The astrology for this week of October 22nd through the 28th of 2018 ratchets up the intensity with an ability to cut to the core, hold our cards close to our chest and a liability to having relationship issues.
The week begins with us highly astute, able to get to the essence of any matter and with our communications concise and to the point. Humility and diplomacy may be called for but possibly not employed.
Everyone might have their ‘edge’ on, being intense and unwilling to engage in niceties. Whatever happened to civility? Have people gotten so anxious and freaked out that the only response is a knee jerk reaction of veiled hostility or outright contempt?
This is a week when we may choose to keep our head down, go about our business and let the craziness of world events pass on by.
Tuesday has the Sun exiting Libra to enter Scorpio, increasing the influence of the most intense Sign of the zodiac wheel as the Sun reinforces the Stellium in the Fixed Water Sign with the Sun joining Mercury, Venus and Jupiter in Scorpio.
Shortly after the Sun enters Scorpio we have the Taurus Full Moon. Already, we have seen the equity markets rocking and rolling with a drift downward. We might be heading towards winter, but the equity market bears seem to have come alive and with the bulls on the run. Since everything in the world at large seems to be staged for greatest effects, one has to wonder whether the markets are being manipulated with largely good economic news being drowned out by commentators stating that the bull market is long in the tooth and claiming that the next recession is close by and apocalyptic in nature.
Why so much focus on the negative?
In nature in the northern latitudes, this time of year is the time when the decorative of lush vegetation falls away and we get down to the bare bones of the skeletons of the trees. Like nature, this time of year and this week itself allow us to strip away the extraneous and get down to the essential.
This week offers us the opportunity to regroup, go internally deep within ourselves and consider what is truly important and what are needless diversions. We need not be angry or contemptuous about what is going on around us with other people acting out. We can concentrate on what we choose to get done, surround ourselves with upbeat people, engage in uplifting activities and let the crazies be crazy in their own time but at a far distance from our sanctuary and idyllic space.
Monday, October 22nd – Not Missing a Beat – Saturn, Mercury, Pluto. Monday has the Moon moving into Aries, where today the Aries Moon squares Saturn. A thrust of energy to initiate and begin new projects may be tempered by our scheduled activities and our normal responsibilities. With Mercury sextile Pluto today, we can draw upon our own due diligence or the sage advice of someone to streamline our operations and be expeditious in our methods. This is a day when we can get focused, prioritize our activities and concentrate on the truly important. If we have had difficulty figuring out a situation, this Monday gives us a laser-like ability to see what is really going on and then devise a best practices approach by which we can resolve any problematic matter in a clear and effective manner. We might want some alone time without the static or chatter to disrupt us. Our sense of things can be spot on. We may be holding our cards close to our chest, revealing little, but plowing forward with determined intent.
Tuesday, October 23rd – Financial Awareness – Mars, Pluto, Moon Void-of-Course, Sun Scorpio, Uranus. Sometimes we get carried away with ourselves as though embracing the concept of ‘being a legend in one’s own mind’. Yesterday could have had us highly astute, able to fit all the pieces neatly into the puzzle and coming up with a tight and productive strategy by which to accomplish new projects, our long-term goals. Tuesday may start off in a similar manner with the Moon sextile Mars. We might feel inspired, all powerful, and ready to forge ahead no matter the perceived obstacles we see in our way. We could assume that we have all the answers and with great determination forge ahead. But might does not always make right, and we could bang up against some impenetrable forces as the Moon squares Pluto. Suddenly, much of our enthusiasm can wane as we run up against the realization that we don’t have all the tools necessary in our skill set to accomplish our intended plans. Our obvious choice might be to push on through no matter the resistance, but the energy wanes as the Moon goes Void-of-Course for over twenty hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Aries and before the Moon enters Taurus tomorrow. A major shift in energy occurs with the Sun exiting Libra to enter Scorpio, thereby reinforcing the Scorpio Stellium as the Sun joins Mercury, Venus and Jupiter in the Fixed Water Sign. Our intensity may increase. The Sun then opposes Uranus. The tendency in our society and often in our personal lives is to throw money at any problem we encounter. Over the next few days we have to be especially careful not to buy into the belief that money and increased expenditures will alleviate any difficulties in our life. On the contrary, raising the stakes of our investment, whether money, materials or our time, could only be adding fuel to the fire. It is essential that we maintain financial awareness, be the stewards of our resources and not feel that we can determine circumstance solely by our will.
Wednesday, October 24th – Betting the Ranch – Moon Void-of-Course, Uranus, Taurus Full Moon, Sun, Venus, Saturn. Wednesday begins with the Moon Void-of-Course as the Moon finishes its transit of Aries without making any connections to the planets and before the Moon enters Taurus where today the Taurus Moon conjuncts Uranus, the Moon opposes the Sun at the Full Moon, the Moon opposes Venus and the Moon trines Saturn. Venus sextiles Saturn. We might be champing at the bit to get on with things, wanting to proceed swiftly but with little support from the energies. As the day proceeds, we might get something of a second wind, but this second wind might not be a gentle breeze but a howling squall instead. The intensity of this day cannot be discounted. The liability towards impetuousness and impulse buying could have us making moves that are ill-considered and more likely knee-jerk reactions. Yesterday and today call for us to keep a watchful eye on our finances and our expenditures. We could easily bet the ranch on what we assume to be good investments but might prove to be fool’s gold. By taking a conservative approach, going slowly and fully engaging our due diligence we may avoid some nasty situations with even greater unbearable consequences. This is a day for us to be resourceful rather than extravagant and to be mindful of the inflow of revenue and the outflow of expenditures. Saving for a rainy day is not an anachronism but a wise suggestion to counter unexpected future costs.
Thursday, October 25th – Specifics, Not Generalities – Neptune, Mars, Pluto. Thursday continues with the Moon’s transit of Taurus with the Moon today sextile Neptune, the Moon square Mars, and the Moon trine Pluto. While our recent tendency, or more likely a liability, has been for us to be all over the place, such a disposition could have led us to spreading ourselves too thin, negating a necessary comprehensive appraisal of situations before engaging them, and thrusting ourselves into virtually anything and at times even everything. Today we could be more like the tortoise than the hare to borrow from Aesop’s fable and with a similar result by our taking things slowly, considering our intentions diligently and then moving ahead mindfully, concentrating on both the specifics and the most significant to arrive at a successful conclusion of our plans. To achieve productive results today, it would be wise for us to trust our instincts, strategize our methods and not be distracted by diversions from our intended course of action for this day. We live in a world of bombardments from all sorts of stimuli, and it is often excruciatingly hard to maintain focus. With the Stellium in Scorpio now, we can concentrate on the truly meaningful and not be diverted from our path by the bright and sparkly lures that might otherwise tantalize us. By keeping our attention on the particulars, we may be able to create a solid and indisputable means to achieve our desired result.
Friday, October 26th – Image Over Substance – Mercury, Jupiter, Moon Void-of-Course, Sun, Venus. Friday has the Moon completing its transit of Scorpio with the Scorpio Moon opposed both Mercury and Jupiter. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for almost five hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Taurus and before the Moon enters Gemini later in the day. The Sun conjuncts Venus. Today is a day when we might be far more interested in how things appear rather than what they actually contain. We might decide to spruce up our environment, wanting to feather our nest with comfortable and appealing accessories. We do have to be wary of spending too much and especially on glitzy items that are strong on style but short on quality or craftsmanship. Drawing upon a close friend as a taste barometer could prevent us from purchasing something that seems thrilling but in reality looks ghastly. We might still be feeling the sting of Wednesday’s Full Moon and choose to salve our discomfort or pain with indulgences and excesses. Things lighten up in the evening hours when we may take on a ‘devil may care’ attitude of nonchalance. Let’s do what needs to be done expeditiously to close out the week and have the weekend for romping about.
Saturday, October 27th – Whichever Way the Wind Blows – Neptune, Sun, Saturn. Saturday has the Moon in Gemini with the Moon today square Neptune. The Sun sextiles Saturn. Whether we have plans or not for this Saturday, we might have so many options that the vastness leaves us confused. No spinning our wheels today, for it would be far better for us to explore, investigate and engage in whatever comes our way. Although we are conditioned into a belief that life occurs in a sequential manner, this Saturday could help open our eyes to a magical world where things can occur in a most unexpected manner. This day is best served as seeing it as a scavenger hunt where clues as to what is next in our journey come up as we move along. This can be an exciting day, and we could go it alone or participate with our closest significant other. Discoveries may be made, but we need to stop spinning our wheels and put ourselves into motion. Through all our meanderings today, we might find a gem, the proverbial diamond in the rough. But we have to be willing to look and have an open mind in order to find.
Sunday, October 28th – Up and Running – Mars, Moon Void-of-Concern, Uranus, Venus. Yesterday and today could have us in a fast forward mode. We may have been all over the place yesterday and we might engage the same disposition today. We can have a thrust of energy as we start this day. The Gemini Moon trines Mars. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for nineteen hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon completes its transit of Gemini and before the Moon enters Cancer late in the day, where today the Cancer Moon sextiles Uranus and the Moon trines Venus. This Sunday is a good day to get together with friends or spend quality time with a loved one. Exciting changes late in the day could have us engaged in an unexpected reconnection with someone we haven’t been in contact for a while. This Sunday provides a healing ointment to any issues that might have surfaced in our personal relationships. We can better appreciate individual quirkiness in other people, just as they accept our own zany characteristics. Diversity of involvements is the hallmark of a fulfilling and upbeat life style.
