April 30th – May 6th, 2018

The astrology for this week of April 30th through May 6th of 2018 can find us becoming more serious about our plans for our springtime projects.

The week begins with a thrust of energy and even intensity as we look to be astute and resourceful as to where we focus our attention. By drawing upon our inner knowing, our intuitive sense, we can develop a best practices approach for accomplishing our goals.

Sorting things out, arranging our schedule and prioritizing our intentions would be a good way to begin this week. If we don’t take the time to get a handle on what we want to do and how we intend to do it this week, we could find the mid-week period as being expansionary but possibly with us running in circles. Proper planning is called for to achieve right engagement.

The mid-week period may have us considering all sorts of options, wanting to add more to our plate but with the liability of not fully considering the implications of our involvements. We could be all over the place during the mid-week period, all the while assuming that we are on the right track but taking a course route similar to the infamous ‘wrong way Corrigan’.

No matter how far off course we get during the mid-week, we can track back on the right course towards the end of the week and over the weekend. Although our desires might veer towards the expansionary and broadening our reach even without due consideration during the mid-week, we can be a great deal more attentive to the right template and right course of action at the end of the week and over the weekend.

Saturday is Cinco de Mayo, a recent US celebration of imbibing tequila and Dos Equis and partying away the day, or the weekend. The historical reference to Cinco de Mayo is certainly an interesting one for celebration. If we choose not to party on the Saturday, we may focus our attention on straightening things out and flying right. We can be highly effective and productive if we are not distracted by the social occasions.

The end of the weekend is ripe for relaxation and good times with good friends. If we used the previous two days to take care of business and arrange matters for a successful execution of our goals, then we can close out the weekend looking more to our future with an appreciation that we have taken care of outstanding matters and also laid down solid foundation stones for our days ahead.

Monday, April 30th – All Together Now – Neptune, Jupiter, Pluto, Mars, Moon Void-of-Course. Coming off the intensity of this past Sunday Scorpio Full Moon, Monday allows us to get our act together, figure out what we wish to focus on and devise a best practices approach while being highly resourceful. Monday continues with the Moon transiting Scorpio with the Moon today trine Neptune, the Moon conjunct Jupiter and the Moon sextile both Pluto and Mars both in Capricorn. Late in the day, the Moon goes Void-of-Course for almost twelve and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Scorpio and before the Moon enters Sagittarius on Tuesday. This Monday can be a highly productive day. It would be wise for us to take some time before we rush out the door to consider what we wish to accomplish on this day. We could surprise ourselves by the amount we can get done if we take the time to give thought to our various projects and scheduled activities. Time management today can reap incredible benefits by helping us be expeditious and successful in our activities.

Tuesday, May 1st – Resting on Our Laurels – Moon Void-of-Course. The Scorpio Moon went Void-of-Course late on Monday and continues through the first half of this Wednesday with the Scorpio Moon making no connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Scorpio and before the Moon moves into Sagittarius. The Sagittarius Moon makes no connections to the planets today. Tuesday may be a day when we spend the early part tidying up, tying up loose ends and getting rid of outstanding matters. As the day progresses, we might find ourselves lost in reveries as we consider our plans for the future and the ways we can expand our interests and spread our wings. Yesterday might have had us flat out doing any number of things and possibly quite successful in doing so. Tuesday is less energetic. We can finish up various matters, but then our mind and our focus may stretch to distant horizons. We might feel very expansionary during the second half of this Tuesday and more so in the abstract of concepts than in practical reality or physical execution. We could use some of this Tuesday as a ‘mental health’ day and time for us to be mindful of the new birth we see in nature during the springtime — all fodder for us considering our own intended new beginnings.

Wednesday, May 2nd – Keeping a Handle on Things – Lunar T-Square, Venus, Neptune, Mercury. We are all aware of the intense volatility of these times, for we are all living it. It often seems that we are on a metronome ride, swinging from one extreme to the other, trying to find balance and having difficulty doing so. The swings between ups and downs, activity and non-activity, irrational exuberance and downright despair seem part of life’s process these days and can prove both exhausting and crazy making. Suspending judgment would be wise, since this process is what it is. The swings continue this week — intense action on Monday, followed by a certain stillness yesterday, and the engines fired up again on this Wednesday. The Moon in Sagittarius today triggers a Mutable Sign T-Square with the Moon opposed Venus and the Moon square Neptune. Providing some semblance of awareness and mindfulness, the Moon trines Mercury. Wednesday is a day when our desire to do more and have it all can get the better of us, if we don’t plan out our activities before engaging. Various distractions can be tantalizing but may only serve as diversions leading us nowhere. This is a day that calls for us to use our due diligence. We may hear information that seems astute and reliable but might only prove to be castles in the air. If we don’t take the time to plan, evaluate and re-evaluate on this Wednesday, then we could spend the day running in circles with little effect and no success. It would be wise that we get a handle on our day’s activities before launching forward and once underway to keep a handle on things. Why exhaust ourselves in mindless excursions?

Thursday, May 3rd – Patience as a Virtue – Uranus. In his poem On Blindness John Milton coined the phrase: “They also serve who only stand and wait”. While he was referring to a particular situation of his own, this phrase has come through the years to advise patience even though we often prefer to be actively engaged. This Thursday can prove the significance of both patience and appreciation for the paradigm shift that we are all living in. Although we have been conditioned into always being active even to the point of ‘busy work’ and with the underlying tenet that we must always be in control of circumstance, these attitudes and dispositions are proving false during these times when the paradigm shift awakens us to the realization that we are only co-creators with the natural unfolding. Sequential progression of beginning, middle and end all in an orderly manner is giving way to the asequential, non-linear reality of process rather than completion with the process being replete with magic and mini-miracles. Thursday gives greater evidence of the paradigm shift. We might want to be active, stretching our wings and expanding our involvements on this Thursday even if we are not fully aware as to where and how to expand. If we would allow ourselves to champ at the bit, claw the floor but resist the desire to be actively engaged, we might recognize that patience, even our begrudging patience, is a savior that prevents us from following the lead of Alexander Pope’s poetic line: ‘fools rush in where angels fear to tread’. The major energy on this Thursday occurs late in the day with the Sagittarius Moon trine Uranus. No matter what we have done on this Thursday, a surprising incident or unexpected news could alter our course of action late in the day with an impact on our plans in the days ahead. We may be made aware of an opportunity that we could hardly imagine for ourselves. The key to this day is to wait and allow the universal unfolding to provide us with one of those ‘ah-ha’ moments.

Friday, May 4th – Down to Business – Saturn. Friday has the Capricorn Moon with the Moon conjunct Saturn. This week may have had some wild swings to it, but this Friday allows us to focus and concentrate on the needs at hand. We might prefer to continue freewheeling and broadening our scope, but the day calls for us to buckle down and handle our responsibilities. We may be far more serious on this Friday. We might be playing catch-up with things we let slide over the past few days. Friday is a good day for us to put on our blinders, keep our head down and concentrate on what needs to get done. Although both Friday and Saturday are two good days to accomplish a lot, tomorrow might have us enjoying the Cinco de Mayo festivities. Let’s use this Friday to handle our obligations and to take the necessary steps to realize our long-term goals. Life is not always for play and to have fun. We have our obligations, and this Friday would be a good day to attend to our commitments. If we don’t grouse and whine about we have to do, we can accomplish a great deal by having our nose to the grindstone.

Saturday, May 5th – Faint Memories of Puebla – Sun, Neptune, Jupiter, Mercury, Pluto. Who doesn’t like a party? This Saturday is Cinco de Mayo, the day celebrating… anyone? anyone?… Most people in the US and most people outside of Mexico have little awareness to the celebrations related to May 5th. While justification to have a good time is not truly necessary, Cinco de Mayo has become a major celebration day in the US. This Saturday continues with the Capricorn Moon with the Moon today trine the Sun, the Moon sextile Neptune in Pisces, the Moon sextile Jupiter in Scorpio, the Moon square Mercury, and the Moon conjunct Pluto. While this could be a highly productive day, it can only be so if we are not drawn away from our projects by social events, partying and celebrating the day. Whichever way we go today, whether practical and productive or partying and festivities, we are likely to give it our all. Friday and Saturday could have us accomplishing a lot, advancing our interests and prioritizing our involvements. If we take a different trajectory and use this day for social gatherings, then we have to be wary that we don’t drink too much, eat too much, spend too much — again, the case of too muches. Remember, the energies are energies, and it’s largely a question as to how we choose to work with the energies — always our free will and choice, both in action and in attitude.

Sunday, May 6th – Shake it Off – Mars, Uranus, Sun, Neptune. Sunday finishes the Moon’s transit of Capricorn with the Moon conjunct Mars in the early morning hours and the Moon square Uranus. The Moon then goes into Aquarius. The Sun sextiles Neptune. If we engaged the too muches yesterday, we might awaken a little stupefied. It might be hard for us to get in gear as we start this Sunday. Let’s not push ourselves to get going on this Sunday. We might far prefer to laze around our home base, possibly attending to springtime projects but exerting as little energy as possible. As the day progresses, we might be more interested in considering our future plans and possibly with someone we can use as a good sounding board for some of our ideas. Our sensitivity and compassion could be ratcheted up today, and we might reach out to friends with the idea of making plans for get-togethers. Any social occasions, and especially those on the spur-of-the-moment, can be fun and make us feel good about our engagements.
