The astrology for this week of July 16th through the 22nd of 2018 calls for us to get our house in order, tie up loose ends and bring completion to significant issues, all in preparation for the second of this year’s three Mercury retrogrades, which begins next week.
The week starts with the Earth Grand Trine accented. We can accomplish a great deal at the beginning of the week, so long as we prioritize, concentrate on the specifics and not get distracted by fascinating diversions.
The energy flows and ebbs this week. We may want to spend time with a special someone and enjoy consideration of travel plans or short get-aways. When we’re hot, we are likely to be on full boil and get a lot done, but when we’re not, we might prefer leisurely relaxations.
The latter part of the week might be a time when we go into overdrive to attend to family matters and clear out some of our accumulated messes. A good inventory-taking and clean up of our space late in the week and the early part of the weekend would then allow us a get-away and stretch our wings on Sunday, the day that brings closure to the Sun’s transit of Cancer with the Sun entering Leo.
We may be looking for a hot time in the summertime, but we might also have the sense that autumn is approaching. Already, store shelves are stocking back-to-school items and autumn wardrobes. Obligations for our autumn could be haunting, but they might also impel us to grab all the gusto that we can before summer ends.
Monday, July 16th, 2018 – Effective with Great Panache – Venus, Jupiter, Neptune, Pluto. Monday starts the week with us able to put things together effectively and with style and not allow anything to fall between the cracks. The Virgo Moon today conjuncts Venus, sextiles Jupiter, opposes Neptune and trines Pluto. Five planets are in the Earth Signs with the Earth Grand Trine of Uranus in Taurus, Venus and the Moon both in Virgo, and Saturn and Pluto both in Capricorn. Manifestation is the key word for this day. We may have nose to grindstone, but such a disposition would go a long way to successful accomplishment. We might want to visualize and strategize our day before we spring to it. Our time management skills can be highly attuned today with us being highly productive. We just need to put the horse before the cart by planning before implementing and maintaining a tight schedule. If we can keep our focus and not be distracted, we could virtually move mountains today and more by winch than by strenuous effort.
Tuesday, July 17th – Changing Perspective – Sun, Moon Void-of-Course, Saturn. Hopefully, we accomplished a great deal yesterday, took care of business, tied up loose ends and concluded outstanding matters. Let’s keep in mind that next week Mercury turns retrograde for three weeks, a period when we might want to put on hold important decisions and significant purchases. Our viewpoint can change on this Tuesday. We begin the day with the Virgo Moon sextile the Sun. We might want to tidy up and straighten things around home. Family matters may demand our attention, and we can certainly address any significant issues. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for almost nine hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Virgo and before the Moon enters Libra where late in the day the Moon squares Saturn. Although we might want some ‘down’ time to relax and regroup, late in the day we could be called upon to deal with someone’s needs. There is nothing quite like someone calling in an I.O.U. when we would prefer to laze about and just enjoy ourselves without the overhanging sense of obligations.
Wednesday, July 18th – Someone To Watch Over Us – Mars. Wednesday has the Libra Moon trine Mars. This Wednesday can be a fun day to get together with someone who marches to their own drummer, does their own thing, and is willing to be quirky and known to be quite the character. The beauty of engaging people who are not cookie cut from a conventional mold is the fact that we can become aware of options and alternatives that we might not have taken into account and that might not be on the radar screen of general consensus. This is a day when we can remove the blinders and instead of merely looking straight ahead, we can draw upon peripheral vision and see what is usually beyond our frame of reference. This Wednesday may be an exciting day if we allow ourselves to be spontaneous and go from sampling one thing to another to another and so on. This Wednesday is best spent with a trusted friend in conversation or in journey to the wild and unexpected where excitement and thrilling opportunities might await.
Thursday, July 19th – Reined In – Mercury, Lunar T-Square, Pluto, Sun, Moon Void-of-Course. Thursday can have us pushed and pulled by something or someone other than our own personal interests and desires. The Libra Moon today sextiles Mercury and the Moon triggers a Cardinal Sign T-Square with the Libra Moon square Pluto in Capricorn and the Moon square the Sun in Cancer. This is a day that asks us to work smarter rather than harder. There may be endless demands on our time today — the usual responsibilities, outstanding matters and home or family issues. We could easily wear ourselves out if we don’t take the time to consider the most expeditious means to deal with the various pulls on us today. There can be a great deal of ‘incoming’ today, so it would be wise for us not to get overwhelmed but rather engage tai chi moves whereby we can handle any number of things by juggling and giving some slight attention to every single request for our involvement. Later in the day, the Moon goes Void-of-Course for almost five and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Libra and before the Moon moves into Scorpio in the evening hours.
Friday, July 20th – Everything But the Kitchen Sink – Lunar T-Square, Uranus, Mars, Saturn, Venus, Jupiter. Many of us live a high maintenance lifestyle. Even without intending to do so, our natural tendency, often turning into a liability, is to accumulate, buy and take on more… stuff. Often our stuff and its maintenance can take over our life, get in our way, and trip us up. Friday has the Scorpio Moon with the Moon triggering a Fixed Sign T-Square as the Scorpio Moon opposes Uranus in Taurus and the Moon squares Mars in Aquarius. The Moon sextiles Saturn in Capricorn and the Moon sextiles Venus in Virgo. We end the day with the Moon conjunct Jupiter. With a realization that all our stuff is highly costly and often ties us up in taking care of it, guarding it or keeping us from doing other things; this Friday may be a day when we consider a heavy duty inventory-taking with the intention of lightening our load. While the intention may be all well and good, our propensity today could be to get rid of as much stuff as possible. What we have to be wary of in our desire to eliminate and rid ourselves of what we consider to be the worn out, non-functional and hardly used is the likelihood that we could go to the extreme of virtually ‘throwing the baby out with the bath water’. It would be suggested that we seriously consider what we wish to be rid of before engaging the throwing away. Even if we feel that we’re taking a loss in getting rid of certain things, the sense of freeing ourselves up may be exhilarating. Of course, where a problem arises is that in creating a vacuum by eliminating certain things in our life we might choose to fill that void by buying new stuff or taking on certain obligations without fully considering the consequences. ‘Out with the old, in with the new’ could be our mantram to reinforce a high maintenance lifestyle but now only with new stuff.
Saturday, July 21st – Day for a Daydream – Neptune, Pluto, Mercury. Saturday has the Scorpio Moon trine Neptune, the Moon sextile Pluto and the Moon square Mercury. Saturday presents both an opportunity and a challenge. The opportunity lies in our willingness to trust our instincts, listen to our inner voice and devise a best practices approach to what we want to focus on. If we would take the time to think before we act, we can strategize and prioritize our actions for this Saturday. The challenge lies in our assuming total control over situations, believing that we can make things happen the way we want them to occur and getting in our own way with an unassailable belief in our own infallibility. Although we have been conditioned into accepting the idea that we are masters of our destiny and have to make things happen, the paradigm shift encourages us to recognize that we are co-creators with the universal unfolding of our life’s journey. This day gives us the opportunity to see how things work out if we don’t muck things up during the process. This is a good day for us to have some ‘alone’ time, to reflect, contemplate before we act.
Sunday, July 22nd – Here Comes the Sun – Sun, Mars, Venus, Jupiter, Sun Leo. Sunday can be an upbeat day. In this ever-changing, crazy-making, rapidly accelerating world of ours today, it is a welcome relief to have a respite from the intensity and bizarre antics. This Sunday could be one of those days when we can relinquish our anxieties, restore our sense of enthusiasm and re-create our well-being. In the early morning hours, the Scorpio Moon trines the Sun just prior to the Moon moving into Sagittarius and the Sun moving into Leo. The Moon in Sagittarius sextiles Mars. Venus sextiles Jupiter. And the Sun exits Cancer to enter Leo ending the Water Grand Trine that we have experienced for the past month and giving us an infusion of fire in our belly. This Sunday is a great day to spread our wings, engage activities that are new to our experience and enjoy the camaraderie of other people. Fun is the keyword for this day, and it would be suggested that we not limit ourselves to the familiar but rather explore the unique and exciting. To some large degree, we are at the height of the summer fun time so let’s embrace summertime activities with those people who put a smile on our face and enjoy the good things of life.
