The astrology for this week of August 27th through September 2nd can have us navigating various twists and turns as we go through the week to come to the Labor Day holiday weekend in the US, often considered the unofficial end to the summer season.
We begin the week with a thrust of energy as Mars turns from retrograde to direct motion in Capricorn, accentuating the Stellium of three planets in the Cardinal Earth Sign – Mars, Saturn and Pluto. This shift in energy also gives more of a thrust to the Earth Grand Trine with the three Capricorn-transiting planets, the Sun in Virgo and Uranus in Taurus.
This week can be a highly productive week, a week when we can move mountains. While we might feel that we can force things to successful results just by our will, it would be far wiser for us not to get carried away with ourselves but instead to work smarter rather than harder.
Although the wind may seem to be to our back, we could still have some curveballs thrown at us.
The beginning of the week could have us planning our trajectory. Initiations and launchings can come mid-week. We might be confident about our abilities, but a little humility would go a long way to achieving our desired results. No stepping on toes this week! It wouldn’t serve us to antagonize anyone nor would there be any point to it.
The end of the week and early part of the weekend may have us shopping for those autumn necessities, whether wardrobe, makeover, or equipment for home projects.
Saturday, the 1st of September, has Mercury coming out from under its ‘shadow’ of the Mercury retrograde, returning to the degree where Mercury first turned retrograde in late July.
This weekend is also the long Labor Day holiday weekend in the US, often considered the unofficial end of the summer season. We may look to the weekend to go out on a summer high note with us scrambling for the last embers of summertime fun events.
This week can have us feeling a push pull between getting back on track of our routine activities, all the while that we are looking to squeeze the last gusto out of our summer season recreational activities.
Monday, August 27th – Attending to the Details – Neptune, Jupiter, Pluto, Mars direct. The week begins with the Moon in Pisces with the Moon today conjunct Neptune, the Moon trine Jupiter and the Moon sextile Pluto. Mars turns direct. Our emotions can be heightened as we begin the week with a tendency towards irrational exuberance. Our appetites can be large today with little concern or forethought to the costs involved. We could feel like we have gained a second wind. We might feel that by intention and good luck on our side we can virtually move mountains and arrive at our desired results. And to some degree, we might be able to do so. If we would take the time to concentrate on what we want to do and consider how best to go about doing it, all the while that we try to be resourceful, we can focus on the most significant projects without letting any minor detail fall between the cracks. The key to this day is to avoid assuming that everything is going to fall neatly into place, even though it well might, and not to be too extravagant in our expenditures.
Tuesday, August 28th – Full Speed Ahead – Mars, Saturn, Mercury, Jupiter. Tuesday begins with the Moon finishing its transit of Pisces with the Moon sextile Mars. The Moon then moves into Aries where today the Moon squares Saturn. Mercury squares Jupiter. The thrust of energy that we might have felt yesterday with Mars turning direct gets an added push today. Not only are we likely to be feeling physically alive and energetic. We may also find ourselves feeling upbeat, optimistic and confident of our plans and intentions. We can start the day with a burst of positivity, assuming that everything will go right for us, and nothing can go wrong. It’s a great concept, and it’s always better to have a positive attitude than to be an Eeyore and whine and moan about all the things wrong in our world. There are too many downers giving voice to their depressive disappointments. Why go there when each of us has certain personal blessings in our lives? It is important, downright essential, for us to keep aware of our environment, the circumstance and conditions in which we find ourselves. If we become too Pollyannaish with the belief that we are in total control of our situation, we could run straight into a brick wall of hard, cold reality. Even though the latter part of the day might take the wind out of our sails, we could view any delays or frustrations or blockages as but an opportunity to temper our enthusiasm, hone our concentration, keep aware of our surroundings and tweak what we are doing and how we are doing it.
Wednesday, August 29th – Regrouping. Wednesday continues with the Aries Moon, but the Moon today makes no connections to the planets. The past two days could have had us going full on, virtually moving mountains, no matter the debris we left in our wake. Late Tuesday, we might have hit a wall, felt blocked by demands placed upon us and frustrated by things not going as swimmingly as we perceived them to do earlier in the day and on Monday. Wednesday can be a day for us to slow things down, rework what we might have engaged over the past two days, or just take time for our own ‘mental health’ day. Wednesday can be a fun day, no matter what our routine responsibilities might be. We could have accomplished a great deal over the past two days and in an accelerated manner to leave ourselves some unscheduled time or blank space on this Wednesday. Whatever we choose to do on this Wednesday, having some ‘me’ time and enjoying ourselves are prescribed. We can so easily get caught up in the rapid pace of our lives that it’s a rarity for us to slow down and take time to relax and re-create. This Wednesday is one of those days for a ‘time out’.
Thursday, August 30th – Every Which Way But Loose – Mercury, Lunar T-Square, Pluto, Venus, Mars. The Moon continues its transit of Aries on this Thursday. Compared to yesterday, the energy ramps up today. The Aries Moon today trines Mercury and the Moon triggers a Cardinal Sign T-Square with the Moon opposed Venus in Libra and the Moon square both Pluto and Mars in Capricorn. We may think that we’ve got clear sailing. We might not see any clouds on the horizon. But once we launch forward today, the conditions can radically change. Things we have to do could get in our way. Someone’s incessant demands can steer us off course. This is a day when we may easily get tripped up. Our head might not be in the game. On the contrary, we can be wishing to get out of town, take a very long holiday weekend, but something or someone seems to hold us back. Let’s do what needs to get done before heading out, if we wish to slip away and enjoy a very long holiday weekend. We can easily justify putting up the ‘gone fishing’ sign with the excuse that this is the last real summer weekend. Late in the day, the Moon exits Aries to enter Taurus. If we haven’t made our escape early and hastily, we could be a lot more grounded and realistic about taking things step by step.
Friday, August 31st – Neatly Together – Uranus, Lunar Grand Trine, Saturn, Sun. If we didn’t take a powder yesterday and jump the gun by getting out of Dodge or closing up shop of our routine affairs in order to take a very long holiday weekend, this Friday is a primo, productive day. The Taurus Moon today conjuncts Uranus and the Moon triggers an Earth Grand Trine with the Taurus Moon trine Saturn in Capricorn and the Moon trine the Sun in Virgo. We could devise interesting and innovative strategies by which to advance our interests and accomplish our mundane affairs. We could get a lot done today. We can draw upon trusted methods, tweak them with new techniques or new technologies and find that things are truly fitting neatly together. Much may be accomplished today. We’re operating at the top of our game, feel passionate about what we are doing and able to virtually move mountains without a great deal of stress or strain. This Earth Grand Trine has been operational since last week and will continue in effect until the Autumn Equinox on September 22nd, but there are only certain days when this Earth Grand Trine is accentuated, and this Friday the 31st is one of them. Let’s not waste the great opportunities.
Saturday, September 1st – Too Big, Too Much – Neptune, Pluto, Lunar T-Square, Jupiter, Mercury. We could be priding ourselves by how much we got done yesterday. It may have seemed like easy sledding, even to the point that we were just sitting in the passenger seat and letting the universal energies do the driving. This Saturday might continue in the same vein, if we embrace humility and not get carried away with ourselves. The Taurus Moon today sextiles Neptune and the Moon trines Pluto. We could easily replicate some of yesterday’s energy with a little forethought, planning and focusing on the truly important. With such a disposition, we could say ‘what a wonderful world’. And it would be, but where a problem arises is where problems often arise — with the human ego. Based upon the ease of yesterday, we could easily accept a belief that we made it happen rather than recognizing the ease of conditions and greased wheels of circumstance that allowed us to be so effective and productive yesterday. Today, apart from the Moon’s sextile to Neptune and trine to Pluto, the Moon also triggers a Fixed Sign T-Square with the Taurus Moon opposed Jupiter in Scorpio and the Moon square Mercury in Leo. Thanks to these energies, we might take on an attitude that was often described when we were children of ‘being too big for our britches’. Overconfidence, arrogance and narcissism might creep in and trigger a belief that we can conquer the world with the effect of us trying to do too much. Yes, the too muches could be on display today — spending too much, taking on too much, ingesting too much. We might be in a celebratory mood, ready to party all the time, and looking for good times with good friends, but let’s at least keep in mind that actions have consequences. Hopefully, we can minimize the excesses of today.
Sunday, September 2nd – Off to the Races – Mars, Sun. Late Saturday, early Sunday, the Taurus Moon trines Mars. The Moon then moves into Gemini where today the Moon squares the Sun. While we could have had some sort of wakeup call regarding any overreach we might have done on Saturday, unfortunately the realization may be too brief and too inconsequential to slow us down on this Sunday. With the Moon in Gemini all bets are off regarding concentrated focus. Instead, we might be all over the place. It’s a long holiday weekend in the US, the holiday weekend considered to be the unofficial end to the summer season, and this Sunday could have us grabbing for all the gusto and then some. The push pull between focused intent that was strong on Friday and some of Saturday and the desire for a summer event blowout in the dying embers of summertime that we felt yesterday and today can have the latter winning out on this Sunday. We are less interested in the details or what we feel we should be doing and far more interested in savoring all the delicacies of different events and engagements that this day may provide. And why not? Summer is not lasting forever, so we might as well go out on a high note of summertime fun recreational activities.
