of Leo without further connecting with any planets and before the Moon enters Virgo late in the day where tonight the Moon trines Uranus. Monday starts the week with us pushed and pulled in any number of directions with us being the conductor of our own mishegas. While we might want to address any number of matters today and doing so from a conceit of assuming that we can handle many situations and ever more, the one area that we may need to focus on is elimination and paring down rather than adding on and taking on more. We could start the day with a full head of steam only to find ourselves thwarted by our own overload. Things do not have to be hard, and it would be suggested that we concentrate on those situations that are easily dealt with and leave the more perplexing issues for a later time. Whatever our schedule could be for this Monday and for the week, we might choose to step away from the drudgery, even if only briefly, and enjoy a creative respite of our choosing. The interesting aspect of this day is the likelihood that the early part of the day could find us struggling to roll the boulder up the mountain, whereas late in the day we can winch the boulder without much effort — a reflection of ‘right timing’ where the exertion of stress and strain can be replaced by the ease of completion.
Tuesday, March 19th – Smooth Sailing on Stagnant Seas. Tuesday is the last full day of the winter season and the day before tomorrow’s Full Moon. The Moon continues its transit of Virgo but without making any connections to the planets today. If we had pushed ourselves against impenetrable forces yesterday and exhausted ourselves emotionally and physically in the process, only to discover late in the day that there were surprising ways to easily accomplish our tasks without stress or strain; this Tuesday allows a respite but one where we can accomplish a great deal, if we would take things step by step and have a checklist of what we choose to do. We might have had both an attitude adjustment and a shift in the ways we were doing things yesterday with the shift allowing us to be more streamlined and expeditious in our actions. Our arrogance could have given way to practical application, and the latter may be how we proceed on this Tuesday. Today is a great day to wind things up with the recognition that not only are we ending a month-cycle of the Sun transiting Pisces. We are also ending the astrological year with the Vernal Equinox tomorrow signaling the astrological New Year as the Sun enters the first Sign of the Zodiac wheel, Aries, and we enter the Spring season. Today is a day to bring completion to the old in preparation of springtime’s new.
Wednesday, March 20th – Happy New Year! – Lunar T-Square, Neptune, Mercury, Jupiter, Lunar Grand Trine, Saturn, Pluto, Mars, Moon Void-of-Course, Vernal Equinox, Sun Aries, Libra Full Moon, Sun. Talk about out with a bang! And in with glorious fireworks! Wednesday brings closure to the winter season and crosses the threshold into the spring season and the start of the astrological New Year. The day begins with the Virgo Moon creating a Mutable Sign T-Square with the Moon opposed both Mercury and Neptune both in Pisces and the Moon square Jupiter in Sagittarius. The Moon also triggers an Earth Grand Trine before we close out winter with the Virgo Moon trine both Saturn and Pluto both in Capricorn, and the Moon trine Mars in Taurus. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for over ten hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Virgo and before the Moon moves into Libra late in the day. Also today, Mars trines Pluto, and Mercury sextiles Saturn, and ALL this before the end of winter and the beginning of springtime later in the day as the Sun exits Pisces to enter Aries at the Vernal Equinox signaling the beginning of the Spring season. And if these multitudinous energy configurations are not enough, the day closes out with the Moon moving into Libra to trigger the Libra Full Moon with the Moon opposed the newly Aries-transiting Sun. We may be racing to the finish line with ever so much to address. Instead of getting caught up in a frenzy of activity, this is a day that calls for us to work smarter then harder. If we would plan out our day, then we can be like a bullet train and speed through any number of activities without dropping a stitch. As these energies also imprint the Spring season, this season can be an incredibly productive period, if we don’t burn ourselves out and if we would engage being more effective with less expenditure of energy. A highly energetic day that doesn’t have to be frantic and a great start to the astrological new year. Happy New Year!
Thursday, March 21st – With Me or Against Me – Venus, Mars, Jupiter. After the beginning of Spring yesterday and the heightened energies of the day increased by the Full Moon and creating a high energy imprint for the season ahead, Thursday may be a day for us to catch our breath. The Moon continues through Libra without making any connections to the planets today. Venus squares Mars and Venus trines Jupiter. Our relationships are accentuated today, but it would be important for us to maintain awareness and be astute as to what is going on with other people. This is a day when we might encounter both advocates and naysayers. This is also a day to engage what I often advise: ‘check the source and check their agenda’. There may be someone who wants to put the brakes on our activities, someone else who urges us to go ever further out on a limb. Between the two extremes lies the balance — not falling into irrational exuberance or not holding back out of fear but rather confidently moving forward drawing upon the encouragement and also the caution presented us. This is a day for wise exploration, of spreading our wings to view the realm of possibilities but not flying too close to the sun like Icarus. Engaging the sentiment of ‘moderation in all things’ would allow us to broaden our involvements in an attentive and concentrated manner.
Friday, March 22nd – Do As I Say Not As I Do – Saturn, Pluto, Jupiter, Venus, Moon Void-of-Course, Uranus. With the thrust of springtime upon us with its promise of new beginnings, start-ups and renewals, we can easily get carried away by adding ever more to our schedule of events. Today, the Libra Moon squares both Saturn and Pluto both in Capricorn, the Moon sextiles Jupiter, and the Moon trines Venus. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for over eight hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Libra and before the Moon moves into Scorpio where late today the Moon opposes Uranus. We are at the end of the work week, and we might feel our responsibilities to be overwhelming. While we would prefer to start the weekend early, we may have some obligations to address and complete. If we would utilize due diligence and just suck it up, we could attend to what needs to get done early in the day and use the mid-day on for a quick get-away or a leisurely lunch with a special someone. Let’s deal with mundane reality early, quickly, expeditiously in order to have the afternoon to begin the weekend. Late in the day, plans may change. Unexpected situations could crop up that demand additional expenditures. We might prefer some alone time rather than rowdy social encounters. Dramatic shifts, drastic changes and often without warning are part of the new paradigm. Unforeseen variables could make us aware of the truth to the old saying that ‘if you want to made god laugh, tell god your plans’.
Saturday, March 23rd – Spring Cleaning. The Moon continues its transit of Scorpio without making any connections to the planets today. This Saturday would be a good day for a Spring cleaning, going through our mounds of stuff, inventory taking and getting rid of the extraneous and storing away much of our winter apparel. The temperatures may not be quite right for full Spring regalia, but we are unlikely to want to be hampered by the winter doldrums. Clean up and clear out would be a tremendous use of this day. If scheduled commitments fall apart, this day would be a good day to transform our intentions from being out and about and instead enjoying quiet time to go through old stuff, all the while recognizing that in doing so we are liable to open a Pandora’s box of memories and emotions. Who knows where those will take us. We are likely to be feeling rather intense with the inner stirrings of our soul and our spirit impelling us to reflect on the deeper meanings of our lives.
Sunday, March 24th – Importance of Family and Home – Neptune, Mercury, Saturn, Pluto, Lunar T-Square, Mars, Venus. The Moon’s transit of Scorpio concludes on this Sunday late in the day. Before it exits Scorpio, the Moon today trines both Neptune and Mercury both in Pisces, the Moon sextiles both Saturn and Pluto both in Capricorn, and the Moon triggers a Fixed Sign T-Square with the Moon opposed Mars and the Moon square Venus. Mercury conjuncts Neptune. Yesterday did not have a great deal of energy and may have had us alone with our thoughts at different times of the day. And our thoughts might not have been so much the idle chatter but deep, soulful reflections. We start this Sunday in a similar manner. We may continue any Spring cleaning that we began yesterday, but we are also considering the difference between what is truly important in our lives and what are often seemingly needless distractions. This is a day when we can spend time with family and in our home. Even if we find ourselves alone, we may feel compelled to reach out by text, phone or email to some of the people we consider important to our lives. Often we get caught up in the hurly-burly of daily life and lose sight of the truly meaningful. Saturday and Sunday of this week provide the energy configurations for us to consider what is really important, rid ourselves of the superfluous, and focus on the significant and how we wish to proceed on our journey through this life. As we end the day and bring closure to the week, we could feel wired to get back onto the fast track of doing life.
