April 23rd – 29th, 2018

The astrology for this week of April 23rd through the 29th of 2018 continues the roller coaster ride of highs and lows, ups and downs, as we move to the intensity of the Scorpio Full Moon to close out this week.

The week begins with us looking for venues in which to express our creative talents and put our personal mark on things. We’re not interested in playing second fiddle to anyone, but neither are we as impetuous as we might have been over the past few weeks. We can be dramatic in our presentations but astute as to whom our audience is. We may lose the revolutionary robes in order to preach to the choir. As the saying goes: ‘you catch more flies with honey than you do with vinegar’.

We could be highly resourceful at the beginning of the week, interested in broadening our social circle, and willing to chat up folks both for the sake of diversion and to derive input from different perspectives. While we can be highly effective in putting the pieces together, we do have to avoid feeling frustrated by the amount of time things actually take to accomplish. Let’s keep in mind that things can be completed far easier in abstract and in the concepts of our mind than in the practical manifestation of physical reality.

The latter part of the week may be explosive. Extreme actions and intense passions could hold sway. We need to be especially careful toward the latter part of this week, for the energy can ratchet up with liabilities to explosions and actings out. The energy could easily get away from us towards the end of this week as we move towards the Scorpio Full Moon to close out the weekend.

The end of the week and early weekend may be time for us to slow things down, step away from our responsibilities and recharge our batteries. Even if we try to rush the river, we could find our attempts only contribute to a sense of being caught up in the currents and not allowing us sufficient time for things to unfold and for us to catch our breath.

The end of the weekend can be a real whipsaw of emotion with liabilities to accidents as a result of ill-considered actions.

We may swing high and we may swing low this week, but the more we can maintain balance and engage detachment, the less we are at the prey of intense emotions or extreme actions.

Monday, April 23rd – Machete in Hand – Mercury, Jupiter. Monday begins the week with the Leo Moon and the Moon today trine Mercury early in the day and the Moon square Jupiter late in the day. We might assume that we can conquer the world today, and in our mind we are certainly able to do so. We start the week focused on our personal interests and projects. We may wish to put on display our creative talents, and certainly our presentations can be dramatic and compelling. Our conversations may be appealing, and we can easily make a case with great fanfare for what we want to do and plan to do. While we might feel omnipotent and able to deal effectively with anything and everything that comes our way, we could be seduced into trying to do too much, spending too much, wasting too much — again the liability of the too muches. Finding balance today demands detachment and an appreciation for doing successfully what we can do without dissipating our accomplishments by trying to take on more than we can effectively handle.

Tuesday, April 24th – Fine Tuning – Uranus, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Venus Gemini. Tuesday is an interesting blend of grandiose intentions but with attention to the essential details. Tuesday has the Leo Moon morphing into the Moon entering Virgo. We start the day with the Leo Moon and the Moon trine Uranus. The Moon moves into Virgo where the Moon squares Venus, which has exited its own Sign of Taurus today to enter Gemini. Mars sextiles Jupiter. Late yesterday, we could have bought into the belief that we are invincible and can effectively attend to all matters. Yes, there are times when we all suffer from arrogance, and we could have done so late on Monday. Fortunately, Tuesday provides the energy to focus and concentrate and as a result we can be effective and resourceful. While we want to put our own spin on things, we might virtually move mountains today due to our passion, persistence and a best practices approach. We may not garner the respect of someone who does not understand our determined commitment, but we are not too concerned about winning appreciation for what we are doing or how we are doing it. We are far more attentive to getting things done, and today we can accomplish a great deal.

Wednesday, April 25th – In the Zone, Or – Lunar Grand Trine, Sun, Saturn, Neptune, Mercury. Wednesday is one of those days when we are best served by keeping our head down, focusing on our intent, and moving assertively ahead without second-guessing ourselves. The Virgo Moon today triggers an Earth Grand Trine with the Virgo Moon trine the Sun in Taurus and the Moon trine Saturn in Capricorn. Late in the day, the Moon opposes Neptune and Mercury squares Saturn. Yesterday could have given us something of a second wind, put us in harness of being productive by our being effective in our game plan. Wednesday can continue our successful engagements. It would be wise for us to have a plan of action and put on our blinders today with us concentrating on the specifics. While we may be more attentive to the details, let’s keep in mind that the right parts make up the right whole. Whatever we choose to engage, we can take care of our responsibilities without letting anything fall between the cracks. Late in the day, we could question whether we have covered all our bases. Why go there? If we overly critique our actions, then we might have the liability of seeking out the flaws rather than recognizing our achievements. We can be in the zone, zen-like, much of this Wednesday. It’s the mental going over late in the day that can trigger second thoughts as the ego concerns late in the day dampen the essential renderings earlier on this Wednesday.

Thursday, April 26th – All or Nothing – Jupiter, Mars, Pluto, Moon Void-of-Course. Late Wednesday, early Thursday could have extreme emotions and actions arising. Thursday begins with high activity as the Virgo Moon sextiles Jupiter, and the Moon trines both Mars and Pluto both in Capricorn. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for fifteen and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Virgo and before the Moon enters Libra late in the day. Mars conjuncts Pluto. We may be hell on wheels as we start this day. The thrust of energy is so strong that we have to be extremely cautious to avoid people acting out, explosive situations, and the energy veering off the charts. If we can harness this energy, then we could be like a bulldozer knocking down any impediments in our way. The key to this day is focus. It would be wise for us to plan our course of action with the recognition that once we are in gear there may be no stopping us as we plow forward. Much of today’s energy is ratcheted up at the beginning of the day, and that’s the primary reason to plan our trajectory before we head out. These energy configurations are a huge force to deal with and may be akin to an all or nothing approach. We can smooth things out, tidy things up as the day progresses but the early part of the day could prove to be high intensity.

Friday, April 27th – Tying Up Loose Ends – Venus, Lunar T-Square, Saturn, Mercury. The Libra Moon on this Friday has the Moon trine Venus and the Moon triggering a Cardinal Sign T-Square with the Moon square Saturn and the Moon opposed Mercury. Casual conversation could find us committing our time and energy to someone else’s issues. We might be flippant in our discussions and may consequently pay the price. Being good-natured and interested in other people’s matters are all well and good, but on this Friday such a disposition could land us in a heap of trouble. We could be tying up loose ends on this Friday, seeking to clear the decks in order to have the weekend free and clear. Responsibilities may demand our attention but their bark might not be as insistent as someone else’s perceived needs. This Friday and this weekend could be a time when we have to deal with errands, outstanding matters and commitments made long ago.

Saturday, April 28th – Doing the Dance – Pluto, Mars. Yesterday’s Libra Moon squared Saturn in Capricorn and today the Libra Moon squares the other two Capricorn-transiting planets: Pluto and Mars. Although we may have certain obligations to attend to, let’s pace ourselves. Otherwise, we could try too hard with a consequent result of throwing out our back or stepping into someone’s messes. This Saturday is a day for us to prioritize our activities but to also allow for ‘time outs’. We could push ourselves beyond normal limits and that would prove a problem. Let’s bear in mind that since mid-week, we may have had the pedal to the metal and just tried to take on too much and do too much. There has been a strong emphasis on the Mars Pluto energies that continue on this Saturday and crescendos tomorrow with the Scorpio Full Moon. As the saying goes: ‘if you dance to the music, you pay to the piper’. If we have been determined and persistent for much of this week and over the weekend and gone beyond our usual abilities, we could pay the price with back strain, exhaustion and burn out. Let’s slow things down, prioritize our activities and recognize that we don’t have to do it all in one fell swoop. Taking things step by step can reach us to our destination. Leaps and bounds could be misplaced and might even wind us up in an abyss of suffering.

Sunday, April 29th – More or Less – Uranus, Saturn, Sun, Scorpio Full Moon. Sunday has the Libra Moon opposed Uranus before the Moon exits Libra to enter Scorpio where today the Moon sextiles Saturn and the Moon opposes the Sun at the time of the Scorpio Full Moon. The Sun trines Saturn. This Sunday, like much of this week, can be fairly intense, a high energy time when we can be either highly effective by prioritizing and focusing on the truly important or we could blow out our adrenals by trying to do too much without listening to our body. Although we often have the tendency to want more and more and then some more and often live our lives that way, this week and especially this Sunday could make us realize the truth to the statement that sometimes ‘less is more’. We might consider an inventory taking and a clean up and clear out on this Sunday. The energy is certainly intense and whether we do a physical inventory taking or we consider what are resources are and how best to deal with our resources, we can determine the reality of whether we wish to engage more or less.
