The astrology for this week of December 25th through the 31st, the last week of 2017, suggests we keep things merry, merry rather than heavy, heavy.
The week begins with Christmas Day and a tendency to reinforce traditional celebrations. Whatever we choose to do to start this week might be reminiscent of ghosts of Christmas past. The strange thing is that we might feel as though old traditions no longer play in today’s energy swirls.
As we start the week, we may find ourselves taking a walk down Memory Lane. We are likely to recall experiences of our past flamed either by personal contact with people we have been connected to for much of our lifetime or in reflections of those people who have graced our path along our personal life journey.
Even if we have to perform certain ritual obligations to begin the week, let’s try to keep it light rather than heavy. There is no need for us to fall into an emotional morass.
The mid-part of the week can have us contemplating new directions we may choose to take as we come into the new year. We don’t want to be hampered by routine tasks or our self-imposed identities. As if breaking free of a straight jacket, we may wish to expand our interests and our involvements beyond our usual parameters. The question of how and when may perplex us, but it would be suggested that we keep in mind the paradigm shift we are all likely experiencing — a transition from the linear, sequential reality of our past into the asequential, non-linear reality of our present and more so our future.
No longer do we have to do it all, and try to make things happen. On the contrary, we could be open to the unexpected and unanticipated evolving, those situations that seem like magic and mini-miracles. These times are not your parents’ times of the past or even our times of recent past. The game of life has changed.
The latter part of the week could have us preparing the canvas for our new year on which to draw our new developments and paint our expressed resolutions for the year ahead.
The weekend may have us in a frenzy of activity as we determine how best to end the year of 2017 and celebrate the myriad of possibilities that the new year of 2018 might offer.
Merry Christmas, Happy New Year.
Monday, December 25th – Keep It Merry – Moon Void-of-Course, Saturn, Venus, Venus Capricorn. Monday is Christmas Day and many of us may be slogging through the traffic and the weather to get to our intended destination. Monday begins this week with the Pisces Moon Void-of-Course as the Moon completes its almost twenty-two hours of finishing its transit of Pisces without making further connections to the planets and before the Moon enters Aries late on Christmas Day. As the Moon moves into Aries late in the day on this Monday the Moon squares Saturn and the Moon squares Venus both in Capricorn. The day begins with Venus exiting Sagittarius to enter Capricorn and Venus conjuncts Saturn today. Duty, obligation, responsibilities could put a damper on this Christmas Day. It’s important that we keep things light and merry. If we reduce our expectations for this Monday, we are less likely to suffer disappointment. With four planets now in the Cardinal Earth Sign of Capricorn, we can focus on our goals, organize our activities and take a practical approach to everything we do.
Tuesday, December 26th – Nothing In Our Way – Sun, Mercury. Tuesday begins with us finishing up what needs to get done. The Aries Moon today squares the Sun early in the day and the Moon trines Mercury late in the day. We might be cleaning up after the festivities of the weekend or we could be preparing for the forthcoming New Year’s festivities this coming weekend. The early part of the day can have us straightening and tidying, the latter part of the day more geared to letting our mind wander to far off places. Even if Christmas wasn’t everything we could have hoped it to be, we need not feel hampered by regret or disappointment. Let’s clear the decks early in the day, move on, and move into a more upbeat and optimistic mindset during the latter part of the day. First things first, for we may not want to be limited by outstanding matters as we plan our days ahead. The more we tie up loose ends, the more space and time we’ll have for new activities and exciting possibilities.
Wednesday, December 27th – Cutting Ties that Bind – Pluto, Uranus, Moon Void-of-Course. Yesterday and today may seem to have similar patterns, a tendency to be forced to deal with responsibilities early in the day followed later in the day with the opportunity of spreading our wings. This Wednesday has the Aries Moon square Pluto early in the morning and the Moon conjunct Uranus later in the day. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for nine and a half hours with the Aries Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Aries and before the Moon enters Taurus late in the day. Tuesday and Wednesday are best served by taking care of what needs to be done early in the day. If we accomplish any pressing demands, then we can take the rest of the day to lark about or do whatever catches our fancy and act spontaneously. With this being a holiday period, there are many diversions and distractions that can have us taking the eye off the ball. We could certainly engage the festivities of these holidays while at the same time attending to what needs to get done.
Thursday, December 28th – All Fitting Neatly Together – Saturn, Venus, Sun, Neptune, Mars. Thursday might prove the best and most productive day of this week. The Moon enters Taurus where today the Moon trines the Capricorn transiting planets of Saturn, Venus and the Sun. The Moon sextiles Neptune and the Moon opposes Mars. Mars trines Neptune. The last two days may have had us in a push pull between what we had to do and what we wanted to do with a liability of resenting the tasks at hand. This Thursday allows us to have nose to grindstone but operating as if rolling along on greased wheels. We can accomplish a great deal today. Everything seems to fit neatly together and with proper time management techniques we could get more done than we might have imagined possible. We can draw upon an intuitive sense with focused determination and a commitment to get things done. There’s no push pull today. We are ready and willing. The one thing we have to watch out for is trying to do too much. Although we may be highly effective today, we could also overdo, exhausting ourselves in the process. Let’s take things step by step, have a check list regarding our ‘to do’ list and check things off one by one as we complete them. We are coming to the end of the year and the energies on this Thursday would give us the impetus to resolve and conclude any number of matters prior to the new year.
Friday, December 29th – Last Hurrah – Jupiter, Pluto, Moon Void-of-Course. Friday continues with the Taurus Moon with the Moon today opposed Jupiter and the Moon trine Pluto. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for eighteen and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Taurus and before the Moon enters Gemini early Saturday morning. This is the last ‘work’ day of the year, and so we might feel a rush to tie up loose ends. It would be wise for us to prioritize our plans. We have to watch for being extravagant or overly generous today. While we may decide to do some and then even more, as the day progresses we could scale down our attempts and focus on what’s truly important. We might choose to make this a short ‘work’ day with the idea of bringing completion to the day, to the week, to the month and to the year earlier on this Friday than later. The energy dies down in the afternoon hours and we could have already left the building for the long new year’s holiday weekend.
Saturday, December 30th – Run Around – Neptune. Saturday has the Moon moving into Gemini, where today late in the day the Moon squares Neptune. We could be all over the place on this Saturday. We might be juggling any number of activities today — whether we are preparing for New Year’s Eve celebrations, attending to necessary errands, tying up matters before the new year, or just running around. There could be a helter skelter quality to this day perhaps even to the point of our activities having no rhyme or reason. Talk might be cheap and plentiful today where we are merely touching base with people with little substance to our conversation. We can be trying to do it all today, so it would be wise that we start off with a ‘to do’ list of what we wish to accomplish. By taking the time to consider what we wish to get done, we may avoid running in circles and we could prove to be more productive. Otherwise, towards the end of the day we might realize that there was just one more thing we needed to deal with that we left undone.
Sunday, December 31st – The End of the Year – Mercury, Uranus, Moon Void-of-Course. Sunday gives us New Year’s Eve, the last day of 2017 and the day before the first day of the new year of 2018. The Gemini Moon opposes Mercury and the Moon sextiles Uranus before the Moon goes Void-of-Course later in the day for eight and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Gemini and before the Moon enters Cancer early on New Year’s Day. We may feel as though we had forgotten to do something yesterday as we begin this Sunday. We might not be able to clearly put our finger on whatever has been left undone. It might be wise to take some moments on this Sunday to reflect on this passing year and see where new beginnings may have begun for ourselves. 2017 has been a one-year in numerology, the first year in a nine-year cycle that speaks to new beginnings. 2018 may provide us opportunities to plant the seeds and stabilize whatever we began during this passing year. We could also be considering on this Sunday our plans for New Year’s Eve. We might have various options as to our planned celebrations, and no matter what we have previously decided upon, it would not be surprising if we change our mind at the last minute and choose to do something different or wear something different to our planned celebration or decide to seek out something exciting and unanticipated at the last minute. Surprises can be part of ringing out the old to bring in the new with a resolution to make the new year a year of stabilizing new trajectories and autonomous pathways. Let’s take time to celebrate whatever initiations 2017 offered and look forward to further developing new involvements in 2018. Happy New Year!
