April 2nd – 8th, 2018

The astrology for this week of April 2nd through the 8th can be a little challenging with us feeling like a falcon ready to fly but tied by our talons to our responsibilities and feeling like a head hood is blocking our vision.

The week begins with us focusing on getting things out of the way. We might have certain responsibilities to address and can be exhausted just thinking about all that we have to do. Some of us may be coming back from vacation or else starting to take a weeklong vacation. Whatever we are doing, let’s keep in mind that we’re still stuck with Mercury retrograde. This Mercury retrograde becomes even more exasperating in the middle of this week.

If we can harness our energy and work smarter rather than harder to begin the week, we could clean up and clear out various outstanding matters. We might prefer to do something other than our ordinary, routine obligations, but focus and perseverance early in the week may save us from various screw-ups later in the week.

The mid-week period could have us champing at the bit, preferring to step away from our daily regimen and engage in our own activities and whatever catches our fancy. If we let down our guard and lose sight of our routine tasks, we might experience outstanding matters biting us in the backside. With tax time approaching, let’s not get too smart for our own good with creative accounting. As the accountancy slogan states: ‘numbers don’t lie, people do’.

Even if we try and step off the track during the latter part of the week, the end of the week and the weekend could have us back dealing with our commitments.

This week may have moments of us feeling bleak and stuck, like a dog chasing its tail with us just going round in circles, but let’s do what needs to be done without grousing about it. There’s no room for whiners, an attitude that can only fuel a sense of delays and frustrations. Let’s put on a happy face this week, even if it’s a forced smile.

Monday, April 2nd – Elbow Grease – Mars, Saturn, Neptune. Monday starts the week with the Scorpio Moon sextile the Capricorn-transiting planets of Mars and Saturn. Late in the day, the Moon trines Neptune. Mars conjuncts Saturn. The beginning of this week is a time for us to sort through our various involvements, rid ourselves of useless distractions and attend to pressing matters. Yes, we are dealing with Mercury retrograde and we do have to be cautious about what we eliminate, but now is a good time for us to tie up loose ends and bring completion to issues that need to be resolved. We may have a sense of being in harness with blinders on, looking and focusing only on our responsibilities and commitments. There can be a great deal of intensity to this day, so let’s use it wisely. We might not be participating in many fun activities today but rather attending to what needs to get done. By taking care of business on this Monday and Tuesday, we might provide space for us to expand into new territories in the mid-week. Through our efforts during the day, we may have a sense of accomplishment late in the day and appreciative of all the elbow grease we used to straighten up our affairs and clear out some of the messes around us.

Tuesday, April 3rd – Heavy Lifting and a Breather – Pluto, Jupiter, Moon Void-of-Course. Yesterday and today are good days for us to deal with situations in need of completion. The Moon continues its transit of Scorpio with the Moon today sextile Pluto and the Moon conjunct Jupiter. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for almost fifteen hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Scorpio and before the Moon enters Sagittarius early on Wednesday morning. As if running a marathon, yesterday may have had us pacing ourselves as we dealt with our responsibilities and tasks at hand. Tuesday may feel more like a sprint as we concentrate on those matters that seem the most important for us to streamline our goals. By prioritizing our schedule, we can check off any number of items on our ‘to do’ list. We could be like a bulldozer just plowing ahead with no resistance from our intense focus. As the day progresses, we might want to reward ourselves for the strenuous efforts we’ve expended. We do have to be wary of being indulgent or extravagant, since we could shift from a parsimonious attitude to one of excess. The latter part of the day can have us gliding along, seeking refuge in our own happy, safe space, content with what we have accomplished and allowing ourselves some ‘down time’.

Wednesday, April 4th – Champing at the Bit – Mercury, Mars. The Moon enters Sagittarius on this Wednesday with the Moon trine Mercury late in the day. Retrograde Mercury squares Mars today, followed tomorrow by Mercury square Saturn. We may be in an expansive mood on this Wednesday, wanting to spread our wings and fly off to far-away realms. Nice concept, except it might not match the energy of this day. Wednesday could have us feeling thwarted with things taking far longer than we might like. We could feel as though we’re rolling a boulder up a mountain with our efforts stalled or our energy sapping away as we try to forge forward. Frustrations today and tomorrow can get the better of us, and we have to be wary that we don’t unleash a torrent of angry words as if we were suffering from Tourette’s. The liability of venting our frustrations can be strong. This day calls for braking actions on our movements and on what we say and reducing our expectations on our self and on other people. Let’s keep in mind that we often have to address what we need to do before we can engage in what we want to do. This Wednesday and Thursday could be days of dealing with our responsibilities, all the while that we would prefer to be doing something other than our obligated tasks.

Thursday, April 5th – Weight of the World – Neptune, Sun, Mercury, Saturn. Thursday continues with the Sagittarius Moon with the Moon today square Neptune and the Moon trine the Sun. Mercury squares Saturn. Wednesday and Thursday may prove frustrating days if we are feeling like our wings are being clipped and that we have to deal with situations we would prefer to neglect. Thursday calls for planning our activities before we start off on the day’s journey. If we don’t consider what we need to do on this Thursday, we could step out and step in it. We could be rather moody today with the liability to depression. We may have the sense of blinders on, seeing only what is right in front of us and liable to being down about it. Our mind might not be operating on all cylinders. We could view the half glass of water as half empty rather than half full and with the water emptying out. It’s important that we not let our spirits get us down, for we could be looking more from a negative viewpoint rather than being upbeat and excited. Wednesday and Thursday call for us not to let our anxiety or concerns get the better of us. If we have important decisions to make, Wednesday and Thursday are not days for us to do so. Either we aren’t using our due diligence or we are taking a negative bead on things. Delays and frustrations are likely so let’s cut ourselves and everyone else a great deal of slack.

Friday, April 6th – Taking a Breather – Uranus, Moon Void-of-Course. Friday has the Sagittarius Moon trine Uranus before the Moon goes Void-of-Course for four and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Sagittarius and before the Moon enters Capricorn. After a couple of days that may have been challenging to the point of our feeling thwarted or even defeated, Friday calls for us to take some time to do whatever catches our fancy. The week may have had us with nose to the grindstone, but this Friday is a good day for a ‘time out’ and to allow ourselves to do whatever on a spontaneous, even impulsive, manner. Putting our individual mark on some activity in the morning can restore our confidence and assuage any bummed out feelings we might have encountered over the past two days. We all need a breather every now and then, and this Friday morning is a time for us to do so. We might use the weekend to deal with errands, responsibilities and commitments, and so a leisurely or exciting Friday morning may be called for — doing whatever we want to do on a spontaneous even impulsive manner. Later in the day we can get back in harness and deal with what we need to address. Friday morning can be a ‘mental health’ time for to regroup, recharge and reinvigorate.

Saturday, April 7th – Finer Touches – Mercury, Venus, Saturn, Mars, Neptune. Saturday and Sunday can be high energy days, times when we are dealing with social obligations and past commitments made. Saturday has the Capricorn Moon square Mercury, the Moon trine Venus, the Moon conjunct both Mars and Saturn, and the Moon sextile Neptune. Venus trines Saturn. Whether we have social occasions to engage or we have things to do around our house, this Saturday allows us to accomplish a great deal and to do so with style and finesse. We might discover that matters we felt were challenging and that we weren’t able to accomplish during the week can be successfully addressed over the weekend. Things seem to fit neatly together this weekend, especially if we get out of our own way and not self sabotage.

Sunday, April 8th – First Things First – Sun, Pluto, Jupiter, Uranus. This Sunday continues a high energy weekend with the Moon in Capricorn today conjunct Pluto, the Moon sextile Jupiter and the Moon square the Sun and Uranus, the latter two bookending the day with the Moon square the Sun to begin the day, and the Moon square Uranus to end the evening. While we might have to put our personal interests on the back burner in order to take care of tasks and plans already made, we can prioritize our activities and expedite the process. If we are doing any fix-ups around our home, we need to be careful that we don’t overdo by spending too much or overly feathering our nest. The impetus of springtime might have us out shopping whether for our home or for our wardrobe or for springtime activities. We can achieve great results over this weekend. We might not like some of the activities we engage, but let’s keep in mind that this week may have had an element of cleaning up and straightening out with some eliminations to begin the week, and we may end the week over the weekend by adding what we might consider to be necessary ingredients to our life. Looking good and making things nice can be a palliative to some of the anxiety we might feel or pick up by our reactions to the goings-on in the world at large.
