The astrology for this week of January 21st through the 27th of 2019 can have us feeling on fire, either fired up ready to take on the world or burnt to a crisp by unexpected problems.
The music of the mid to late 1960’s and through much of the 1970’s was a phenomenal era, not the error of the music in more recent decades. This week for me brings to mind one of those classic songs of the 1960’s, what might be referred to as a one hit wonder: the 1968 song ‘Fire’ by The Crazy World of Arthur Brown [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FaHEusBG20c].
With this week having a great deal of fire, starting at the very beginning of Monday morning with the Leo Full Moon, a Supermoon and a Lunar Eclipse, much of this week is ignited by aspects to Fire-transiting planets.
To borrow from the lyrics of ‘Fire’:
I’ll take you to learn.
I’ll see you burn!
You fought hard and you saved and learned
but all of it’s going to burn.
And your mind
Your tiny mind
You know you’ve really been so blind.
Now’s your time burn your mind.
You’re falling far too far behind.”
The week begins with the Leo Full Moon and a Fire Grand Trine both on Monday and Tuesday with the Leo Moon trining the Sagittarius-transiting planets and the Moon trining the Aries-transiting planets.
The first two days of the week can have us being highly productive, optimistic about our prospects and confident in our abilities. Where a problem might arise is any liability to our falling into arrogance or narcissism. Despite the exuberance of the moment, let’s be wary that it’s not irrational exuberance where we lose sight of potential wing-clipping incidents or we refuse to take into account unexpected situations that could cause our best-laid plans to crash and burn.
After a possible whack on the side of the head mid-week, thanks largely to any possible consequence of one of my least favorite aspects, the dreaded Mercury square Uranus; the latter part of the week offers us greater foresight, an ability to see the larger picture and a cautious optimism with us likely to draw upon someone or other people as rational sounding boards for our plans and intentions.
The weekend can be a good time for us to socialize and enjoy the companionship of that special someone or the special people in our life.
We close out the week considering what we need to be rid of in order to avoid being tripped up as we concentrate our focus on our future goals.
Monday, January 21st – Flying High on Great Exuberance – Leo Full Moon, Lunar Eclipse, Sun, Lunar Grand Trine, Mars, Venus, Saturn. Late on Sunday, early on Monday morning, we have the Sun opposed Moon at the Leo Full Moon, a Supermoon and a Lunar Eclipse. The Leo Moon triggers a Fire Grand Trine with the Moon trine Mars in Aries and the Moon trine Venus in Sagittarius. Mars squares Saturn. We could be feeling our oats as we start the week. We can be dramatic, seeking center stage and desiring to put our personal mark upon our activities. Although we might have a thrust of energy and feeling like we could conquer the world, a liability to arrogance and narcissism may have us feeling like a ‘legend in our own minds’ and assume that hard, cold reality has no place in our world or in our intentions. Talk about setting ourselves up for a fall. Monday and Tuesday can be primo days, days when our attitude is likely to assist us in our determination and our plans. We just have to be cognizant of the conditions and circumstances in which we find ourselves and not assume that we can override the standards or parameters with which we are dealing. Any tendency to over-reach today could have us crashing into a wall. This is a day for us to work smarter rather than harder. If we keep aware of our environment, we might be able to progress smoothly ahead as if on greased wheels. But it is important that we not try to overdo or do anything that pushes the envelope.
Tuesday, January 22nd – On Top of the World – Lunar Grand Trine, Jupiter, Uranus, Venus. Monday and Tuesday have the Leo Moon triggering a Fire Grand Trine. Yesterday, the Leo Moon trined Mars in Aries and the Moon trined Venus in Sagittarius. Today, the Leo Moon trines Jupiter in Sagittarius and the Moon trines Uranus in Aries. Venus conjuncts Jupiter. This Tuesday can have us feeling like everything is going our way. Both Monday and Tuesday are likely to be ‘feel good’ days, days when everything seems right in the world, or at the least, things can be right in our world. It would be wise for us to note how an upbeat attitude not only makes us feel as though things are all working out but in reality also helps to create the right conditions for successful maneuvering. Even if we had hit some speed bumps yesterday and felt our trajectory was delayed or slightly blocked, this Tuesday allows alternate trajectories that in truth might be far better than what we originally planned. And isn’t that often the way? We sometimes have certain ideas in mind and thoughts as to the best course of action and the right methods to achieve our goals, when the universe steps in, indicates that our way is not necessarily the most effective way, and the universe offers an alternative approach. We could see such a semblance on this Monday and Tuesday. Even if we did find resistance yesterday, this Tuesday seems to open new doors or provides options of which we weren’t aware. We are looking to put our personal mark on our involvements, but let’s keep in mind that during this paradigm shift we are co-creators with the universal unfolding and not the sole arbiters of our life unfolding.
Wednesday, January 23rd – Whacks on the Side of the Head – Saturn, Neptune, Mercury, Uranus. Monday and Tuesday could have had everything working out for us. Such ease of conditions might have given us an omnipotent sense, a sense that we could do no wrong. Henry Wadsworth Longfellow penned the phrase: “into each life some rain must fall”. And we could experience something akin to rainfall today, although it might feel more like a headbanger. Wednesday has the Moon in Virgo with the Virgo Moon today trine Saturn and the Moon opposed Neptune. We may have been operating at top speed and in top flight the past two days. If we are willing to utilize due diligence and focus on the specifics, then today could be an effective and productive day. Let’s not get lost in the possibilities and in the ‘what could be’. We need to maintain focus, take things detail by detail, and also keep vigilant to the unexpected curveballs that might upset our schedule or our operations. For this Wednesday also has Mercury square Uranus, my least favorite aspect for air travel. Not only can air travel be negatively impacted by this energy, but there can also be computer disruptions, Internet issues, traffic delays, misunderstandings and miscommunications with unexpected situations creating havoc to our schedule and to our plans. This is a day that calls for us to be aware, mindful and willing to adapt to changing conditions, a day to expect the unexpected.
Thursday, January 24th – Ahead of Our Self – Jupiter, Venus, Pluto, Moon Void-of-Course, Mercury Aquarius. Monday and Tuesday could have had us smoothly sailing along with our wind to our back and us feeling good about everything that was going on. Wednesday could have brought us up short due to an unanticipated variable tripping us up. Thursday has the Virgo Moon square both Jupiter and Venus both in Sagittarius and the Moon trine Pluto. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for over fourteen hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Virgo and before the Moon enters Libra late in the day. Mercury exits Capricorn to enter Aquarius. With Mercury exiting Capricorn, we end the Capricorn Stellium or power pack in the Cardinal Earth Sign that has gone on since the beginning of Winter. Thursday is a day when we might become aware that on blind faith and unbridled optimism we had moved ahead too far too fast early in the week. Yesterday and today could make us aware of certain specifics that fell between the cracks while we were la-de-da-ing our way through the early part of the week. We might have gotten ahead of our self, and our errors may become evident today. Thursday is a day to pull in the reins, prioritize our activities and concentrate on the fundamentals. Instead of the great leaps of faith earlier in the week, this Thursday asks us to take things step by step. Review, re-evaluation and reworking could be a large part of this Thursday. It would be wise for us to keep our head down and deal with what needs to be done today.
Friday, January 25th – Encouragement from Advocates – Mercury, Sun, Saturn, Mars, Jupiter. Friday has the Libra Moon trine both Mercury and the Sun both in Aquarius, and late in the day the Moon square Saturn. Mars trines Jupiter. This is a day when collaboration beats going it alone. There can be encouragement of our plans from one of our fans. Not only could they stoke the fires of our passion and determination to forge ahead in a new direction or a new way of doing things. We might find that someone actually helps us lift our burden. We may be able to see the bigger picture, aware of what could be. We are looking to move ahead with our projects, expand our activities and put our personal mark upon our engagements, all the while that we are not looking to step on anyone’s toes. On the contrary, this Friday might be a day when a Mutual Admiration gathering might be in effect. Just as we may be encouraged in our efforts by someone, we could also advocate for someone else’s greater wishes. Late in the day, things can get a little testy, as we realize that our hopes and dreams are easily achieved in concept but run into problems during the implementation. Our focus today may be on our future and our options, but our obligations still need tending to.
Let’s give energy to our possibilities without negating our responsibilities.
Saturday, January 26th – Commitments Made – Jupiter, Venus, Lunar T-Square, Mars, Pluto. Saturday can be a highly active day, but liable to be with a push – pull scenario. The Moon continues its transit of Libra with the Moon today sextile both Venus and Jupiter both in Sagittarius. The Moon also triggers a Cardinal Sign T-Square with the Moon opposed Mars and the Moon square Pluto. While much of our attention may be placed upon expanding our activities and pursuing new projects, this Saturday calls for tidying up loose ends, bringing things to completion and dealing with our ‘to do’ list. Although we might not be able to do everything that we want to do, we can have an upbeat attitude for what we have to do. We may put a lot on our plate today, but we can manage ticking off items one by one if we prioritize our time and focus on the most compelling. This is a day when we might ‘whistle while we work’, for we could recognize that once we accomplish commitments made we would have time to spread our wings, do whatever catches our fancy, and enjoy the company of someone else. This Saturday is a day to expeditiously do what we need to get done and then spread our wings to explore the wide realm of possibilities. Much of the energy on this Saturday occurs in the morning hours, so we might wish to get up and going with a head of steam, juggle our various tasks, and then let the rest of the day unfold leisurely without stress and without obligations.
Sunday, January 27th – Too Much to Hold on to – Uranus, Mercury, Sun. Sunday begins with the Libra Moon opposed Uranus in the early morning hours. The Moon then moves into Scorpio where today the Scorpio Moon squares both Mercury and the Sun both in Aquarius. There are times when we need to let go of certain things, rid ourselves of the extraneous in order to provide space for the new, different and exciting. This Sunday could be one of those days. We might need to use some of our time on Sunday to do an inventory taking of our stuff and activities that could get in the way of our moving ahead with our more desirable pursuits. Clutter can get in our way, slow down our progress, and keep us from doing what we truly want to achieve. Today would be a good day for us to do a house cleaning and get rid of the outmoded, non-functional and the stuff that only takes up space without adding anything positive to our life. We don’t have to put on hold our planned pursuits, but we might need to do a clearing in order to create the time, energy and space to concentrate on our goals. With the new year promising ‘out with the old, in with the new’, this Sunday could engage our resolution of letting go of the old in order to have the time and energy to engage the new.
