March 26th – April 1st, 2018

The astrology for this week of March 26th through April 1st, 2018, gives us the first full week of springtime and the first full week of the Mercury retrograde. Should we ask: Are we having fun yet?

If we read the headlines and listen to the news, the world might seem to be unwinding as it spins out of control. School shootings, trade wars, volatile equity markets can have people marching around whether in groups or pacing the floor by themselves.

What is it with all the anxiety? You’d think that life was out of control. And that could be the keyword: control.

One of the things we need to recognize and appreciate during this paradigm shift is the dramatic change in reality — moving from the linear, sequential progression from beginning through the middle to the end and moving into the non-linear, asequential reality of random occurrences when anything could be happening.

These times may not be times of stability and security, but during these volatile times it does provide the opportunity of radical change[s] in a nanosecond or less. Although frightening for some people, this paradigm shift can be exciting and may broaden the palette from which we can draw, paint, sketch, doodle, et cetera to ad infinitum.

The main things to keep in mind during these times:
• to take everything with a grain of salt
• not to judge what is occurring without full information and then to be skeptically questionable both in regard to whether one has full information and whether the information is valid and if even valid for how long does it remain valid
• to be flexible and adaptable or as the Taoist would suggest: ‘bend like a reed or break like an oak’.
• to maintain bemusement at humanity’s, and one’s own, foibles
• and especially to ’chill’ and lighten up… It’s not called en-lightenment for nothing

Down from the soapbox and getting back to the week ahead, this week starts off with our creative juices flowing. Whether we wish to engage our own creative talents in whatever venue we might choose or we observe other people’s creative projects, or we just have a good time with some fun event; we are primarily interested in breathing the warmth of the springtime with its vibrant impulses and sense of renewal evident in nature all around us.

The mid-week period can have us looking at the details of our different engagements, wanting to move things ahead in a practical and grounded manner. While we might have our head down and nose to grindstone taking care of our mundane affairs, we may have a serendipitous encounter where someone pops up into our daily life and helps us to see beyond our normal existence. Surprising contacts could provide an interesting twist to our daily life.

We do have to avoid exhausting ourselves. The impetus to get moving with the springtime thrust can have us trying to do too much and participate in too many things. We do need to keep in mind the Mercury retrograde with the liability of things taking longer than we might like with possible miscommunications and misunderstandings along the way.

We could start this week with a head of steam and find ourselves running out of steam towards the latter part of the week.

The weekend gives us the Libra Full Moon and Venus moving out of Aries, where Venus is in Detriment and uncomfortable, and Venus moving into its own Sign of Taurus. We may be more interested in all things bright and beautiful and might decide to use the weekend to add to our wardrobe.

The weekend can be highly active with various push pulls with us wanting to do our own thing, addressing someone else’s interests and juggling the responsibilities of our mundane world.

Monday, March 26th – Dark of the Night, Light of the Day – Uranus, Sun. The early hours of this Monday has the Moon finishing its transit of Cancer with the Moon square Uranus. The Moon then moves into Leo where late on this Monday the Moon trines the Sun. We may have a restless sleep night with some tossing and turning before we awaken on this Monday. We might feel tentative about our plans and our desires to step out and focus on new trajectories for ourselves. A sense of being stuck could prove only momentary, for as the day commences we may get a second wind. As the light of the day wakens us, we are likely to dispel the darkness and liable anxiety of the night. This is a day when we may focus on our own personal projects, feel warmed by the springtime energies, and choose to put our individual mark on some of our daily activities. We are not likely to shrink behind our self-consciousness but more likely to start banging our drum loudly. This is a day for us to embrace and engage our creativity no matter the format in which we choose to do so. The beauty of these times is the technological tools developed for us to easily express our talents. Now is the time for us to use them.

Tuesday, March 27th – When Enough Is Enough – Mercury, Jupiter. The Moon continues its transit of Leo on this Tuesday with the Moon today trine Mercury early in the day, and the Moon square Jupiter late in the day. We can start this Tuesday giving thought to where to place our energy and the right procedures to accomplish our plans. Much of this day can be largely about what we want to do, putting our personal mark upon our involvements and an ability to clearly explain and justify our approach to situations. Our presentations can be warm and appealing, just as long as we take our time to deal with the bullet points for our case. Things might seem to be operating on greased wheels with everything seemingly going our way. And therein lies a problem. We could be so enamored with our own abilities, the ease of our accomplishments and the success of our actions that we assume that we can handle ever more. The latter part of the day could create a liability of our overreach whereby we are trying to do too much and willing to expend our resources without a careful eye on our expenditures. We may have a tendency to do ever more as the day progresses and our plans for tomorrow, but it would be wise to moderate our intentions and prioritize our plans so that we don’t sabotage ourselves by trying too hard and trying too much. This Tuesday is a day when we need to recognize when enough is enough.

Wednesday, March 28th – All Powerful Me – Venus, Uranus, Mars. The Moon finishes its transit of Leo in the early morning hours of this Wednesday and before it does so the Leo Moon trines Venus and trines Uranus both in Aries. Our focus may be more in line with what we want to do and how we want to do it. We may put on blinders with a narrow vision and that perspective being our own thing. The thrust of energy we might have felt over the past two days stirs the fires on the early morning of this Wednesday. We may be our creative best, emphasizing our individuality by means of a quirky accessory to our dress, and ready to make our mark on the world. While the emphasis on our uniqueness can be refreshing to us, feeling as though we have liberated ourselves from the bonds of accepted conventionality, we are unlikely to go overboard by marching to our own drummer on this Wednesday. As the day progresses, the Moon exits Leo to enter Virgo where late in the day the Virgo Moon trines Mars in Capricorn. From a creative burst of energy with us wanting to put our personal spin on things, we move into a more practical and grounded approach. This Wednesday can prove a primo day, a day when we feel energized and willing to focus on our personal interests, all the while that we can do so in a methodical manner. This is a day when we can see the big picture and attend to the specific ingredients that make up the big picture. We have both the foresight and the attention to detail to be highly effective on this Wednesday. Added to our fiery nature and focused intent, we also have Venus conjunct Uranus today. Whether we bump into someone or hear from someone out of the blue, we are ready and open to receive interesting input from someone who can make us aware of options we might not have considered. This Wednesday is a strong day when we can look to the far horizon, take the necessary steps in that direction all the while that we are receptive to input regarding alternatives and interesting encounters.

Thursday, March 29th – Without Getting Carried Away – Saturn, Neptune, Pluto, Sun. The Virgo Moon on this Thursday trines both Saturn and Pluto both in Capricorn, and the Moon opposes Neptune. The Sun squares Saturn. We might have accomplished a great deal on Wednesday, and we might start this Thursday believing that we are operating on greased wheels where everything is going our way and nothing could possibly go wrong. Nice concept, but such an assumption might fan the flames of arrogance. If we get carried away with a sense of our own infallibility, we could find ourselves banging up against certain obstacles. This is a day for us to put one foot in front of the other, focus on what is right in front of us and to prioritize our activities. If we try to do too much today, we might either exhaust ourselves or wind up being non-productive, even going around in circles. We can accomplish more with less expenditure of energy if we take things step by step.

Friday, March 30th – Good and Lazy – Jupiter, Moon Void-of-Course. Friday begins with the Virgo Moon sextile Jupiter. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for thirteen hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Virgo and before the Moon enters Libra later in the day. If we didn’t bang our head against the walls yesterday by trying to do too much, we can start this Friday highly resourceful and able to virtually squeeze blood from a stone. This Friday can have us dealing with outstanding matters and considering how to fix up our home for any forthcoming Easter holiday celebrations. This is Good Friday and no matter what we do, we might prefer just lazing the day away. We can engage in social get-togethers and see this Friday as the start of a long relaxing holiday weekend. Social occasions can be pleasant times to catch up with friends and family. We are right on the edge of tomorrow’s Libra Full Moon so it would be wise for us to keep in mind the balance between personal needs and the needs of someone else. Collaboration is called for.

Saturday, March 31st – Keeping It Together – Lunar T-Square, Mars, Saturn, Mercury, Libra Full Moon, Sun, Venus Taurus. Saturday has the Libra Full Moon and a Lunar T-Square as the Libra Moon opposes both the Sun and Mercury both in Aries, and squares both Mars and Saturn both in Capricorn. Saturday and Sunday have the Libra Moon triggering the Cardinal Sign T-Square with different players in Aries and Capricorn on these two days. Talk about a high energy weekend! We can be all over the place on this weekend, and often led by our commitments and someone else’s plans. Let’s keep in mind that this is Easter weekend. Whether we are religious or not, we are likely to be swept up in the festivities of chocolate bunnies, real live chicks, banquet style meals and the convivialities of getting together with family and / or friends. The pace is likely to be lively on this weekend, so we might need to sharpen our juggling skills, since juggling any number of things and people might be part of our weekend fare. The main thrust of this weekend is to have a good time. With Venus exiting Aries, a Sign of Detriment for Venus where Venus is not comfortable, and with Venus entering Taurus, a Sign that Venus rules and where appearance and style are accentuated, this weekend can have us dressing up and stepping out in style.

Sunday, April 1st – Putting on the Ritz – Lunar T-Square, Pluto, Uranus, Moon Void-of-Course, Venus, Sun, Mercury. Sunday is Easter Sunday and also the 1st of April. While April 1st is often considered All Fool’s Day, we are unlikely to suffer the fool, even if we inadvertently play one ourself. The Cardinal Sign T-Square that we had yesterday continues today with different players as the Libra Moon today squares Pluto in Capricorn and the Moon opposes Uranus in Aries. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for four and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Libra and before the Moon enters Scorpio later in the day where today the Scorpio Moon opposes Venus. The Sun conjuncts Mercury. Saturday and Sunday, this Easter weekend, may be all about social engagements, get-togethers with family or friends with a focus on celebration. The push pulls between obligated commitments and other people’s interests can be strong this weekend, even to the point of putting our own personal interests on the back burner, although unlikely for too long. This is one of those days when someone can be talking about themselves too much with little receptivity to what other people have to say. In every gathering, there is sometimes that one person who seems like the crazy uncle and goes on and on and on about whatever with few people listening to them except for themselves. With the traditional focus of putting on our Sunday best, or putting on the Ritz, we have to be careful that we don’t overspend, all with the justification that we need a new Spring wardrobe or that indulgences are part of the Easter celebration. Moderation in all things is suggested, unlikely to be heeded.
