The astrology for this week of December 3rd through the 9th of 2018 could keep us on our toes with an acceleration of our activities all in the midst of a state of confusion.
The week begins pleasantly enough with unexpected contacts making suggestions that open our eyes to new possibilities and alternatives to our intended direction.
These are times when dramatic shifts and radical changes can occur in a nanosecond forcing us to make alterations and adapt to a whole different set of circumstances.
We may want to do a culling early in the week, removing the outmoded and the hardly used from our environment in order to make way for the new and more thrilling engagements.
This juxtaposition of old and new might prove confusing even to the point of our questioning who we are, who we are in process of being and what we are doing. We are coming to the end of the year, and in preparation we can be looking at tying up loose ends and completing those matters that we don’t wish to bring into the new year.
Already, we could be sensing the idea of ‘out with the old, in with the new’. Which is which may present a quandary and force us into a state of confusion.
Let’s keep in mind that this week also has us finishing the last of this year’s three Mercury retrogrades with Mercury turning direct on Thursday just prior to the Sagittarius New Moon. Whenever Mercury changes direction, whether from direct to retrograde or from retrograde to direct motion, things get very squirrely with issues associated with travel, communications, technological tools and clear thinking all liable to be problematic.
This shift of Mercury turning direct is also impacted by Neptunian influences, adding to the confusion, the lack of clarity, and the possibility of illusion and delusion being in play. More so than ever, we need to keep our wits about us.
The New Moon on the 7th kicks off a two-week cycle when our actions may be triggered more by our emotions than clear reasoning. We could be scurrying around in search of fun events and social interactions and all with a sense that more might just not be enough. Indulgences can be tempting and passed off as a part of the holiday charades.
The weekend might have obligatory commitments that we have to do even if we would prefer not to do them. Recognizing that the ‘shoulds’ and ‘oughts’ are a part of the holiday season could tamper down any resentment we might have about planned participations in get-togethers and community events.
We may be off to the races this week, but it would be wise that we use forethought before heading out and then have itinerary and destination in mind.
Monday, December 3rd – Amping and Champing – Uranus, Venus. Situations over the weekend could have triggered misguided involvements, and we might continue in this vein as we start the week. Today, the Moon finishes its transit of Libra with the Moon opposed Uranus. The Moon then moves into Scorpio where today the Scorpio Moon conjuncts Venus. We could find ourselves in a tug-of-war with someone, a push-pull between our interests and the suggestions of someone else. We may be looking to spread our wings, take off in new directions and have a greater sense of autonomy and enhancing the personal ‘ME’. Our tendency may be to let go of certain aspects that presently make up our life. We might not be clear of what we want to do or where we want to go, but we are open to suggestions and ideas of possibilities untapped. Before acting precipitously with behavior that might have long-term implications, it would be wise to keep in mind that we are still in the throes of Mercury retrograde, indicative of Murphy’s Law where ‘whatever can go wrong could go wrong’. Instead of jumping at any one thing or altering our direction significantly, it is suggested that we mull things over, contemplate the various matters at hand and not react immediately until we have further evidence of what is truly going on. We have to be wary that our emotions and any discontent with our present circumstances don’t trigger knee-jerk reactions and extreme decisions.
Tuesday, December 4th – Back on the Ground – Saturn, Mars, Neptune. If we were able to restrain impetuous actions on our part yesterday, then this Tuesday allows us to put things in right perspective. The Moon in Scorpio today sextiles Saturn, and the Moon trines both Mars and Neptune. By taking our time and taking into account what we need to get done and considering how we can accomplish our ‘to do’ list expeditiously, this day allows us to complete certain matters and eliminate some of the extraneous from our lives. This Tuesday would be a good day for a clean up and clear out. We may be looking at tidying things in our home environment and straightening things out. We might choose to spend some time in our own thoughts and reflections, seeking a quiet sanctuary where we can warm and nurture ourselves. Even if but a brief interlude, taking a deep breath, stepping off the fast track, and contemplating a best practices approach to achieve various conclusions would serve us well. The end of the week gives us a New Moon and the end of the three-week Mercury retrograde. Getting things out of the way now would clear the decks for any new initiations we wish to start under the New Moon influences.
Wednesday, December 5th – Priorities – Pluto, Mercury, Moon Void-of-Course, Sun, Neptune. The Moon completes its transit of Scorpio today with the Moon sextile Pluto and the Moon conjunct Mercury. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for almost four hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Scorpio and before the Moon enters Sagittarius late in the day. The Sun squares Neptune. Having an agenda of what we need to accomplish and listing our priorities could allow us to expedite matters we wish to resolve before the year is out. Yesterday and today are two days when we can deal effectively with all the minutiae of our daily lives. Although we might be questioning where we are going and what we are doing, it would be wiser for us to look in the rear view mirror rather than straight ahead. Our forward trajectory may seem more impressionistic, even confusing to make out clearly, but we are well aware of our past. We know where we’ve been, even if we’re not certain of where we are heading. Let’s deal with completions and conclusions and not worry about the future. The more we clear away the dross and outdated in our life, the clearer our future possibilities might seem.
Thursday, December 6th – Too Much, Too Soon – Jupiter, Mars, Neptune, Mercury direct. The Sagittarius Moon today conjuncts Jupiter, the ruler of Sagittarius, and the Moon squares both Mars and Neptune both in Pisces. Mercury turns direct. We are on the dark side of the Moon prior to tomorrow’s Sagittarius New Moon. This is a day when we might start off confident, enthusiastic and optimistic. We may be feeling at the top of our game and ready to spread our wings and soar with the eagles. Such a sense may be more figurative than literal, but we are likely to want to venture forth, feeling good about ourselves and about our prospects. Nice concept, but the headwinds could prove turbulent and strong. We might be somewhat confused about what we’re planning to do and why we’re doing it. This is a day when movement and actions might seem more important than focused intent or goal orientation. Mercury ends its three-week retrograde cycle and turns direct today. Whenever Mercury changes direction, whether from direct to retrograde or retrograde to direct motion, things get convoluted. Being on the dark side of the Moon, things are best completed now rather than started. The waxing Moon beginning with tomorrow’s New Moon is a far better time for start-ups and especially with Mercury now direct.
Friday, December 7th – Mishaps – New Moon, Sun, Mars, Neptune. Sometimes we get in our own way. We make assumptions that we are able to master circumstance and alter conditions according to our will. While such self-confidence plays well in our mind and envisions successful outcomes, reality doesn’t always work according to our whims. Friday has the Sagittarius New Moon with the Sun conjunct the Moon. Mars conjuncts Neptune, a configuration the New Moon squares by orb. This astrology signature gives an imprint for the next two weeks. Atmospheric storm systems could be severe with intense winds and high precipitation. There can be various mishaps, especially on the water. This may be a time when we are likely to be ruled by our emotions with a liability of reacting immediately without thinking things through. We need to be careful and fully engage awareness, mindfulness and vigilance. We might have a tendency to go too far, too fast without fully evaluating the conditions and circumstances in which we find ourselves. More so than ever, we are in a time to slow things down and not feel that we have total control over situations. This energy signature influences the next two weeks. Let’s be careful out there and engage ‘moderation in all things’.
Saturday, December 8th – Impulse or Schedule – Uranus, Venus. Saturday begins the day with the Sagittarius Moon trine Uranus. The Moon then moves into Capricorn where today the Moon sextiles Venus. We may want to do whatever catches our fancy on this Saturday, but we could feel hampered by what needs to get done and by our planned commitments. The holidays and the times leading up to the holidays are often paradoxical. On the one hand, we have those indications of magic and glimpses of miracles that exciting unexpected incidents reveal. On the other hand, many of us get so overly involved in the planning, decorations, party-going and other paraphernalia that we get bogged down and even overwhelmed by the holiday traditions. If we can do something on the spur-of-the-moment today, it would alleviate much of the stress that the holidays often engender. There can be some fun reunions or interactions today with surprising events. This is a day for us to blend the spontaneous with the scheduled. Let’s enjoy the holidays but not lose sight of our goals.
Sunday, December 9th – Not All Fun and Games – Saturn, Neptune, Mars, Pluto. Although this time of year revolves largely around holiday parties, social occasions and festive celebrations, there are days when we can be highly productive, deal with outstanding matters but also lay down solid foundation stones for our future endeavors. Even if we have responsibilities and commitments to attend to on this weekend, let’s also draw upon the New Moon configuration that impels us toward expansion of our activities and initiation of new projects that truly speak to us. This Sunday continues with the Capricorn Moon with the Moon today conjunct both Saturn and Pluto, and the Moon sextile both Mars and Neptune both in Pisces. Although Thursday and Friday could have had us participating in some bone-headed actions, yesterday and especially today provide the energy for us to draw upon our intuitive sense in a practical manner and find the right solution to any perplexing problem. This is a day when we can neatly fit different pieces to the puzzle into making the puzzle whole and a comprehensive and well-considered solution. We may feel divinely guided.
