January 22nd – 28th, 2018

The astrology for this week of January 22nd – 28th can have us moving aggressively ahead with impetuousness before we slow things down, take things step by step and in the process become more effective and productive.

We may be fast out of the starting gate as we begin the week. We are looking to put our individual mark upon things and with little regard to the standards or parameters of what would be considered a ‘best practices’ approach. We could be more interested in the initiation and perceived destination than the means to accomplish our intentions.

We might be putting our obligations and responsibilities on the back burner as we begin the week, and we can seem more like a bull in a china shop, banging and crashing about.

Fortunately, the mid-week period can put the brakes on, may slow us down and could have us concentrate on the right template to achieve our goals. Even if we stumbled and bumbled at the beginning of the week due to our haste and impulsiveness, the mid-week period through the end of the week can have us more attentive to the details with a laser-like focus. We may be resourceful and feeling upbeat.

The end of the week can have us champing at the bit, wanting to get out of Dodge and inclined to keep many balls in the air. The weekend can be a time of more rather than less with us going from one thing to another to another.

A major caveat for the weekend is the Mercury square Uranus, my least favorite energy configuration for flying. Whether we are traveling or not, it would be wise to add on extra time to whatever we are doing with contingency plans in mind just in case. There can be miscommunications, travel delays and Internet or computer problems. The weekend is a time for us to slow down and not move too fast.

Monday, January 22nd – Rock or Sand – Sun, Saturn, Venus. The week starts with the Moon entering Aries, the beginning of the zodiac wheel. The Aries Moon today sextiles both the Sun and Venus both in Aquarius and the Moon square Saturn. We could be so enamored by what we see in the distance, our goals or our intended destination that we forget to look down or take into account what is right in front of us. If we have certain responsibilities to attend to, we are more likely to put them on the back burner. Whatever we can do to step away from the tasks at hand, we are likely to do so. This is a day when we might prefer to think about possibilities, options and alternatives rather than our daily routine. We could spend the day chatting up various people all with the justification that we are getting their ideas and gauging their opinions. And there could be some purpose to drawing upon the counsel of other people with their detached perspective and objective viewpoint. Either we could build castles in the air today or determine future trajectories built upon solid rock. Rock or sand, that’s always our choice.

Tuesday, January 23rd – Going My Way – Mercury, Pluto, Uranus. Tuesday continues with the Moon transiting Aries with the Moon today square Mercury and square Pluto both in Capricorn. Late in the day, the Moon conjuncts Uranus. The push – pull between our obligations and blowing off our routine demands to do whatever we want to do is a key tone to Monday and Tuesday. Even if we grumble about it, it would be suggested that we take care of pressing demands early on this Tuesday. If we had larked about yesterday and postponed pending matters, such issues could be at the forefront during this Tuesday. We might not want to address the tasks at hand, but they are unlikely to go away. This Tuesday would best work if we would attend to what needs to get done and then use the latter part of the day to do whatever we choose to do on the spur of the moment. Let’s not be petulant about our daily routine and any sense that we’re not getting what we want. Either we can throw a tantrum, procrastinate or waste our time, OR we can address matters, clean the slate and have time to concentrate on other more exciting prospects.

Wednesday, January 24th – Getting Serious – Saturn, Sun, Mercury, Pluto. Wednesday has the Moon moving into Taurus where today the Moon trines Saturn and the Moon squares the Sun. Mercury conjuncts Pluto. Whether we dealt with what we needed to deal with or just blew everything off to our own whims over the past two days, this Wednesday provides us the energy to get serious and deal with our obligations. Instead of knee-jerk reactions and impulsive actions that we might have caved to over the past two days, we are more in synch with taking things step by step today. We can accomplish a great deal on this Wednesday so long as we are not diverted by bright and sparkly distractions. Our mind is sharp and our ability to cut to the core to get to the essence of any situation is spot on. Nobody is likely to pull the wool over our eyes today, not even our closest confidante if they were to try and do so. We might feel that we have laser-like vision today. Certainly, we can plan and strategize and come up with the most expeditious and practical manner to accomplish our goals.

Thursday, January 25th – Proud of Ourselves – Lunar T-Square, Venus, Neptune, Pluto, Jupiter, Mercury, Moon Void-of-Course. Thursday continues with the Taurus Moon with the Moon today triggering a Fixed Sign T-Square as the Moon squares Venus in Aquarius and the Moon opposes Jupiter in Scorpio. The Moon sextiles Neptune, and the Moon trines both Pluto and Mercury both in Capricorn. Mercury sextiles Jupiter. We might not like plodding along and just putting one foot in front of the other. We could prefer taking the blinders off and looking at things on our periphery. We may question whether we have the resources to deal with what we wish to accomplish. Any and all kvetching can be just a huge waste of time, totally non-productive and liable to be completely exhausting. Why would we go there? Especially since this day allows us to feel good about what we are doing with a recognition that we might be able to design a best practices approach to attain our aims and even to the point of being so resourceful that we are capable of the impossible feat of squeezing blood from of a stone. We can be feeling good about ourselves and our abilities if we would stay focused on what is right in front of us. Often we are so enamored with the ‘what next’ that we don’t take the time to savor our accomplishments. Today is a day for us to recognize our successes and our talents and be proud of what we have done. Late in the day, the Moon goes Void-of-Course for close to fourteen and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Taurus and before the Moon enters Gemini on Friday.

Friday, January 26th – All This And More – Moon Void-of-Course, Mars, Mars Sagittarius. Friday begins with the Moon Void-of-Course as the Moon finishes its transit of Taurus and before the Moon enters Gemini where today the Moon opposes Mars, where earlier today Mars had exited Scorpio to enter Sagittarius. We may have started the week in a helter-skelter fashion, even to the point of being Quixote-like and tilting against windmills. The mid-week and latter part of the week could have had us slowing things down, taking things step by step and with a concentrated attention to accomplishing our priorities. Friday and much of the weekend seem to have all bets off, as we return to a frenetic pace. This Friday can have us taking on evermore. We are more interested in playing the xylophone rather than the one note Samba. We may not stay with anything very long. Instead, we can be going from one thing to another to another, the more the merrier. The liability of scratching the surface on anything and everything means that we are likely to accept things at face value, do away with due diligence and find ourselves in a maze of activity but without any center. While we could be enamored with the level of our activity today, we might spread ourselves so thin that we accomplish little except for a great deal of frenzy. Variety may be the spice of life, and this Friday may prove highly spicy.

Saturday, January 27th – All Together Now – Sun, Venus, Neptune. Saturday is a great day for social occasions and get-togethers. The Moon continues its transit of Gemini with the Moon today trine both the Sun and Venus both in Aquarius, and the Moon square Neptune. Following up on yesterday’s shift in energy from a concentrated focus to juggling any number of activities and interests, Saturday can be geared to our making plans with other people and possibly making many various plans with many different people. Although we might assume that we can cover all bases today, such a belief also necessitates strong time management skills. We might be like a butterfly going from flower to flower, alighting briefly with one social engagement before flying off to yet another get-together. Such a course could seem all well and good, but we do have to be wary that our brief times spent don’t annoy someone or exhaust us. It would be wise to plan out our day before we start off at a quick pace, to prioritize our intended activities and have contingency plans should our movements be impeded or interrupted. This is one of those days when we need to write down our plans in pencil with a large eraser with the recognition that no matter our intentions for the day we might just not be able to do it all.

Sunday, January 28th – Monkey Wrenches or Lateral Lobotomies – Uranus, Moon Void-of-Course, Saturn, Mercury. Sunday begins with the Gemini Moon sextile Uranus. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for eight and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Gemini and before the Moon enters Cancer where late on this Sunday the Moon opposes Saturn. Mercury squares Uranus. We may want to catch up with someone as we start this Sunday. Whether we intended to get together with them yesterday or made plans to get together today, our intentions are good but so too, as the proverb states, are the pathways to hell. This Sunday has my least favorite energy configuration for travel and especially air travel. We also have to be careful regarding communications with a liability to misunderstandings, and care in regard to computer issues with a tendency to work getting lost, Internet going down and all other sorts of miscues. Sunday virtually demands that we have contingency plans in mind, for things can be incredibly squirrely today with unexpected situations throwing monkey wrenches in the spokes of our plans. Whatever we do, today asks that we be flexible and adaptable and adept at shifting and changing in accord with the alterations we might encounter in the conditions and circumstances along our way today.
