The astrology for this week of February 4th through the 10th of February 2019 could have us singing ‘happy days are here again’.
The week may be slow starting, especially in the US where people might be either a little hung over from the weekend’s festivities or spending time spouting their opinion on the Super Bowl game. But slow starting on this Monday can be all right since we are still on the dark side of the Moon prior to the Aquarius New Moon later in the day.
This New Moon in Aquarius is in the second decanate of Aquarius and consequently has a Gemini influence to it. This New Moon also celebrates the Chinese New Year of the Brown Earth Pig, the Pig being the last of the twelve Zodiac animals in Chinese astrology.
Our mind may be a flash flood of thoughts and ideas, many of which are likely focused on future possibilities and intended plans. We might squeal in delight as we project good times ahead for ourselves. Everything is easier in the abstract of concept, and there is little to mar our boundless enthusiasm.
The early part of the week could have us building up a head of steam as we consider our options and our alternatives, each one presumably better than the earlier one considered.
The mid-week may have us reflecting on a best practices approach to our endeavors. We are likely to consider those people with whom we would choose to collaborate, those people that can assist us in realizing our goals. The blend of strategy and determination can be the fire to expand our activities and broaden our scope.
This is a week when can consider our future engagements, those people with whom we are wishing to do the dance, and renew our confidence that we are on the right track, all the while that we are attentive to clues along the way that might shift or alter our trajectory.
Let’s focus on our personal journey, look to the distant horizon and not get waylaid by emotional tantrums of those who want things done for them rather than willing to do what needs to be done for themselves or get waylaid by the craziness of the antics in the world-at-large.
Monday, February 4th – After the Game, Let Our Games Begin – Aquarius New Moon, Sun, Jupiter. Monday has the Moon in Aquarius but much of the day is spent on the dark side of the Moon prior to the Aquarius New Moon later in the day. The Moon conjuncts the Sun at the Aquarius New Moon at the time of a Sun, Moon, Mercury conjunction in the Gemini decanate of Aquarius. The Moon sextiles Jupiter. Although this Monday and this week could be slow starting, we can tie up loose ends, bring things to completion and prepare for the starting gun to go off with the New Moon. This New Moon also triggers the Chinese New Year, this Chinese new year of 2019 being the year of the brown earth pig. We are at the end of the twelve-year, twelve-animal zodiac cycle in Chinese astrology, and we may find that 2019 is both an ending and a new beginning. We may reap what we have sown over the past twelve years, but there can also be a sense of a harvest period whereby we have the feeling that we have truly ‘paid our dues’. This day, this two-week period up to the Full Moon on the 19th, and this year may offer glimpses and opportunities of our future endeavors. We are looking to expand beyond our usual parameters, to do more and with greater autonomy than we might have done before. Now is a time for us to stretch, even if our stretching seems beyond our capabilities. Let’s keep in mind that during this paradigm shift we are no longer in total control of our destiny [as if we ever were!], but rather co-creators with the universe unfolding. If our instincts of expansion are correct, we shall be assisted in our efforts by the universe. If incorrect, then the universe will make us aware of our wrong trajectory, and we can correct and reformulate.
Tuesday, February 5th – All Options Considered – Mercury, Mars, Uranus. Tuesday continues with the Aquarius Moon with the Moon today conjunct Mercury and the Moon sextile both Mars and Uranus both in Aries. Building upon late yesterday’s Aquarius New Moon, this Tuesday is a day when we can move ahead with new projects while honing our collaborative associations and also considering various alternatives by which to get from idea into implementation, execution and final realization. Someone’s advice can help us define or redefine some of our future goals. We are likely to feel upbeat and inspired, but sometimes we need a hand on the brakes to slow us down. Someone today could be a sound brake handler for us. Let’s not assume that a critique of our ideas is a criticism but rather an opportunity for us to see our intentions from an objective perspective, a more detached view of what we might be considering. This is a good day to float ideas with other people but to be also realistic about what we can and what we cannot do based upon our resources of time, energy and monies and other engagements.
Wednesday, February 6th – Take Five – Venus. ‘Take five’ is a phrase that has been used for years to take a break from work or to relax from what one has been doing. Take Five is also the title of a classic jazz song composed by Paul Desmond for the Dave Brubeck Quartet, and considered their signature song, and a great song it is: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vmDDOFXSgAs]. This Wednesday is a day when we might choose to ‘take five’, to relax and take the time to contemplate what we are doing and where we are going. The Moon in Pisces sextiles Venus today. There is not a great deal of energy today and certainly not compared to the past few days or to tomorrow. This Wednesday is a good day for us to spend time in reverie — contemplating, reflecting, considering. We might choose to touch base with an old friend, take a walk down Memory Lane, or fulfill outstanding obligations to someone. It would also be a good day for us to draw upon our intuitive sense to consider how best to present any proposals or develop our projects in a tasteful and well-appointed manner. Quiet times can be invigorating, and this Wednesday could be one of those days. It may be ‘hump day’, but it can also be a day when we step off the track and take a ‘mental health’ day.
Thursday, February 7th – Ramping Up – Neptune, Saturn, Jupiter, Pluto, Moon Void-of-Course, Sun, Mercury, Mars. After yesterday when we might have toned things down, taken our time, and enjoyed some quiet space; Thursday can have the energy ramping up and us with it. The Moon continues its transit of Pisces with the Moon today conjunct Neptune, the Moon sextile both Saturn and Pluto both in Capricorn, and the Moon square Jupiter. Late in the day, the Moon goes Void-of-Course for over sixteen hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Pisces and before the Moon enters Aries on Friday morning. The Sun sextiles Jupiter, and Mercury sextiles Mars. We may feel divinely guided today, inspired, confident and with the ability of neatly blending brain and brawn. It would be wise to take first things first, and the first thing for us to do is to visualize what we intend for the day and how best to go about it. If we have schedule and itinerary in hand or at least in mind, then we can move ahead assertively and with a contagious optimism that can win even the most skeptical to our side. What we need to avoid is trying to do too much, taking on too much, or being too much. Narcissism and arrogance could provoke a pushback, perhaps not immediately but liable over the next few days. This is a day of winning by creating win-win situations for all concerned.
Friday, February 8th – Biding Time – Venus. The Moon exits Pisces and enters Aries in the morning hours. Late in the day, the Aries Moon squares Venus. This is a day when we might choose to do whatever we wish to do, no matter our schedule or our responsibilities. We could be flying high from yesterday’s energies with a greater thrust of fire and determination to do our own thing. Yesterday, we could have had a sense that we were divinely guided or otherworldly inspired. Today, we are looking to put our mark and imprint on our projects with an eye to new developments. Although we feel a thrust of new energy, we have to be wary that we’re not stuck in neutral, gunning the engine, and just spinning our wheels. As the day progresses, we could have an interaction with someone that might seem like a tug-of-war. If we have a social obligation for the evening hours, let’s make the most of it, grin and bear it even if we would prefer to be somewhere else. Let’s not provoke disagreements or arguments, for our ‘feel good’ disposition of the last few days could be dampened by someone’s criticism or their expectations.
Saturday, February 9th – Deal with the Old, Embrace the New – Saturn, Jupiter, Mercury, Uranus. Saturday is often a day when we deal with errands and those mundane matters that we just don’t have time to address during the weekdays. Our ‘to do’ list could be much of our focus on this Saturday. The interesting thing about Friday through Sunday of this week is a liability of our champing at the bit and wanting to do anything other than what we have scheduled. We may feel as though our responsibilities are impinging upon our time, our creativity and things that could arise out of the blue that we would far prefer to engage. And yet, what we have to do could be beckoning us and demanding some of our time over this weekend. The key word is ‘some’, not all, some. The Aries Moon today squares Saturn and the Moon trines Jupiter. Mercury sextiles Uranus. Although we may have responsibilities to attend to, there could also be some surprising developments and new intrigues that grab our attention. The question of balance is a key one in life, and especially on this Saturday. Let’s address our obligations expeditiously and without grousing, so that we have the time and energy to participate in far more enjoyable activities as the day goes on. We could also come up with some brilliant ideas both to streamline our routine tasks and also to consider some far out possibilities for ourselves.
Sunday, February 10th – Ending on a High Note – Sun, Pluto, Mars, Uranus, Mercury, Mercury Pisces. The Moon finishes its transit of Aries today with the Moon sextile the Sun, the Moon square Pluto, and the Moon conjunct both Mars and Uranus. Late in the day, the Moon exits Aries to enter Taurus where in the evening hours the Moon sextiles Mercury, which earlier in the day had Mercury exit Aquarius to enter Pisces, a Sign where Mercury is in Detriment and not comfortable, for the mind becomes more diffuse and easily scattered. The imagination can be strong, the clarity liable to be weak. We may still have some duties to address on this Sunday. The push-pull between obligations and free wheeling seems a large part of this weekend. Whatever we are committed to, let’s do it. Some of what we want to do might not fit into our normal parameters. But if we deal with our commitments, we might also discover unexpected situations arising that make us aware that our life is NOT all about just putting one foot in front of the other. There can be some startling and exciting surprises that sparkle our lives. This weekend seems to deal with our ‘normal’ life engagements and with a sprinkling of fantastic serendipitous encounters. We can end this week and the weekend on a high note with an embrace of a grateful attitude of the ‘wonder of it all’.
