The astrology for this week of July 30th through the 5th of August gives us the first full week of the Mercury retrograde with an intense accident-prone energy configuration mid-week.
This is a week that calls for patience and caution in anything and everything that we do. Such a suggestion may be lost on deaf ears, as we all scramble to get more summertime fun in the sun.
The week begins with our emotions heightened. This past Friday’s Full Moon and Lunar Eclipse could have knocked some of us for a loop, especially with Mercury having turned retrograde the day before.
The early part of the week can have us seeking escapes, whether we get away or stay around home. Not that we are likely to be hiding out. We just might not want to push ourselves or feel the need to extend ourselves. This is a time for us to work smarter rather than harder and be more effective with less expenditure of energy.
More than once we could find ourselves daydreaming, imagining worlds beyond our present reality and enjoying the mental escape from our usual framework.
The mid-week demands that we be cautious and not impulsive or impetuous. We need to be especially careful around machinery and heavy equipment. Missteps could prove damaging, even catastrophic. We also need to be aware of the liability of someone acting out of character and truly acting out.
The end of the week and the weekend would be times for us to clean up, straighten out and prepare for the autumn ahead. There can be back-to-school shopping sales and even tax-free holidays on school supplies over the weekend [certainly happening here in Florida statewide].
We end the week and the weekend far more together, focused and capable than we might have been at times over the week. Despite the Mercury retrograde, we can present ourselves in a well put together manner, and we could accomplish a great deal of important matters.
No matter how disturbing things may SEEM, it is important to recognize the magic and mini-miracles of this paradigm shift where sequential, linear reality gives ways to asequential reality where things can happening in a most unexpected, magical manner. I’ve always believed in the power of prayer and intention, experienced it with my own magical recovery from my car accident in ’95 when I was broadsided by a tractor trailer going 65 miles an hour and my own miraculous recovery from the medical diagnosis of anticipated paralysis, and witnessed again with the amazing and stunning recovery of the Thai boys from the cave. Always best to keep in mind the power of faith — you gotta believe.
Monday, July 30th – Gently, Strongly – Uranus, Saturn, Jupiter. Monday begins the week with the Moon in Pisces and the Moon today sextile Uranus in Taurus, the Moon sextile Saturn in Capricorn and the Moon trine Jupiter in Scorpio. By drawing upon the innovative and our experience, we could easily put things together to make things happen. It is not a question of our control or our force accomplishing things. Rather, the more we can be ‘in the zone’ and receptive to alternate means, the more we can achieve on this Monday. This day might be a day when we witness the soft, the gentle and the intuitive to be stronger and more effective. Things never have to be hard, and this day may offer proof to that belief. Once set in motion, our operations can run smoothly today. We could gain a greater appreciation for being productive with less expenditure of energy.
Tuesday, July 31st – Awareness Despite the Naysayer – Neptune, Pluto, Venus, Moon Void-of-Course. Tuesday continues with the Pisces Moon with the Moon today conjunct Neptune, the Moon sextile Pluto and the Moon opposed Venus. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for twelve hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Pisces and before the Moon enters Aries early on Wednesday morning. The subtle but effective energies of yesterday continue on this Tuesday. Our intuitive sense is likely heightened and we might experience things fitting neatly into place with little effort on our part. A sense of ‘knowing without knowing’ can be strong today, and it would be wise for us to acknowledge and trust our inner voice. Taking the time to consider before acting could allow us to ‘feel’ the right course of action for us today. Almost sensing our priorities, we can be productive and accomplish a great deal and without a great deal of sweat. Whether we are addressing our usual responsibilities or we have taken off for some summer downtime, not everyone might appreciate our doing life with ease. Many of us have been conditioned into an assumption that ‘no pain, no gain’ and that we have to work, and work hard, to create the results we wish. Someone could read us the ‘riot act’ and suggest that we are lazing about and not dealing with our obligations responsibly. Let’s not be too impressionable to the judgments and opinions of someone who may only have blinders on and unable to see the mysteries, the magic and the mini-miracles of these times. It will be hard not to fall back into our old conditioning, and the test may come sooner rather than later.
Wednesday, August 1st – Pushback with Gusto – Mars, Saturn, Uranus. Monday and Tuesday may have been days when we weren’t pushing ourselves and as a result our being more receptive to things happening of their own accord and likely to be happening in a most effective manner. Whether we were attending to our normal routine or took off for a spiritual retreat of some sort, we might have noticed that things were flowing smoothly and easily without too great an input or effort on our part. We may have fully engaged the tenor of these times whereby we are becoming co-creators with the magical unfolding of the universe rather than trying to control every little aspect of our lives. Last night, we could have been reined in to the conditioned patterns of the past — our making things happen. This Wednesday could have us back trying to make things happen and assuming that we are in total control of our situations and circumstance. Wednesday has the Moon moving into Aries where today the Moon sextiles Mars and the Moon squares Saturn. Mars squares Uranus. Although we could assume that we can initiate actions without fully considering the ramifications or peripheral issues that might have an impact, our trying to force things and make things happen today may result in a nasty pushback. Our own whims and desires could bang up against an impenetrable force today — the universe. This is a day for us not to rush forward and believe that what we want is what we can get. The liability of trying too hard or forcing matters to our ways is putting ourselves in harm’s way. Impetuous actions might result in nasty accidents. Let’s be especially careful around machinery and heavy equipment today. We need to be cautious in our actions today and maintain mindfulness and awareness. People can be acting out today with unexpected and distressing results to their actions.
Thursday, August 2nd – Smarter Not Harder – Sun, Pluto, Mercury, Moon Void-of-Course. If we would rein in any tendency to leap before we look, we could plan out our today’s trajectory whereby we can put our personal mark upon things, present ourselves in a dramatic and assertive manner and move things forward. The key is to think before we act, strategize before we implement, and be fully aware of our audience before we speak. Thursday has the Aries Moon trine the Sun early in the day, the Moon square Pluto late in the day, with the day ending with the Moon trine Mercury before the Moon goes Void-of-Course for seventeen hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Aries and before the Moon enters Taurus on Friday afternoon. We may feel inspired and creative on this Thursday. Whether we participate in creative projects, observe fun events or engage re-creational pursuits, this day starts with us feeling good and probably looking good too. We could be more focused on what we want to do on this Thursday with a liability of glossing over or putting aside our usual tasks. While we can be enamored with our interests and our desires, it would be wise for us to keep track of our expenses and our commitments. We may feel that we can take the world by storm. Trying to do too much could wind up costing us financially and may have us neglecting significant details. The image might be great, but let’s be certain that the substance matches the appearance.
Friday, August 3rd – Twists and Turns – Moon Void-of-Course, Mars, Uranus, Saturn. Friday begins with the Aries Moon Void-of-Course and the Moon not making any connections to the planets until the Moon moves into Taurus later in the day and in the late day hours the Taurus Moon square Mars, the Moon conjunct Uranus and the Moon trine Saturn. This day may begin slowly at least as far as our dealing with our usual routine. If we can spend the early part of the day on a grand adventure, that would be our preference and it might prove useful for recharging our batteries and reinvigorating us. Late in the day, we may have certain obligations to meet. Let’s not resent any previous commitments, for we could discover that plans we would prefer to skip turn out to be exciting with unexpected attributes that might be thrilling. Magic is afoot, and we could have one of those ‘ah-ha’ moments that allow us to see how we can put various pieces neatly together into a puzzle that had been perplexing us. The interesting thing about life nowadays is the unanticipated twists and turns that living seems to be taking. What we see may not be what we get but could actually open the door to surprising and more thrilling scenarios.
Saturday, August 4th – Push and Pull – Lunar T-Square, Sun, Jupiter, Neptune. Saturday continues with the Taurus Moon with the Moon today triggering a Fixed Sign T-Square with the Taurus Moon square the Sun in Leo, and the Moon opposed Jupiter in Scorpio. The Moon sextiles Neptune to end the day. We may have various matters to attend to, which could force us to put our pleasurable activities aside and concentrate on the specifics of our ‘to do’ list. In order to accomplish things and still have time to have some fun, we might have the tendency, more likely a liability, of skipping over the things we are intending to do. Let’s keep in mind the idiom that ‘haste makes waste’. If we do half-hearted attempts at the varied items on our ‘to do’ list, we might have to redo them later on and at a considerable greater cost. Things may take longer than we like. Patience is called for. Otherwise, we are liable to be frustrated, leave things unfinished and pay more than necessary. Let’s do what we have to do today or put off until tomorrow. Since getting things done today may seem like rolling a boulder up a mountain, we are likely to have far better luck tomorrow when today’s Fixed Sign T-Square gives way to an Earth Grand Trine. Today, we could be Sisyphus-like rolling the boulder up the mountain only to have it fall back down. Tomorrow, we might be able to winch the boulder up the mountain swiftly and easily. Astrology is all about timing and working with the ‘right’ timing. The evening hours can provide a pleasant ‘time out’ of relaxing and enjoying ourselves.
Sunday, August 5th – Smooth Sailing – Mercury, Lunar Grand Trine, Pluto, Venus. Sunday has the Taurus Moon square Mercury and the Moon triggering an Earth Grand Trine as the Taurus Moon trines Pluto in Capricorn and the Moon trines Venus in Virgo. The Moon then moves into Gemini late in the day. If we don’t get ahead of ourselves, start grandstanding or be too obstreperous, then this day can be smooth sailing as we glide through the day putting things together neatly and expeditiously. As long as we don’t stand in our own way, we could prioritize our projects, streamline our methods and complete various matters quickly and in a substantive manner and all with great style and appealing presentation.
