June 25th – July 1st, 2018

The astrology for this week of June 25th through July 1st of 2018 demands that we keep our wits about us and cut ourselves a great deal of slack.

The week begins with us liable to go to extremes. Excess and indulgence can be our compadres as we look to expand our involvements and take on ever more. We could certainly put a strain on our finances. If we are planning summer getaways, it would be wise for us to be cost conscious, for our tendency, or rather liability, would be to go for broke and consider what appeals to us with little regard for the expense. Immediate gratification may take hold of us, and we need to realize that our appetites might be a reaction to our feeling stuck or in tough situations.

The mid-week period may be slow going with various delays and things taking longer than we would like. Old matters can get in our way and plans made long ago could seem more a chore and obligation than the fun they were intended.

Even though we have come into the Summer season, we could feel exhausted, even listless, without knowing why. Let’s not put too much on our plate, since we might have the sense of our walking through molasses with every step beleaguered and exhausting our resources.

The Full Moon may shine brightly mid-week, but the wind could be knocked out of our sails. Let’s take time to marvel at the Full Moon and enjoy the simple things of life — the natural beauty all around us. Walks by the seashore, around a lake or by a stream might provide us solace and comfort. We have to be wary that we don’t get so self-absorbed that we fall into a ‘poor me’ attitude and play the pity party. Nature is a great salve and nurturer and helps us come back to the beauty of life and living.

The latter part of the week and over the weekend can have us looking to have a good time, exploring unique experiences and putting our mark on our own creative projects or participating in re-creational activities. We need to avoid extreme sports however, since we might choose to push the envelope. Saturday has one of my least favorable energy configurations for air travel — Mercury square Uranus. Accidents could be prevalent but largely due to distractions and unexpected circumstance. The weekend calls for us to be attentive, backing things up on our computer and to be clear in our communications and cautious in our actions.

Monday, June 25th – All This and More – Mars, Venus, Jupiter. The week begins with the Moon entering Jupiter-ruled Sagittarius and the Moon sextile Mars. Venus squares Jupiter. If we have felt blocked and constricted recently, this Monday could have us loosening all ties, even the ties we might have placed on our credit cards to keep from spending. Today, all restraints may be off. This is a day when we can justify grand outlays, flamboyant presentations and a desire to go for the gold. Where a problem might arise is in our liability to excess and indulgence. Just because we want something and determine that we shall have that something, our attitude may be more immediate gratification than conscious choice. Impulse purchases could have long-term effects. It would be wise for us to budget our expenditures today and certainly keep all receipts. It might be a better idea for us to window shop rather than purchase, but if we go ahead with a purchase then keep the receipts in case we have buyer’s remorse shortly after purchase and once we sober up and realize what we might have done to our credit card balance. Monday is a day to rein in any irrational exuberance and not be snookered by insatiable appetites.

Tuesday, June 26th – Reined In – Venus, Neptune, Moon Void-of-Course, Mars retrograde. We might have started the week yesterday fast out of the starting gate on a wing and a prayer. We could have been hellbent to expand our involvements and broaden our reach and we might even have taken things to excess. Tuesday may start off that same way as the Sagittarius Moon trines Venus early in the day. The Moon then squares Neptune before the Moon goes Void-of-Course for almost twenty-seven hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Sagittarius and before the Moon enters Capricorn on Wednesday. Mars turns retrograde. These next few days may seem less like a walk in the park and more like a walk down a bramble path. There is not a great deal of energy to move things forward, and we might find our responsibilities and mundane affairs getting in our way. We could feel fatigued, exhausted by it all. And is it any wonder when what we hear is a continual barrage of Orwellian ‘newspeak’ that highlights only negatives, none of the positives. What if we were to turn off our obsession with all the world’s wrongs and turn our attention to the beauties and joys of life? Perhaps we should embrace the sentiments from the Louis Armstrong song What a Wonderful World and be thankful for all the blessings in our life.

Wednesday, June 27th – Respite from the Heaviness – Moon Void-of-Course, Uranus, Saturn, Sun. Wednesday begins with the Sagittarius Moon Void-of-Course with the Sagittarius Moon making no connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Sagittarius. The Moon then moves into Capricorn where today the Moon trines Uranus and the Moon conjuncts Saturn. The Sun opposes Saturn. Although our energy level may be flagging, we have the opportunity of doing something different and unique that could give us a momentary transfusion. Either we can deal with our ordinary tasks in a streamlined manner or we can engage some new project that thrills us and excites us. Much of the day can seem like we have head down and putting one foot in front of the other, not feeling inspired but confined to ‘same old, same old’. Whatever we do today, let’s look up to the distant horizon occasionally, engage brief diversions and seek the silver lining. While the sun may be at its brightest at this time of the longest daylight in the year in the northern latitudes, we could be feeling the weight of the world on our shoulders. The more we can lighten our load, the less of an Eeyore we are liable to be.

Thursday, June 28th – The Moon Shines Brightly, Do We? – Capricorn Full Moon, Sun, Jupiter, Neptune. Late Wednesday, early Thursday gives us the Capricorn Full Moon with the Sun Moon opposition impacted by both Saturn and Uranus. As the day progresses, the Moon sextiles Jupiter, and the Moon sextiles Neptune. If we have our blinders on with us only looking at the straight and narrow right ahead of us, we could easily get despondent, feeling that we are merely putting one foot in front of the other, continuing to do the same thing day in and day out with only brief moments of stepping off the track. If we remove our blinders, look from a peripheral viewpoint, then we could see options and alternatives for ourselves, even though we might feel as though anything beyond our ordinary is far from our engagement. Thursday could make us aware of the paradigm shift whereby things can happen in a most extraordinary manner and often without our having to make them happen. As long as we are open to the magic and mini-miracles of these times, we might be blessed with a sense or an incident that things are not as heavy as they seem but rather there is light, and brightening light, even in the midst of dark clouds. Thursday is a day when attitude holds the key. We can choose to see the half glass of water as either half empty or half full. Instead of feeling down about things, why don’t we see possibilities in even the seemingly impossible? Let’s keep in mind that during this paradigm shift things can change dramatically in a nanosecond.

Friday, June 29th – Fun in the Summer Sun – Pluto, Moon Void-of-Course, Mercury Leo. Friday continues with the Capricorn Moon with the Moon today trine Pluto early in the day. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for almost twenty hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Capricorn and before the Moon enters Aquarius early on Saturday. Mercury exits Cancer to enter Leo. This is a day when prioritization is key. If we would take the time to plan out our day and prioritize our scheduling, we can accomplish a great deal, tie up loose ends and prepare for a weekend of intended frivolity. This is a day when we can concentrate on the truly important, address significant details and bring completion to various matters. Nothing is likely to fall between the cracks today. Our mindset can shift with Mercury entering Leo. We are less likely to be feeling in victim mode and more willing to stand out rather than trying to fit in. Our creative juices may be flowing, and we might engage any activities that allow us to be on center stage and express our talents.

Saturday, June 30th – Hell Bent For – Lunar T-Square, Mercury, Uranus, Mars. Saturday could be a case of our wanting to get on with things but with a tendency to leaping before looking. The Moon moves into Aquarius where today the Moon triggers a Fixed Sign T-Square with the Moon opposed Mercury, the Moon square Uranus and the Moon conjunct Mars. Mercury squares Uranus. Our intentions in concept may have us easily moving through this day and grabbing for all the gusto we can. Our reality may be more like a deeply rutted road with delays and unexpected scenarios hampering our progress. This is a day that demands we ‘chill’, since there is a strong liability to screw-ups. Communications can be off. We could experience computer and Internet problems. We might be plagued with traffic difficulties on the road, on the train or on the plane. This is day that cries out for CAUTION. Our frustrations can trigger knee-jerk reactions and trying to force issues. Whatever plans we have for this day, it would be wise to notch down our ways of doing things. There may be various curveballs that we might encounter on this Saturday but let’s avoid the beanballs.

Sunday, July 1st – Stuck in the Muddle – Lunar T-Square, Jupiter, Venus, Moon Void-of-Course. Sunday continues with the Moon transiting through Aquarius and also continues the Fixed Sign T-Square although with different players. Today, the Moon squares Jupiter and the Moon opposes Venus. No matter what our plans might be for this weekend, yesterday and today, it would be wise to have contingency plans. We might have scheduled activities for these two days, but things aren’t likely to go smoothly. Angered by delays or convoluted situations, we might try to force things to our will and there could be a pushback as a consequence. Working with the energies, no matter how disconcerting they may be, would be the answer. Yesterday we could have tangled ourselves up in various messes. Today, our action or reaction might be to go to excess and indulgence. We started the week trying to do too much and we might end the week the same way. We need to keep a tight rein on our expenditures today, for as the saying goes: ‘when the going gets tough, the tough go shopping’. The day and week ends with the Moon going Void-of-Course for eighteen and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Aquarius and before the Moon enters Pisces on Monday.
