The astrology for this week of February 18th through the 24th of 2019 can be a mystical, emotional time when we could blend both foresight and practical application to be highly effective, so long as we don’t get caught in a maelstrom of wild mood swings.
The week begins with a push pull between old and new. We are entering the last of the Zodiac cycle Signs, Pisces, a month away from the astrological new year at the time of the Vernal Equinox and the Sun moving into Aries to herald the Spring season.
The Sign change of the Sun moving out of Aquarius and moving into Pisces is followed quickly early in the week with the Virgo Full Moon, a Supermoon, and a time when the tides are extremely high, including our own emotional tides. The liability of playing the martyr – savior scenario could be overwhelming. Either we might feel persecuted or we may have the sense that our being the caretaker and rescuer is either ineffective or underappreciated.
Let’s try to keep our emotions in check. Otherwise we could be on a wild ride of ups and downs, delusions and confusions, misdirections and misunderstandings. We all need to keep a tight rein on our moods and our emotions. The heart might lead, but the pathway may be a brambled path if we disconnect from critical thinking and engage an unwillingness to allow things to develop before evaluating them. The rush to judgment with various misperceptions, smoke and mirrors, and intentional deceptions seem a common occurrence in today’s world. Let’s try to avoid stepping in it by letting things unfold before determining our opinion.
The mid-week period can be highly productive. We have to avoid needless distractions, have our blueprints in hand and keep our head down, taking things step by step, piece by piece.
The end of the week could have our plans determined more by someone else rather than our own personal wishes. We may have certain commitments to oblige, and we have to be wary that we neither try to do too much with the consequence of doing a shoddy job at whatever we take on nor that we create discord in our relationships due to the push pull of conflicting interests.
The weekend would be a time for a ‘time out’, time to take just for ourselves, clear out some of the various projects hanging over us, and clean up our space to provide room for new involvements once we enter the Spring season.
Monday, February 18th – Whatever Could Be Wrong – Jupiter, Sun, Uranus, Venus, Saturn, Sun Pisces. Monday is Presidents’ Day in the US, a holiday for some, another manic Monday for others. The Leo Moon today trines Jupiter late in the day. The major energies today are related to other planetary configurations. The Sun sextiles Uranus early in the day and just before the Sun exits Aquarius to enter Pisces, and a day before the Virgo Full Moon tomorrow, a Supermoon. Venus conjuncts Saturn. Today’s thrust may be associated with expressing our creativity, whether we do so by active participation with our own creative talents or we observe fun events. We may be feeling upbeat and also wanting to do things more on the spur of the moment, whereby we can spread our wings and explore realms with which we are unfamiliar. There could be reconnections with people we have not heard from in a while. Social obligations might have the liability of clipping our wings. If we can merge our tasks with spontaneity today, we might be able to cover all bases and then some. With the Sun entering Pisces, we now have a Stellium of three planets in both Pisces as the Sun joins Mercury and Neptune in the Neptune-ruled Mutable Water Sign of Pisces and in Capricorn with Venus, Pluto and Saturn in the Saturn-ruled Cardinal Earth Sign of Capricorn. These two Stelliums continue through the rest of this month, and allow us to blend a visionary sense with a practical approach. Let’s not lose the positive energies to either fantasies or hyper-criticism.
Tuesday, February 19th – Light of the Moon – Uranus, Virgo Full Moon, Sun, Mars, Mercury, Neptune, Saturn. Tuesday can be one bang-up day. The Leo Moon trines Uranus before the Moon enters Virgo where today the Moon opposes the Sun at the time of the Full Moon, a Supermoon, and the Virgo Moon trines Mars. Mercury conjuncts Neptune, and Mercury sextiles Saturn. This is a day when our creative juices may be flowing, a time when we could consider our options and alternative trajectories for ourselves. No matter what our schedule may be today, this is a day when we can be highly functional and exceedingly productive. We could meld the best of both worlds — our imagination and our expertise. By taking the time to plan out our day, we can strategize a best practices approach, engage time management skills and accomplish more than we could possibly have thought possible. If we would visualize the successful accomplishments of our goals, we are then able to focus on the specifics and the particulars without letting anything fall between the cracks. The one caveat to this day is not to allow our emotions get the better of us, whereby we second guess ourselves or get distracted by needless diversions. There is a great thrust of energy to achieve our plans, and the more we can listen to our muse, the more we can get out of our own way and be guided to positive results.
Wednesday, February 20th – the Gnats of Doubts – Lunar T-Square, Neptune, Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn, Venus, Pluto. What is it about the human condition when things can be so right and go swimmingly well that we often get in our own way and muck things up? Wednesday might offer us a case in point. On the one hand, the Virgo Moon trines the Capricorn-transiting planets of Saturn, Venus and Pluto. On the other hand, the Virgo Moon triggers a Mutable Sign T-Square with the Moon square Jupiter, and the Moon opposed both Neptune and Mercury. Concentrating on the specifics and the particulars today may be the way by which we put everything neatly together and in an appealing package. While everything can run smoothly today, we might mess things up by a perfectionist and super critical tendency. If we try to fine tune to the nth degree, we could become Kafkaesque and throw away all of our progress, dismiss our projects. If our self-critique gets the better of us, not only could we eliminate what we have so carefully been working on but we could also find our attention being diverted to one thing and another, all in an attempt to find some satisfaction when our attitude might be more akin to The Rolling Stones’ “I can’t get no satisfaction”. Wednesday offers us the ability to plan our steps in a methodical manner, focus on what we are doing, and apply ourselves to getting things done without second-guessing ourselves or being overly critical of our engagements.
Thursday, February 21st – Time Out. Thursday has the Moon moving into Libra where today the Moon makes no aspects to the planets. After the push – pull of yesterday and the heightened energy of the past three days and before the next two days with the energy again ratcheting up, this Thursday might be a day when we call for ourselves a ‘time out’. There are times when it is essential for us to step away from things, take a breather and from a more detached viewpoint consider everything this is going on in our world. Thursday may be one of those days. Since we are often too close to our own activities, we could use this day in conversation with a trusted friend to get their take on what we are doing and how we are doing it. An objective perspective can provide valuable input, both suggestions and encouragement, to our involvements. For many of us, life seems so out of balance with various whipsaws, and this feeling could be turned up this week. That’s why this Thursday can offer us a day to turn down the volume, get rid of the static, and in quieter moments consider what we are truly engaging. We might give thought to how to better feng shui our life, bringing greater harmony into our environment, into our activities, into our self.
Friday, February 22nd – Better Mousetrap – Jupiter, Saturn, Venus, Pluto, Mercury. Friday is the 22nd, a Master Number in Numerology, that offers us a time to be the ‘master builder’ when we are operating at our optimum, or instead just a great deal of mundane chores if we take the energy to the lower level. This Friday has the Libra Moon sextile Jupiter and the Moon square the three Capricorn-transiting planets of Saturn, Venus and Pluto. Mercury squares Jupiter, and Venus conjuncts Pluto. While it is beneficial to get people’s input as a sounding board or as an objective evaluator, there are times when we give too much credence to someone’s opinion. This Friday may have us a little too reliant upon someone’s critique or their personal interests. Our generosity may know no bounds today, but we have to question whether out of our own insecurities we are giving too much to someone else and not valuing enough our own desires and interests. It’s all well and good to develop ideas in concept, but the practical realization of our intentions may take far more elbow grease than we recognize when developing our plans. If we lose our own self advocacy to the suggestions of someone else, we might build up resentment that can damage our personal relationships. This is a day for us to find our own balance, a balance between how we see things with how we intend to go about doing our plans and the needs and interests of someone else. If the balance is lost between me and thee, then our relationship can suffer. Today challenges us to find the fine line between accommodating and capitulating. We might be looking at a better mousetrap when the old and reliable serve us just fine.
Saturday, February 23rd – Stepping Away – Uranus, Sun, Mars, Mercury, Pluto. Saturday begins the day with the Libra Moon opposed Uranus. The Moon then moves into Scorpio where late in the day the Moon trines the Sun, and the Moon opposes Mars. Mercury sextiles Pluto. Things may not go according to plan on this Saturday, but as we may have experienced, our plans are always conditional and dependent upon changing circumstance. And so it may be on this Saturday. An unexpected situation might arise with someone impacting our plans for the day. This is a day for us to work smarter rather than harder. This Saturday is also a day when we can clean up and clear out. Whether we physically do a straightening and eliminating or we do so in our mind of our various scheduled activities, we are likely to be focused on prioritizing and concentrating our efforts on our most significant interests. We do not want to be weighted down by the superfluous. Once started, we could streamline and strategize in order to be more effective and productive in our days ahead. We might want some alone time and step away from the hurly-burly of life in the fast lane.
Sunday, February 24th – All’s Well That Ends Well – Neptune, Saturn. After a highly active week with various ups and downs, times of intense activity, other times to catch our breath, this Sunday allows us to rest on our laurels. The Scorpio Moon today trines Neptune, and the Moon sextiles Saturn. Our spiritual nature might be heightened today, and it would be wise for us to take time to reflect, contemplate and consider where we have been, where we are going, and where we are. A sense of well-being and an appreciation of what we have contributed to life and to the people around us can instill us with a recognition of a job well done and a life worth living. By listening to our inner voice, we can better understand the light and love we have shared with others and provided encouragement to other people who have occasionally stumbled along the way, just as other people have encouraged us during our darker moments. As if getting a soulful infusion, we could use the latter part of the day to prepare for the week ahead and how we can best put our spirit into action.
