The astrology for this week of August 6th through the 12th of 2018 has a broad palette with a Goldilocks’ theme of too much, too little, hopefully just right.
Our enthusiasm may know no bounds as we begin the week, although our due diligence might be lacking. We could be enamored by someone’s enthusiasm and encouragement. Let’s be wary of stepping too far out before considering the conditions in which we find ourselves.
Our confidence and optimism can be heightened. We just need to be certain to consider the circumstances and the parameters in which we are operating. We are likely to be far more focused on our future plans and our possibilities than our daily responsibilities or present obligations.
Reunions with past connections can take us down Memory Lane or put certain demands on us.
A sense of start and stop this week may be evident. If we would maintain our patience and have a bemused attitude about everything that seems to be going on, we are less likely to feel aggravated and more likely to enjoy the embers of this summertime. Many of us may be preparing to get back on track with our regular routine. School orientations and school openings are about to begin, signaling the return to our familiar life.
We do need to keep in mind that we are operating under the Mercury retrograde. It would be advised to add on extra time for everything we do, have contingency plans in mind and not be so damn serious about the foibles of humankind. Haven’t we had enough of the anger and bitterness? Instead of focusing on the problems in the world and in our own individual lives, what if we concentrated on the blessings in our lives and the wondrous bounties of human living?
The latter part of the week has us on the dark side of the Moon prior to Saturday’s New Moon, a Solar Eclipse. The week seems more geared to completions, closures and preparations rather than a shot out of the starting gate.
The weekend seems better suited to spreading our wings and soaring with the eagles. If not properly planned and properly executed, our journeys, even just around the block, could prove costly. Budgeting our resources — time, money and energy — would avoid wiping ourselves out.
The weekend ends with Mars retrograding back into Capricorn re-triggering a Stellium in Capricorn as Mars joins Saturn and Pluto in the Cardinal Earth Sign. Becoming more grounded and more focused allows us to concentrate on what we need to do and how we can expeditiously achieve our goals.
Monday, August 6th – Even the Kitchen Sink – Mars, Sun, Jupiter, Venus Libra. Monday could have us seeing life as a smorgasbord with a desire to sample virtually everything. The Moon in Gemini today trines Mars, and the Moon sextiles the Sun. Venus exits Virgo to enter its own Sign of Libra. The Sun squares Jupiter. We could be all over the place on this Monday and feeling good about it. Our energy level can be heightened and we might be fast out of the starting gate today. Perhaps we are considering the fast approach of autumn, a feeling stirred by the advertising hawking back-to-school sales. We may not want to do anything alone today but would prefer the company of that special someone. Let’s hope our companion can put a rein on our spending tendencies, for this is a day when we could go whole hog with our purchases. We may justify excess buying as necessary purchases for our autumn engagements. Our discussions can be pleasant and inspiring, but conversations could also have us taking our eye off the ball of what we need to do and might instead prompt impulse purchases. If we plan things in advance, make a list of what we intend to do, we then might be able to avoid going overboard on this Monday. Otherwise, we could take on everything with little discernment, even the kitchen sink.
Tuesday, August 7th – Confusion Before Clarity on a Slippery Slope – Neptune, Mercury, Moon Void-of-Course, Venus, Mars, Uranus retrograde. Ever have a feeling of overwhelm, those times when there are so many options and alternatives that it’s hard to make reasonable judgment? Tuesday could start off in such a muddied manner. The day begins with the Gemini Moon square Neptune and the Moon sextile Mercury before the Moon goes Void-of-Course for twenty hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Gemini and before the Moon enters Cancer early on Wednesday morning. Venus trines Mars, and Uranus turns retrograde. We can start this Tuesday with certain intentions in mind, but we might have too much to consider thereby triggering a sense of confusion and wondering which way to go, what to start first and whether our plans are nonsensical to begin with. If we would stew in our own juices and not commit immediately on this day, then we could take the time to sort things out, question whether our possibilities truly speak to us and then determine what to do and how to effectively do it. We might draw upon someone’s input for clarity, but before we accept their guidance, it would be wise to appreciate how their perspective and consequently judgment can be so radically different from our own. We might also sense that any radical change could be like stepping off a cliff without a parachute. Confusion can be strong today with a liability of our spinning our wheels. Today is not a day for significant decisions or important commitments. Let’s wait for greater clarity before diving into the deep end.
Wednesday, August 8th – Wise Counsel – Uranus, Jupiter, Lunar T-Square, Venus, Saturn, Sun, Mercury. As children, we might have been cautioned by the proverb ‘the grass is always greener’. The sense of other people’s situations being better than our own situation often plagues us when we are going through a bout of discontent. And this feeling might be apparent on this Wednesday. The Cancer Moon today sextiles Uranus to begin the day and the Moon trines Jupiter to end the day. The Moon also triggers a Cardinal Sign T-Square with the Moon square Venus in Libra and the Moon opposed Saturn in Capricorn. The Sun conjuncts Mercury. One of the deadly sins is envy, assuming that someone’s conditions are far better than our own and our resenting them for it. Perception defines our reality and when we get into such a funk of jealousy, it would be wise for us to keep in mind the wise counsel of ‘walk a mile in their moccasins’. This is a day for us to back up, consider the many and varied blessings in our lives, and seek our own counsel. By reflecting on what we have achieved, we might realize how successful we have truly been on this earth life journey. While we may have certain responsibilities to fulfill today, both on a home and family level and also our professional duties and tasks, we can also take into account future options that would allow us to spread our wings and fully engage our creative talents. We are only limited by our own sense of constraints and restrictions. In this day and age of paradigm shift, let’s always keep in mind that we no longer have to make things happen [as if we ever truly could] but that we are in truth the co-designers of our journey with the universal unfolding, which provides the twists and turns along our pathway with surprising and exciting opportunities. We do not have to do it all, but we do need to keep our antennae up regarding possibilities, even the seemingly impossible.
Thursday, August 9th – Banging Up Against It – Neptune, Pluto, Moon Void-of-Course, Venus, Saturn. The Moon in Cancer trines Neptune and the Moon opposes Pluto early in the day. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for over sixteen and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Cancer and before the Moon enters Leo early on Friday morning. Venus squares Saturn. The push – pulls of yesterday with our desires to embrace summertime fun daunted by our sense of obligations and tasks to be done could continue on this Thursday. We may feel that no matter what we do and no matter how much we accomplish there is always something further demanding our attention. Although taking ‘time outs’ today would alleviate some of the pain and suffering of thinking we are controlled by circumstance rather than master of our own being, yesterday and today may have us seeing the half glass of water more as half empty rather than half full. Going negative regarding our perspective would be a slippery slope of seeing things as bad and only worsening. Attitude and disposition are key elements in how our lives unfold. Being upbeat and even irrationally exuberant goes a long way towards creating positive circumstance. Anger and hostility salt the way for ever more contentious incidents. Wednesday and Thursday could have us feeling that we are being manipulated by circumstance. Let’s take a breather on these two days, keep in mind that Mercury is retrograde and that we are nearing the dark side of the Moon prior to Saturday’s New Moon and Solar Eclipse, and that we are at a time when it is far better to complete matters than to initiate, better to tweak and rework than to launch. We might even hear from someone from our past, the connection forcing us to take a walk down Memory Lane amidst bramble paths and with some form of demand even liable to be placed upon us.
Friday, August 10th – Hurry Up and Wait – Venus, Lunar Grand Cross, Mars, Uranus, Jupiter, Mercury. Friday has the Moon entering Leo with the Moon today sextile Venus and the Moon triggering a Fixed Sign Grand Cross with the Moon opposed Mars in Aquarius, the Moon square Uranus in Taurus, the Moon square Jupiter in Scorpio and the Moon conjunct Mercury. Even though we are on the dark side of the Moon prior to tomorrow’s New Moon, we could be scurrying around trying to accomplish any number of things. Whether we have children preparing for school orientations or school openings or not, all of us may be caught up in the sense of the impending autumn and the impelling sense of getting back on track with our regular routine. Unfortunately, we could experience any number of delays, frustrations in trying to get things done, and a liability of spending too much just to make the purchase rather than taking the time for comparison shopping. We might feel wound up tighter than a top with a sense that what we need to do is taking longer than we like with various curveballs thrown at us to either dodge or deal with. Recognizing the summer slipping away, we might wonder where summer has gone. Our inclination is to grab for the gusto this weekend with various fun events even if autumn obligations are imposing on our time and our plans. If we have only brief moments, interludes, in which to spend quality time with someone, the connection is far more important than not taking the time. There can be a staccato quality to this day, no matter how well planned or smoothly executed we try to be. The disjointedness of this day may demand patience and working in spurts of energy but also allows for those brief interludes of sharing quality time.
Saturday, August 11th – Spreading our Wings – Leo New Moon, Solar Eclipse, Sun, Moon Void-of-Course, Mercury, Jupiter. Friday has the Leo Moon conjunct the Sun at the time of the New Moon, a Solar Eclipse. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for eighteen hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Leo and before the Moon enters Virgo at the end of the day. The Sun Moon conjunction is in the second decanate of Leo, the Sagittarius influence. A sense of expansion even to the point of reckless abandon cannot be discounted but increased by Mercury square Jupiter today.
Although this energy configuration of the New Moon can trigger a highly creative period, a time when we look to put our personal mark on our activities and our projects, we have to be wary that we don’t run before we are truly able to walk. Our enthusiasm may know no bounds and with it a heavy dose of self-affirmation where we assume that whatever we do and how we might do it have the blessings of the higher forces and universal forces. And therein lies the rub. We could easily become enamored to the point of narcissism with our own talents and abilities that we lose sight of the conditions, circumstance and parameters of the environment in which we are operating. Let’s rein in our exuberance and maintain a rational approach to realizing our goals. Nonetheless, we are starting a two-week period when we can be highly creative and expand our interests, even to the point of traveling distances whether physically or in our mind’s eye.
Sunday, August 12th – Back on Track with Head in the Game. Lunar Grand Trine, Uranus, Saturn, Mars Capricorn. Sunday has the Virgo Moon triggering an Earth Grand Trine with the Moon trine Uranus in Taurus and the Moon trine Saturn in Capricorn. Mars retrogrades out of Aquarius back into Capricorn thereby re-creating the Capricorn Stellium powerpack as Mars joins Saturn and Pluto in the Cardinal Earth Sign. Today’s strong earthy and practical focus combines with yesterdays New Moon influence to make this day a highly productive and creative one. We can accomplish a great deal in strategizing our goals and drawing upon both our experience and innovative ways to achieve successful results. Even if life is distracting us from concentrating on our long-term ambitions, even giving momentary consideration of where we wish to go could provide insights as to the best route to take regarding an expedient itinerary and worthy destination. Autumn is fast approaching and this day is likely to imbue us with solid self-confidence and focused intent. This Sunday can be a day when we are either getting back on track or putting our head in the game to get back on track and is likely the strongest and most effective day of this week.
