January 8th – 14th, 2018

The astrology for this week of January 8th through the 14th of 2018 indicates our sinking our teeth into the new year and concentrating on our goals and greatest ambitions.

We start the week feeling upbeat and raring to go. With enthusiasm, confidence, optimism, and with intense energy and determination we could virtually move mountains as we begin the week. We just have to be wary that no one is standing in our way, for they might be run over by our focused intent.

Much of this week can have us attending to laying down the solid foundation stones for our goals and plans for 2018. There may be no stopping us as we proceed forward with assistance or without assistance, no matter, since we are geared to prioritizing our actions and moving forcefully ahead, any obstacles in our way be damned.

The end of the week and the weekend could be a time for us to take off out of town, but we might find that much of the positive energy of the week turns into convoluted and frustrating times over the weekend. The weekend can be a time when we may feel out of sorts with unexpected situations creating havoc with our plans.

The weekday days this week are powerful with few impediments in our way, but the weekend can have us stumbling in with various curveballs thrown at us. Let’s use the week to move our mountains and the weekend to batten down the hatches and prepare for the unanticipated incoming. It’s all about timing. Everything is about timing.

Monday, January 8th – Nobody Gonna Break My Stride – Venus, Sun, Pluto, Jupiter, Mars. We start the week in overdrive on this Monday. The Moon continues its transit of Libra, but in the late day hours the Libra Moon squares the Capricorn transiting planets of Venus, the Sun and Pluto. The earlier part of the day with its influence over the entire day has the Sun and Venus both sextile Jupiter and Mars sextile Pluto. We can start this Monday and the week with our flags flying. We are likely to be feeling optimistic and confident of our abilities. Not only are we focused on our goals and ambitions for this new year. We are being highly resourceful, virtually to the point of being able to get blood from a stone, all the while engaging a best practices approach where we not only prioritize our actions but also are expeditious in our means. This is one powerful day when we can accomplish a great deal. Later in the day, we have to be wary that someone is not being insistent with their demands or proving a naysayer to our intentions. Even if someone tries to trip us up, we are likely to be too astute and flexible to be snookered into putting down our own personal interests to deal with their issues. This week is for us to turn up the tempo, move forcefully ahead and get a great deal done.

Tuesday, January 9th – Getting Done with Aplomb – Uranus, Mercury, Moon Void-of-Course, Saturn, Sun, Venus, Pluto, Mars. The intense driving energy of yesterday continues on this Tuesday. Monday and Tuesday can be two primo days when we might feel as though we are operating on greased wheels with everything going our way, except for occasional hiccups from other people’s issues yesterday and our own self-absorbed tendencies today. Tuesday has the Moon finishing its transit of Libra with the Libra Moon opposed Uranus and the Moon sextile Mercury. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for almost four hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Libra and before the Moon enters Scorpio where today the Scorpio Moon sextiles Saturn. The main ingredients to this day continue with the Capricorn transiting planets as the Sun conjuncts Venus and they both conjunct Pluto. Venus sextiles Mars. This is a day when we can gain assistance for our projects both by the impression of our competence and abilities and also by means of our ‘making nice’ with whomever we wish to engage. We do have to be wary that we don’t get too smug today. With everything seemingly going our way we could fall into being a little too much for other people and for ourselves too. This is a day for us to focus on our plans and our long-term goals and to lay down the foundation stones solidly of our greatest ambitions. Everything can fit neatly into place, and we could discover that Monday and Tuesday of this week have allowed us to create a strong and solid template for our future goals.

Wednesday, January 10th – Without Breaking Stride – Neptune, Sun, Mars. Monday and Tuesday could have had us in overdrive but being highly accomplished and successful in whatever we did. Wednesday continues with a similar energy but without the same level of intensity. The Scorpio Moon sextiles Neptune and the Sun sextiles Mars. The last two days may have had us falling back into the old paradigm mindset of making things happen and being in total control of our trajectories. We might have had interference from someone, but nothing truly got in our way the past two days. While our actions and movements may have been highly intense, this Wednesday seems to slow things down and allows us to let the universe do its work. Things can fit neatly into place today if we accept the idea of allowing things to unfold in accord with their own natural rhythm, their own distinct pace. This is a day for us to take stock of what has gone on, listen to our inner voice and be guided by the soft nudges of our intuition or feelings about things. We might find that today we can be more effective with less expenditure of energy. There are times to be aggressively assertive, other times for us to be subtle and use the tai chi moves of soft but attuned movements. The last two days could have been more like the former disposition, while this Wednesday is a day for the latter attitude.

Thursday, January 11th – Cards Close to the Chest – Jupiter, Pluto, Mars, Sun, Venus, Moon Void-of-Course, Mercury Capricorn. Much of the energy on this Thursday occurs in the morning hours. The Scorpio Moon today conjuncts both Scorpio-transiting planets of Jupiter and Mars, and the Moon sextiles the Capricorn transiting planets of Pluto, the Sun and Venus. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for sixteen hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Scorpio and before the Moon enters Sagittarius early on Friday morning. Mercury exits Sagittarius, a Sign of Detriment for Mercury where Mercury is not comfortable, and Mercury enters Capricorn adding greater impact of the Capricorn Stellium as Mercury joins Saturn, Pluto, the Sun and Venus in the Cardinal Earth Sign. We may not reveal a great amount today, for we could be singularly focused on what we want to do and how we want to do it. We might not be looking for any input from the outside world. We can have a sense of rightly following our path and doing so with fierce intent. We could be incredibly resourceful today, able to march through any impediments and looking for the best ways to accomplish our ends. Even if we are in a crowd of people, we are likely to be in our ‘alone’ space contemplating our best practices approach to realize our goals.

Friday, January 12th – Gone Fishing. The Moon moves into Sagittarius today but makes no connections to the planets on this Friday. After what might have been a whirlwind start to the week that may have only slightly tapered off the past two days, this Friday could be a day for us to catch our breath. A great deal can have occurred this week, and we might use this Friday either to go over the tsunami-like happenings of the week or just step off the track in order to have a fresh perspective regarding the goings-on of this new year. This is a day for us to take a philosophical approach and consider what the various pieces mean that we might have carved or may have been presented to us as we started this year. Of all the days of this week, this Friday is a day to hang out the ‘gone fishing’ sign. The weekend could prove dicey and less relaxing than we might like, so this Friday would be a day for us to reflect, recharge and reinvigorate.

Saturday, January 13th – Bitten in the Backside – Neptune, Mercury, Saturn, Venus, Uranus. Saturday and Sunday give us some strong Uranus aspects and not favorable conditions. Saturday has the Sagittarius Moon square Neptune. Mercury conjuncts Saturn and Venus squares Uranus. Tomorrow, the Sun squares Uranus. We might feel a little woozy and down in the dump as we start this Saturday. We can have errands to run, responsibilities to address, and all with a sense of resentment that we are tied down by our obligations rather than able to spread our wings and fly away. There is a liability today to whatever we do could be perceived as wrong. Not only can we be hard on ourselves but misunderstandings and issues with other people may also arise. We might wish to break free of old conventions and the expectations of other people based upon past experience. But we could also feel like we’re up against indomitable forces. We may have started the week feeling invincible but this weekend could knock the wind out of our sails. Let’s not give into frustration, anger or bitterness. Let’s keep in mind that timing is everything, and this weekend is in stark contrast to earlier in the week. This is a day for us to ‘grin and bear it’, and stay aware of possible incoming from the most unexpected sources.

Sunday, January 14th – Bungee Cord – Uranus, Moon Void-of-Course, Saturn, Sun. Sunday begins with the Sagittarius Moon trine Uranus. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for almost eleven hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Sagittarius and before the Moon enters Capricorn where later on this Sunday the Moon conjuncts Saturn. The Sun squares Uranus. If we got into a disagreement or even a knock down drag out fight with someone yesterday, we can dust ourselves off and commit to doing what we want and the way we want to do it. We may have great plans to do whatever we choose to do on this Sunday, act spontaneously, even impulsively. That may be all well and good in the early hours of this Sunday, but as the day proceeds we might get a little more serious and concentrate on what needs to get done. We might not like having our wings clipped. That might have occurred at the hands of someone else yesterday, but on this Sunday we might prove to be our own wing clipper. If we can enjoy serendipitous moments early on this Sunday, then we might be less reticent of getting back in harness and concentrating on our responsibilities and ambitions later in the day. The evening hours would be a good time to strategize our schedule for the forthcoming week. We started the week on all cylinders firing and everything seeming to go our way. We may have hit some bumps in the road over the weekend but we can regroup and recapture the sentiments of earlier this week in preparation for the week ahead, a week that also gives us the Capricorn New Moon.
