April 9th – 15th, 2018

The astrology for this week of April 9th through the 15th of 2018 is the last week of Mercury retrograde and is the end of the waning Moon as Sunday concludes this week with Mercury turning direct and with the Aries New Moon, which truly triggers the start of this Spring season.

We start the week more engaged with our future plans than our daily responsibilities. We would prefer contemplating distant horizons than our present steps. We can easily get lost in reveries, thinking about prospects and possibilities. Nothing may seem impossible and that’s one of the true blessings of the abstract realm and concepts. Another blessing, and a sign of these times, is our move into asequential reality where things can happen in the most unexpected ways of magic and miracles.

While a parade rainer could douse our hopes and wishes, we might also come back to earth, become more grounded and seriously engage an inventory taking of what we wish to move on from and what we might want to pursue. We are more interested in our true purpose and the significant and important aspects of our life.

The mid-week period gives us the energy to take practical approaches, all the while that we are presenting ourselves in an appealing and even seductive manner. There can be a productive and pleasing exchange in our relationships, and someone could prove an advocate for us to reignite our dreams and our wishes.

The end of the week over the weekend can have us highly effective, virtually able to move mountains and doing so by winch rather than brute strength. Let’s keep in mind that we are still in the dark of the Moon and still with Mercury retrograde. Even though we can accomplish a great deal over the weekend, we might be better served by cleaning up, clearing out and straightening things rather than implementing our plans or launching forward.
Because things get especially squirrely whenever Mercury turns direction, whether from direct to retrograde or retrograde to direct motion, let’s move cautiously over the weekend, not push any envelopes, and focus on our intentions rather than executions.

The weekend closes out on Sunday with Mercury turning direct early in the day, ending its three-week Mercury retrograde cycle, and with the Aries New Moon at the end of the day. We can now say that Spring has truly sprung.

Monday, April 9th – All Things Possible – Mercury. The week begins on Monday with the Moon in Aquarius and the Moon sextile Mercury. This is a good day for us to make contact with friends and with those people upon whom we can rely to provide a different perspective. We are interested in those folks who are marching to their own drummer and doing their own thing. We’re not looking for cookie cutters but rather quirky individuals who may open our mind to ideas and suggestions we might not have considered. There can be a great deal of talk on this Monday with scintillating ideas thrown around. Even if we cannot engage some of the possibilities that are discussed or thought about, let’s keep in mind that during this paradigm shift when we are moving from sequential reality into the volatility of asequential reality, all things are possible and all things are likely to have a life of their own. This Monday is a good day for ruminations, pondering, and allowing our mind to flow freely.

Tuesday, April 10th – Between a Rock and a Hard Place – Sun, Lunar T-Square, Venus, Jupiter. Tuesday continues with the Aquarius Moon with the Moon today sextile the Sun and the Moon triggering a Fixed Sign T-Square as the Moon squares Venus in Taurus and the Moon squares Jupiter in Scorpio. We could have had some grand ideas yesterday, mulled things over and determined our next step. We might have felt like a helium balloon puffed up about what we intended next. Tuesday could prove slightly deflating with our primary concern being the question of whether we have the resources — time, monies, talents — to pull off our best intentions. It would be wise for us to budget our time and monies today, for we could have a tendency to feel frustrated and as the slogan states: ‘when the going gets tough, the touch go shopping’. Let’s avoid any form of excess, whether it’s overspending or trying too hard. It’s important that we keep in mind the volatility of these times where the extremes of the metronome swing can be severe with times of irrational exuberance, other times of desperate despair. The more we can maintain balance and not get caught up in the anxieties and craziness going on in the world, the better able we shall be in our navigating the currents of these times. If we stay focused and are not swayed by our emotions, then we could realize our future is unfolding in the way that it is as we journey forward.

Wednesday, April 11th – Stepping Out of Our Way – Uranus, Moon Void-of-Course, Sun, Pluto, Venus, Mars. The Moon completes its transit of Aquarius with the Moon sextiling Uranus. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for over three and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Aquarius and before the Moon enters Pisces. The Sun squares Pluto, and Venus trines Mars. We can have one of those ‘ah-ha’ moments when we realize where we are going. We may not be there yet, but we could have a good sense of our journey, even if we are not fully aware of the various steps along the way. Wednesday may be a day when we reconfigure our goals, consider what is truly important for us, and determine our intentions based on a soul level rather than from our ego personality. If we can get out of our own way and be guided by our inner knowing, we could focus on the truly purposeful. There are times when we are run by our expectations, our own and other people’s expectations. Today is a day to let go of what we feel we ‘should’ do and instead concentrate on the truly meaningful. We might recognize the truth to the wise statement that ‘the higher forces have far greater plans for us than we could have ever imagined for ourselves’. Once we get back on track of our deeply felt dreams and desires, then we can present ourselves in a more real and far more appealing package. Things do not have to be hard once we let go of our need for control and get back in the flow of the natural unfolding.

Thursday, April 12th – Mystical Magic – Saturn, Mars, Neptune, Venus. Wednesday may have opened doors to a different life perspective, one where we appreciated the beauty of the divine design in our life even if it seemed to run counter to our own beliefs as to how our life ‘should’ work. Thursday can allow us a greater sense that the universe works and that it works in our life’s journey. Thursday continues with the Pisces Moon with the Moon today conjunct Neptune, and the Moon sextile both Saturn and Mars both in Capricorn and the Moon sextile Venus in Taurus. Venus sextiles Neptune. Although we might have been conditioned into accepting the idea that power and belligerence win the day, the truth that the soft and the gentle are winning combinations may be seen on this Thursday. Today can be something of a magical day, a comforting day when all the pieces seem to fit neatly together and with little effort. There could be an almost idyllic feel to this day, but we would need to be open in order to receive. The more we can let go of our preconceived opinions and be open to limitless possibilities, the more we are likely to see how things can intertwine and come together in a mystical and miraculous manner. Like a scavenger hunt, this day can provide interesting clues to what our next steps might be. Someone may appear as if out of nowhere to offer us comfort, sustenance and suggestions for our journey along our way.

Friday, April 13th – Reflection, Regrouping Before Action – Pluto, Jupiter, Moon Void-of-Course. The past two days may have seemed somewhat otherworldly. We might have felt as though we stepped into a different dimension, a time space continuum where things came together in a rather magical manner without much effort and with the liability of whatever effort we expended might have proven counterproductive. We may have had something of a wakeup call, woke to the reality that the universe works and works best when we aren’t gumming up the works by our ego-driven antics. There is great truth to the 12-step affirmation of ‘let go, let god’, and we can realize the wisdom to those words over the past two days. Friday has the Moon finishing its transit of Pisces and as it does so the Pisces Moon sextiles Pluto and the Moon trines Jupiter. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for sixteen hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Pisces and before the Moon enters Aries late in the day. Pisces is the last Sign of the Zodiac and we are about to come out of the Mercury retrograde on Sunday morning and also come into the Aries New Moon late on Sunday. This Friday is a good day for us to go over any outstanding matters that we once thought resolved only to discover over the past three weeks that certain issues were not fully completed. Today is a day for finishing touches and to clean up and clear out affairs that are more related to the past than our future. The starting gate of the astrological year is truly soon upon us, so let’s deal with those situations that we would prefer out of the way before we launch forward with our new projects.

Saturday, April 14th – Don’t Rush the River – Mercury, Saturn, Jupiter, Pluto, Mars, Neptune. Saturday is a high energy day. The Aries Moon today conjuncts Mercury and the Moon squares Saturn. Jupiter sextiles Pluto, and Mars sextiles Neptune. This is also the last day of Mercury retrograde. We can be amping to get on with things on this Saturday, but it would be wise to remember that timing is everything. Taking care of errands and preparing the way for our advances would be far more effective than forging ahead with our new beginnings. We are on the dark side of the Moon prior to tomorrow’s Aries New Moon, which truly does signal the start of the Spring season with its promise of renaissance, rebirth, renewal and new beginnings. Let’s use this weekend to finish our inventory taking and a good Spring cleaning to get the extraneous and distractions out of our way. Even if we choose to forge ahead on this Saturday, we could encounter impediments, delays and obstacles. Whenever Mercury is about to change direction, things can get squirrely. We can forget important details, not be clear about our direction and might be gunning our engines only to exhaust ourselves without going far. Patience is not only a virtue but today such an attitude could prove a necessity. It is far better for us to clear our way and prepare ourselves for new beginnings today than launching forward in a helter-skelter manner.

Sunday, April 15th – Let the Games Begin Smartly – Mars, Pluto, Aries New Moon, Sun, Mercury direct. This weekend has the energy ramped up but also calls for caution in our moves. The Aries Moon today squares Mars and Pluto both in Capricorn and the Moon conjuncts the Sun at the Aries New Moon. Mercury turns direct ending its three-week retrograde cycle through Aries. Just as yesterday may have had us champing at the bit wanting to get on with things, this Sunday heightens the impulse to get moving and begin our new springtime projects. That’s all well and good, but first things first. Mercury turning direct allows us to think more clearly, and it would be wise for us to look over the past three weeks and see what matters may have been dealt with in either a haphazard or less than effective manner. We may have jumped the gun on certain situations, and we might have to clean up messes before we move forward in new directions. Any obligations or tasks that we would prefer not to have hanging over us in the days ahead can be addressed today, even if we would prefer to rush ahead into new adventures. The New Moon late in the day triggers a two-week period of new adventures and new beginnings and spreading our wings. Let’s not clip our own wings by having outstanding matters that could slow us down. Today is a day to get our sea legs, find our balance and rid ourselves of the old in order for us to embrace the new in the days ahead.
