The astrology for this week of May 21st through the 27th of 2018 can have us making plans for our summer escapades as the week leads up to the Memorial Day weekend in the US, the unofficial kickoff to the summer.
We start the week more interested in having fun and good times than dealing with tasks at hand. A little respite to begin the week can give us a second wind, recharge our batteries and provide the refresh-ment to deal with our details and responsibilities early in the week.
We may be focused on what we need to address in the early part of the week, and we could exhibit the wise sentiments of our working smarter rather than harder. Our intuitive sense may be heightened with a talent for perceiving our priorities and developing a best practices approach to accomplish our aims. We just have to be wary that we don’t get carried away by our effectiveness, for we could assume that nothing is too much for us and engage in taking on too much, spending too much, committing too much — yet another case of our being seduced into the too muches. We can accomplish much, but we have to back off from too much.
The latter part of the week may have us geared up for summertime activities and the long holiday weekend in the US, which kicks off the unofficial start to the summer season.
Before we take off for the weekend or end our weekly activities, we may be highly adept at arranging our activities and tying up our loose ends. If we would trust our instincts and plan out our actions, we could find ourselves in ‘the zone’, able to concentrate on the most meaningful matters with us being highly successful in accomplishing our goals. Let’s do what needs to be done before we engage our holiday weekend.
The liability to excess and indulgence over the weekend cannot be discounted. Whether we intend to participate in family reunions or neighborhood get-togethers or just spend time home alone, our intentions might be altered due to unexpected situations arising. Consider contingency plans whereby we can fall back into something other than what we had scheduled for ourselves. Even if things don’t go according to OUR plan, things even better than what we had imagined might develop and provide us with a lovely time.
Monday, May 21st – Slow Going or the Run Around – Moon Void-of-Course, Uranus, Sun. The Leo Moon went Void-of-Course late on Sunday and the Moon continues Void-of-Course for twenty-two hours on this Monday with the Moon making no connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Leo and before the Moon enters Virgo late in the day where the Moon tonight trines Uranus and the Moon squares the Sun. With Sunday evening beginning the month-long transit of the Sun through Gemini and combined with the Leo Moon, we can spend much of this Monday concentrating on what we want to do, although concentration might not be the appropriate word. Today is a day when we might be slow starting to get the day going. If we could have someone provide us with all sorts of ways to satiate our appetite, that would play nicely with our regal sense. The other option is for us to be up and at it, fast out of the starting gate, trying to embrace all the gusto that life has to offer. Responsibilities? We might not be interested in going there at least in the early part of the day. Let’s call it a ‘mental health’ day, a day for us to enjoy what we want the way that we want it. The evening hours could have us focusing on our obligations with the idea of streamlining our operations or figuring out alternatives to address our basic needs.
Tuesday, May 22nd – Smarter Not Harder – Venus, Saturn, Mercury, Neptune. Even if we felt like we wasted much of yesterday on frivolous activities, down time yesterday could have recharged our batteries and reinvigorated us. Tuesday has the Virgo Moon sextile Venus and the Moon trine Saturn. Mercury sextiles Neptune. Tuesday can be a highly productive day. We can accomplish a great deal and ever more so if we follow our instincts and trust our inner knowing. This is a day when we can figure things out and then put them in their proper place. We don’t have to stress and strain today. On the contrary, the more we take moments to contemplate what needs to be done and consider a best practices approach in order to do it, the more successful we are likely to be. Although we may have been conditioned into the concept of ‘no pain, no gain’, the grunt and groan of doing things the hard way is not always the most effective way. This is a day when we can embrace, and also see, the results of working smarter rather than harder. Why roll the boulder up the mountain when we can flip a switch and winch the boulder up the mountain? Today is a day for the winch. Today is also a day, the 22nd, when we can either be the master builder or else a worker drone. Go for the mastery!
Wednesday, May 23rd – Highly Effective Without Getting Carried Away – Neptune, Jupiter, Mercury, Pluto, Moon Void-of-Course, Sun, Mars. We could learn a great deal from watching the ocean tidal action. Just like the oceans, our lives also go through an ebb and flow. Yesterday and today can be highly productive as we could be in the flow. Much of today’s energy occurs in the morning hours. The Virgo Moon opposes Neptune, the Moon sextiles Jupiter and the Moon triggers an Earth Grand Trine with the Moon trine Mercury in Taurus and the Moon trine Pluto in Capricorn. The Moon then goes Void-of-course for almost sixteen hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Virgo and before the Moon enters Libra early on Thursday. Mercury opposes Jupiter and the Sun trines Mars. If we would plan out our day without trying to take on too much, we could virtually move mountains. Being resourceful and expeditious and prioritizing our movements allow us to be highly effective and successful in our endeavors. We may want to finish certain matters in order to then turn our attention to our future plans and our plans for the upcoming weekend. Let’s deal with our responsibilities in order to have the time to focus on our options and alternatives.
Thursday, May 24th – Do You Hear Me Now – Mars, Sun, Venus, Saturn. Thursday has the Moon moving into Libra. Similar to the Sign Libra where the metronome can swing between extremes before finding the balance point, this Thursday is a tale of two different qualities. On the one hand, the Libra Moon triggers an Air Grand Trine with the Moon trine Mars in Aquarius and the Moon trine the Sun in Gemini. On the other hand, the Libra Moon triggers a Cardinal Sign T-Square with the Moon square Venus in Cancer and the Moon square Saturn in Capricorn. This could be a day when talk is cheap and the question arises as to whether people can actually walk their talk. Although we might prefer to engage in conversations about grand adventures and wide realm of possibilities, we could be pushed and pulled by family matters, the demands of someone or our usual responsibilities. It is far easier to accomplish in concept than in practice. We might be glib and persuasive today, but the question is whether we can back up our sweet talk with realistic intentions. This is a day for us to consider how best to go about things and then implement a best practices approach to accomplish our goals.
Friday, May 25th – Head in the Clouds, Feet on the Ground – Pluto, Moon Void-of-Course, Jupiter, Neptune, Mercury. The Moon continues its transit of Libra with the Moon square Pluto late in the day. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for sixteen and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Libra and before the Moon enters Scorpio Saturday morning. Jupiter trines Neptune, and Mercury trines Pluto. We could feel upbeat, confident and inspired on this Friday. Could it be that our attitude is enhanced by our coming to the end of the week with a long holiday weekend in front of us? Possibly so, but the energy also speaks to a sense of our being in total synch with the natural unfolding of the universe. We could have a strong spiritual feeling to this day and one that is merged with an uncanny mental ability to see through the fluff to get to the core matter of any situation. Our investigative skills are highly attuned with us able to see, feel and recognize both the big picture of any situation and all the essential components that make up the whole. This Friday could be a highly productive day. We have to trust in our inner guidance and not be hesitant in making any dramatic moves. We are able to tidy things up, straighten things out, clean up and clear out in order to have a clutter free weekend ahead of us. If we are traveling out of town for the long holiday weekend, it would be wise to leave earlier rather than later. Late day and evening could prove convoluted regarding travel plans, and we might experience delays.
Saturday, May 26th – Ain’t What We Projected – Uranus, Mars, Venus, Saturn. The mid to latter part of the week may have had us gliding easily with only occasional bumps along the way. We could have been seduced into believing that the course would always be straight and easy, but reality is less like a straight two-dimensional line than waves with their crests and troughs. Saturday might be challenging. We could feel like we’re caught in a chess game with little chance of winning. This Saturday has the Moon moving into Scorpio where today the Moon triggers a Fixed Sign T-Square with the Moon opposed Uranus and the Moon square Mars. We could feel blocked and frustrated at virtually every move. Unexpected situations can put impediments in our way and we do have to be wary that any frustration doesn’t boil up and lead to angry outbursts or making us accident-prone. The more we try, the more resistance we might meet. Added to this conundrum Venus opposes Saturn. We may feel imposed upon, resent commitments made and wonder why things aren’t working out the way we imagined they would. This is a day to slow things down and let go of our expectations. We may have had a relatively easy time of things over the past few days, but this Saturday can be challenging at best.
Sunday, May 27th – The Simple Things – Saturn, Venus, Jupiter, Neptune. Yesterday had some difficult energies, but this Sunday is a highly pleasant day. What a difference a day makes! The Scorpio Moon on this Sunday sextiles Saturn, the Moon conjuncts Jupiter and the Moon triggers a Water Grand Trine with the Moon trine Venus in Cancer and the Moon trine Neptune in Pisces. If we keep our wits about us, we can have a grand time today. We could be so enamored with having a good time that we lose track of our expenditures and our ingestions. Family reunions and social occasions can be a lot of fun today, but we do need to be wary of excess. This is a day when we could indulge a little too much, all with the excuse of celebrating both the unofficial start to the summer and good times with good friends. Let’s take time to enjoy the simple things of life — strolling by the seashore, hiking in the woods, canoeing on a lake or just sitting by the barbecue and relaxing. It is often the simple things in life that are the most pleasant.
