The astrology for this week of July 23rd through the 29th of 2018 suggests we lower our expectations of other people and also cut ourselves a great deal of slack.
People might have a lot on their plate as we start the week. If we could only fly away, absolve ourselves of commitments made, and just take off, out of town, we could be less stressed out by everything that is going on both in the world at large and in our personal world.
I often draw the analogy to a snowball going down a mountain, gathering mass and momentum, to become an avalanche. Life seems to be on that trajectory right now.
While intensity may be ratcheted up severalfold, clarity could truly be lacking.
Not only could we be juggling a great deal this week, but our focus can be distracted. We may feel uncomfortable in our own skin and desirous of stepping away, getting away, even taking on a new identity.
As the week progresses, we come to the second of this year’s three Mercury retrogrades, with Mercury turning retrograde in Leo for its three-week cycle akin to Murphy’s Law — we all know it by now — ‘whatever can go wrong could go wrong’.
This Mercury retrograde goes back through Leo so let’s be aware that we need to be cautious with our creative projects and how we present ourselves. Things can easily go awry. Let’s be certain that we check and re-check what we are doing and how we are doing it. People may be grandstanding with a liability towards parading around with much fanfare but in reality like the emperor with no clothes.
The end of the week crescendos with the Aquarius Full Moon and a Lunar Eclipse. The intensity ratchets up, and our actions can be impetuous. This is a time when it is essential that we think before we act. People may be over the top pontificating as though having a direct line to the higher forces [a.k.a god].
The weekend seems to bookend the beginning of the week, and might have us calling out: “Stop the world! I want to get off.” Taking time to get away or just doing things impulsively without any sense of obligation or commitment might be a happy respite to take the edge off.
Monday, July 23rd – Anywhere But Here – Lunar T-Square, Venus, Neptune. Monday and Tuesday have a strong Venus Neptune energy configuration and with it a liability of infatuation that is groundless. We could be over the moon about someone, but we might learn that someone to be a trickster, someone appearing one way the reality quite different. Relationships can be dicey Monday and Tuesday. People may have unrealistic expectations of each other and be sorely disappointed when the illusions don’t match the experience. Monday has the Sagittarius Moon triggering a Mutable Sign T-Square with the Moon square Venus in Virgo and the Moon square Neptune in Pisces. This is a day when our best approach would be to head off for far distant places. If we stick around our neighborhood, it may be more like Eddie Murphy’s Mister Robinson’s Neighborhood rather than Fred Rogers’ Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood. We have to be wary of demands placed upon us, demands we place upon someone else, or the demands we place upon ourselves. No drawing lines in the sand today, for the consequences could have lasting effects. We may be running around today and unless we make a plan of our intended action we might wind up running around in circles.
Tuesday, July 24th – Call for Clarity – Mercury, Moon Void-of-Course, Uranus, Venus, Neptune. Yesterday we had the Moon in Sagittarius square Venus in Virgo and the Moon square Neptune in Pisces. Today, we have Venus opposed Neptune. We continue with relationship matters. We may need reality, or at least time, to allow us to see what is really going on in our interactions with other people. What we see might not be what we get in our personal contacts. Fortunately, the Sagittarius Moon trines Mercury today, and we could sort things out by speaking our truth and focusing on transparency. As the day progresses, the Moon goes Void-of-Course for almost thirteen and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Sagittarius and before the Moon enters Capricorn where late in the day the Moon trines Uranus. While we may need to be judicious with whom we share our deepest secrets, we could be feeling quite upbeat and wanting to concentrate on our own creative ventures. Our presentations can be inspiring. We just need to judge our audience and their receptivity to what we wish to discuss. With our self-expressive juices flowing for much of this day, we can put spirit into action late in the day and devise a unique and streamlined manner by which to accomplish our goals.
Wednesday, July 25th – Ties that Bind – Saturn, Jupiter, Sun, Uranus. We might begin this Wednesday feeling tied to our responsibilities and restricted by our past. Early on this Wednesday, the Capricorn Moon conjuncts Saturn. Late in the day, the Capricorn Moon sextiles Jupiter. The Sun squares Uranus, the first part of the Sun triggering a Fixed Sign T-Square with the Leo Sun square Uranus in Taurus today, followed on Friday by the Sun opposed Mars in Aquarius. To add to the intensity and likely confusion, Mercury is about to turn retrograde tomorrow. Although we could feel blocked in our attempts to incorporate new ideas or start on new trajectories, the question of timing is everything. Last evening, we may have had one of those inspired insights regarding the how and where of our future goals, but we could recognize that getting from the abstract of concept into implementation and manifestation is a completely different story. Even if we have to deal with our mundane obligations on this Wednesday and feel hampered to take a different route, let’s not despair. Intention is the beginning of any journey. We could come up with any number of reasons why our life cannot possibly change from the track on which we’ve been. Let’s keep in mind that during this paradigm shift we do not have to do it all. The universe works, is our co-creator, and things now can happen in a most unexpected, even seemingly random, manner. By feeding our dreams without the expectation as to how and when they must manifest, we avow that our goals can in deed be realized. With Mercury about to turn retrograde in Leo, let’s appreciate the fact that delays may occur, things may become convoluted, and that the time of the Mercury retrograde might be better spent re-evaluating and tweaking areas of our life that aren’t quite working smoothly rather than moving aggressively forward with important decisions or significant commitments.
Thursday, July 26th – Slamming on the Brakes – Neptune, Venus, Pluto, Moon Void-of-Course, Mercury retrograde. Thursday has the Capricorn Moon sextile Neptune, the Moon trine Venus, and the Moon conjunct Pluto, all in the early morning hours. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for twenty-one hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Capricorn and before the Moon enters Aquarius early on Friday. This Thursday also has Mercury turning retrograde for its three-week retrograde cycle. By now, each of us is likely cognizant of Mercury retrograde and its similarity to Murphy’s Law of ‘whatever could go wrong can go wrong’. If Monday and Tuesday had disagreements with someone or with people in general, we might be able to clear the air on this Thursday. Eating some humble pie may go a long way in restoring harmony and appreciation with our personal interactions. Unfortunately, with Mercury turning retrograde, clarity can be lacking. We might feel as though the wind has been knocked out of our sails and our efforts nothing more than ‘the mouse that roared’. Thursday and Friday can be a real whipsaw with energy flying and us unable to easily navigate our path. This is a time for us to slow things down, become reflective without self-condemnation, and appreciate the essential process of germination and gestation before full development.
Friday, July 27th – Must All Hell Breaketh Loose – Lunar T-Square, Uranus, Mars, Sun, Aquarius Full Moon, Lunar Eclipse, Venus, Pluto. Friday can be one of those off-the-charts kind of day. We need to be careful and vigilant and keep aware of any ‘incoming’. This Friday has the Moon moving into Aquarius and triggering a Fixed Sign T-Square with the Aquarius Moon square Uranus in Taurus, the Moon conjunct Mars and the Moon opposed the Sun in Leo at the time of the Full Moon, a Lunar Eclipse. The Sun reinforces the Lunar T-Square with its finishing its own Fixed Sign T-Square, with the Sun having squared Uranus back on Wednesday and the Sun opposed Mars today. Add to the intensity the Mercury retrograde that began yesterday, and we might have one hell of an intense fireball burning down the house and then some. This day could prove quite INTENSE. The release of energy could be rather extreme with people acting without thinking, pushing the envelope and liable to be highly accident-prone. We might also experience various atmospheric storm systems with intense tornado-like winds and lightning bolts from the skies. Although I rarely suggest battening down the hatches, this Friday would be one to consider doing so. At the very least, we need to keep a rein on our emotions and especially our actions. People may be pushing the envelope, acting without thinking and creating havoc for themselves and everyone in their vicinity. This is a day to slow things down and not jump to conclusions. The blessing to this day occurs late on this Friday as Venus trines Pluto. Drawing upon wise input from a trusted confidante, we may be able to straighten things out, dampen the intensity of this day and take a longer look as to where we want to go in the future. Although the river may seem to be threatening with whitewater rapids today, this is one day when it would be wise not to rush the river.
Saturday, July 28th – Après le Déluge – Jupiter. If we didn’t take a header yesterday and got through the day unscathed, this Saturday is a day when we might choose to treat our self. Today and tomorrow bring the energy down several notches and allow us to get a grip. The Aquarius Moon squares Jupiter today. After a week of high intensity, which could have had us tumbling and stumbling, this Saturday could be a day when we choose to do whatever we want to do. We might put our errands and obligations on the back burner with the appreciation that we truly need a ‘mental health’ weekend. While we would prefer to do things today and tomorrow in a most spontaneous manner with a dose of serendipity thrown in, we do need to be wary that we don’t overspend today. Our tendency may be to do what we want to do with little regard to the expense. Let’s enjoy ourselves over this weekend but also keep in mind that often ‘the best things in life are free’. No need to pay too much to have a good time. Simplicity might be called for. As we know from intense atmospheric systems, after the storm comes the calm. This weekend provides us the calming effect.
Sunday, July 29th – Whichever Way the Wind Blows – Mercury, Moon Void-of-Course. Sunday continues with the catch-up and restoration of our sanity during this ‘mental health’ weekend. The day begins with the Aquarius Moon opposed Mercury. The Moon then goes void-of-course for fourteen hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Aquarius and before the Moon moves into Pisces late in the day. Whatever our plans for this Sunday might be, it would be wise for us to be flexible and adaptable to changing conditions. If we could have this day as a blank slate whereby we draw upon it what we might choose to do spur-of-the-moment or not even draw upon the board at all and instead just hang and chill that would likely be our preference. We don’t want to be hemmed in by commitments or plans already made. We would far prefer taking this day as it comes. We might want to be out and about, and if we do so, we may be like a butterfly alighting briefly in one spot before flying to another, alighting briefly, and moving on. If we choose to go on a grand adventure today, we are likely to do so with many stops along the way. The adventure today lies in the journey rather than the expectations or any planned itinerary.
