The astrology for this week of February 11th through the 17th of 2019 can have us starting off in new directions and doing so with a burst of energy before slowing things down and developing things methodically.
The week starts with us looking at how we present ourselves, all the while that we’re considering the costs involved. We may have been caught up in the whirlwind of the new year with our resolutions front in mind, but this week allows us to see how we can best proceed in an expeditious and effective manner.
As the week progresses, we can be impetuous, looking to spread our wings and expand our interests. Fortunately, before we jump off the ledge in a confident manner of believing in our free flying and our soaring with the eagles, we could get our feet firmly back on the ground and focus on a step-by-step procession to advance our interests.
We have a major Sign change on the 14th, Valentine’s Day. Mars exits its own Sign of Aries to enter Taurus, a Sign where Mars is in Detriment, uncomfortable to the plodding nature of Taurus rather than the turbo-thrust of Mars in Aries. Coming on Valentine’s Day, the Mars move into Taurus could see explosive spending on our loved one[s] with the liability of ratcheting up ever greater balances on our credit card accounts.
The end of the week and the weekend might have us enjoying the leisure of home, although with various tasks to be done beckoning and intruding on our ‘down time’.
Saturday night and Sunday morning could be idyllic with us more interested in what is going on with our special someone, even to the point of putting our own interests on the back burner to accommodate someone else’s desires.
The week can be a roller coaster with life being relatively stable and focused to begin the week. The mid-part of the week can shift into high gear with all sorts of thrills and excitement, even to the point of too much excitement. And the end of the week and the weekend slow things down again as we seek solace in the comfort of our home or in the company of a special someone[s].
Monday, February 11th – Looking Good, Feeling Good – Venus. The Taurus Moon trines Venus today. We are also likely to be feeling the influence of the coming Mars Uranus conjunction early on Wednesday morning. Style and our appearance may be the ways by which we can gain advantage in realizing our goals. This is a day when we seem well put together, yet also insistent on what we want to do and how we want to do it. There’s no stepping on toes today. On the contrary, we may be smooth, charming and persuasive to get what we want today. There’s a method to our madness. Whatever we want and whomever we want it from, we might well know how to ‘preach to the choir’, positioning our self and our case in a manner seductively receptive to our audience. Presentations are appealing. If we have something that is avant garde, a little bit quirky and innovative, we could package our ideas in a grounded, practical and conventional manner. This is a day when we can blend the traditional with the unconventional. This Monday might be a winning day thanks to our attitude of feeling good and our ability in looking good.
Tuesday, February 12th – Everything Neatly Together – Neptune, Saturn, Pluto, Sun. Tuesday continues with the Moon in Taurus with the Moon today sextile Neptune, the Moon trine Saturn and trine Pluto, and the Moon square the Sun. Drawing upon our intuitive feelings, a sense of inner knowing, we can find all the pieces that will fit neatly together into creating the whole. While our focus may be on the big picture of our goals and ambitions, this is a day when we are not liable to things falling between the cracks. We can focus on the particulars without losing sight of the whole. Even if we don’t seem to have the answer to perplexing issues, we might choose to trust our gut with the recognition that there are times when we know without knowing. Where a problem might arise is how people see our talents and our abilities. Either jealousy of what seems to be us operating on greased wheels, effectively and productively, or resentment that we are seemingly self-absorbed and not paying enough attention to someone; could be the trigger of personal upsets. We might have to deal with someone’s vulnerability, but the more we can present our interests as a win-win situation the more likely we can mitigate any personal upsets and allow the person to be a passive observer but with a personal interest in our successes.
Wednesday, February 13th – Fast Out of the Gate Without Itinerary in Hand – Mercury, Mars, Uranus. Wednesday has the Moon moving into Gemini where today the Moon squares Gemini-ruling Mercury, which is in Pisces, a Sign of Detriment for Mercury with the thinking getting diffuse and tending to confusion. We could be all over the place on this Wednesday. Our actions might be impetuous and consequently we have to be wary of being accident-prone. We may be so hopped up to get going that we forget where we are going or what we are going to do. Our adrenaline can be screeching and us along with it. We might far prefer to spread our wings and fly to far off reaches on this Wednesday. Unfortunately, in the process, we could leave all reason and sensibility behind. Our physical energy can be ratcheted up severalfold and to dissipate some of our energy we might consider having various projects going on and all at one, as if playing the xylophone rather than the one note samba. Quality of time today is far better than quantity of time, for going from one thing to another would prevent us from staying too long at any one thing, which could be the cause of too much, too long and a consequent liability to a crash and burn.
Thursday, February 14th – Excesses Restrained – Lunar T-Square, Neptune, Jupiter. Mars Taurus. The incredible thrust of energy that we could have felt yesterday may be ratcheted up today, only to be slammed by braking action. The Moon continues its transit of Gemini and today the Moon triggers a Mutable Sign T-Square as the Moon squares Neptune and the Moon opposes Jupiter. We may want to be here, there and everywhere but our energy might only be a residue from the day before. While we can have all sorts of ideas for this Thursday, our ability might be stronger in concept than in reality. This Thursday has a major Sign change as Mars exits Aries to enter Taurus. Since New Year’s Eve, Mars has been transiting Aries, a Sign that Mars rules and provides the impetus to concentrate on our self and a pioneering nature of starting projects that have our own imprint upon them. Mars entering Taurus has Mars entering a Sign in which Mars is in Detriment and uncomfortable due to the more methodical, plodding nature of Taurus. We could feel as though we are giving gas by putting the pedal to the metal only to realize that we have the emergency brake on and with us going nowhere or going far more slowly than if we had the parking brake off. While we might not appreciate the diminishment to our self-assertiveness that this Mars Sign change could indicate, we may find that we have a tempering action to our impetuousness. Although we might wish to act impulsively, things can slow down with a tendency to restrain our excesses. Since this is Valentine’s Day, we do have to be careful that the Mars in Taurus does not incite us to spend more or go overboard in our generosity.
Friday, February 15th – Feathering our Nest – Sun, Uranus, Mars. Friday begins with the Moon completing its transit of Gemini and as it does so the Moon trines the Sun and the Moon sextiles Uranus in the early morning hours. The Moon then goes into Cancer where today the Moon sextiles Mars. Whether we completed everything we intended for this week or not, this Friday begins as a whirlwind of activity before we shift our focus to home and family. Friday could have us juggling any number of things — dealing with outstanding matters, considering our future plans and fixing up our environment. Friday in the US begins the Presidents’ Day holiday weekend. Once we have dealt with any outstanding matters that need to be addressed and not postponed until next week, our focus could shift to feathering our nest. We might choose to take advantage of any Presidents’ Day Sales, which can also serve as a necessary break from the winter doldrums. Whether we are traveling for a winter break or staying put, we are likely to seek out some diversion from our ordinary routine experiences.
Saturday, February 16th – No Rest for the Weary – Mercury, Neptune, Venus, Saturn, Pluto. Saturday has the Cancer Moon trining the Pisces-transiting planets of Mercury and Neptune, and the Moon opposing the Capricorn-transiting planets of Venus, Saturn and Pluto. There can be a push-pull on this Saturday. On the one hand, we might far prefer to escape into the luxury of our home and watch movies, sleep in or otherwise step off the track of routine. On the other hand, we may have a long ‘to do’ list of various household tasks beckoning us with an additional call from our conscience or from a family member. If we can balance the two — quality time in respite for our self and also focused attention to home projects; then this day does not have to be a tug-of-war, which could prove annoying and exhausting. We might have commitments to honor today, and we could be surprised how warm and welcoming some of our commitments turn out to be. We can use this day to beautify, adding to our wardrobe in anticipation of the forthcoming seasons of spring and summer and buying things to add sparkle and vibrancy to our environment. Whatever we do, even if we feel a sense of obligation in doing it, the outcome could prove far more pleasant by our being present and involved in the day’s events. The evening hours may be mystical and alluring.
Sunday, February 17th – What You See, What You Get – Uranus, Mars, Venus, Neptune. Sunday begins the day with the Cancer Moon square Uranus. The Moon then goes into Leo where today the Moon squares Mars. Venus sextiles Neptune. We could awaken on this Sunday to a curveball that knocks us off center. We might find that our intentions are dampened by someone’s needs. We could also discover a characteristic in someone that tarnishes the idyllic image we had of that person. While we could feel our wings being clipped, this is a day for us not to fight against what seems to be happening, since the liability of illusion and delusion could be strong. Although the sirens may be enticing and seductive, it would be wise for us to be judicious in our decisions — decisions regarding our involvements, our times and our monies. Wanting to believe in something could be a treacherous journey. Let’s bear in mind the cautionary saying that ‘the pathway to hell is paved with good intentions’. This is a day better spent in letting off steam, enjoying some recreational activity but not taking anything too seriously or buying fully into the images and appearances.
