The astrology for this week of March 12th through the 18th of 2018 gives us the last full week of winter and the end to the zodiac wheel prior to next week’s Vernal Equinox, the astrological New Year as the Sun exits Pisces to enter Aries. This is also the last week before next week’s start of the first of this year’s three Mercury retrogrades. Oh, joy!
Before we get there, we have this week in which to bring closure to matters and tie up loose ends, all the while that we’re looking ahead to the spring season. Many of us may be glad that winter is loosening its grip, but there can still be a grasping quality before winter cedes to spring.
The week begins with us tending to details, prioritizing our affairs and seeking to broaden our reach in a calculated, systematic way. Systematic is an interesting concept, especially during these volatile times, when nothing would seem systematic as far as sequential progression. If we can see systematic as being disjointed with various pieces fitting in an asequential, rather extraordinary, manner, then systematic works with different particulars fitting in rather strange ways but with the totality coming together in innovative and unexpected methods.
The beginning of the week can have us addressing our goals, our ambitions, but also completing certain tasks that we wish to leave behind in the closing out of the winter season. We also seem to be champing at the bit with a heavy dose of ‘spring fever’ even before spring has sprung.
The mid-part of the week would be a good time for us to engage our creative pursuits, think outside the box and give thought to future plans.
The latter part of the week could have us feeling very moody. Our intuitive sense can be strong if our emotions don’t send us into a downward spiral of ‘what could be’ or ‘what should be’ according to our limited personal preference.
The weekend gives us the Pisces New Moon with the Moon in the third decanate of Pisces [the Scorpio decanate]. Our spiritual sense can be strong, and we might feel guided by our personal destiny. With Mars exiting Sagittarius to enter Capricorn, we may be far more concerned with putting our spirit into action, blending our foresight with our physical energy to determine how and what we wish to initiate in the days ahead.
The weekend comes to closure with us likely getting a second wind. We might want to bound ahead, but it would be wise for us not to negate or neglect our responsibilities. Otherwise, we might find our bounding to be more like a bungee cord where we thrust ourselves out, only to have us sprung back into old situations. Spring will sprung but not quite during this week.
Monday, March 12th – Taking Care of Business – Pluto, Sun, Jupiter, Uranus, Moon Void-of-Course. Monday begins the week with the Moon finishing its transit of Capricorn. The Moon today conjuncts Pluto, the Moon sextiles the Sun in Pisces and the Moon sextiles Jupiter in Scorpio. The Moon squares Uranus before the Moon goes Void-of-Course for over seven hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Capricorn and before the Moon enters Aquarius late in the day. This is a day when we can tie up various loose ends, complete certain matters and deal with the specifics in an expeditious manner. We can be highly resourceful today. Even if we would prefer to do whatever catches our fancy today, it would be far wiser to take care of business and address pressing demands. Let’s keep in mind that next week Mercury turns retrograde, so if we have significant decisions to make, it would be better for us to do so prior to the Mercury retrograde or four weeks hence after Mercury turns direct on the 15th of April. By dealing with our usual responsibilities today, we can use the next couple of days getting together with friends and colleagues and making our future plans.
Tuesday, March 13th – I.O.U. – Venus, Mercury, Saturn, Sun, Jupiter. Tuesday has the Aquarius Moon with the Moon both sextile Venus and sextile Mercury, both of which are transiting Aries. Venus squares Saturn, and the Sun trines Jupiter. Tuesday can be a time when we are looking to engage other people. We can use people as objective sounding boards, bouncing our ideas of future plans off those who are detached and might see things that we don’t notice. We may be too close, too attached, to our intentions that we could be missing something in our consideration. Someone could provide wise counsel, especially since we might be overjoyed and highly optimistic about our prospects. What we do have to be careful about is anyone calling in their i.o.u. If someone has done something for us in the past, today may be a day for us to repay our obligation. We could be generous to a fault today, so it would be wise for us to avoid extravagance. Any expenditures today might have us overpaying. Let’s budget our time, our finances and our involvements.
Wednesday, March 14th – Too Much And Not Enough – Jupiter, Uranus. Wednesday continues with the Aquarius Moon with the Moon today square Jupiter and the Moon sextile Uranus. The liability of spending too much, doing too much and committing too much might have been strong yesterday and could continue on this Wednesday. We may be so enamored with our plans that we are willing to bet the ranch on intentions that may seem great in concept but might prove to be a bottomless pit. The key to this day and to our future pursuits is how best we can streamline operations. Not only are we looking to be more effective with less expenditure of energy. New technologies and new techniques might preserve our resources — why pay for something when it’s not needed or could be outmoded? If we are willing to think outside the box and be open to unanticipated methods or utilizing new technologies, then we can work smarter rather than harder. It is important for us to take into account where we place our energies and the budgeting of our resources. New pursuits may have a life of their own and might determine what is needed as the process commences and not merely from the get-go.
Thursday, March 15th – Backing Up Our Intentions – Mars, Saturn. The Moon finishes its transit of Aquarius in the early morning hours and the Moon sextiles Mars before the Moon moves into Pisces where late in the day the Moon sextiles Saturn. We might want to put our spirit into action, focus on our future goals and expand our involvements. While we have a great deal of energy early on this Thursday, suddenly our moods can change and we could feel far more emotional, even moody. Our energy could flag and our sensitivity might ratchet up. While we may not have the boldness and the brawn to move mountains, as we might have assumed our ability to do so earlier this Thursday and over the past two days, our intuition and our ability to think things through can be stronger. We may be less impulsive, more willing to deal with our responsibilities, and less inclined to be distracted from our daily tasks by impressionistic concepts and unfounded abstracts. This is a day when we can get our feet back on the ground, devise a best practices approach and tie up loose ends before we come into the spring season next week and the Mercury retrograde. We are at the end of an annual cycle and this Thursday, tomorrow and early Saturday are good times to bring closure to any involvements that we don’t want to bring into the spring season, the time of new beginnings and the start of the astrological New Year.
Friday, March 16th – Prioritizing by Listening to our Inner Voice – Neptune, Pluto. Friday is on the dark side of the Moon prior to tomorrow’s New Moon. We are still with the waning Moon, the lunar cycle that is far better for completions and eliminations than for initiations or beginnings. The sense of conclusion can be heightened today with the Pisces Moon conjunct Neptune and the Moon sextile Pluto. It would be wise for us to listen to our inner voice, heed the call of our spirit, and consider whether we are rightly on our path or if instead we have stepped away drawn by superficial fascinations and shallow intrigues. If we would take some time in the morning to reflect, contemplate and meditate on what we wish to eliminate from our lives and what we wish to concentrate on and emphasize, we could become clear of a necessary winter – spring cleaning and clearing out. Quiet time on this Friday can be time well worth spent, for we can attune ourselves to our priorities, those engagements that have true meaning and significant purpose for us. This is a good day to clear the decks of outstanding matters and prepare for the impetus that Saturday’s New Moon can provide and that the Vernal Equinox next Tuesday may add greater fire to.
Saturday, March 17th – Shaking Out the Snakes – Jupiter, Pisces New Moon, Sun, Moon Void-of-Course, Mars, Mars Capricorn. Friday evening and early Saturday morning can find us in wild abandon and celebrating St. Patrick’s Day. Yes, this Saturday, March 17th, is the day that we are all Irish with us likely wearing the green. The Pisces Moon today trines Jupiter, the Moon conjuncts the Sun at the time of the New Moon, and then the Moon goes Void-of-Course for five and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Pisces and before the Moon enters Aries where today the Aries Moon squares Mars, which today has exited Sagittarius to enter Capricorn. The sense of ‘out with the old, in with the new’ might be our sentiment on this Saturday. The past two days may have had us tying up loose ends, and we can conclude much of our clean up and clear out on this Saturday. We can get rid of various matters, all the while that we are celebrating the day. Whether we partake in corned beef and cabbage, boiled potatoes and a pint of Guinness or not, it would be hard to dispel the upbeat energetic energy of this Saturday. Not only do we have the thrust of the New Moon but we also have Mars coming into Capricorn where our energy can be focused on our goals and our ambitions. The Moon entering Aries reinforces the sense of impending spring. We’re ready for new projects and new beginnings that the spring season offers. We may try to be fast out of the starting gate, but it is suggested that we have itinerary in hand before moving ahead.
Sunday, March 18th – Meaning No Disrespect – Saturn, Venus, Mercury. Sunday’s Aries Moon squares Saturn early in the day, and the Moon conjuncts both Venus and Mercury late in the day. We may awaken to obligations and commitments made. While we might feel as though our ‘down time’ is taken up by things we have to do rather than what we want to do, we can take care of scheduled plans early in the day and enjoy ourselves later in the day to close out the week. If we have certain matters that need to be accomplished, it would be wise for us to carve out some time in order to do so today. Let’s keep in mind that Mercury will be turning retrograde on this next Thursday the 22nd, and it is always better to avoid major decisions or significant purchases during the Mercury retrograde. We might consider getting our taxes and finances together in light of the fact that Mercury will be retrograde until the 15th of April with the US federal tax deadline being on the 17th of April this year. To try and do our taxes during Mercury retrograde would seem a prescription for disaster or for things liable to get convoluted at the least.
