August 20th – 26th, 2018

The astrology for this week of August 20th through the 26th of 2018 allows us to exhale a deep sigh of relief and even to the extreme of singing: “Ding, dong! The wicked witch is dead.”

Yes, Mercury ended its three-week retrograde cycle late Saturday, early Sunday morning. And what a Mercury retrograde this one has been! I heard it from other people and experienced it for myself with this past Mercury retrograde being one hellacious experience of miscommunications, misunderstandings and misstatements.

Among some of the screw-ups these past few weeks, I experienced:

• An illicit charge on my credit card that I disputed for not having made any such charge nor having ever bought anything from the particular vendor only to have the credit card company investigate the claim and then to receive word to the credit card company from the merchant that the charge was appropriate. In calling the merchant in question, they refused to indicate who authorized the charge nor to inform me whom the recipient of the merchandise might have been save for telling me it was delivered to someone somewhere in Colorado. I now have to dispute the charge yet again with the credit card company.
• A $150 charge for regular lab testing that never had a charge previously entailed my calling my health insurance provider who was eventually able to correct the charge with my now owing $2.00 as a co-pay instead of the $150.00.
• A doctor’s office bill for a monitoring device that I was told by the doctor would have no cost and no co-pay associated with it only to find out in my questioning the bill that every time I walk into the office for any type of service institutes a co-pay on my part.

Perhaps you were able to skate through this Mercury retrograde unscathed, but keep in mind that we shall be in the Mercury retrograde ‘shadow’ until September 1st when Mercury returns to its degree where it had first turned retrograde. Let’s maintain vigilance, be astute and careful in what we do and how we do it.

This week finishes up the Sun’s transit of Leo with the Sun entering Virgo late on Wednesday, early Thursday. In many parts of the country, school has already started as of this past week. For each of us, this week might have us feeling the dying embers of summertime and the rapid approach of the autumn. The push pull between enjoying warm weather activities and getting back into our regular routine might seem like a tug-of-war this week, but one that increasingly has us feel the pull to get back on track.

Much of this week can have us more focused on our goals and developing the template for our year ahead. We might be interested in what we have to do regarding our routine tasks, yet at the same time with an eye to future developments we may wish to pursue.

This week can be highly productive. Some of our productivity and effectiveness could be more associated with cleaning up the messes from the previous three weeks under Mercury retrograde than launching new projects, but we are still likely to have time for our startups and initiations.

The sense of taking care of business and working towards our goals may be accentuated as the Sun moves into Virgo late Wednesday, early Thursday with the Sun’s transit through Virgo triggering a Grand Trine in the Earth element highlighted on Saturday with the Sun trine Uranus in Taurus and the Sun trine Saturn in Capricorn. For much of the next four weeks up until the Autumn Equinox and the official end of Summer, we shall be influenced by an Earth Grand Trine, which speaks to the possibility of great manifestations — our being able to help make things happen.

The weekend can be a highly productive weekend with the Sun exactly triggering the Earth Grand Trine whereby we can blend old and new and do so with due diligence and our focus on the specifics.

The Pisces Full Moon on Sunday offers us the opportunity of drawing upon our visionary foresight and combining it with a practical approach. Our emotions can be accentuated with dramatic mood swings. We do have to be wary of our sensitivity and any liability to hyper criticism, whether we are the critic or the criticized. Relationships could prove dicey to end the weekend but hopefully without ending the relationship.

Monday, August 20th – Me Time – Sun. We start the week and the first week since ending the three-week Mercury retrograde cycle with the Moon in Sagittarius and late in the day the Moon trine the Sun. Whether we are back on track with our regular routine or luxuriating in summertime activities, we start the week wanting some ‘me’ time, time to do what we want. This is a day when we can explore creative venues for our own self-expression. We may be feeling dramatic, liberated from the craziness of the past few weeks, and ready to soar with the eagles. We could leave behind our cares and woes by getting out of town and giving ourselves a fresh perspective on life and the options ahead of us. Or we might hunker down and concentrate on our personal interests that we feel passionate about. Late in the day, the Moon moves into Capricorn initiating a week when our focus may be on our being productive and taking care of our responsibilities. But this Monday might provide us a pleasant respite when we choose to do whatever we want to do without feeling overwhelmed by our usual obligations.

Tuesday, August 21st – Doing It Differently – Uranus, Saturn. Tuesday has the Moon in Capricorn with the Moon today trine Uranus and the Moon conjunct Saturn. We might feel back in harness, and it would be wise for us to consider so. Today and the rest of the week allow us to be highly productive and successful in our efforts. Even if we have to attend to routine matters, we might look for more streamlined methods or new ways of doing things. This is a day when we can start to be more effective with less expenditure of energy. Einstein is credited with saying that the definition of insanity is ‘doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results’. We might prefer new ways of doing our routine tasks today, but with a liability of falling back into old habits. Even if we shy away from new methods, by at least attempting different trajectories we open the door to possibilities that we might not have otherwise considered. Sometimes we just need to put our toes in the water, test things out, before diving into the deep end and engaging radically altered systems. We can try out new approaches today with the appreciation that while we might not be ready to fully embrace such ways, we become familiar with options and alternatives to our old methodologies.

Wednesday, August 22nd – Outside the Box – Venus, Neptune, Jupiter, Pluto. Wednesday is the last day of the Sun’s transit through Leo and just before the Sun enters Virgo late today, early Thursday. With the Sun’s entrance into Virgo, a Grand Trine in the Earth element is created and a Grand Trine that will influence us for the next four weeks. Today might provide us something of a prelude to the Great Manifestation in which we could participate during the Earth Grand Trine influence. The Moon in Capricorn today squares Venus, the Moon sextiles Neptune in Pisces and the Moon sextiles Jupiter in Scorpio, and the Moon conjuncts Pluto. This is a day when we might have to go it alone and discount what someone close to us has to say. The 22nd being numerologically a Master Number of the Master Builder we can devise the right template by which to accomplish our most significant goals in an expeditious and insightful manner. By drawing upon our intuitive sense and being consciously resourceful we can come up with a best practices approach to realize our dreams. Although someone might assume that they have a better idea, this is a day for us to trust our instincts and appreciate the process of going from the abstract of concept through the implementation into the manifestation. As the saying goes: “Rome wasn’t built in a day”. And so it is for us, the importance of appreciating the process and the stages of development that begin with the initial idea. Today, we could develop the idea that we wish to develop over the next few weeks.

Thursday, August 23rd – Slow Down, You Move Too Fast – Mars, Uranus, Sun Virgo. Thursday begins with the Capricorn Moon conjunct Mars. The Moon then moves into Aquarius where today the Moon squares Uranus. Late Wednesday, early Thursday the Sun exits Leo and enters Virgo. With the Sun entering Virgo we now have the Earth Grand Trine that impels us toward manifestation, getting down to business and doing what needs to be done in association with our mundane matters. We could be fast out of the gate today with a desire to accomplish as much as humanly, or more likely superhumanly, possible. Let’s not rush things today but instead prioritize our schedule and our various intended activities. As the day progresses, our mind can wander into the realm of limitless possibilities and we could find ourselves making impulse purchases or being diverted into expensive distractions. This may be a day when we focus on matters at hand early in the day and then go off on a lark the remainder of the day but with our budgeted finances in hand. If we feel hampered by our obligations or back on track too soon, we could suddenly take a powder, choose to take off out of town and find ourselves going from pillar to post without any itinerary in mind. This is a day for us to slow down and not move too fast.

Friday, August 24th – Too Many, Too Much – Lunar T-Square, Mercury, Jupiter. Friday has the Aquarius Moon triggering a Fixed Sign T-Square later in the day with the Moon opposed Mercury and the Moon square Jupiter. Things may go along relatively well during much of this day, although we could put an awful lot on our plate. And therein lies a problem. We could determine so much that we want to do on this Friday that we find ourselves juggling any number of matters but without due diligence or consideration of the costs involved. The paradox is that the more we do or try to do, the longer things might seem to take. We could easily exhaust ourselves by the end of the day. Let’s be wary of mixed messages, especially suggestions that seem to offer us a more effective trajectory. If we take on too many and try to do too much today, we could create a heap full of trouble for ourselves, even to the point of winding ourselves up in a muddled mess. Today might be better served in spreading all our various options out without selecting or eliminating any. We can be more discerning and selective over the weekend and during next week. Trying to focus today can have us concentrating on those things that seem possible, even if implausible, with our giving more weight to our wishful thinking rather than intense scrutiny.

Saturday, August 25th – Firing on All Cylinders – Venus, Moon Void-of-Course, Solar Grand Trine, Sun, Uranus, Saturn. Saturday begins with the Aquarius Moon trine Venus. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for twenty-five hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Aquarius and before the Moon enters Pisces early on Sunday morning. The highlight of the day is the Earth Grand Trine accentuated by the Virgo Sun trine Uranus in Taurus and the Sun trine Saturn in Capricorn. Although there may not be a great deal of energy on the external level on this Saturday, due to the Void-of-Course Moon, that doesn’t negate the possibility of our running around today. The main event is the Solar Grand Trine and we could feel bolstered in our intentions to draw upon past experience yet explore new trajectories for ourselves. Whether we are back in the routine of our everyday life or not, we can be giving thought to what we want to do and the way we may want to do it. We might feel far more emboldened that our goals are realizable and can be realized in far more effective ways than what we might have employed in times past. This Saturday would be a good day for us to step off the track, get into unfamiliar terrain and consider our hopes and wishes. Let’s keep in mind that we don’t need to know every iota of our planned itinerary, but that the journey begins with a first step and the journey itself will have a life of its own with its own twists and turns and unexpected ways of progressing along the way.

Sunday, August 26th – Kites Are Fun – Uranus, Saturn, Pisces Full Moon, Sun, Kite Chart, Venus, Pluto. Sunday has the Moon exiting Aquarius to enter Pisces early in the day. The Pisces Moon opposes the Sun at the time of the Pisces Full Moon and triggers the Earth Grand Trine and also creates a Kite pattern chart with the Sun’s Earth Grand Trine of yesterday still in orb and the Pisces Moon sextile Uranus in Taurus and the Moon sextile Saturn in Capricorn. Later in the day, Venus squares Pluto. While our emotions can be stoked today, so too could our visionary sense. With foresight and a focused practical approach, we can determine a best practices approach by which to accomplish our plans. This Sunday can be a highly effective day if we can avoid dramatic mood swings. Let’s be wary of any parade rainers today. Someone might try to scotch our plans or come up with all sorts of reasons that we shall be unable to achieve our goals. It would be important not to give much credence to any naysayer, for these times talk about things occurring in a most mysterious, magical, even miraculous way.
